Man drags Kannywood actress, Hadiza Gabon to court for refusing to marry him after allegedly spending N396,000 on her

Man drags Hadiza

Popular Kannywood actress, Hadiza Gabon, has been dragged to court by a 48-year-old civil servant, Bala Musa, for refusing to marry him.

Both parties appeared before a Sharia court in Kaduna state on Monday, June 6, where Musa presented his complaint.

Man drags Hadiza

According to him, he had been dating the actress for a while and she promised to get married to him.

“So far I have spent N396,000 on her. Anytime she asks for money, I give her without hesitation with the hope that we will marry. She also failed to show up in Gusau, Zamfara where I live after I made all arrangements to host her,” Musa added.

According to reports, the case was first heard in court on May 23 but the actress failed to appear in court despite being served.

Speaking in her defense, her counsel, Mr Mubarak Kabir said she wasn’t sure about the authenticity of the case.

“My client’s position as a celebrity attracts different kinds of people with different intentions. She is very vigilant regarding her safety and security,” Kabir added.

He then appealed to the court to give him more time to present the actress before the court.

Thereafter, the case was adjourned till June 13 by the presiding judge, Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai.

“Someone was shot right in front of me” – Lady who survived the Owo church attack shares experience as she marks birthday

A young lady, Stephanie Ajibo Olitex, who survived the gunmen attack on St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo on Sunday, has shared her near-death experience as she marks her birthday.

Recall that unknown gunmen opened fire on worshippers at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state on Sunday, June 5, in which many people were killed and others were fatally injured.

Stephanie took to Facebook to share her testimony. While expressing gratitude to God for sparing her life in the attack, Stephanie detailed how she narrowly escaped being shot by the gunmen who invaded the church in masks and began shooting sporadically at the crowd without restraint.

According to her, she hid herself under a cupboard inside the choir room with a baby in her hand to escape being shot and later escaped through the fence that demarcated the church from the Palace of Olowo of the Owo Kingdom.

Stephanie recalled how people were shot in her presence, including the choirmaster, who is currently battling for his life.

“We were inside the church when they started shooting from the outside. People at the back started running towards the altar. Some jumped fence, our priest escaped through the sacristy with the help of our catechist. By the time I ran towards the Sacristy door, it was already locked by members who were able to reach there before me. I had to hide myself under the cupboard inside the choir room with the baby in my hand. He shot somebody right in front of me near the Sacristy door. He looked around, when he didn’t see anybody or sound, he went away. He was on mask, loaded with Ak 47.

Note that the distance between the heavily loaded gunman and me was like kitchen to dinning. Our choir master who was hiding with us was shot on his chest before he ran into the room with us. I pray he survives the bullet. They killed children, youths and elderly. We’ve recorded almost 100 death and still counting. I came out alive and escaped through the fence that demarcated our church from the Palace of Olowo of Owo Kingdom and ran to the palace for the fear of the unknown. The baby with me is safe, I’m also safe. Happy birthday to me. God Is Good”. She wrote on Facebook.

Man who trained his wife through school, left heartbroken after discovering he isn’t the biological father of their two children

Man who trained

A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to narrate the sad and shocking story of his life and it has caused quite a buzz on social media.

The 33-year-old man who simply identified himself as Ab, recounted how he discovered his wife was a serial cheat and that their two children are not biologically his.

Read his lengthy post below,

“My name is Ab and this is my story.
Please note:
– I’m not a good writer so they’ll surely be mistakes as you read
– I’m not writing this to guilt trip or shade any one, I promise you.
– It’s going to be a long one.
– This is my story, no additives.
– This has been in my google doc for sometime, I keep updating it, waiting to be fully or close to being fully healed before I post it.
– I feel like I’ll be more relieved when so many people read my story, though I want to be as anonymous as I can, for the confidentiality of me or other people included in this story.

I’m Ab, a 33 year old man from a family of seven. Parents and five siblings (two girls and three boys), I’m the eldest.

I am very shy, reserved and anti social. I don’t have friends, not a single one, apart from the few buddies I used to play with in my street when I was much more younger, that we’re still talking till now.

When I say anti social, I’m talking about being anti social and even anti social media. I dedicate so much time to my work that I can go on for days without remembering to check my social media feeds.

