Police confirms singer, Portable’s driver crushed a motorcyclist to death in Ogun state (video)
The Ogun State Police Command have confirmed that the driver of popular singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable, has crushed a motorcyclist to death in Ogun State.
The incident occurred barely 24 hours after the controversial singer was summoned for questioning by the Police for mobilizing his boys to deal with his former Disc Jockey, DJ Chicken.
It was gathered that Portable sent his driver on an errand with his Range Rover on Tuesday, June 21, when he hit the motorcyclist at Iyana Ilogbo along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.
Sadly, the victim died while he was being rushed to the hospital for quick medical intervention.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said it was an accident.
He said;
“The accident occurred at Ilogbo area in Ogun state where one of Portable’s aides hit a motorcyclist and the man did not survive as he died on his way to the hospital.
“We are not sure if the driver in question was drunk or not.”
Portable was celebrating the naming ceremony of his second son when the tragic accident occurred.

Singer, Portable weds baby mama, Zainab Badmus at child’s naming ceremony (video)
Congratulations are in order for fast-rising Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, as he ties the knot with his baby mama, Zainab Badmus.
It was a double celebration for the father of three on Tuesday, June 21, as he finally married his baby mama during their child’s naming ceremony.
Portable and Zainab welcomed their second child together last week, and the naming ceremony was held in Ogun state yesterday.
However, during the naming ceremony, the Zazu Zeh star also tied the knot with his longtime lover.
In videos from the ceremony that surfaced online, the couple, who donned matching outfits, are seen exchanging wedding bands in the presence of Islamic clerics, who blessed the union, their families, and well-wishers.

In other news, the Ogun State Police Command has instructed music artiste, Habeeb Okikiola A.K.A Portable to report himself to any of the stations in the state or face arrest after a video serving rounds online showed the singer telling some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.
A statement which was released by the spokesperson of the state police command says the incident was said to have taken place somewhere within Ogun State about two days ago.
“Such unruly and violent behavior is not only barbaric, but unbecoming of somebody who supposed to be a role model for the youths and therefore should not be tolerated.
In view of this, the Command is using this medium to advise Okikiola Habeeb a.k.a Portable to report himself at the nearest police station in Ogun State, failure of which his arrest will be ordered.
The flagrant display of impunity by portable in the viral video is condemnable and if not checked, it will send a wrong signal to the youths who are looking up to him as a role model.” the statement read
Opeyemi revealed that jungle justice has no place in the law and whoever indulges in it must be made to feel the weight of the law, no matter the status of such person.
In the video that’s been shared online, Portable is seen ordering young men to assault the victim for reaching out to his wife to advise him to send all the boys around him away.

Late Gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu to be buried in Abia this Saturday
Late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Abia State.
According the information on her obituary poster, a night of worship will hold in Abuja on Thursday, June 23 while a Night of Prayer will hold in Isochi, Umunoci in Abia state the following day. The ‘Ekwueme’ singer will be interred in her father’s compound on Saturday, June 25.
The late gospel singer, popular for her “Ekweme” hit track, died on Friday, April 8th after she was allegedly in a coma for five days prior to her death. Close relatives, friends, and children of the deceased all alleged that her husband, Peter, subjected her to domestic violence.
Mr Peter Nwachukwu has denied the allegation and claims she died of lung cancer.
“Let me tell the whole world, I have suffered a lot. I have been abandoned. What killed my wife was cancer of the lungs; I didn’t hit my wife. Cancer of the lungs killed my wife, Osinachi Nwachukwu, so I’m suffering for what I do not know”. The-father-of-four said.

Yahoo Boy to wash toilet for eight months in Osun as punishment for Cybercrime
The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, June 20, 2022, secured five convictions before the Federal and State High Courts in Ibadan, Oyo State and Osogbo, Osun State respectively.
A press release signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, reveals that one Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, a final year student of Transport Planning Management at Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, was sentenced to eight months community service for fraudulent impersonation.
The others are Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide, Lawal Samuel Morenikeji, Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun, and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek. The statement said they were convicted on separate one-count charges each for offences relating to cyber-fraud. Upon their arraignments, they pleaded “guilty” to the charges preferred against them by the EFCC.
Given their pleas, the prosecution counsel urged the courts to convict and sentence them accordingly.
Consequently, Justice Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State convicted and sentenced Oluwasegunfunmi, to eight months of community service for fraudulent impersonation, contrary to section 22 (2) (b) (1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act, 2015. The sentence requires him to clean the toilets at Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, Osun State.
Also, the court ordered that the convict’s attendance register be kept by the School Principal and submitted on completion of his term.
Similarly, Justice Iyabo Yerima of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan, sentenced Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide to six months of community service for obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
In the same vein, Justice Omolara Adeyemi of the Oyo State High Court convicted and sentenced Lawal Samuel Morenikeji to six months of community service; Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek to one week of community service as their offences violate Section 484 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The courts ordered that the convicts restitute their victims and forfeit all items recovered from them to the Federal Government.

