Nollywood actress, Judy Austin has come under heavy fire from netizens over her congratulatory message to her veteran colleague, Nkiru Sylvanus.

Thespian, Nkiru Sylvanus and her husband, Riches Sammy, tied the knot in church on Sunday, January 15, 2022, in a star-studded ceremony.

As fans, friends, and colleagues trooped to social media to congratulate the newlywed couple, controversial actress Judy did the same, but her gesture didn’t seem to be well received by netizens who have been critical of her since she was unveiled as actor Yul Edochie’s second wife.

Taking to her Instagram page, Judy shared a video from Nkiru’s wedding ceremony and prayed that their union be blessed.

Nigerian singer, Davido has unfollowed his cousin and colleague, Sina Rambo, after he shared their private chat with his mother-in-law.

It can be recalled that Sina’s mother-in-law, Queen Ojanga Korth, recently called out Davido for allegedly threatening her daughter, Heidi.

She took to her Instagram page to share an alleged conversation between Davido and his cousin discussing Heidi mentioning Chioma who is mourning her son, Ifeanyi, in the ongoing saga between herself and Sina Rambo.

Heidi’s mother raised an alarm to the fact that Davido said he would deal with her daughter for involving Chioma in her rants and claimed that her daughter never insulted Chioma.

She wrote;

A Nigerian lady has confronted the management and staff of a hotel for not preventing the arrest of some guests lodged there.

She alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) barged into the hotel and arrested and detained a few lodgers.

In a video making the rounds online, she can be heard yelling at the hotel staff for not stepping in when the EFCC operatives showed up at the premises.

She claimed the customers that were arrested were patrons and have been staying at the hotel for three years.

However, as she was speaking in the lounge, the hotel staff could be seen engaging in other activities ignoring her rants as some guests walked around the premises.

Popular actress, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, has disclosed that she only became a millionaire six years ago despite being popular for over two decades.

Toyin made this revelation in a recent interview on TVC’s breakfast show “Your View”, where she spoke about her marriage and career.

During the interview, the thespian said she only started making good money from acting five to six years ago even though she had been in the industry for over 20 years.

According to her, there’s a common misconception that every famous person is rich, where as there is a huge difference between fame and wealth.

“I started making money maybe five or six years ago. I became a millionaire about six years ago, all these years that you people knew me, I wasn’t wealthy, fame is different from riches, you people always mix it up,” she said.

The mother of one further stated that she is a traditional woman who respects and submits to her husband, actor Kola Ajeyemi. According to her, she doesn’t hold ‘woke’ views about marriage.

Speaking on the barrage of failed celebrity marriages, Toyin Abraham said the society is not helping matters because they blow things out of proportion.

Using her personal experience as an example, she recalled how she was recently slut-shamed on social media over a video of popular skit maker, Sydney Talker, hugging her.

Reality TV star, Mercy Eke, has reacted after a Twitter user called her out for allegedly lying about her age.

The drama started after Mercy took to her Twitter handle to show off her PVC while urging fellow Nigerians to collect theirs ahead of the general elections.

Sharing the snapshot of the PVC, Mercy Eke, who celebrated her 29th birthday only a few months ago, blurred out her date of birth.

This, however, did not stop an inquisitive Twitter user from using other information on the card to dig out Mercy’s profile—she was revealed to be 32 years old from her government-issued voter’s card. Read here.

“You covered your date of birth and left VIN that shows everything about you. Does this make sense to you?. Anyway, I’m here to inform your that I just found out that you are 32 years of age. Don’t come here 29th Sept and claim 25 years o. Have a nice day”, the Twitter user wrote.

Nigerian singer, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, better known as Brymo, has for the umpteenth time apologized over his ‘bigoted’ rants against the Igbo tribe, which stirred an uproar on the internet.

Recall that the singer, who supports APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared that he would rather have an ailing president than an Igbo president that could lead the country into anarchy.

This statement did not sit well with the Igbos, especially Peter Obi supporters, who raised a petition to cancel him and stop him from winning the AFRIMA award.