I wasn’t from a rich home, we worked a lot before we ate. My parent worked very hard while I was growing up, be it in the farm or their endeavours, these guys worked extremely hard to make sure they raise us up as comfortably as they can. Sending us to the best verage schools et all.

My parents have the best and happiest marriage I’ve ever seen, till date, I’m 33 and I’ve never in my life seen those people quarrel before, not to talk of being verbal with each other, never.

My dad, married very late, he said he didn’t want to get married and raise a family he couldn’t be financially supportive. He married my mom when he was 49 and she was 20.

I graduated at age 22, from one of the Federal Universities in the Southwestern part of Nigeria. Started working at age 23 (an old pal my dad worked for as a cleaner when he was younger linked me with the job). At 25 I was doing very okay, to the extent I was the one in charge of all my younger siblings’ education (everything inclusive; rent, allowances and all)

I am not really a woman’s man, don’t get me wrong, I love women, I am always admiring them, but it is always from a far, I didn’t or don’t really like the idea of me being in a relationship or getting married, let me shock you? Well all through my schooling days, I never had a girl friend or been in a relationship, though at one point or the other I’ve done some things, you understand me.

One day my mom called me to come to the village that weekend unfailingly, she wants to see all of us, I went. In her words “Ab, I know you’re still young, but you have to consider getting married. Look at your dad, he is 74 with no grandchild, his age mates have grandchildren and some have great grandchildren, he has always told me in our alone time he wishes to see even one grandchild before God calls him, you have all the resources to get married, go and think about it, at least start something, be in a relationship, bring the girl, but this .isn’t pressure, so please take your time, as marriage is a forever stuff”.

I bought this, my mom was very right, my dad deserves it, my immediate younger sibling was my first sister, she was just 21 by then and still in the university, there was no way she was having a kid by then so it was me and just me. But like my mom said, I took my time, I wasn’t in a rush at all.

I met L, she was 21, she was in school by then, L was/is the most loving, caring, determined, adventurous, you name it, woman I’ve ever seen. We started dating after talking for sometime. Everything was going on very well and smooth and by 2016, on her POP(from NYSC) night I proposed to her and she said yes. You could see the happiness and excitement on her face. I was the happiest boy on earth. She was 23 and I was 27. The idea of making a family with this rare human was so exciting, damn.

One year later in 2017, we got married (she was pregnant for our first child already, though it wasn’t showing). She was 24 and me? 28. Our parents and families were so happy, this was “a match made in heaven” as my mom would always say, my sibling would always remind me of how lucky I am, to meet this kind of being. My baby boy, my dad was the happiest, because he was months away from having his first grandchild, at 78.

By 2019, we had our second child. And everyday was as if I’m just meeting this woman for the first time, life was sweet. My family was the best on earth, every day I couldn’t wait to just go home and meet my world, my family. My two boys loves me and I love them like there will be no tomorrow.

Oh before I forget, I took over from her parents, I sponsored my wife’s education from when we met till when she was done, put her two siblings on huge monthly allowances, though not too huge, so they wouldn’t become comfortable and start being too dependent. When she was done with school I opened up her dream business for her, and she’s thriving, till this day, she’s a multi millionaire.

2020, the lockdown year, was the year I would make sure didn’t happen, if I have any super powers. I started working from home, and I had more time to spend with my three angels. I never suspected my wife of cheating, matter of fact, the “What if” has never crossed my head, because, me myself, what’s cheating though?

When the lock down was eased, still working from home, we would go on road trips, all of us, including our boys. Long trips to different cities some times, some days we lodge over, some days we go back home. I didn’t like it, but my wife was a big fan of it, so why not? As long as she’ll be the one driving, I was good.

This particular day, in a particular city that was recommended by my wife (told me about how sweet and enjoyable the city was, that she’s seen some online reviews and her best friend even recommended it for her), after we’ve made the boys to sleep in their (hotel) room, she was telling me about a particular shawarma joint she saw online which was just like a 5 minute walk from the hotel, we decided to stroll over. We got it, and the waiter (or what do you call them?) that served us, gave me a note, I just stuck it inside my trousers pocket, thinking it was maybe a thank you note.