The management of controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, has tendered a public apology to the organizers of Headies Awards 2022 after the singer threatened his co-nominees.
It would be recalled that in May, Portable who was nominated for two award categories ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’, threatened to kill whoever wins the awards he was nominated for.

Mutilated bodies of Kenyan Twitter influencer and three of his friends found dumped in forest
A popular Twitter influencer, Frank Obegi, and three of his friends, Elijah Omeka, Mose Nyachae, and Fred Obare Mokaya, have been brutally murdered in Kenya.
It was gathered that the bodies of Obegi, Elijah Omeka, and Mose Nyachae were found dumped in a forest in Lari, Kiambu County, on Sunday, June 19, while that of Fred Obare Mokaya was found in Magadi, Kajiado County.
Three of the victims were extensively mangled, and it appears they were killed by strangulation and had their private parts cut, according to Lari OCPD, Anderson Furaha.
“One of them had been partly eaten by wild animals. Their private parts had been amputated and it seems they died through strangulation. They had no identification documents and were naked,” Furaha said.
The four friends were reported to have gone missing between Monday and Wednesday last week from Kasarani, Nairobi County, before the gruesome discovery was made.
Family sources told Nation.africa that two of the men went to file a missing persons report following the disappearance of one of their friends, only for them to disappear too.
After one body was discovered on Saturday and three more on Sunday, residents in Lari alerted authorities.
“We suspect that the four were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped within this area,” Philip Kamau.All the four bodies had deep cuts to the neck, and chopped private parts. We are now scared because this is new to this area”, a resident said.
Furaha revealed that the police have begun an investigation into the case in order to find the killers.
Media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu marvels at the sharp memory of his new ‘girlfriend’ during a trip
An elephant was jokingly ‘betrothed’ to popular media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during a leisure trip to an African country.
Ebuka took to his Twitter page to share a video of his encounter with the elephant in an apparent reaction to the conversation about the incredible memory of the animal.
This comes after an elephant killed a woman in India and reportedly returned to her funeral to trample on her corpse.
Reacting, Ebuka shared a video from a trip he went on with his colleague and best friend, Banky W, to showcase how sharp the memory of an elephant is.
In the video, the tour guide asked for the name of the sensational TV host and asked him to stand at a spot, then he threw a face cap at the elephant and asked her to give it to “Ebuka”.
Interestingly, the elephant picked up the cap with her trunk and handed it over to Ebuka which left him and other spectators stunned.

Police detain Abuja lady who raised false kidnap alarm on Twitter
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has detained Ameerah Sufiyanu, the Twitter user who raised a false kidnap alarm on the platform last week.
Amira had, in a series of tweets last Tuesday, alleged that she and 17 other victims were abducted at gunpoint from different parts of Abuja by men in uniform and driven off in a van and later separated into two groups.
She also tweeted the locations of the alleged kidnappers, claiming they were unaware that she was on a phone.
The police quickly swung into action to rescue the alleged victims, but later disclosed in a statement that they had found Ameera and debunked the alleged kidnapping.
The lady then took to Twitter on Monday, June 20, to apologize to the general public and the Nigerian police force for raising a false alarm.
According to her, she had intentionally taken herself out of her house to those locations and starved herself for four days.
<em>”I intentionally took myself out of our house, went to these locations, entered bushes and dehydrated and starved myself for four days just like that, there was no kidnapping, nothing at all, I truly apologize and please pray for me. I Need it.” She wrote in part. Read here.
However, the FCT police command has now confirmed that Ameerah is in police custody as an investigation is ongoing.

Actor Yul Edochie’s first wife, May reacts after a fan asked her to put up her account number for crowdfunding
May, the first wife of controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has reacted after a concerned fan asked her to put up an account number for crowdfunding.
The mother of four received ample support from Nigerians on social media after her husband, Yul, announced his marriage to a second wife. While netizens berated the actor and his new wife, many also trooped to May’s Instagram page to declare their love and support for her.
Recently, an Instagram follower commented on her latest Instagram post, stating that many people want to help her (financially) but don’t know how to get the money to her.
The follower added that she had previously reached out to Tonto Dikeh for an account number where they could donate for May but never got a response. She went on to suggest that May share an account number online for crowdfunding.
The fan wrote,
“Queen May alot of people wanted to support you financially but they just didnt know how to send funds to you. l even reached out to tonto if she could post an account number on her page so people can send there donations because people love and trust her and we know she will deliver the funds to you but king tonto never responded back may if you cud put an account number here trust me you will be blown away how much fans are itching to support you pls think about it we love you May”.
May, touched by the kind thought, simply thanked the fan in response.

