Popular skit-maker and singer, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe has revealed how he made viral hit track, Machala.
This comes after the track was removed off streaming platforms following a conflicting copyright claim to the song by the skit maker and a Berri Tiga.
The “Machala” song was set to be the song of the summer before it was removed from streaming platforms. It was also a source of controversy as a lot of people lambasted Carter for seeking attention from Wizkid, who is popularly referred to as “Machala”.
In an interview with media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Carter revealed how he made the song that became a viral hit.
According to him,
“I was at home with my guy and started to put some instrumental beats on youtube. I started to chant Machala. It was then it occurred to me that if I do a song like this, it will go viral”

Ooni of Ife marries new wife (Video)
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has married a new wife, Mariam, amid reports that his marriage to Queen Silenkunola Naomi has hit rock bottom.
The monarch’s new queen, identified as Mariam Anako-Ogunwusi, an oil and gas guru, was welcomed to his palace on Tuesday night, September 6.
Recall that Simi, the sister of Ooni of Ife’s estranged wife, Queen Naomi, hinted at the marital woes her sister experienced in her marriage to the monarch.
Recall that in December 2021, Queen Naomi announced that she has parted ways with her husband, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi better known as the Ooni of Ife.
According to her, she has tried her best to endure and make their marriage work, adding that she smiled through the struggle but now she’s done.
She also told her kinsmen not to associate her with the Ooni or Ife or call her the Queen of Ile-Ife any longer. However, the palace maintained that the royal couple are still married.
In a new development, the 29-year-old Olori took to her Instagram page on Thursday, August 29, to speak on how difficult it is for women to walk away from an abusive marriage.
Reacting to the post, her sister, Simi, said no woman deserves to experience a tiny bit of what she went through and is still going through.
She added that Queen Naomi has gone through enough and it’s time ‘to wake the sleeping dog’.

Popular Nigerian singer, Pepenazi, has caused a stir online after he shared a video of himself preaching on his social media page.
The ‘Illegal’ crooner, who made waves in the music industry in 2014-16 but has been off the screen for some time, seems to have made a radical change in his life and is reportedly now a Pastor.
In his active years in the entertainment industry, he collaborated with Olamide, Reminsice, and other Nigerian singers.
In the video he posted, Pepenazi, whose real name is Opeyemi Kayode, is seen preaching and calling on people to give their lives to Christ.

“Divorce is not for the weak” – Dancer Korra Obidi breaks down as she’s separated from her kids (Video)
Popular Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, got quite emotional as she spoke about her struggles with divorce.
It would be recalled that in March, Korra’s estranged husband and father of their two kids, Justin, announced his separation from the dancer barely a week after they welcomed their second child, Athena.
Speaking on the consequences of divorce in a video she shared on social media, Korra revealed her children, including 6-months-old Athena, have been taken away from her for some days now.
Korra, who averred that divorce is not for the weak, said she was heartbroken when she saw strangers touching her kid.
“Don’t get divorced. It is not for the weak. Separated from your 6 months old for a whole week. I have been trying to keep my composure but last night I got broken because I saw strangers touching my child. It really broke me.” She said.

Popular media personality, Bolanle Olukanni has said enjoying stable power supply in Nigeria comes at a high price.
This follows the recent improvement in power supply in some parts of the country following the increased electricity generation.
Some Nigerians on social media have attested to the fact that they are enjoying better power supply, however, some are complaining that their electricity bill has increased sporadically.
In reaction to the complaints, a Twitter user wrote,

Reacting to the tweet, Bolanle bemoaned the high rate she has been paying for electricity lately.

A lady has advised Africans in diaspora against sending money to someone they are not yet married to in Africa.
Speaking in a video shared online, she said people residing in Africa were surviving before they started dating someone abroad so they should stop expecting to be sent money because they don’t pluck money from the proverbial tree abroad.
According to her, someone who genuinely loves and cares about you will not ask you for money, but rather focus on providing their own needs till you both get married.
Speaking further, she said relationships should not be about money, but that’s not the case for Africans dating people in diaspora, as they tend to financially exploit them.
She concluded by saying relationships should be 50:50 and couples should share their financial responsibilities equally irrespective of one’s geographic location.

