A Nigerian Twitter user has revealed she was recently denied entry into a restaurant in Lagos because of how she was dressed.
The lady, a chef identified on the micro-blogging platform as @Chefobudu who donned a short yellow dress to a restaurant said she was told by the receptionist that she was violating the restaurant’s dress code.
“Apparently I’m violating the restaurant dress code, so they didn’t let me in.” She captioned a photo of herself.
Some others who had similar encounters replied, sharing their stories too.
In an updated tweet, the lady said the manager of the restaurant has now apologized and the staff at the front desk who denied her entry has been changed.
This comes after a popular Nigerian Twitter user, simply identified as Oluwapelumi, has called out a Lagos restaurant for denying her entry over her outfit.
Oluwapelumi took to Twitter to express her displeasure with the restaurant located in VI. According to her, she was not allowed entry and the security guards went on to call a prostitute.
“The Grills by Delis in VI just pissed me tf off, not only did they deny me entrance from their restaurant, the security guys spent a good amount of time talking about me within hearing shot and calling me a prostitute and being stupid judgmental.
I was told I couldn’t go in, I said fine, waited for my date to come out so we’d leave. Next thing the stupid ass people started talking smack about me. Is this how you guys run this place???'” She tweeted.

A Yaba magistrate court sitting in Lagos state has ordered that Andrew Nice, the BRT driver arrested in connection with the adduction and murder of 22-year-old passenger Bamise, be remanded in prison for 30 days.
Andrew has been charged with the kidnapping and murder of Bamise, a 22-year-old fashion designer who boarded the bus he was driving on February 26 and was subsequently discovered dead.
Late Bamise had on the said day entered the bus around Chevron estate in Lagos and was heading towards Oshodi. She was however suspicious of the activities on the bus. She alerted her friend and gave out the number of BRT bus she boarded. Days after she went missing, she was found dead on Monday, March 7.
Andrew Nice, who went into hiding after the abduction, was arrested and is now being investigated. He was arraigned on Friday, March 11.
Magistrate Omobabalola Salawo ordered that Andrew be remanded for 30 days following an application by the police. The suspect is to remain in custody while the police continue to investigate the case.
A young boy, Chukwuma Felix Ukairo, who was kidnapped after boarding a commercial bus in Egbeda, Lagos state on Friday morning, March 11, has been released.
Chukwuma’s mother had taken to Twitter to raise alarm and ask for help in finding her son after the adductors called her demanding for ransom.
According to her, her boy, who was headed to a bank in Egbeda, boarded the commercial bus in the area and was unfortunately abducted.
In an updated tweet she revealed her son was released after she paid the kidnapers ransom.
She further revealed that the boy was drugged, beaten, and was pushed from a moving vehicle two bus stops away from their home after the ransom was paid.
“He has been found, they threw him out of a moving car two bus stops from home,yes we paid the ransom. I have all d details of the account number we paid the ransom. He was beaten up and drugged. The police is working on the case. Thank you all!”, she wrote.
Lanre Gentry, Mercy Aigbe’s estranged husband, has claimed that the actress lied about not being friends with Kazim Adeoti’s first wife, Funsho.

Popular Nigerian Broadcaster, Becky Madojemu has reacted to photos of female inmates at the Kirikiri correctional facility in Lagos.
Photos of the prisoners hit the internet recently after a beauty pageant show was organized where the alleged killer of SuperTV CEO, Chidinma Ojukwu, emerged winner.
Reacting to the photos, Mrs Becky Madojemu said she is surprised at how healthy the female inmates look.
“Can’t believe how fresh these inmates are. Even those under the canopies are robust.” she wrote.

