Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, professionally known as Ayra Starr was mentioned in a test at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.

Her popular song “Rush” was made a mandatory question for second-year students in the Department of Marketing and Management.

A Kenyan student took to his Twitter account, to share a screenshot of the exam paper and expressed disappointment that their lecturer based the questions on a musician’s song despite studying the other parts of the syllabus intensely.

He wrote;

“Imagine this, you’ve studied the whole semester for a unit depriving yourself of any form of entertainment even music and hujawai skia rush by ayra starr, you walk into an exam room and this is what you see.”

The lecturer gave the students the song’s lyrics and asked them to assess the underlying presumption that young people are only motivated to work for money.

The first question on Ayra Starr with sub categories read;

“From the above “lyrics” it seems the youth are only motivated by money to work. Based on your understanding of motivational theories discuss this assertion.

b) Describe the Human Resource Planning process and show its relevance to the effectiveness of business strategy in an organization.

c) Job analysis creates internal integration among HRM activities”. Discuss this statement illustrating the linkages between job analysis and any four (4) HRM functions.

d) Job Design is critical in enhancing work life balance. Discuss this statement.”

Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has recounted how one of her secondary school teachers predicted her success in the music industry.

Speaking during the recent edition of “Afrobeats Intelligence” with Joey Akan, Ayra Starr noted that her mathematics teacher believed in her talent and even predicted that Mavin would sign her.

She mentioned that she was only 14 years old at the time, and that he also motivated her to join the choir and improve her singing.

She said her math teacher encouraged her to share her videos online for people to see, and just as he predicted, years later, she was signed into Don Jazzy’s record label, Mavin.

“I have a teacher that literally inspired me. He said I was going to be signed to Mavin. It’s crazy. I was 14 then, and he said, ‘Mavin is going to sign you. Start making videos.’ He would just inspire me. He was even Muslim, but he would tell me to go to church and join the choir. He was my math teacher,” she said.

In other news, popular Nigerian singer, Iyanya has responded to a young man who threatened him online for lusting over his girlfriend.

It all started after Iyanya took to his Twitter handle to recount how a lady caught his eye in the crowd during his performance at Davido’s Timeless concert in Lagos and asked her to contact him.

Moments later, he gave an update on the microblogging platform that he had found the lady and shared her photo with the caption, “Update: It seems we’ve found the girl.”.

However, a man claiming to be the lady’s boyfriend, while responding to the tweet, asked Iyanya to take down his posts about his girlfriend and threatened to take action if they were not removed.

In response, Iyanya asked the young man to provide proof that the lady is really his girlfriend. He even went further to invite the alleged lover of his crush to join them on a dinner date.