“I am not a hater of the church” – Thief leaves note after stealing from church
A thief who broke into a church and carted away church instruments left a touching note explaining his actions.
The thief is said to have raided the Pentecost-English Assembly in Bogoso, in the Western Region of Ghana, and carted away two amplifiers, a drive, and other valuables after members had closed for the evening service.
According to local news outlets, church members returned the next day to find the auditorium had been plundered, as well as the note that the robber had left in the church.
In the note, the thief asked for the blessings of God while reminding the church that it was only Jesus who assisted a thief on the cross.
The Presiding Elder of the church, Samuel Kumi, who confirmed the news, said Bogoso Police Command has officially launched investigations that could lead to the arrest of the thief.

In other news, a Nigerian police officer, Aliyu Giwa, has warned that any woman who attempts to procure an abortion is guilty of a felony and liable to a prison sentence of up to seven years.
The former Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command confirmed this on Twitter on Tuesday, June 21.
He added that anyone who attempts to cause a woman to miscarry her baby is liable to imprisonment for 14 years.
He further added that supplying medications or devices to facilitate abortion is a crime punishable by up to three years in prison.
Lady vows to leave Nigeria after she was almost kidnapped due to fuel scarcity
Amid the lingering fuel scarcity rocking the country, a young Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to narrate how she was almost kidnapped while looking for a bus to transport her to her destination.
The lady identified as Kitan Jubril reported that due to fuel shortages, there were no buses, so she was compelled to get into a private vehicle that offered assistance after waiting for a long time at the bus stop.
Kitan said she was almost kidnapped afterwards.
Taking to Twitter to recount the incident and express gratitude for life, Kitan vowed to leave Nigeria.

Cried like a baby this evening, I was so shaky.. I can’t wait to leave this Nigeria as a whole, a very useless country Nigeria almost happened to me yesterday because, fuel scarcity,no buses, everybody was stranded at the bus stop, I was forced to enter private car after staying so long at bus stop and I was almost kidnapped. Grateful for life. I’ll leave this country unharmed bi ithnillah.”
In other news, a young Nigerian lady, Safiyanu Amira, who raised a false kidnap alarm on Twitter a few days ago, has confessed that nothing of the sort happened and apologized to Nigerians.
Amira had, in a series of tweets, alleged that she and 17 other victims were abducted at gunpoint from different parts of Abuja last Tuesday by men in uniform and driven off in a van and later separated into two groups.
She had also tweeted the locations of the alleged kidnappers, claiming they were unaware that she was with a phone.
A barrage of concerned Nigerians quickly reposted the distress tweet, pleading with the Nigerian police force to intervene.
However, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command later disclosed that it had found the missing Safiyanu Amira and debunked the alleged kidnapping.
Well, Amirah, in a tweet on Monday, June 20, apologized to the general public while confirming that there was indeed no kidnap.
She stated that she had intentionally taken herself out of her house to those locations and starved herself for four days.
Housemaid who killed ex-governor, Lucky Igbinedion’s mother sentenced to death by hanging
Dominion Okoro, the housemaid who killed the mother of ex-Governor, Lucky Igbinedion of Edo state, late Madam Maria Igbinedion, has been sentenced to death by hanging.
Okoro, who worked as the housemaid of the 85-year-old grandma for years, murdered her in cold blood at her residence in GRA Benin City on December 2, 2021, and carted away her money, jewelry and other valuables.
After she was arrested and questioned by the Edo state Police Command, Okoro said the deceased never offended her and that she killed her because she wanted to steal her money.

“I killed Mama (Madam Maria Igbinedion) to carry her money. She did not offend me. While she was sleeping on her bed, around 12:01 a.m. on December 2, 2021, I used a stool to hit her on the head and she was shouting for help, but only the gateman was around and he did not hear the shout. Mama later died.
I waited till 4 a.m. on December 2, 2021, before leaving the house with Mama’s N100,000, wristwatch, and jewellery. I escaped to Cross River State, but I was later arrested by the police.”
Dominion and her sister who allegedly abetted the crime, Patience Okoro, were arraigned in court on Monday, June 20, where the final judgement was delivered.
Dominion was convicted of the three count charge filed against her and was sentenced to death by hanging for murder and robbery with violence, and she was also sentenced to life imprisonment for applying harmful substances on her late boss.
However, her sister, Patience, who was charged for accessory was discharged and acquitted.

Nigerian singer, Azeez Adeshina Sanyaolu better known as Naira Marley, has shared a video of how he almost got injured on a music video set.
The Marlian President is presently shooting the music video of his newly released track ‘Jo dada’ and the video portrays what the lyrics of the song is fixated on – booty.
In the video clip he shared, six unclad ladies were dancing and shaking their derriere on a metal bed while the singer was dancing at the center of the beds.
Suddenly, one of the beds collapsed few inches to the position where the singer was standing due to the weight and aggressive twerking of the video vixen.
Fortunately, the bed didn’t crash on the singer’s legs and he took to Twitter to thank God for saving him from breaking his legs.