We went back home the next day, at home, I remembered getting the note, I rush over, brought out the trouser and opened it, it said “I wouldn’t do this normally because I must be professional as I can, but please, make sure to use a condom. Thanks for the huge tip, I appreciate”. Lol, what’s this? I asked myself, I wanted to tell my wife, so we would laugh about it, thinking maybe the guy thought I just met her and we’re about to go do one or two in an hotel, and since I had tipped him, he decided to pay my good deed back by giving me good health tips, but then, I thought again, what if this is more than what I’m thinking?

Now I needed just more than myself to crack this up, I messaged an old buddy on WhatsApp, he advised I go alone to the city and that same place, meet the guy, sit him down with some bottles and ask him to tell me more. That there might be more to it then what it looks like. I heed to that advice. But when I reached there, that particular person wasn’t anywhere to be found, I didn’t even know his name, I described and described and described to his .colleagues, none of them could help. I now went back home, with so many thoughts and fears, I didn’t even want to think that my wife is cheating on me, but then I didn’t want to just drop the case like that.

I told myself I’d make some investigations myself, and what other way to investigate than checking her messages on social media. This was so hard for me, it was so hard because I’ve never ever thought a day will come I’ll have any need to go through my world’s phone, looking to see if she’s cheating on me.

I checked her WhatsApp chat with her best friend, there was nothing to see, I kept checking, this wasn’t a one day something as I needed time, so she won’t suspect and delete any of her chats. I kept checking, and my biggest fear… I felt like I died, but I resurrected. I acted normal, wanted giving myself some time before confronting my wife. After a week, I did. She has never seen me being suspicious or asking her anything of such, since we met. So she confessed, and told me everything, except one.

She told me about how the guy comes around and they have sex on our matrimonial bed, she told me many other wonderful stories, guys, I swear, I died for some seconds, I never saw this coming my friends. My wife? My flawless baby? Loved by all? Including my immediate and extended family? The woman my dad would always tell me is an esque of my mom? Damn.

I asked her why she was or is doing it she said she doesn’t know, started blaming her village people, saying it could be a curse, and all. I asked her if I don’t satisfy her on bed, she said I’m every girl’s dream man. And guys, I am, really. Because I remember before meeting her, most of the girls I’ve done a thing with always came back for more. So what could’ve been the reason? I needed to know, so I could fix it. Divorce wasn’t even on my mind Because, who could possibly replace her? Also, I have a lot of time for my family, I work for less than 8 hours a day, some times 3 or 4, I had time for my family, a lot of it. So what could be the reason? I didn’t get this answer, so I forgave my baby and promised not to ever make her remember her “past” in any way. We even had some appointments with marriage councilors, and everything was good again, I thought.

My wife kept apologizing daily, telling me how I’m her life, the air she breaths and all, telling me how she couldn’t stay a second without me in her life. We were regaining our marriage back, slowly but steadily.

All this I’ve not told any of my family members, in fact, I’ve not told any one apart from my childhood buddy I told about earlier, seeking advices. So I decided to keep it that way, not telling anyone, so nobody would see my baby in a different way. This buddy I told earlier told me if I don’t think about running a DNA Test on my baby boys. At first I was reluctant because what’s the need? Lol, they’re mine, I’m 100% sure bud. But he kept insisting and I bought it.

I did the test on my first son, Lol, you guessed wrong my friend it came out, I wasn’t the dad. Lol I think at this point I was buried, I could literally remember eating my burial rice. Lol. I kept quiet, my wife was happy again, the guilt wasn’t really showing, I was getting my family back, so how am I going to tell her about this new discovery? What if she commits suicide? She said she’d die if it’s not me.

I did the test on my second son, there were some good news in this one, I was the… Lol, I wasn’t the dad, he wasn’t my son either. My world came to an end, how was I going to tell my dad? A man that thought he had at least seen his first set of grannies before reuniting with his maker? How was I gonna tell my mom, my siblings and even my wife about it?

I kept cool, my wife’s birthday is by November, so November 2021 on her 27th birthday, my family had gone back to much of how we used to be, we did an in-house birthday party, just four of us, after everything I gave her the test results. Lol.

She started crying, cleaning my feet, doing like she has gotten mad, I told her to stand up and sit down let’s talk. She did, asked her why? She said maybe when she was cheating on me she mistakenly took in. But twice? Impossible yeah? Me too. But three different DNAs on two boys, from three different hospitals from three different towns can’t lie.