Rivers police bust child trafficking ring, rescue 15 kidnapped children and arrest fake reverend sister
No fewer than 15 kidnapped children were rescued from a child trafficking ring in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The children were rescued when men of the Rivers State Police command raided the hideout in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka, disclosed this during a press briefing at the state police headquarters on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
A fake reverend sister who is believed to be at the centre of the child trafficking ring in the state was also paraded.
The CP said the suspect would be charged in court, adding that investigations are ongoing as some of the children have been reunited with their parents.
In other news, a Nigerian lady has narrated how a member of a kidnapping ring who abducted her saved her and also bought her a phone.
According to her, at 17, she was abducted on her way to work and was taken to another state.
She said she got lucky as a member of the gang liked her, so he drove her out of the bush to safety.
She claimed that on their way, he asked for her phone number, and after learning that it was damaged, he bought her a new one.
The lady identified as @GinikaofAfrica on Twitter, who made this revelation while reacting to a tweet asking Twitter users to share a true-life story that sounds made up, also said that he provided her with the names and hideouts of her kidnappers.
Man declared wanted for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death
A South African man, identified as Sylvester Roy Mphephu, has been declared wanted in connection with the murder of his 28-year-old girlfriend, Palesa.
The suspect allegedly beat his girlfriend to pulp in the early hours of Monday, September 5, in Edenvale, Gauteng, then dropped her off at a hospital before he fled.
He left her in a critical condition and she sadly succumbed to the injuries, while he’s currently still at large.
The Police in Guateng have now placed Mphephu on the wanted list and encouraged anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, friends and family of the deceased have taken to social media to mourn her sudden demise and demand justice for her death.
A Facebook user, Lee-Roy Kolobe Bruce Maboya, who paid tribute to Palesa, advised women in abusive relationships to leave before it’s too late.
She wrote,

A Nigerian mother of two who left her marriage of eight years has taken to social media to celebrate her seven-year divorce anniversary.
The young woman identified as @iphieajike on Twitter expressed her joy at having survived the marriage and reflected on how apprehensive she felt about her future when she divorced her partner.
She said she moved out of her matrimonial house with her two children seven years ago after divorcing her spouse.

Outrage as mother is captured brutalizing her 2-year-old daughter in disturbing video (Watch)
A viral video of a 22-year-old mother brutalizing her 2-year-old daughter has sparked outrage online.
In the disturbing clip, lasting one minute and fourteen seconds, the woman is seen striking her undressed youngster with a pair of slippers—she beats the toddler until she falls off a basin.
She continuously hits the baby with a slipper on the arms, head, legs, back, and hands from when the baby is on the ground to when she gets back to the basin. The 2-year-old yelled in pain, but her loud cry for mercy fell on her mother’s deaf ears.
The incident is said to have happened at Busula A in Katikamu Sub County in Luweero District, Uganda.
The video, which was recorded by the concerned neighbor and shared on social media, has since led to wide-spread condemnation and uproar from members of the public.
In an updated development, the woman in the viral video identified as Dorothy Nabulime has been arrested. The mother of three was arrested on Saturday, September 3.
Confirming Nabulime’s arrest in a statement on Monday September 5, police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, said further investigations have indicated that Nabulime has three children aged four years, two years and four months all from different men.
“She is a mother of three children from three separate relationships and could have been affected for having three failed relationships. Her first born of four years was from her relationship with Christopher Kivumbi, the second born of two years that she was victimizing was from a second relationship with a man she has refused to disclose. The third child of four months is from her third relationship with Isaac Male.
“We believe that her anger towards the two year old child is transferred from the broken relationship with the father in the second relationship whom she has concealed. We believe this because the other two children of four years and four months are treated very well by her unlike the two year old girl from the second relationship.” Fred Enanga said.
Enanga said police got concerned after the video went viral in which the suspect showed no sympathy and love towards the child as is expected of a mother
He noted that after her arrest, Nabulime is set to be arraigned before court in Luweero to answer charges of torture.

The Student Union Government of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Anambra, has reacted to the viral video of people said to be students of the institution having sex during a party in Ifite Awka, Anambra State,
The video from the sex party which held at the pool side of a popular hotel close to the school caused quite a stir on social media.
In the video, the alleged students of Unizik, are seen getting down in the full glare of all those who were present at the venue.
An alumnus of the university who shared the video on Twitter wrote, “It is very unfortunate that the school environment which most of us graduated from is turning into something else. I bet that’s why I couldn’t live in Ifite Awka during my University days.” Watch here
UNIZIK’s student body has now released an official statement denying their involvement in the controversial party. They strongly condemned the intent of the sex party and said the institution is known for moral decency.
The letter reads,
“This is to inform the public that the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and the University have nothing to do with the event that happened on 3rd of September, 2022, at Wintess Garden, and in fact it is not a students program.
“The “Night Wear Party” which featured a live porn of people engaging in sexual acts, is morally wrong and condemned by the Students Union Government Executives, is being organised around students residential area.
“In conclusion, “The Night Wear Party” is a personal business of some show promoters in Awka, and has nothing to do with the University or our students. We are known for moral decency, as we all study to be certified ‘in Character and in Learning.’”

Nigerian man finds a long snake hiding in his air conditioner (video)
A video making rounds on social media captures the long snake a man found cooling off in his air conditioner.
The snake was trying to gain entry into his house through the AC but was stopped by the condenser fan which was in motion.
The blade could be heard hitting the snake as it wigged it’s long, slender body and tried to escape the sharp edge of the fan.
After the snake had been weakened and fatally injured by the blade, the man opened up the compartment and removed the snake and thereafter set it ablaze.

