Her name is not on the Roll of Lawyers – NBA disowns disqualified BBNaija housemate, Beauty Tukura

First Vice President of the Nigeria Bar Association, John Aikpokpo-Martins, has dismissed claims that disqualified BBNaija S7 housemate, Beauty Turkura, is a lawyer.

According to him, the former beauty queen’s name did not come up in the Roll of Legal Practitioners in the Supreme Court and the Nigerian Bar Association.

This comes after Beauty Tukura, a former housemate of the show and an acclaimed lawyer, got disqualified from the reality show for breaching the rules of engagement on the show.

His full statement reads:

“RE: BEAUTY TAKURA, LAWYER AND FORMER MISS NIGERIA DISQUALIFIED FROM BBNAIJA SEASON 7.

“My attention and I guess of a large number of lawyers in Nigeria have been drawn to news reports that one Beauty Tukura, who is claimed and/or claims to be a lawyer participated and also got ignominiously disqualified from the on-going Big Brother Naija reality show “for throwing her wig and glasses at” a co-participant in the show after a party.

“These reports have been very embarrassing to most members of the legal profession and may in all reasonable probability bring the profession into disrepute if found to be true. A quick check of the databases of the Roll of Legal Practitioners kept in the Supreme Court and the Nigerian Bar Association failed to reveal the name “Beauty Tukura” to be on the Supreme Court Roll or to be a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

“However, I hereby appeal to anyone who may be aware of her true name assuming we may have gotten her real name wrong to reach out to me.

“Thank you.”

“I simply just don’t want to be the one that always apologise.

“I’ve been a shity father and a shity husband and shity baby daddy. I have no excuses.

“I just want to do right by my wife, and my kids and their moms and my mom and all families and my manager and friends.

“I beg y’all to pls just face me and cancel me anyhow.

“I’ve been a star for so long that my bulletproof vest is worn-out.

“I’m not quitting or suicidal or giving up. I just want to go back to my default settings and denounce my role model status and make up lost time with my kids and give y’all music that will make u remember and understand why they call me 2BABA.”

In the second post, he shared a video of his wife Annie Idibia and wrote,

Horniman Museum in London agrees to return looted collection of 72 treasured artefacts back to Nigeria

Horniman Museum in London agrees

Horniman Museum in London have agreed to return a looted collection of 72 treasured artefacts, including 12 Benin Bronzes, back to Nigeria.

The museum said the artefacts, which were stolen from Nigeria by British troops in 1897, will be transferred to the Nigerian government because it is the right thing to do.

Horniman Museum in London agrees

Confirming this decision on August 5, the chairwoman of the Trustees of the Horniman Museum and Gardens in Forest Hill, south-east London, Eve Salomon, said,

“The evidence is very clear that these objects were acquired through force, and external consultation supported our view that it is both moral and appropriate to return their ownership to Nigeria.”

The artefacts includes a brass cockerel altar piece, ivory and brass ceremonial objects, brass bells, and others.

Horniman Museum in London agrees

This comes after the Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) asked that the artifacts be returned in January 2022.

Both parties – NCMM and the Horniman trustees – are currently in talks about the formal transfer of ownership and the chances of retaining some artefacts on loan for display, research and education.

The director general of the commission, Professor Abba Tijani, said,

“We very much welcome this decision by the trustees of the Horniman Museum and Gardens.

“Following the endorsement by the Charity Commission, we look forward to a productive discussion on loan agreements and collaborations between the national commission for museums and monuments and the Horniman.”

“It’s very rare for a woman to have fake love for a man” – Reno Omokri

Nigerian lawyer and author, Reno Omokri, has argued that it’s extremely uncommon for a woman to feign her love for a man.

The former presidential aide, who made this assertion in a post via his Instagram page, opined that men who think women have fake love for them don’t have money and their thoughts are clouded by their poverty mentality.

According to him, while there’s fake love, the vast majority of women have either real or true love.

In his words,

“It is very, very, rare for a woman to have fake love for a man. Men who think that way usually don’t have money, therefore poverty has affected their mentality. While there is fake love, the vast majority of women have either real or true love. But there is a big difference between real love and true love. If you have money, a girl may develop real love for you. She is not faking it. It is genuine. However, if you become broke, that real love may fade.

True love is any love that is not facilitated by money! True love is ignited by personality or body. Real love is ignited by money. It does not matter how the ignition starts the engine, as long as the car get to its destination! As long as there is affection, you don’t need perfection!”

Tacha reacts

“It was very rude for Tacha to say the housemates escorted her into the house.“You left, you were not better! You were disqualified!”

Well, when the seventh edition of Big Brother Naija began recently, Kim Oprah took to social media to announce that she’s rooting for Beauty.