Had to travel home to tell my family (I had called everyone home that I wanted doing a family meeting). I told them, my old man got hit the most, suffering stroke as a result of the shock. Everyone were devastated, our flawless wife? Can’t be.

I came back home and my wife had packed out with our kids, lol dropping a note, “We don’t deserve you baby”, I don’t want to talk about what I’ve been through since then, but I’ve healed a bit, after almost a year. I lost my job though, they said I haven’t been productive enough. I’m back home, running the business my pops was running for me back home. God bless us all, thank you my friends for reading, have a good night rest.”

“What do men really want?” – Reactions as man reveals he broke up with a lady because ‘she had it all’

A Nigerian writer sparked an online debate after revealing that he ended his relationship with a woman because she was independent and had it all.

The young man, identified as Chinedu Ihekwoaba, admitted on Twitter that being with his ex-girlfriend made him feel less of a man because she was too independent.

He explained that he came to the conclusion that he couldn’t control her because she had everything and he couldn’t provide anything, so he dissolved the relationship.

He further disclosed that he felt useless in the relationship because he wasn’t contributing anything.

His words,

“I left a lady because she was too independent. She had it all. I contributed nothing. I felt useless in the relationship. I couldn’t act like a man. I don’t think I will be able to control her. She won’t be submissive to me. So I ended it. Mind you, she did nothing wrong…”

Reacting an Instagram user @mr.ajaks wrote, “Instead of being intimidated or feeling inferior You should have seen her as an inspiration to up your game, focus and work harder my brother. It’s okay to be inspired by anyone regardless of their age or gender…..”

@sisi_medley, “When people use the world “control” when talking about their significant other, it really doesn’t sit well with me🥴. I’ll avoid a man like this at all cost, what does he mean by “control her”?🙄”.

@mondayobinna1988, “Why should someone contributing as much as you or more than you be submissive on what ground?. If you want such things go for the ones that aren’t independent that you would provide for”.

@beautifulprincess342, “You Never Deserved Her Bro😂😂😂😂 Cos You Men are confused you don’t know what you want! This minute you all are complaining about a dependent lady and saying she should get a job, now an independent woman is the one you can’t control! Abeg make Una shift this morning jawe!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”.

“Rule out women with overly long nails, most of them can’t cook or wash” – Actor, Stanley Nweze advises single men searching for wives

Stanley Nweze

Popular Nollywood actor, Stanley Nweze has given a piece of advice to single men seeking for women to marry.

Taking to his Instastory, Stanley advised them against choosing ladies with very long nails because they can’t cook or clean the house.

He wrote,

“Before you choose a wife to marry rule out women with “overly long nails”, most of them can’t cook or wash. Trust me on this.. Homely girls don’t do this.”

In other news, Stanley Nweze was seemingly not satisfied with the outcome of the recently held Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA and he has suggested that the name should be changed to Lasgidi/Lagos awards.

In a post shared on his Instastories, Stanley made a case for Enugu and Asaba actors as he claimed that they are not recognized by their Lagos colleagues.

His post reads;

African Magic viewers choice awards sincerely should be changed to lasgidi/lagos awards or something else because there are a lot of good actors and crew members in other areas under the same Nollywood working really hard that y’all don’t recognize.

I think AMVCA should have a commercial category so that the Enugu and Asaba Actors can fit in because if skit/online contents can be added to the AWARD CATEGORY then why should commercial actors be left out. It is not clear to me.

I can’t date a lady who isn’t worth at least N1million — Nigerian writer

Nigerian writer

Nigerian writer, Chinedu Ihekwoaba, has said he can’t date a lady who is not worth at least N1 million.

He took to Twitter on Monday, June 7, to make this statement while recounting when he was dumped by his girlfriend because he wasn’t up to her standard.

According to him, he is now financially stable and also won’t settle for less from a woman.

Chinedu tweeted,

“The love of my life dumped me for a big bro in my street. The dude worked in a bank. He got the money. She tell me say I wasn’t man enough. She can’t wait. I agreed and moved on. Ladies have their spec. Today, I also can’t date a lady who is not worth at least 1M naira.

