The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime has made tremendous progress.

According to Mr. Mohammed, Nigeria was currently better than it was before 2015 when the opposition party was in charge. He mentioned this on Monday while appearing on the Nigeria Television Authority’s (NTA) live show “Good Morning Nigeria.”

During the show, the minister stated that Mr. Buhari’s administration has met Nigerians’ expectations and remained faithful to its mission considering the time constraints and circumstances. Attempts to de-market the government and the country, he claimed, were the product of die-hard skeptics and a noisy minority.

Commenting on the administration’s accomplishments, Mohammed stated that in 2015, the whole North East area was inaccessible, and that twenty of Borno State’s twenty-seven Local Government Areas were occupied and controlled by Boko Haram rebels. According to the minister, Boko Haram now controls and occupies no portion of Nigeria’s territory.

Mr Mohammed recalled that Nigeria was the top importer of rice from Thailand in 2015, but that with the present administration’s agricultural policies and programs, the country is self-sufficient in the staple and food in general. He stated that the Anchor Borrowers Programme had empowered millions of farmers, and that the number of rice mills in the country had expanded from two in 2015 to 60 currently.

According to the minister, the administration’s social intervention programs fed 10 million students daily and provided Conditional Cash Transfers to two million households, among other things.

Mr Mohammed stated that the administration has built 17,000 kilometers of new roads and restored 8,000 kilometers across the country. He stated that Mr. Buhari’s administration will continue to develop a progressive and successful nation and would not be frightened or cowed by critics.

A Nigerian woman has narrated how she found out her boyfriend was married.

The lady, identified on Facebook as Evangelist Esther Song, shared her experience with her lover, who deceived her into believing he was single, and she became involved with him without realizing he was married.

Esther shared the heartbreaking experience on Sunday, February 19, while reacting to a Facebook post about men who tell lies in relationships.

She said she had no idea he was married until she visited him one day, opened a box in his bedroom, and discovered his traditional wedding photos with another woman.

She said When she confronted him, he claimed that the man in the photos is his look-alike elder brother and that the box belonged to his mother’s sister’s daughter, who often keeps her stuff in his house.

“I just broke up with one chinedu David John he can lie for d whole universe I even caught him red handed yet he was still lying my God I hated him for dat.

My sister I suspected him until I visited him nd my spirit was troubled seeing female stuff in his room nd I had to open one of d box lol nd behold it’s his traditional wedding photos guess wat he said”, she wrote in part.

Nollywood actress cum politician, Tonto Dikeh has taken to social media to advise Nigerians to vote wisely in the upcoming general elections.

Contrary to the popular notion that people should vote with their conscience, the mother of one said she would not encourage such because the average Nigerian does not have conscience.

She advised them to vote wisely because she believes their pain and suffering will push them to make the right choice.

She wrote,

A while back, Tonto Dikeh revealed that she’s quitting acting to focus on her political career.

The deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, who made this disclosure during an interview with BBC News Pidgin, said she would not be returning to Nollywood after the governorship election.

According to Tonto, she will not return to the movie industry even if her party loses the governorship election in Rivers State.

When asked if she has completely retired from acting, Tonto said, “I don’t like movies like that again. It’s been a long time since I acted on screen, you know.”

A Nigerian man has uploaded a video demonstrating the horrible condition of the old N200 notes he received from his bank.

Recall that President Buhari extended the validity of only old N200 notes till April 10 2023 as old 500 and 1000 notes cease to be legal tender causing citizens to troop to the bank to acquire them.

Taking to his Twitter account, the pharmacist shared photos and video with the caption;

“I just received this from the bank, they’re so bad and most of them are torn but half bread is better that none. We really need to do better in the way we handle our currency in this country.”

In other news, controversial Nigerian singer, Portable took to social media to lament bitterly after he was sprayed fake money at a show.

He went to perform at a show in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Saturday, February 18, when fun-seekers sprayed him ‘money’ during his performance.

However, the ‘Zazuh’ star, who is accustomed to being sprayed money at events, received a rude shock when he got back to his hotel and discovered that the money were all fake.

Nigerian businessman, Olakunle Churchill has finally revealed why he named his son with his wife, Rosy, after his first son with his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh.

Olakunle Churchill caused a massive stir in 2021 when he unveiled his son’s name with Rosy Meurer as “King,” the same name as that of his son with Tonto Dikeh.

He was dragged along with his wife, Rosy, by social media users who accused him of being obsessed with Tonto, but he did not react or give a reason for his action.

Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy-Njoku has advised Nigerians to stop bothering God with their prayers and instead vote on Saturday, February 25.

She said despite all the prayers Nigerians offer for the nation, God has never punished bad politicians in Nigeria.

8 Madonna University students burnt to death in road accident (Photos)

A bus conveying students of Madonna University, Rivers State, was involved in a horrific accident and went up in flames on Saturday.

At least 8 students of the varsity were burnt to the death in the terrible accident which occurred at TTC/Special Science School junction along the trans-Saharan road in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The bus was reportedly traveling from Port Harcourt to Taraba State when it crashed on Saturday, February 18.

It was gathered that the students were returning to their respective homes ahead of the upcoming general elections on Saturday, February 25.

One of the victims has been identified as Grace Usman Ezra after her relative took to Facebook to mourn her unfortunate demise.