”So Kim laughed at Tacha for being disqualified only for her friend to suffer the same fate years later

“The first shock that hits those arriving Lagos from an International flight is the smell of the toilet at the airport” – Filmmaker Charles Novia writes

Charles Novia writes

Nigerian filmmaker, Charles Novia has claimed that the first shock that hits those arriving Lagos from an international flight is the pungent smell of the toilet at the airport.

Taking to Facebook to share his experience at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the filmmaker bewailed the state of the airport and pointed out that the immigration officials also dress shabbily.

According to him, the state of the airport can be likened to that of Nigeria because things are equally ‘antiseptically shitty’ in the country.

Charles Novia writes

Read his full post below,

“For those arriving Lagos from an International flight at the MMA International wing, the first shock which hits you as you step out of the plane is the smell of the toilets at the airport.

A pungent smell of shit and antiseptic smacks your nostrils. As you walk towards the immigration area, angry at the state of the airport having just come from a country with world class airport facilities, the next shock would be tardily dressed immigration officials (at least the day I arrived from my trip I saw a couple of them wearing slippers and smudged uniforms). That airport in Lagos, the old one, is the symbolism of the state of the nation right now.

Antiseptically shitty.

I don’t think Abuja Airport is like that as I have traveled through Abuja Airport on international flights a few times but the Lagos Airport actually takes the piss, all pun intended too.”

This was probably one of the most intense encounters I’ve ever had. The devil is after destiny partners and relationships.”

In a follow-up post shared exactly a year after on Sunday, August 7 2022, Lufile stated that the devil lost the battle against him and his now-wife.

“Exactly a year ago I was experiencing tremendous spiritual warfare in the dating stage with Erin. I had crazy visitations and demons that would try to stop me from pursuing her and praying for her. We went from dating to married real fast! The devil lost! We overcame.” he wrote.

“I can’t do this anymore 😢 I give up. 50k data in a week?? I miss days we use 1GB in a month please. What’s this daylight robbery 😭😭help!”

Some netizens didn’t believe her claims of spending that amount weekly and accused her of ‘capping’ on the internet.

Responding to the backlash, Papaya explained that she spends N10k on data daily and uses internet everytime.

She wrote,

“Lmaoo. Because I didn’t say 50k in 5 days? Mtchew. I use 10k every single day. I use internet 24/7, how much do you expect me to use😂 2k? Please please, y’all act ignorant blindly everytime on this app. Who doesn’t know 100k is the new 10k lately. Kmt abeg!”

In other news, popular US-based Kenyan pastor, Dr. KN Jacob has shared his opinion about men who cheat on their partners.

According to the motivational speaker, a man can cheat on a woman and still love her with every breath of his life.

“If he loves me, he wouldn’t cheat on me! WRONG. A man can cheat on you and he still loves you with every breath of his life. We can debate on this oxymoron until thy kingdom come,” he wrote.

“From a woman’s perspective, you can’t love me and hurt me at the same time. If you love me, you don’t share love with other women. You shouldn’t even notice other beauties

“From a man’s perspective, love and sex are not synonymous. Sex is for pleasure, not necessarily love and intimacy. A man can sleep with a woman but his heart is totally locked by the love of his life

“Real men know what I’m saying is the truth. But of course, we have plastic men who’ll come here breathing fire to defend the feminine perspective to score points with their wife or girlfriend

“A man can be ‘committed’ but not disciplined. Another paradox. That a man had an affair doesn’t mean he wants to destroy his marriage. Discipline lets many guys down. Stolen waters often taste sweeter

“The solution to this old-age dilemma is being fully accountable to your wife. So long as you don’t want her to question your whereabouts, you’ll indulge in hanky-panky.”

“I got married to my friend but after we got married, we stopped being friends” – Nigerian man shares

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to narrate how his marriage almost fell apart shortly after getting married to his wife.

The young man simply identified as Chisom in a Twitter thread, admitted that he married his best friend, but soon after their nuptials, things started to go south between them. His wife, who used to be his closest friend, seized being his friend.

According to him, his change in attitude almost ruined their union until they sought the help from a marriage counselor who assisted them in restoring peace in their home.

Sharing his experience on Twitter, he wrote,

“I got married to my friend but after we got married, we stopped being friends…My wife is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Apart from sharing the same value system, she understands herself and me a lot! But, no matter how good you and your spouse are, there are principles that when disobeyed, your marriage will be a mess.

“My wife is the kind of person that confronts someone when they do something she doesn’t like. She doesn’t pretend. On the other hand, I can swallow stuff because ‘I don’t like wahala/disagreements’. Over the years, even before we got married, when my wife does something I don’t like, I often didn’t talk about it because I wasn’t in the mood for an argument. Unknown to me, the tiny hurts I thought I let go of were piling up somewhere in my heart and before I knew it, I became resentful toward her.”