The national spokesperson of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Francis Enobore, explaining why they organised the pageant show, said it is to keep the inmates in sound and good spirit.
He said,
“What happened is that as part of our reformation and rehabilitation programme and to also keep the inmates in a sound and good spirit, we organise a number of social engagement amongst them. Some could be recreational activities, some could be theatre work like entertainment.
“There are a number of programs that we introduced to get the inmates happy and put them in a good frame of mind. First, we ensure that while they are there, they are open to correction, second, we ensure that they are there in good spirit in order to help them kill boredom. There are so many things we do. In line with this, the officer in charge of the Kirikiri correctional facility organised some competitions among the inmates like cooking, tailoring, make-up, among others.
“These are things that will make them happy because our primary responsibility is to keep them safe and sound. That was what happened and she emerged the best in the competition. It is part of what we do. In fact, the person in charge of the Kirikiri female prison has been doing marvellously well.”

Nigerian rapper, Mo Olateru-Olagbegi, popularly known as Mocheddah, has opined that those expressing outrage over the beauty pageant that was held in prison do not know how the prison system works.
In series of post shared on her Insta-stories, Mocheddah enlightened Nigerians that there are daily and yearly activities that the inmates engage in at correctional facilities. She went on to state that the inmates even earn wages while in prison.
She added that these activities helps in decreasing their levels of stress and violence.
In her words,
“Everyone complaining about the prison pageant pageant hasn’t watched orange is the New black. This is far from defending crime, it’s just facts. Until I wantched OTNB, I did not know what went on in r=prisons. It’s a correctional facility that has daily/yearly activities. Inmates even earn wages while in prison. You are only put in solitary confinement if you break prison rules or are in danger (Now this exempts you from any activity at all)”
This comes after Nigerians expressed outrage after photos emerged showing Chidinma Ojukwu, who is standing trial for the murder of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga, contesting in a beauty pageant with other inmates and emerging as the winner.
Andrew Nice, the infamous BRT driver arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old passenger, Bamise, has been accused of rape by another alleged victim.
In a chat with Punch, the lady said she boarded his bus while returning from work on the night of November 25, 2021. She said he put off the light the way he did when Bamise was alone on the bus with him, and added that he parked in a secluded area and raped her at knifepoint.
The former salesgirl at a shop in Ajah said she closed from work around 8pm and boarded the BRT bus driven by the suspect at Alesh Bus Stop in Ajah.
Andrew was to convey her from the Alesh Bus Stop, to Jakande, along the Lekki Epe Expressway, when things took a turn.
“While on our way, he switched off the light of the bus, but the AC was on. But as we approached the first toll gate coming from Ajah, he suddenly parked the bus. He then told me to come and sit at the front and started asking me different questions.
“I saw him using a drug and my thinking was that he parked the bus to use the drug before time ran out. A few minutes later, he started making advances towards me and I saw that his manhood had risen up. I became very uncomfortable and insisted on getting down, but he didn’t open the door.
“He said he wanted both of us to go and chill and that he wanted to have sex with me, but I declined. Suddenly, he brought out a knife and dragged me to the back seat of the bus. He told me to take off my clothes, but I refused. He threatened to kill me. He tore my gown, forcefully removed the biker short I wore and raped me. I felt sad.” She told Punch.
The victim said she could not call for help because Andrew parked the bus in a deserted spot and refused to let her depart after allegedly rapping her.
“He insisted on driving me to my destination at Jakande Bus Stop. When we got to my bus stop, he still didn’t open the door. He demanded my account number and started pleading over what he did. He said he wanted to send money to me to buy painkillers.
“I refused to give him my account, but he kept demanding and refused to open the door. Before he raped me, he seized my phone, and because I needed evidence, I gave him my account and he sent N3,000. He then opened the door and I left.
“I could not speak out because I was ashamed of what happened and believed I could not get justice. But when his pictures started circulating online regarding the death of the lady, I told my friend that I knew him.” She added.
She also shared her bank statement showing that the suspect sent N3,000 to her on November 25, 2021.
The mother of the 22-year-old woman who was murdered by suspected ritualists in Osun state reportedly advised her not to go out the day she went missing on Wednesday, March 9.
It was earlier reported that the young lady, identified as Shakirat, was gruesomely murdered and her corpse dumped behind her mother’s shop at Oke-Oore, Iwo, Osun state. Read here
Unconfirmed reports from a man based in Iwo, Osun state, Basheer Ola who said he got the information from a member of his team who is related to the deceased, claim Shakirat’s mother warned her against going out on Tuesday but she was adamant and went out against her mother’s advise.
The said relative claim she didn’t sleep at her mother’s house since Tuesday but was reportedly staying at a ‘Yahoo Boy’s’ residence.