Brymo who had refused to address the issue finally apologized when someone raised the issue on his Instagram live on Friday, 13 January.

According to the ‘Ara’ singer, the whole issue started with him hearing that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie accepted a chieftaincy title in her hometown when she had refused some national honors.

He said this behavior was strange as it suggested the Igbo people themselves were not interested in national recognition and he merely pointed that out.

Brymo explained his careless choice of words as him insinuating disinterest in the topic and apologized to all offended parties.

Well, the singer has in a new tweet shared online, pleaded for the forgiveness of those offended by his “bigoted spewings”, stating that he meant no harm.

Popular Nigerian businesswoman, Sandra Iheuwa, has revealed that she has found love again.

This comes months after her messy split from ex-husband Steve Thompson.

You will recall that Sandra tied the knot with royal hair boss Steve in a lavish ceremony that reportedly cost 45 million Naira in August 2021, but the marriage hit rock bottom just five months later.

Following their split, Sandra, in a post via her Instagram page on Monday morning, January 16, announced that she is in love again.

The mother-of-four, who declared that love is beautiful, said that he will be hiding her new man like a “palliative,” so that when she suffers a heartbreak, it will only be between her and God.

“Love is a beautiful. Your girl is in love again. I will hide my baby like palliative cos when I chop breakfast na between me and my God”, she wrote.

In other news, a New York-based Nigerian lady, Uzo Njoku, has stated that she won’t marry a man who is ashamed of her profession.

Uzo Njoku, a visual artist who moved to America when she was seven, stated this on Saturday, January 14, 2023, after her partner said he would introduce her to his parents as an “entrepreneur” rather than tell them she’s an artist.

According to her, she grew up trying to defend her profession, and it’s tiring that she has to do the same for potential in-laws.

“This guy was talking about introducing me to his parents. I asked what would you tell them my occupation is? He said an entrepreneur. I asked why not an artist and he told me to be serious. Popular Nigerian doctor and influencer, Dr. Chinonso Egemba better known as Aproko Doctor, has opened up on his recent battle with brain tumour.

The doctor, who is known for giving health advice on social media, disclosed this in a video he shared via his Twitter handle on Monday morning, January 16.

He said he went blind in one eye on December 3rd 2022 and was diagnosed with Cranio Pharygiona – a brain tumour – two days later.

He said he had to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumour, and battled for survival throughout December 2022.

He captioned the video,

“Throughout December of 2022, I was fighting for my life. I went blind in one eye on the 3rd of Dec. 2022 & on the 5th, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Today I stand here before you to share my story. It has been a long road to recovery but each day is better than the last.”

“It was Dr. Tayo Ojo, a neurosurgeon here in Nigeria that did the surgery. So many people begged me to leave the country and get the surgery done but something kept me back here because I still had trust in us. We just need more investment in our health sector.

“Education, health. For me… those are the two systems any nation needs to succeed. I’m dedicating my life to seeing that they succeed in our country Nigeria. I hope you see it too.”

Speaking in the video, he said, “One thing to understand is that health issues can happen to you regardless of who you are including me.

“Here I am sitting on this seat sharing my own story about how I had a tumour in my brain. It was so bad that I couldn’t read out of my phone anymore to the point where this eye, I couldn’t read with it and it was also closing. They said it is a Craniopharyngioma and we need to do surgery to remove it.”

One of the newly unveiled housemates in the Big Brother Titans house, Marvin Achi, has caused quite a stir online after it was discovered that he has participated in three popular TV shows.

Recall that BBTitans began on Sunday night, January 15, and 20 housemates – 10 Nigerians and 10 South Africans – were welcomed into the house to contend for the grand prize.

Marvin, a 29-year-old chemical engineer and fitness enthusiast, however, caught the attention of many who said his face looked familiar.

Upon further digging, netizens found out that he has contested in America’s Got Talent, Big Brother US, and Netflix’s Circle before making an appearance on BBTitans.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to recount how she was physically abused and tortured by her biological parents for years.