A hospital worker took to Twitter to disclose that some of the victims who managed to escape suffered multiple fractures, while some suffered varying degrees of burns.

She tweeted,

“Working in the hospital can be very depressing atimes. A bus carrying Madonna students traveling for the elections collided with a Sienna and the bus burnt. Now these poor kids are in the A&E all in pains.

Those that managed to jump out all have multiple fractures. In and out of surgeries since last night. The burns units, OR and A&E staff hasn’t rested since last night.
So far, we haven’t lost any.
Keep praying for them.”

A woman has publicly disgraced her husband for impregnating another woman after she sponsored his visa to the United Kingdom (UK).

A video shared online shows the woman confronting her husband, whom she identified as Desmond, in a hospital after she discovered that he was expecting a child with another woman.

She accused him of using her to obtain a visa to the UK and then impregnating his side chick when his visa was about to expire in order to secure a foothold in the country.

Turning to his pregnant mistress, the enraged woman asked if she didn’t know her lover is still married to her.

Amid the drama, the man continued walking away with his mistress, and simply told his wife to stop embarrassing herself in public. He however didn’t deny the allegations.

The aggrieved wife further demanded that he formally divorce her before starting a new life with someone else.

A viral video has captured the dramatic moment an elderly Nigerian man lost his cool after his greeting was snubbed by a fellow Nigerian in Ireland.

In the video, the man is seen angrily confronting the Nigerian for refusing to respond to his greeting.

While berating the man for not responding to a simple greeting, the enraged man explained how he had previously greeted about 4-5 black people and none of them had responded.

He went on to ask about the man’s nationality, and interestingly, it turned out he’s also from Nigeria.

This seemed to further enrage the elderly man, as he wondered why a Nigerian would snub his countryman’s greeting.

Upon finding out where the young man is from, he also demanded to know what part of Nigeria he’s from.

“I was passing. I was joking with you as a black brother. Because I greet more than 4, 5 black people & they don’t answer me. Are you one of them who don’t answer me? Who are you from? I wanna know”, he said.

A Nigerian man has revealed how fire gutted his shop and razed everything, except a portrait of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The artist shared a video of the aftermath of the fire accident, and showed off Peter Obi’s portrait which was spared in the fire that destroyed other portraits in his shop.

The owner of the shop, who was stunned by the incident, was heard saying,

“Omo God is faithful, see shop this morning, out of everything that was in this shop, this was the only picture that was revived. Everything single thing was burnt down except this picture.”

Nollywood actress, Chioma Chijioke, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of her husband, filmmaker Kingsley Anosike.

It was gathered that Kingsley slumped and died during a football match in Kuwait on Saturday, February 18th 2023.

The renowned filmmaker relocated to Kuwait in November 2022, with plans to establish a studio in the Asian country before his untimely passing.

Just days ago, Kingsley took to social media to celebrate his wife on Valentine’s day, February 14.

He posted a lovely photo with his wife and wrote,

“Happy lovely Val Day from the unbeatable Family!! Show love everywhere you go. We love you all”.

Sadly, he has passed on to glory. May his soul rest in peace!

Reality TV star, Neo Akpofure has revealed why his estranged partners find it difficult to move on following a breakup.

In a recent interview, the Big Brother Naija star, who was in a relationship with colleague Vee until their breakup in 2021, revealed that all of his estranged lovers want to rekindle a relationship with him.

Speaking during the interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, where he shared intriguing facts about himself, Neo said he’s one of those men whose ex-lovers regret losing.

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye otherwise known as Mr. P, recently turned down a lady who wanted to test the authenticity of his jewelry at a show.

A video serving rounds online captures the moment the content creator approached the singer and requested for permission to test his diamond chain.

The singer, who felt offended by the request, asked if he looked like someone who wears fake jewelry, considering his celebrity status and class.

To escape from the rather ’embarrassing’ situation, he added that he was rushing to perform on stage and refused to allow her test his jewelry.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has taken to social media to lament bitterly after he was sprayed fake money at a show.

He went to perform at a show in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Saturday, February 18, when fun-seekers sprayed him ‘money’ during his performance.

However, the ‘Zazuh’ star, who is accustomed to being sprayed money at events, received a rude shock when he got back to his hotel and discovered that the money were all fake.

In the video, he showed off the ‘fake money,’ which appeared to have been printed by the club, possibly due to the naira scarcity crisis.

Speaking in the video, the singer, who spoke in Yoruba, said,

“It will never be well with you all. The country is scattered. So you guys have started printing money. Don’t worry. Me too I will start buy machine that will be used to print money. I went for a show in Sagamu yesterday. They did not spray original money. See the money they sprayed Super star. I don’t know this one o. They have started printing moiney in their house. A group of angry residents recently confronted a POS vendor for requesting an outrageous amount on cash withdrawal amidst scarcity of new Naira notes.

In a viral video, a man can be seen ranting after discovering that they would have to pay N4,000 to receive N10,000.

Customers who wanted to withdraw money but were put off by the exorbitant cost swarmed a POS operator and informed her she would not be allowed to operate.

She, on the other hand, stated that she was merely following orders from her boss and that she did not make the N4k charge on her own.

Her explanations did not appease the enraged men and they decided to remove the lady’s POS umbrella and table, forcing her to leave.

The man who confronted her could be heard repeatedly expressing his outrage at the extent of exploitation individuals had to face in the country.
