Nigerian Singer and songwriter, Anthony Victor better known as Victony has taken to his social media page to mark the anniversary of the car accident that almost ended his promising career and life.
On the 26th of April, 2021, Victony was returning home from a birthday party in the company of his friends when the car they were in suffered a fatal crash that ended the life of his friend, Doyin.
The accident had forced Victony into surgery. He was also wheelchair-ridden for many months but that did not stop his voice from making the airwaves and the singer has come back from the crash a stronger, better and more popular version of himself.
Victony took out to his social media page today to remember his late friend as he announced his latest single.

Four kids electrocuted after an electric cable fell on a container shop in Ondo State
Four children, including two siblings, have lost their lives after getting electrocuted in their aunt’s shop in Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo state police command, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said an electric cable fell on the metal container shop inside which the children were playing, killing them.
An eyewitness who gave a detailed account of the incident to Punch, said
“The electric cable fell on the container inside which the children were playing. They were rushed to the hospital, but there was no sufficient oxygen they could use for five of them. Four later gave up the ghost. But the case of the sixth child was not serious as she can walk and talk.
“The remaining two were taken to Trauma Centre in Ondo for treatment. One has been discharged, but the second child has been referred to OAU Teaching Hospital for treatment. Two of the victims came for holiday with aunt.”
Michael Barnabas, the BEDC’s Ondo State Corporate Affairs Manager, claimed the incident was fatal because the metal container store was under a high tension electric cable.
“Sadly, we received information about the electrocution of four little children within our network in Ile-Oluji due to an 11kv line that snapped. As a company, we condole with the families of the children because life is very sacred and should not end prematurely this way.
“According to information available to us, the children were in an iron container shop that was directly under an 11kv line that snapped which led to their electrocution when they had contact with the wire. The deaths would have been avoidable if there was nothing within the 11meters right of way statutorily required for such line.” Punch quoted him as saying.”

Kidnapped Abuja businesswoman regains freedom (Photos)
A businesswoman based in Abuja, identified as Agnes Chieshe Movic, has regained her freedom after she was abducted by suspected kidnappers.
The woman who owns Movic Restaurants in Nigeria’s capital, was declared missing by her family over the weekend, and was said to be last seen at Dunamis Market Area 1, Abuja at about 8:55pm on Thursday, April 21.
New reports reaching us have it that she has been found and her abductors dropped her off along the road on Sunday night, April 24.
Although details surrounding her kidnap and what transpired between her and her abductors are still sketchy at the time of filing this report, she has been reunited with her family live on Brekete Family TV show broadcast in Abuja.
Her younger brother, identified as Chieshe Terhemen, took to his Facebook page on Monday, April 25, to confirm the report of her release.

Nimi Akinkugbe, Nigeria’s ambassador to Greece, has shared a video of the special moment she walked her son down the aisle on his wedding day.
In an Instagram post on Monday night, the excited mum said she was honored when her son reached out to her prior to his wedding day to ask her to walk him down the aisle.
According to her, walking her son down the aisle on his wedding day was a special moment for her, as the role of the groom’s mother was usually limited during wedding ceremonies.
Sharing photos and videos from the wedding, which was held in New York, and recounting how she felt walking her son down the aisle, Nimi Akinkugbe wrote,

Popular gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has commiserated with the ex-wives and girlfriends of closeted gay men in Nigeria.
The abroad-based LGBTQ advocate took to his social media page to address women who were married to or dated homosexuals, referring to them as the “Association of ex-wives and girlfriends of Nigerian gay men (AWGNGM).”
Saying a word of prayer for them, he prayed for God to wipe their tears from the pain they experienced after discovering their beloved husbands were gay.

Drunk police officer allegedly kills two people at birthday party in Lagos (Photos)
A trigger-happy policeman is currently at large after he allegedly killed two people at a birthday party organized at a bar in Gowon Estate, in the Egbeda area of Lagos.
Eyewitnesses report that the officer was given food and drinks by the party organizers who asked him to join in their celebration and it was after he ate and drank alcohol to his satisfaction that he began shooting sporadically and in the process killing two of the guests who were spraying money at the celebrant.
A video that was shared online showed the graphic bodies of the deceased people as well as those who sustained gunshot injuries.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the state police command, SP Benjamin said
“I can confirm there was shooting at the bar on Sunday night and two persons were killed. We are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. I can assure you that those responsible will not go free. They will face the music. The commissioner of police Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, has zero tolerance for such behaviour and has already given marching orders to the DPO to fish out the culprits.”
It was reported that the policeman was invited to provide security by the celebrant identified as Ifeanyi alias Asiwaju of Computer Village.

The Chrisland school girl saga lingers on and just recently, news made round that the girl deleted her social media account and tendered an apology on social media.
According to PUNCH, the father of the girl in the said video has now come out to hint that the apology was from a fake account.
The Father averred that his daughter hasn’t touched the phone or been on the internet since the controversial video went viral and the account (likee) has been deleted but people still found a way to create a fake account with her identity.
In his words;
“My daughter has never touched the phone for the past two weeks. She has never touched anything Internet; those accounts are fake and we have deleted them as of Friday, 87 fake accounts.
“Can a 10-year-old girl delete social media? This child has never touched anything Internet or phone. She doesn’t have an account on (Likee). The account was closed as soon as we found out. These people (school) hid this thing for the past one month, we found out and raise the alarm.
“We are surprised that they started going to pick a child’s picture; like a child will stay in the house and snap a picture and start posting it, so we closed the account.