Nigerian writer, Solomon Buchi has spoken up in the defense of dancer Korra Obidi’s husband, Justin Dean, after he was dragged for bringing their marital crisis online.
It can be recalled that Justin recently took to social media to announce that he wants to divorce the dancer, and accused of her of being a cheater and a narcissist.
At first netizens thought it was a prank but when it got real, netizens criticized Justin for bringing their marital troubles online and for wanting to split up from Korra barely a week after she gave birth to their second child.
Reacting to the backlash, Solomon in a series of tweets, took sides with Justin and said his action is justified.
He wrote,
“Why did Korra’s husband bring it online? Well, because they are an ‘online couple’ — she’s been the one putting him out there in her videos. If he doesn’t speak up first to the public, the narrative can be manipulated by her to her fans. He NEEDED to make it public.

A Nigerian woman has celebrated 14 years of being married to her husband without another wife.
The woman who identified herself as Mrs. Fatimah Aliu in a video making the rounds online expressed her joy and gratitude to God for being the only wife of her husband.
Mrs. Aliu noted that when she and her husband marked their 12th wedding anniversary 2 years ago, people told her that she should expect a co-wife.
She bragged that she’s now celebrating her 14th wedding anniversary and is still the love of her husband’s life. She danced in achievement as she celebrated 14 years of marital bliss.

The man whose wife delivered their bundle of joy at the Tantra Hill hospital in Accra stormed the hospital with the brand new car.
A video that found its way onto the internet shows the elated new dad, who couldn’t hide his joy, thanking his wife for the beautiful present of a baby.
People present at the scene gathered to admire the automobile and congratulate the pair as the new mother is seen clutching her baby in her arms.

Recall that Chidinma whose murder trial is still ongoing, emerged winner of the pageant show and was crowned ‘Miss Cell 2022’ – a development that sparked mixed reactions online.
Latasha has now weighed into the conversation in a series of post she shared on her Instastories. According to her, would the society be accommodating if it was sexual assault suspect, Baba Ijesha, or the BRT driver arrested over the abduction and murder of Bamise Ayanwole, that participated in a pageant show in jail.
She wrote,
“If this were Baba Ijesha. Winning some weird prison version of Mr Universe or even this BRT bus driver – looking oily and jacked up like a motor pack Magic Mike, would we be this accomodating??? So I’m not saying discriminate against Chidinma as though she has no rights in the correctional system but apply discretion. It was necessary for her to participate.
The case isn’t over. It was too widely sensationalized. The photographs of her in full makeup, wigs and sexy dress are all too much for the deceased’s family and friends.”

A 22-year old woman identified as Shakirat has been found dead days after she was declared missing by her family.
The young lady had gone missing since Wednesday, March 9 until her corpse was found at the back of her mother’s shop on Thursday, March 10 at Oke-Oore, Iwo, Osun stat, a resident of Oke-Oore, who pleaded anonymity, told Punch.
The victim is said to have been murdered and dumped at the location she was found by suspected ritualist.
“She was last seen Wednesday afternoon and her family members became worried when she did not return in the evening. Her corpse was found behind her mother’s shop very early on Thursday. Some police operatives later came and took the body away. We later learnt that they took her to morgue in Iwo General Hospital,” the source said.
Spokesperson of the Osun police State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the development said police had commenced investigation into the incident.
He added that the command wanted autopsy to be carried out on the corpse, but “the family insisted on burying her and we have released the corpse to the family.”
