“I Did Not Know Selling Petrol From A Vandalized Pipeline Is A Crime” – Suspect.

A suspected member of a syndicate vandalizing pipelines of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Jamiu Ajani, said yesterday, Wednesday, 19th of August, 2015, that he did not know selling petrol obtained from the act amounted to crime.

Ajani was arrested alongside his accomplices, Demola Lawrence and Raymond, by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalism, which recovered 300 units of 50-litre jerry cans loaded with premium motor spirit, PMS, from them.

Speaking with Vanguard, the 30 year old said:

“I used to sell building materials at Ketu before venturing into this business. It was some of my customers from Ikorodu that got me into the business.I discovered that they were making more money than I. So I begged them to show me the way. They said I could not go into the creeks because I do not know how to swim, but I could always buy and sell the products to people who need it.
“I was introduced to some buyers at Ijora and some other parts of Lagos State. I buy a 50-litre jerry can for N2,000 and I sell it for N4,000.“On my first job one month ago, I bought 250 50-litre jerry cans for N500,000 from an Ijaw woman, known as Mama Bose, and I sold them for N1,000,000.
“The second job was just last week and I bought 150 jerry cans of 50 litres for N300,000. My biggest job was the one that led to my arrest. I bought 300 jerry cans from Mama Bose for N600,000 and I was hoping to make a profit of over N600,000.
“My boy, Damilola, the driver of the truck we were using and I were intercepted by police on our way to supply the products to a buyer. I did not know selling petrol from vandalised pipelines was a crime.”

The syndicate was intercepted by the task force at Owode area of Ikorodu in a Chevrolet truck, while transporting the stolen products to buyers in various parts of Lagos State.

Once upon a time, National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has stated that Head of States, President Muhammadu Buhari should start his anti-corruption war by probing the last two governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

Bode said in a recent statement that there is no way Buhari can start an anti-corruption campaign without considering last Lagos State governor, Fashola for appointment in the light of the N78.3m of taxpayers’ money Fashola spent on a personal website.

In his own words:

“We are living in a very interesting time. There is an air of repugnancy everywhere most especifically in my state where the immoral stench and the dark odium of Mr. Babatunde Fashola’s administration is daily being unearthed.
“What is most disgusting and annoying in all these is the arrogant and the befuddled attempt of Mr. Fashola to justify the apparent reckless misappropriation of Lagos state taxpayers’ money to set up a personal web site.

“Fashola shows no remorse, no semblance of regret, no guilty nudging of conscience. Instead, he still attempts to ride a high horse, puffing and stomping in feigned seraphic innocence. We are not fooled.”

We knew all along that the emperor had no clothes. Using N78m of taxpayers’ money to build a website is reckless misappropriation. The phony over N29bn used to build a mere kilometre long link bridge is outrageous venality.
“The spurious N1.5bn allegedly spent on phantom pedestrian bridges is another con game. And there are so many of these screaming illegalities observable in the record of our poster boy of yesterday!”

“In a more just society, Mr. Fashola should be facing a comprehensive investigation rather than being considered for any appointment at all. President Buhari should use the Fashola case as an acid test of sparing no one with any intimation of public malfeasance.
“Rather than engaging in a smug chest beating of innocence, Mr. Fashola should first remove himself from any consideration of public appointment and openly call for a judicial probe of his eight years in office.
“Nothing else will bring out the true picture. Lagos State is now the biggest debtor in the federation with over a trillion naira in bad debts. It may take at least 40 years before Fashola’s indebtedness can be defrayed! What a malady!”

“In the end there is no way to divorce Fashola from Bola Tinubu. They are both linked in unutterable complicity. If Fashola stands today in tarnished allegations, Tinubu, his godfather, cannot possibly distance himself in innocent escapism.
“If Fashola now rots in the mud, we must look through the depths to understand the instigating and factor. Whenever Fashola is cooling his feet at the interrogation centre, Tinubu should not be far behind.”

35 Candidates Not Allowed To Write UNILORIN Post-UTME Over Indecent Dressing

The authorities of the University of Ilorin reportedly prevented 35 candidates, mostly female from taking part in the post- UTME screening over indecent dressing.

It was gathered that the candidates had assembled at the centre designated for the computer based (CBT) test at the permanent site of the University when officials in charge of the test turned them back on account of their dressing considered not decent enough.

