A 35-year-old lady, Jatau Lydia Lami, who was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for drug trafficking claims she wanted to raise N5m ransom to pay bandits as she blamed her action on them.
The mother of three was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for attempting to export 1,700 tablets of Tramadol 225mg concealed in her luggage to Istanbul, Turkey via a Turkish Airline flight on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
The suspect hails from Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State and lives in Istanbul, Turkey with her family.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, August 7, stated that the suspect blamed her action on pressure to raise N5million ransom to free her mother from the captivity of bandits who kidnapped her since June.

Big Brother Naija season 7 housemate, Beauty Tukura, got disqualified from the reality show.
The 43rd Miss Nigeria, who had been issued a strike for exhibiting violent behaviour and attempting to fight with a fellow housemate, got a double strike on Sunday evening following her Saturday night fight with her love interest, Groovy.
Her misbehaviour during the Saturday night party caused her disqualification.
The beauty queen got into a brawl with her love interest, Groovy, on Saturday night, for dancing with fellow housemate Chomzy during their party.
Moments before the live eviction show on Sunday, Biggie gathered the housemates in the lounge and played the clip of what had transpired the night before for the rest of the housemates.
Biggie then announced that Beauty was disqualified and ordered to leave the house immediately for violence.
Beauty spent only 15 days in the house.

Meanwhile, Beauty Tukura a few days ago showed that she’s very territorial and would not watch another woman flirt with her man.

Popular Danish humanitarian worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén and her team have rescued a young boy who was accused of being a witch, kiling his mother, inflicting his grandmother with sickness.
According to Lovén, the boy identified as Joseph was being tortured to reveal what he wasn’t and it was a very emotional case when they got wind of the distress condition.

In the early hours of Sunday, August 7th, 2022, reports went viral that popular socialite, Paschal Pascal Okechukwu, known better as Cubana Chiefpriest narrowly escaped death when unknown gunmen attacked his convoy.
The blogger who first reported the news claimed the attack happened in Imo State and “unknown gun men” were behind it.
Netizen’s rightfully began panicking, especially those in Imo State as they feared the worse that the insecurity was not getting any better.

A Nigerian man identified as Ifeanyi Odieze Ezenagu has landed himself in Police net for allegedly robbing six women of their belongings.
According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the 34-year-old suspect robbed the women of their 3 iPhones 12, 2 iPhones 11 Pro Max, 1 iPhone XR, one Nokia phone, one wristwatch and one gold necklace, with a total value of N2,368,000, after he lured them to a hotel, where he laced their drinks, resulting in their falling into a deep slumber.
According to investigations, the suspect has no fixed address but he lures women to different hotels where he dr*gs and r@bs them clean. Investigations further reveal that he has r@bbed over thirty women since he ventured into this crime.
However, the Police spokesperson revealed that the stolen items have all been recovered from the suspect before he could sell them off. He added that investigations were ongoing to apprehend receivers of stolen goods he works with.

A Canada-based Nigerian lady has in a video trending online accused her fellow Nigerians residing in Canada of being mean and wicked.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has called on Nigerian parents to appeal to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to call off their lingering strike.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo stated that the government had done its best and appealed to parents whose wards are affected by the ongoing strike to beg ASUU.
“Should we go and borrow to pay N1.2 trillion yearly? You cannot allow one sector of the economy to hold you by the jugular and then blackm@il you to go and borrow N1.2 trillion for overheads when our total income would be about N6.1 trillion. And you have roads to build, health centres to build, other sectors to take care of.
I will tell the parents, everybody to go and beg ASUU like the President said the other time, those who know them should appeal to their sense of patriotism. The nation can not ground to a halt because we want to take care of the demands of ASUU.
The moment ASUU went on strike we intervened. What is the manner again beyond that? The moment they declared the strike even when the strike began, we called them to a meeting. What manner is more than that? It’s not that we left them, to go on strike first and we were sleeping. And three months later we said okay can we start talking. The moment they declared, we immediately called them and said let us start talking. And as the talk started they still went on strike.” He said.
The academic union embarked on a 30-day warning strike on February 14 over the federal government’s failure to honour agreements signed by both parties, and the strike has lingered to this date. The union is demanding the withdrawal of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, and the adoption of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution, UTAS. They equally seek the University Peculiar Payroll and Payment System, U3PS or UPPPS for the non-academic unions, among others.
Former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, has narrated how his 7-year-old relative miraculously spoke for the first time.
Okupe, who shared the testimony on his Facebook page, stated that the little girl had never spoken since she was born.
According to him, the 7-year old attended the monthly praise and worship session in his home with her dad in April, and shortly after the session, his little relative, who had never spoken a word before, began conversing in English with the other kids.

Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, in Kwara State have arrested a man identified as Ayodeji Arowolo, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 19-year-old daughter.
Arowolo, a 55-year-old security guard, was paraded alongside two other suspects at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin on Friday, August 5, 2022.
Spokesman of the corps, Mr Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said the suspect was reported to have been sexually molesting his daughter for the past twelve years since she was eight.
In his words;
“The ministry and the command’s Gender Unit are collaborating together. It was a good Samaritan that reported the case to the Ministry of Social Welfare before the case was brought here. The man was said to have been molesting the girl while she was seven years old.”
Mr. Arowolo, the suspect, was also interviewd by newsmen and he admitted to have committed the crime but he vehemently blamed the devil for his actions.
Popular Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, otherwise known as Kizz Daniel, has reportedly been summoned by the police for questioning.
It was gathered that the Buga hitmaker confiscated a bus belonging to a dry cleaning company that he had hired to wash his clothes after the company allegedly ruined the clothes, which were reportedly worth millions of naira.
Kizz Daniel reportedly seized the bus on grounds that the N14 million worth of clothes he gave the company to clean were damaged, LIB reports.
The police invited Kizz Daniel for questioning after the owners of the bus reported the matter to the police.
The musician would be available for interrogation on Tuesday, August 9, according to his lawyer, who contacted the police on Friday, August 5. KiZZ Daniel’s lawyer also confirmed that the seized bus has since been returned to its owners.

Paul Okoye ‘Rude Boy’ of P-Square music group has taken to his social media page to define what men really want.
Paul Okoye, who is currently going through a divorce proceeding from his estranged wife, Anita, stated that men don’t care if one loves them or not. According to Paul, all men care about is making money and having peace.

A man just wqants to make money and have peace….He doesn’t care wether you love him or not.
Before going to bed, he thinks, calculates etc.
Wakes up in the morning, strategize on how to achieve at the end of the day.

Last month, Paul’s estranged Wife, Anita, revealed why she is divorcing her husband.
The singer met Anita in 2004 during their undergraduate days at the University of Abuja. They married on March 22, 2014, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Their marriage has produced three children: Andre — born in 2013 — and the twins, Nathan and Nadia, born in 2017.
However, in a surprise move, Anita filed for divorce in August 2021 citing “irreconcilable difference” as her reason.
Pastor Blessed, the husband of gospel artiste, Mercy Chinwo, has said there is an anointing that can move a lady from a ”sister zone to a wife”.
The Pastor was speaking in reaction to the funny drama that had happened on social media shortly after they announced their engagement – Recall that Nigerians dug out a video where he was seen referring to Mercy as his sister sometime back.
Mercy shared a video from their wedding introduction where her husband jokingly said there is an anointing that can make a lady move from the ”sister zone” to becoming a wife.

Men of the Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun, have intercepted two trucks conveying 151 suspected invaders to some states in the Southwest.
The corp discovered the suspects while conducting a stop and search operation around Sango, Akure/Ado road in the early hours of Friday, August 5.
The suspects including five women, who were coming from Kastina, Kano and Jigawa states, hid between bags of beans and rice inside the trucks making an inroad into the Southwest.
After a rigorous search, dangerous charms and pictures of combat trills were found on them.
Confirming the incident, the State Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said the trucks were intercepted following an intelligence report that terrorists were heading to the Southwest.
“We intercepted two trucks conveying 151 people who were cleverly concealed behind bags of rice and beans in a way that one may not know that this number of people were tucked in the trucks.
“Upon interception, we asked of their destinations. Some said Akure, while others said Osogbo in Osun State. Although, we have not completed profiling them, as none of them has an idea of what they were going to do or their mission. All they were able to tell us is that they entered the vehicle and came to Ondo State.
“While searching the vehicles, we saw 10 bikes and various dangerous charms. If we check and we do not find anything on them, as long as they don’t have anybody that is ready to take custody of them in Ondo state, we will send them back to their various states.
“Some of them claimed they are from Katsina, Kano and Jigawa states, but on how they came together, they said they couldn’t figure it out, but that they were conveyed on the truck down to Akure in Ondo State. This, however, is not a good sign, following the security warning in the South West states
“While respecting their rights as Nigerians, yet, we are not sure of what they are here for, we still feel that while travelling, anyone should have a mission and destination at where he or she is going to.” Adeleye added.
A Nigerian lady, identified as Glory Smart Emenuwe, from Ezhionum community in Delta State, has narrated how her own mother attempted to kill her for no reason.
In a video interview with a local news outlet, Ukwani Trumpet, the 21-year-old lady recounted how her mother chopped off her two hands and slashed her face with a matchet.
Glory, who disclosed that the incident occurred in 2013 when she was 12-years-old, said her mother had escorted her to urinate at the back of the house at night when she attacked her with the weapon and disfigured her for life.
The young lady said she doesn’t know the reason behind her mother’s action, but noted that she’s deceased now.

