Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Phyna, has debunked her initial claim of terminating two pregnancies in the past.
Just recently, the reality TV star set the internet buzzing after she revealed she’d had two abortions at the ages of 19 and 24, respectively.
Explaining the reason behind her decision to terminate the pregnancies in an interview with Punch, she stated that she terminated her first pregnancy at age 19 because she was too young and couldn’t tell her parents about it.
She added that she aborted the second pregnancy at age 24 because she didn’t want to have a child with her then-boyfriend because he was physically abusive and toxic.
“As for my reasons for taking abortion pills, if there are 100 women in Nigeria today, 98 have done abortions. So, no one should judge me. I was in a 12-year relationship then and I was so young. The first abortion was when I was 19; I couldn’t go home to tell my parents that I was pregnant at that age. And the two pregnancies were so early like two to three weeks that I could just use tablets.” She said in part.
However, following the backlash that trailed the revelation, Phyna has now debunked her initial claim of having had two abortions as false.
In an interview with actor Uche Maduagwu, she explained that the whole abortion drama started as mere banter after a troll made an unflattering remark about her on Twitter.
A Nigerian man has been left devastated after a DNA test showed that he’s not the biological father of his three children barely a year after he underwent vasectomy.
A Twitter doctor, identified as @drpenking, took to the microblogging platform to relay the heartbreaking story of one of his patients on Wednesday, January 11.
He said the embattled man decided to undergo vasectomy in February 2022 because his wife birthed their three child via Cesarean Section (CS) and they didn’t want to risk the chances of her falling pregnant again.
Sadly, he conducted a DNA test for his three children in January 2023 and discovered that they are not his biological children.
Read the doctor’s lengthy post below,
“I’ve battled so much to avoid saying this but I still got to say it because the guilt is enveloping me. February 11, 2022 at 9:40am, a young man approached me here on Twitter and asked to consult me. I gave him instructions and after making payment I set up a virtual consultation.
It was nothing serious, he just wanted to inquire about how safe vasectomy is. He had completed his family size, a boy and 2 beautiful girls. I assured him that it is completely safe with no major side effects apart from mild discomfort and some bruising which can actually be well-managed.
I went ahead to encourage him that it is a sacrifice he can make for his wife to spare her the clouds of disruptions associated with female hormonal contraceptives. I felt even more pity for the woman when I learnt that all the 3 children were birthed through CS. The strong woman had already gone under the knife thrice.
It would have been perfect if the couple had made the decision to stop procreation before the third CS, then, immediately after removing the baby, the Doctor would have carried out Tubal ligation like I always do, Thereby Killing two birds with one stone with no extra surgical risks.
Unfortunately, Their decision came way after the third pregnancy and I felt it would be inhumane to advise him to send back that poor woman back under the knife for the fourth time, for tubal ligation. Hence, I used every drop of saliva in me to convince him to bear the brunt for his wife this last time. He listened to me!!!!
This man contacted me on Sunday 8/01/2023, without much words, he sent me the DNA Paternity Test Results of “his” 3 children.
Till today I’ve not been able to reply him. I act like I am okay but My days are disrupted and my nights are long and cold. Last night specifically I woke up more than 7 times.
All I can read on the result is. Probability of Paternity:0% Probability of Paternity:0% Probability of Paternity: 0%
Dear Nigerian Women, why do you make our job so difficult? . Why????
Today 11th January, 2023, I hereby withdraw every support I threw behind Vasectomy. My Dear Nigerian Audience, please Vasectomy is not an option for you. Firstly, how sure are you that the children you are boasting of are truly yours?
I am currently writing a Paper on Sociocultural Banes Discrediting Vasectomy in Africa using Nigeria as a Case Study. I pray it is accepted for publication in the International Journal of Reproductive Medicine. The world needs to know what is happening in Nigeria and when medical tycoons all over the world are preaching Vasectomy, they need to learn to keep Nigerian Men out of their mouth.
Or another valid suggestion is, if you ever Vasectomy, do paternity test for your children first before going under the knife. Vasectomy in itself is very safe and effective. Nigerian women are the ones changing the practice of medicine with their lifestyle. Odogwus
Why don’t you just divorce your husband and get married to the man that is impregnating you inside your matrimonial home? Why y’all so w1cked? Just imagine nursing a Post CSection woman for three different times not knowing you aren’t the father? Why?????”

Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Phyna Otabor, has revealed why she terminated two pregnancies at the ages of 19 and 24 respectively.
She explained the reason behind her decision in a recent interview with PUNCH, days after she received heavy backlash for publicly saying she has had two abortions.
It would be recalled that Phyna made the disclosure while trading words with a fan of her nemesis and fellow star, Beauty Tukura, on Twitter recently. ICYMI, Read here
According to her, she choose to terminate the first pregnancy at 19 because she was too young and couldn’t tell her parents about it.
She said she aborted the second pregnancy at 24 because she didn’t want to have a child with her then-boyfriend because he was physically abusive and toxic.
The 25-year-old star said,
“As for my reasons for taking abortion pills, if there are 100 women in Nigeria today, 98 have done abortions. So, no one should judge me. I was in a 12-year relationship then and I was so young. The first abortion was when I was 19; I couldn’t go home to tell my parents that I was pregnant at that age. And the two pregnancies were so early like two to three weeks that I could just use tablets. The second was when I was 24, and I had finished serving then. I was ready to keep it but the relationship was getting toxic. He abused me and always beat me up. I said to myself that I couldn’t do this anymore, so I took it out and that was how I ended the relationship.”
When the interviewer asked if she would consider getting an abortion if she gets pregnant in her current state and status, Phyna said,
“Why would I do that? The way I am now, I have money to take care of 10 children, so why? In fact, if my parents were rich at the time of my first pregnancy, I wouldn’t have aborted it. But because I knew I was from a very poor background, we used to eat once a day then, especially in the afternoon and then carry it till the next day. So, keeping the baby then, was no option for me.”
Speaking further, the Edo-born hype priestess said that she has pleaded with God for forgiveness because she knows abortion is a sin, and believes he has forgiven her.
“In the face of God, it’s a sin and I have prayed and gone for confession. I am Catholic and I know God has forgiven me. It is what God says that counts. I don’t care what anybody thinks or says. I am not proud of committing abortion but the situation surrounding it was what I couldn’t help. For me, I do not see the essence of bringing children into this world when you are not ready. So, it’s either you abstain from sex, use protection or when it happens; you are either ready to chest the baby or take it out, especially when the situation is beyond you. Everybody has their own purpose behind their actions, just that there are some who are not scared of committing abortions at all, which is not good.”

A young Nigerian man has caused a stir after he shared his criteria for choosing a wife.
The man, identified as Mazi Ifeanyi, said in a post via his Twitter handle that a woman he will marry will have to stay with his mother or sister to learn how to prepare his food.
According to him, this is an important criteria because he’s selective when it comes to food.
Speaking further, he averred that the marriages of older generations lasted longer because the women treated their husbands like “kings” and worshipped them.
“I’m quite selective when it comes to the food I eat. Any woman I would marry would have to go stay with my mum or sister for like 4 months to learn how to prepare my food and know my preferences…. Any woman who isn’t ready to learn from my mum can’t be my wife !!!” he tweeted
When a Twitter user countered him, stating that he should instead teach his wife how to prepare his meal, he retorted that a man has no business in the kitchen.
“A man teaching a man how took ? That’s a taboo a man has no business with the kitchen”, he wrote.

On-air personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, popularly known as Do2dtun, has explained why many people, including celebrities, lie about their age.
He shared this in an apparent reaction to the online drama that ensued after Big Brother Naija star, Chichi, celebrated her 23rd birthday on Tuesday, January 10.
Many people didn’t believe that that she is 23 and accused her of reducing her age. Some online investigators even dug up throwback photos of Chichi taken during her matriculation ceremony in 2014, to back their claims that she’s older than 23.
Taking to his Twitter page to speak on the never-ending age discourse, the 38-year-old MC said many people prefer to lie about their age because Nigerians are naturally ageists.
He said Nigerians have formed the habit of age-shaming and stigmatizing people based on their age, which has forced many to lie about their real age.
The self-styled “Energy God” tweeted,
“Aging is a crime in Nigeria. “you don dey old o”
“Agbaya” “you are old; stop dressing like this”
Some of you have limited anyone growing up to think it’s bad to be older. We are too ageist & that’s why a few have grown bad attributes of lying about their age.”