The alleged 10-year-old Chrisland schoolgirl involved in the explicit incident with a male student during a school competition in Dubai has deleted all videos of her on her Likee social media app and has apologized as well.
The young lady was earlier suspended from the school after it was alleged that she was raped by senior students — the incident garnered varying reactions as the school stated denied the allegations that the child was raped under their care and took her for a pregnancy test without her parents’ knowledge or consent.

So I met this girl about 5 years ago, when I was really still struggling in life. A Twitter user shared photos of the dog playing with the mentally unstable woman and revealed that the loyal canine usually visits the woman every night.

Police arrests husband and wife for allegedly beating their maid to death in Lagos
Men of the Lagos State Police command have effected the arrest of a woman and her husband following the death of their maid.
The deceased, identified as one Joy Akom Adole, was living with Nene Fortune and her husband, Stephens at No. 18 Ogundola Street, Bariga, Lagos.
According to reports, Joy started working with the couple in January of 2022, and was being paid N15k monthly. On April 20, 2022, the couple called the police to report that Joy had committed suicide following a misunderstanding with her madam, Fortune.
However, after the police visited the scene, they saw marks of violence on the body of the deceased, pointing at torture.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said,
“Our operatives at Bariga received a complaint from a couple that their househelp committed suicide. That is the initial report that they got.
“The DPO led a team of Homicide detectives to the house and they saw the housegirl hanging on a rope but the way she stood on the rope raised an eyebrow because it actually looked like it was a stage managed event.
“The detectives went further to check for marks of violence and they saw a lot, fresh wound. She was actually tortured so there is a likelihood that she died and they tried to cover up by putting her on a rope to show she committed suicide.”
Teenage girl beats 85-year-old woman to death, accuses her of witchcraft
A teenage girl identified as Happy David was arraigned and charged to court for allegedly clubbing an 85-year-old woman, Gama Jatau, to death in Adamawa state.
According to a report by SaharaReporters, Happy took law into her hands and clubbed the octogenarian to death because she felt that the deceased casted spells on her to slow down her academic progress and also frequently inflict her with diseases.
The incident is reported to have occurred on the 8th of April, 2022, in Tambo village in the Girei Local Government Area of the state. Armed with a stick, David reportedly stormed the residence of the deceased by 1pm on the fateful day and hit her on the head repeatedly.
The victim was later pronounced dead at the Jabbi-Lamba clinic. Happy was apprehended and has been charged to court on a count of murder, an offence contrary to Section 191 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa 2018.
She pleaded guilty as charged.
In other news, a Nigerian woman sent her housemaid packing for allegedly practicing witchcraft under her roof.
In a video shared online, the woman is seen confronting the housemaid and accusing her of planning evil against her and her household.
According to the woman, she employed the maid barely three weeks ago and have been treating her well, only for her to be repaid with evil.
Although she didn’t disclose what the maid did wrong, the woman asked her if she wasn’t ‘warned’ beforehand that she can’t practice witchcraft in her home because she has a discerning spirit. Watch the video here
Thieves forced to sing praises to God after they were caught stealing (Video)
Whether it’s for the atonement of their sins, punishment for their crime or just amusement for the people who caught them, this duo of thieves were hilariously made to have a praise and worship session in God’s honour after they were nabbed.
While the video has been met with laughter after it was shared online because of the hilarity of the thieves’ situation, the punishment for their crime was real albeit hilarious.
According to some news outlets in Ghana, the two thieves were nabbed stealing in the Oti Region of the country and were forced to fit into a barrel, before being asked to sing praises to God.
It however is not clear what they were caught stealing, but their video has since gone viral on social media with a couple of netizens okay with the punishment they were given rather than they having a brutal one.

200-level Benue varsity student allegedly commits suicide over family problems
An undergraduate student at the Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University, Makurdi, Benue State, has allegedly committed suicide over family challenges.
According to reports, the dead, Ogbonna Shedrach, from a divorced marriage, opted to end it all by hanging over the hardships of a broken family.
He’s said to have challenged his father days before the event over his refusal to give him N50,000 to cover certain urgent expenses.
The Public Relations Officer of the school’s students union, Comrade Zaki Christian, confirmed the death of the 200-level student in a statement on Sunday, April 24.
“We have confirmed details and death of Ogbona Shedrach aged 20, a 200L Student of our Varsity in the department of Biochemistry. According to family, Late Ogbona Shedrach comes from a divorced marriage and until death faced challenges associated with the fate of a broken home
“Sequel to his death, Ogbona had confronted his father to release a token of 50,000 to assist him settle pressing needs, a conversation that took place repeatedly and angered him to succumb to SUICIDE BY HANGING after his father’s refusal to release the said amount.
“As a students Union we have only become privy of this story on the premise of his death. We regret deeply this ugly menace and are reposed to kindly charge our Students to embrace whatever pains of life as occasioned to them by default, speak out where necessary but Never succumb to SUICIDE, MURDER OR CRIME. A Nigerian man based abroad has gotten his wife a customized Volkswagen SUV as a push present to appreciate her for bringing their son into the world.
The proud dad, identified as @MrSoupreme on Twitter, took to the micro-blogging platform to share pictures of the jaw-dropping matte military green vehicle and praised women for what they go through to birth life into the world.
It was gathered that his wife gave birth on April 2nd, 2022, and the man had been working on the custom-made vehicle which he would present to her soon.
He noted that he is very grateful for his wonderful wife and their two sons.
Sharing the pictures, he wrote,