The lady, identified as @Love24Kay on Twitter, said she was subjected to inhumane treatments by her religious parents because they felt she was not “born again enough”.

Detailing some of the agonizing punishments she suffered, the lady said she hated Jesus, the church and her parents for years, and battled with low self-esteem issues.

According to her, she got married at the young age of 18 because she wanted to leave her parent’s house by all means. She added that she still finds it difficult to forgive them till date.

“My mom beat me and out pepper inside my vagina for going to my neighbor who is a boy house. My dad beats me till I faint bleeding from my nose, I’ve fainted in school due to beating, eyes, mouth and body swollen for smallest mistakes.
They refused to send me to the university.

Because to them I’m not born again enough, or good Christian enough, if I go to the university, the freedom there will move me farther from Christ. I’ll be beaten like a criminal if I don’t go to church.
I hated Jesus, church, religion, my parents for years.

I had serious case of low self-esteem, couldn’t walk with my head up high, I still can’t till now, attempted suicide thrice.
Became hateful, spiteful, I would imagine evil things happening to them. I even thought of setting the whole house on fire once.
Couldn’t heal.

I got married at 18, to leave the house yeah. Didn’t call or contact my parents for 4 years after my marriage.
I’m still healing, picking up pieces of my childhood, trying not be the same with my kids.
Trying to find a way to let go and forgive. We talk once in a while now.”

Popular Nigerian talent manager, Ubi Franklin, has revealed that superstar singer Davido hired him to manage his woman, Chioma.

Ubi made the disclosure while speaking about his relationship with the DMW boss and his spouse, Chioma, on Tea with Taymesan podcast.

According to him, Davido reached out to him in 2018 and asked him to be Chiona’s manager because he considers him family.

Ubi also disclosed that Davido has always supported him in different ways and has never once judged him for any of the controversial issues surrounding his marriage or business.

He further noted that he values his relationship with the 30BG boss and his wife, Chioma, and loves them greatly because they always support him.

This comes after Ubi Franklin replied to those dragging him for tattooing Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi’s nickname on his hand.

Recall that Ubi took to Instagram to share a photo of his tattoo. It spells “Popsicle,” the nickname he gave the late Ifeanyi. The tattoo also includes a drawing of a dove with an olive branch in its beak.

However, some Nigerians were displeased with the tattoo and dragged Ubi online, tagging him as a “clout chaser.”

Taking to his Instastories, Ubi said most Nigerians are miserable and see one showing real love and call it clout because they are pretentious.

The lady posted the video to show Nigerians planning to relocate to the Italian city she lives in that things are not rosy over there too.

She said she’s not trying to discourage people from relocating to Italy but just to show them the reality of living abroad.

Reality TV star and model, Alex Asogwa better known as Alex Unusual, has taken to social media to speak against drug and substance abuse.

In a post shared via her Instastories, Alex wondered why people still get involved in substance abuse despite seeing the adverse effect it has on others.

She said she still understands those who got addicted to drugs because they were placed on it while sick, but those who willfully use drugs is beyond her.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate further urged people to quit drugs because it’s not good for their health.

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has in a new video shared online cleared the air about her health status after she was misquoted as having cancer.

This comes after the actress, in the latest episode of her YouTube cooking show, opened up about having a cancer scare just six months after the birth of her fourth child.

The mother of four, who had veteran actress Joke Silva on the show, had narrated how she had her thyroid removed and was placed on medication for life.

“… Odi [her husband] and I have actually been here and I have never discussed it where we had, like uhm, a scare. I had a cancer scare in quote and I had like my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

My last was six months at that time and then we kept on saying “okay, we have to understand that this is the new us, let’s go get the surgery done”. And then we got there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life and it was a reality that we had to sit down,” she said in part.

Following the revelation, some fans of the thespian thought she had cancer, and flooded her with condolence calls and messages to sympathize with her.

Mercy has now laid the false narrative to rest in a new sit-down video she posted on her Instagram page. She said she does not have cancer and is in good health.

“So a little PSA! I’m okay guys Thanks for all the calls and DMs I don’t take your love for granted! ,” she wrote.