I have been rejected by many ladies when I was unemployed. The ones that tried to stay got tired at some point. My friends are getting married. When are we doing ours? When are you getting a job? They had to leave.

Now that I also get small change, I can’t settle for less.

I can’t carry your parents’ responsibilities. At least, I will pick someone that has a dream and vision. And also understands the situation of the country.
If a lady is worth 1M at least, she will know how to take care of herself.
And lastly, still grieving with the Ondo people.”

BBNaija Reunion: Drama as Angel tackles Maria for sleeping with a married man (video)

Angel tackles

The Big Brother Naija season 6 reunion show began in earnest on June 3rd and it has been saddled with drama as the ex-housemates address the issues they had while in the house.

Well, it’s common knowledge that there’s bad blood between Angel Smith and Maria Chike Benjamin, and it’s evident in how they relate with each other both on the show and outside the house.

Angel tackles

During the reunion, the 22-year-old reality show star attacked Maria for slut-shaming and saying vile things about her while having a conversation with Peace and Nini in the executive room.

However, Maria shut her down and asked her to direct her aggression to Ebuka, the show host, because she’s not cut out for that conversation.

Angel tackles

On another episode, Angel picked up the issue again and called Maria a hypocrite for nitpicking her actions when she’s no different.

She also brought up the drama that ensued in October 2021 when Cubana Chief Priest accused the 30-year-old influencer of dating a married man.

Her words,

“We can all agree that Maria is an hypocrite. I am talking about it because you were flirty with Emmanuel. Yes I am a bitch, a fucking bitch, that’s great. I wouldn’t heal because you are a patriarchal Princess. You didn’t know that one when you were fucking married man. Fool”.

This triggered Maria who then threatened to expose Angel’s philanderous activities while they were in Dubai.

“Really, is that what you wanna bring up. Don’t even allow me to bring up all the things you did in Dubai. Because you did it in front of everybody I know”. Maria said.

However, Angel was unperturbed by her threat and stated that she doesn’t mind being exposed because people already think she’s a slut.

“Many of my male friends are suffering in silence because of violence from their wives” – Journalist Agba Jalingo

Nigerian journalist, Agba Jalingo, has spoken out against the rise in gender-based violence against men.

According to Agba Jalingo, who remarked in a series of Facebook posts that many men are victims of abuse from their wives, domestic violence is not gender specific.

He claimed that many of his male acquaintances are suffering in silence as a result of violence from their wives. He also revealed that a friend is currently in the hospital owing to alleged domestic abuse by his wife.

The journalist urged male victims of domestic violence to speak about their plight rather than die in silence.

In his words,

“Many of my male friends are suffering in silence because of violence from their wives. One is in the hospital now. This GBV must take a shift. We must stop genderizing domestic violence. Many men are dying in silence and I mean it. Our friend was rescued from the brink of suicide because he married a woman I don’t know how to describe. He is in the hospital. He has been through hell

“Physical abuse with injuries, emotional taunting, infidelity are some of the things MANY men I know are going through. But they can’t talk. If your wife is dishing you domestic violence, please SPEAK OUT. Please I say SPEAK OUT. Dont be ashamed. I’m tired of the stories I’m hearing. My friend has never been a violent man. He is just a gentleman in mad love with a violent extravagant woman and that woman wants to kill him.”

Man barred from entire county for being a menace to his exes

A man identified as Obol Derick Otim has been barred by a Truro Crown Court from entering Cornwall, a county in South West England.

It’s gathered that Otim was barred for being a threat to his ex-girlfriends. The judgement was given in a lawsuit filed by one of his ex-girlfriend who he threatened to stab.

The 30-year-old man is said to have subjected the lady and another of his lovers to horrific abuse and threats to kill them.

During one of his outbursts, one of his victims was able to contact the other complainant, who overheard Otim threaten, “I will f**king stab you with a f**king knife.” ‘I’m going to stomp on your skull.”

She taped the calls and phoned the cops before he called her, threatening to’slap her’ and stating he wasn’t afraid of the cops. He allegedly continued his rage by walking to the knife drawer, giving his victim the impression that she was about to die.

The Judge, Anna Richardson, noted in her ruling on the case after Otim admitted to multiple counts that the argument with the first victim escalated while she was holding his baby. Richardson also revealed that both victims were terrified as a result of Otim’s out-of-control behavior.