The authorities of the University, had in an advertorial before the commencement of the test, set guidelines for prospective candidates, one of which compels candidates to dress decently to the examination venue.

It was learnt that the pleas by the candidates were turned down in line with the varsity’s zero tolerance for indecent dressing and other anti-social conducts.

With the development, the affected candidates may have automatically forfeited their chances of writing the crucial examination, which allows them admittance into the University.

When contacted, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr. Kunle Akogun, said he was not aware of the development, but added that “it is possible”, because of the war against indecent dressing on the campus.

Meanwhile, the bus terminus on the University campus was filled with passengers, mostly post- UTME candidates scrambling to board few taxi-cabs that were on ground.

It was gathered that the commercial drivers shuttling between Unilorin Main Campus and Tanke Tipper Garage, took advantage of the moment to exploit the candidates.

Kcee and E-Money led recording company, Five Star Music has fired its General Manager, Soso Soberekon following an alleged publicity stunt by him involving its artiste, Skiibii last week.

The manager, Soso spoke to the press and media stating Skiibii had died and also took to his Instagram page to share a photo of a lighted candle. He also released a mediocre statement stating it was a miscommunication.

Kcee and Skiibii were on radio on Wednesday, August 19th where he was interviewed by Do2dtun of Cool FM.

When asked: “If you’re to blame anyone for this whole mess, who would you blame for this”

Kcee and Harrysong said Soso, while Skiibii said: “If My Family Catch Soso”

If you recall in 2014, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his wife Anita, who now goes by her maiden name Ebhodaghe caused quite a stare when news of divorce between the two hit the net.

The divorce was filed in April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, United Kingdom on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and for the first time since that divorce, Anita is now speaking.

Anita took to her blog to discuss how her life has been changing as of late making some serious references to her marriage as she wrote. She wrote:

It is my desire to reach out and inspire you especially if you feel vulnerable and in need of a change. I hope to inspire you to believe in yourself no matter the circumstances. I want to help you recreate your life going forward, so you can live beautifully.

I have been through this journey of rediscovery and nothing is as beautiful as realising one’s uniqueness as I have done. Life is a precious however, your life can go through different seasons: winter, spring, summer or autumn.

A 25-year-old man, John Okafor, was nabbed by Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for being in possession of N48m.

The suspect who was said to be among the passengers of a commercial bus coming from Onitsha, Anambra State, was apprehended with the money on the Abaji-Abuja Expressway on Monday by the anti-narcotic officials who were on a routine patrol.

Okafor insisted that the money belonged to an unnamed bureau de change firm in Onitsha, adding that he was an employee of the firm. He said he was heading for the foreign exchange market in the Federal Capital Territory to convert the sum to dollars when he was arrested.

He said:

“I work for a bureau de change in Onitsha. I was asked to purchase dollars at the foreign exchange market in Abuja with the money. When we got to Abaji, our vehicle was searched and the money was found. That is all I know.”

Meanwhile, a drug dealer, Chukuka Ugbai, was also arrested with 79 bags of dried weeds said to have tested positive for cannabis in Bako village in the Kwali Area Council, Abuja during the Monday patrol.

It was learnt that the drug, weighing 817 kilogrammes was found in his warehouse.

Ugbai, however, said he was amazed that the operatives were able to track him to his residence, where the drug warehouse was located, adding that he took to drug trafficking to fend for his family.

He said:

“I was not lucky enough because I don’t know how they detected my cannabis warehouse. I sell cannabis to take care of my family and pay my children’s school fees. The officers found 79 bags of cannabis in my store.”

The FCT commander of the NDLEA, Mrs. Chinyere Obijuru said:

“Okafor was on board a commercial bus from Onitsha in Anambra State when N48,450,000 was found in a brown carton concealed in a sack. He also had on him 86,500 CFA. He claimed that the money belongs to a bureau de change at Onitsha. He is suspected to be engaging in money laundering and will be transferred to the EFCC for further investigation.

A woman’s action has created a frenzy on Social Media after she was caught on camera showing her insane outburst on a public street after she was dumped by her boyfriend via text message.