In other news, a trending video on social media shows the horrifying moment a 17-year-old boy was hit by moving train while he was shooting for a video near the railway tracks at the Waddepally tank near the Kazipet railway station on Sunday.
The Teenager was identified as Ch Akshay Raj, an Intermediate first year student from Waddepally in the city.
Raj was rushed to the government-run MGM Hospital by the railway police in an ambulance after the incident. He was then moved to a private hospital by his relatives. Doctors said that he suffered fractures in a leg and also sustained injuries on the face. He is said to be out of danger.

Nigerian man narrates how lady ghosted him after discovering he’s been using one phone since 2018
A Nigerian man has taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to narrate how a lady cut off communication with him after learning that he’s been using a phone since 2018.
According to him, he had told the lady about still using a phone he bought in 2018, and it didn’t seem to sit well with her, so she ghosted him.
Speaking further, he disclosed that he still has some trousers he wore in university.
“Nigerian women like Peter Obi until a man like Peter Obi is asking them out. I told this babe that I’ve been using the same phone since 2018 and she ghosted me. I did not even tell her the best part. I still have some of my trousers from uni.” His tweet read.

In other news, a couple of Nigerian men have taken to microblogging platform, Twitter to share the reasons they stopped talking to women they were at some point interested in.
The tweets come not long after women were also asked to give the reasons why they stopped talking to some men. While some ladies gave reasons bordering on height, financial status and others, the reasons men gave were rather hilarious.
A gentleman revealed that a lady got him a birthday cake but when she delivered it to him, it was already halved because she’d given the other half to her family members.

Boluwatife Balogun, the first child of popular Nigerian music superstar, Wizkid, is now a big boy and started his first day of high school on Monday, September 5.
His proud mother, Shola Ogudu, took to her Instagram page to share the news and expressed unreserved joy and fulfillment at his growth.
She shared pictures with her son, who turned 11 in May, and said it was time for him to show the world his talents and thirst for knowledge.

Media personality, Maria Okan, has once again taken to social media to refute claims that she collected money from her rumoured baby daddy, Olamide, to abort the pregnancy of her daughter, Asaiah Monifé Maria Okanrende.
This comes hours after she went online to clear the air on the rumour, revealing that no one gave her any money to procure an abortion.
She also hinted at being a single parent who is raising her child alone without the help of her daughter’s father. ICYMI
Back-story: news made rounds three years ago that she was pregnant for her rumoured ex, Nigerian rapper Olamide, and he gave her money to relocate abroad and terminate the pregnancy.
Maria has now come out to dispel the rumour, stating that she was never offered money, neither did she receive money from anyone to ‘murder her child’.
She added that she doesn’t understand those criticizing her for choosing to keep the child, instead of terminating her.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning, she tweeted,
“Good morning. I was never OFFERED, I never ASKED, nor did I RECEIVE money to murder a child. I heard that story for the 1st time when you all did – when I was 8 months pregnant. You say I made the wrong choice to carry life, and I should’ve opted for murder? Pele. I love motherhood.”

Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, is currently receiving heat on social media after she shared her thoughts on BBNaija level-up lovebirds, Bella and Sheggz’s relationship.
Like many viewers of the reality TV show, Toke Makinwa took to her verified Twitter handle on Monday to share her take on Bella and Sheggz’s controversial relationship.
The six-week relationship between Bella and Sheggz, who met and began dating during the first week in the house, has drawn a variety of opinions due to their frequent arguments and petty disputes.
Taking to her Twitter handle on Monday morning after the couple patched things up moments after breaking up, Toke averred that they indeed deserve each other.
“At this point is it safe to say that They deserve each other?” She tweeted.
A Twitter user then responded that Bella needed rescuing from the relationship.
Toke replied to the tweet, stating that Bella is enjoying and loving the attention from Sheggz.

Her comments, however, didn’t sit well with social media users who berated her and reminded her of how she stayed in an abusive marriage for 13 years.

Scary moment lady caused heavily pregnant bride to fall at her wedding (Video)
A video showing the horrifying moment a female wedding guest caused a heavily pregnant bride to fall to the ground at her wedding is currently making the rounds online.
In the viral video, the couple stood on an elevated platform as different guests, including a curvaceous young lady, joined them in a dance.
While dancing with the couple, the curvaceous lady grabbed the pregnant lady, who looked uneasy, by both hands and started coercing her into dancing.
She then suddenly let go of the heavily pregnant bride’s hands, forcing her to collapse to the ground on her back.
Social media users reacted furiously to the clip, with many speculating that the bride was purposefully knocked to the ground by the lady.