He was given a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years and given a five-year restraining order banning him from going to Cornwall or contacting his victims.

The victim’s impact statement reads,

“When Derick did what he did, it confirmed everything I didn’t want to accept. Everything that I had known to be true and seen many times but never truly wanted to accept. When I answer the phone call that night it changed my life. I heard a terrified controlled and manipulated woman, that woman was once me. I felt sheer terror that all of the violence I had been a victim of over the years of my relationship with Derick had been filled with those same screams and pleas for help.

‘I felt fear at a level I had never felt, but this time not just for myself or for my children but for another woman and her child. Derick has never taken responsibility for his actions or his children, of which there are five. That is five girls that will grow up to become women. Hopefully strong and powerful women. That also will stand up and say no without question when there is injustice. Not just five more females that are statistics in Derick’s life.

‘I have had death threats from Derick over the years, but over the following 24 hours the way Derick harassed and described what and how he would do these things made me feel like my life was genuinely at risk, and not just mine but also that of my children. Who have also witnessed derricks volatile and abusive behaviour, not just inside my home. But even in public or at family events.

‘When a person believes they are never at fault, or are above any law or consequence it makes for a dangerous person. Derick has spent less than six months in prison. Is this enough time for the trauma caused to myself and the multiple other woman to heal? NO.

‘But in the last few months of my life since Derick has been gone, I have slept soundly. Laughed and started to enjoy my life again, I have even fallen in love. My children no longer dread the constant phone calls and manipulation and obsession Derick has weighed me down with over the last five years.

‘I have felt comfortable to go to my local shop, knowing he won’t be there. Driving around knowing I won’t see his car, the dreaded flash of white Mercedes into the car parking bay, knowing that I should be on my best behaviour so not to trigger anything. Worried that if I don’t agree and go along with Derick version of events then my daughter may miss out on the promised activity arranged.

‘That has not been a stress of mine and it’s been utterly delightful. Although somewhat sad to think how I lived for so many years. My children are growing up and I wish them to be able to move around the area they live without fear of bumping into Derick.

‘Standing here, speaking my truth wasn’t mandatory. I wasn’t told to do it, or made to. But I needed this, I needed to heal. I needed to stand here and say I see you Derick, for exactly who you are. I see your pattern and formula for abuse and control. But I also see myself, stronger, happier and grateful for only one thing from you and that is my beautiful daughter. You spent three month in prison, but that will not even have been a taste of what life was like with you.

‘I called the police and gave them the evidence needed to protect woman like myself and all the other woman that you could harm and damage. I leave this court today knowing my conscience is clear and I have done the right thing. I hope one day you will be able to do the same.”

“It was my lowest moment” – Ambassador Eniola Ajayi recalls how her 27-year-old daughter died during her father’s burial

Ambassador Eniola Ajayi recalls

Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Dr. Eniola Olairan Ajayi has revealed that the lowest moment of her life was when she lost her daughter.

Her 27-year-old daughter, Oluwadolapo Oluwadamilola Ajayi, passed away on April 20, 2018, during the burial rites of her 98-year-old grandfather at Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

She had returned to Nigeria from the United States for the funeral and was said to have complained of a headache during the ceremony.

She was rushed to a private hospital where she eventually died from a ruptured brain aneurysm.

Ambassador Eniola Ajayi recalls

Speaking on her beloved daughter’s death in an interview with Punch, the envoy said it was the lowest moment of her life.

“My lowest moment was losing my first daughter. My highest moments were those times when people believing God for a child got pregnant after many years of waiting. The more personal one is seeing the grandchildren of my father— a retired school teacher— graduate from different Ivy League universities around the world,” she said.

On how she has been coping with the loss, Ambassador Ajayi said,

“I listen a lot to worship songs. It has not been easy at all. I just focus on my service to God, my other children, work and service to humanity. I am just coming to terms with the fact that she is not coming back.

“She led such a beautiful and impactful life that it is simply impossible to forget her. There is no day since April 20, 2018, that I don’t remember her. I take consolation in the fact that I will see her again but in the meantime, I will not whisper her name– Oluwadolapo Ajayi.”

Owo killings: “We have the capacity and are prepared and ready to defend ourselves against all external invaders” – Ooni of Ife

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has reacted to the horrific attack by gunmen on the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state, on Sunday, June 5.