The 24 year old woman was reportedly told by her partner that their relationship of several years simply wasn’t working out.
Unprepared for the news, the woman, who was walking in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district, threw herself to the floor and started screaming and shouting at passersby.

The Mirror reports that the woman remained on the ground for over an hour as bemused onlookers attempted to help her.

At one point, the woman appeared to calm down and agreed to walk arm in arm with two pedestrians, but it wasn’t long before she fell back to the floor and continued screaming. Eventually police and paramedics arrived, and carried the woman away in a stretcher.

What’s love ? But a second-hand emotion ?

Sad… A 22-year-old man as seen in these photos was left trapped in a washing machine for nothing more than three hours. Firefighters were called to the property in Sydney, Australia, after the man was discovered trapped up to his waist, allegedly by his parents.

According to Sydney Herald, Fire crews had to dismantle the washing machine during a rescue operation which took more than an hour. The man – who reportedly has mild autism – was taken to hospital to be checked over.

For starters, the youngest Jenner is reportedly worth $5 million, with assets stemming from her modeling gigs, public appearance and other endeavors she finds herself participating in.

Now that she is a legal adult (and earning $80,000-$120,000 for birthday party in Canada), Kylie thought it was time to move out of mom Kris Jenner’s abode, so she picked herself up a new mansion! Kylie paid $2.7 million for her new Calabasas digs. She won’t be totally alone, though, as her neighbors include sister Khloé Kardashian. If she wants to see other members of her friends and family, she can just hope into one of her über-luxurious vehicles.

Kylie has several cars, all of which are nicer than the next. Osun State Police Apprehend Rauf Aregbesola’s Ex-Aide Over Lover’s Death.

The Osun State Police have arrested a former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Mr. Bode Olugbore, after a 29-year-old woman, Kemi Arobieke, was allegedly found dead in his apartment.

Kemi, who the family claimed was Olugbore’s lover, was found dead in the ex-SSA’s apartment on Saturday, August 8, 2015

Punch Metro gathered that Kemi, an event planner, came from Lagos to visit Olugbore in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, August 6, and promised to return on Saturday.

Kemi’s family, however, got a call on Sunday that the lady had been electrocuted in the ex-SSA’s apartment, and her corpse had been deposited in a mortuary.

The matter was reported at the Dada Police Division, and policemen from the station removed the corpse from the apartment. The ex-SSA was arrested thereafter. The deceased’s elder brother, Ayoola, who confirmed the death of his sister on Tuesday said Kemi had known Olugbore for about four years, but the family initially did not know about their relationship.

He said he, Kemi and Olugbore were members of the same church in Lagos, adding that her sister told the family that the suspect had separated from his wife, who had three children for him.

He said,

“My sister travelled to Osogbo and she was supposed to return to Lagos on Saturday, but we got a call from the police that she was involved in an accident and it was very serious.
“When we got to Osogbo, the police prevented us from seeing her, but told us that she had been electrocuted by an electric fan, but it is unbelievable.”

Ayoola, said the explanation sounded illogical as there were no traces of burn either on her body or on the fan.

He said,

“However, we are waiting for the outcome of the autopsy which was done on Saturday. We have known Bode (Olugbore) for a while. He works with the Osun State Government. Kemi was also gainfully employed, having finished from the university.
“We were made to understand that she was electrocuted in the apartment by a standing fan. That is very hard for me to understand. The police showed us the fan, and it seemed to be working fine. It was not burnt. The socket was not burnt. So, it is suspicious that she was electrocuted. The current in a fan is not enough to kill except one has direct contact with a live wire. The marks on her body suggested something contrary.“Right now, everyone is waiting for answers from the autopsy. We know that the man has been arrested by the police.”

It was further gathered that Olugbore’s lawyer’s said the ex-SSA was not in his apartment at the time of the incident, adding that Kemi’s death was a domestic accident.

The Arobieke’s family lawyer, identified only as Olayiwola, stated that the result of the autopsy was with the police, adding that both families would be invited by the police.

The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Folashade Odoro, confirmed the arrest. She added that investigation was ongoing on the matter.

She said:

“I don’t know about who is involved, but the suspect has been arrested by the police. Investigation is also ongoing on the matter. When things like this happen, the first suspect is the owner of the apartment. So, he was arrested immediately.”

The governor’s media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, when contacted declined to comment on the matter.