“What happened to me could be likened to an accident because I never expected it. However, it was my mother that chopped off my hands and slashed my face.
On that fateful day, while I was still very young, I woke up one night wanting to urinate, so my father asked my mother to lead me with a torchlight to the back of our house where I could urinate.
While I squatted to urinate, I didn’t know my mother had a machete in her hand. The next thing I remember was that she descended on me with the machete and I fell down. While I was down, she continued to cut me all over my body and I was screaming. It was then that my father rushed out and collected the machete from her and raised an alarm, which attracted the neighbours.
Unfortunately, by the time my father rushed out, my mother had already accomplished her intention. My father wanted to use the machete on her too but was stopped by the neighbours. Afterwards, my father got my mother arrested by the police. However, she’s late now. The incident happened in Edo State in 2013.”
Glory, who said she has only completed her primary school education due to her condition, is requesting for financial assistance to start up a business to fend for herself or further her education.
Residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have uncovered a kidnapper’s den opposite the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in the Central Business District.
It was gathered that the kidnapper’s hideout is located in a thick bush off the expressway.
Security officers reportedly broke into the hiding place and arrested one of the alleged kidnappers.

This comes after over 50 children were rescued from an underground apartment in a church in the Valentino area of Ondo state.
The children who were reportedly kept in the underground apartment of the church for trafficking, were discovered and rescued on Friday evening, July 2.
The pastor of the church and other accomplices have been arrested by the state police command.
The rescued children were seen in a viral video being driven to the police station by security operatives in a patrol van.
In the now viral clip, a voice could be heard saying, “They are kidnapped children recovered in the underground cell of a church in the Valentino Area of Ondo. The pastor and some members of the church have been arrested and were also in the patrol van of the police. “
The command’s public relations officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the victims have been taken to the police headquarters in Akure.
There was pandemonium at the home of a clergyman after he walked in on his wife in bed with the assistant pastor of his church.
A video that was shared online showed the pastor confronting his wife and his assistant as he questioned why they allowed themselves to be used by the devil.
The visibly heartbroken man told people who were present at the scene how much he loved his wife and trusted the assistant pastor, whom he gave shelter in his home and made him his assistant.
The assistant pastor went on his knees and pleaded as he blamed the devil for his action. The pastor’s wife also knelt down and could also be heard asking those present to beg her husband on her behalf.

In other news, a young Nigerian man has recounted how he was allegedly harassed and extorted by men of the Federal Special Weapons and Tactics (FSWAT) at the Adeniji Central Police Station.
According to the young man, a music publicist simply identified as Boluwatife, the officers stopped him in Ikoyi while on his way to Lekki on Thursday night, August 4.
He claimed the officers took him to their office in Adeniji Adele where they extorted N150,000 from him and also made him do a video claiming he was an internet fraudster, popularly known as Yahoo Boy.
A Twitter user, identified as @ayomitidipupo, has caused a buzz on the platform after he said Nigerians are scared of their local gods but like their foreign counterpart.
Using a Yoruba diety, Sango, as an example of a local god and Thor, a fictional movie character, as an example of a foreign god, the Twitter user averred that Nigerians have been brainwashed to hate themselves and love their enslavers.
He tweeted,
“Nigerians are scared of Yemoja but love little Mermaid. They say Sango is evil but Thor is their Hero. They adore storm but don’t want nothing to do with Oya. They are in love with Aquaman but hate Olokun We have been indoctrinated to hate ourselves and love our enslavers.”