The Monarch, in a statement released on Monday, June 6, said that the massacre that took place in Owo, Ondo state, was targeted at turning Yorubaland into a war zone.

Oba Adeyeye declared that although the Yoruba are peace-loving people, they are prepared to defend themselves against external invaders.

The statement reads,

“What occurred yesterday was a gruesome massacre dastardly targeted at turning Yorubaland to a war zone. However, we the descendants of Oduduwa although peace loving, cannot be overrun in our own homes, do not be mistaken we have the capacity and are prepared and ready to defend ourselves against all external invaders.

We should all be reminded that yesterday made it exactly one year when an invading gang of killer herdsmen killed at least over 20 people in Igangan, Ibarapa North local government of Oyo State on a Saturday night, leaving several houses, the palace of the Asiganga burnt in the attack, whilst people were asleep. Exactly a year ago!

When calamities like this befall us without a single trace, the interpretation is that the intelligence unit of our country’s security architecture is probably faulty or completely missing.

I implore the six governors across the south west region and their brothers nationwide as well as the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, to live up to their oaths of securing Nigerians and ensuring safety for all citizens irrespective of their age, sex, religion or tribe.

Rather than discouraging us, this will rather strengthen us especially in our resolve to deploy manpower, resources and technology towards the protection of lives and properties. I’m consulting with Traditional rulers across the south-west alongside the governors across the southwest to come up with concrete plans to safe guard our people. We have deep obligations to them in the face of inadequate state security challenges that are threatening the fabric of our existence.

To my brother the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, and the entire Owo kingdom, to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to the Ondo State Government, to the people of Owo, to the Priest and parishioners of St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa, Owo, to the families of all the victims, and the entire people of Ondo State, it is my prayer that Olodumare will comfort you all and give you peace in these trying time”.

FFK’s ex-wife, Precious finally reunites with her children after several pleas to see her kids (Photos/Video)

Precious, the estranged wife of former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, is undoubtedly overjoyed as she reunites with her children after a two-year separation.

The former beauty queen, whose 6-year marriage to the politician hit the rock in 2020, claimed FFK denied her access to see her children ever since. She has taken to social media several times, most of the time in tears, to beg to see her children.

Since their marriage ended in 2020, Fani Kayode and Precious Chikwendu have been locked in a legal battle over custody of their four children.

However, in a recent development, it appears the pair have settled their differences regarding co-parenting.

Precious was finally allowed to see her children over the weekend, and the video of their heartwarming moment was shared on FFK’s Instagram page.

“My sons spent the day with their mother yesterday! What a beautiful sight it was! Love, peace and joy all around! Thanks be to God. @snowhiteey , Thanks Mama Aragorn”. He captioned the video.

Precious, on her part, shared photos from the event and thanked her estranged husband for giving her the opportunity to reunite with their kids.

She added that Fani-Kayode has had a change of mind and is working on a peaceful co-parenting process so that the children grow up with equal amounts of love and care from both parents.

Dear All,
Overtime I have learnt to keep my peace and focus on the things I aspire to achieve in my youthfulness rather than the ones that would derail me from my path, but I have to keep everyone updated on what is currently going on especially for the people who have constantly prayed and fought with me when I was going through the worst time in my life.

As a mother, my greatest prayer is being able to hug my kids , play with and spend time with them no matter how little the time. Bearing in mind that God gave me a basic assignment in their lives as a watchman. This is a win for us all, I have gone from not seeing them AT ALL for 2years to spending a few hours (Play Date)with them and also tending to one who wasn’t well as at the time i was reached. That is all that it is currently, but I believe their Father has a change of mind and is working out a process for a peaceful coparenting as wars always have a long lasting effect to both parties regardless .
Please be patient with me as I am basking in this little joy and win for a little longer as well as soaking it all in as I figure a way to put all issues to rest without drama.

Thank you all so very much for the messages and well wishes. Thanks to my concerned elders. Their Father (through his aides) and some good people around him are in talks to see to it that my children grow up having balanced love and affection from both sides. I am hoping this leads to an end in media wars and to a peaceful coparenting as we move on to achieve our various destinies apart .
Signed
Precious Chikwendu”. She wrote on Instagram.
