Thee founder and General Overseer of Christ Living Hope Church, Reverend Ekwem Emmanuel Ugochukwu, has been granted bail to the tune of N2m by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State on Friday April 1, granted

Last month, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested the cleric with drugs at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The clergyman was arrested while on his way to a crusade in Nairobi, Kenya, with 54 sticks of cannabis. wrapped around his body.

Following his arrest, the NDLEA arraigned the suspect on a one-count of unlawful export of the banned drug. He was first arraigned on 29 March.

The charge reads: “That you Ekwem Emmanuel Ugochukwu, male, adult, on or about the 7th day of March 2022 during the outward clearance of passengers of Ethiopia Airlines flight to Kenya at screening 1, Departure Hall of Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja-Lagos, without lawful authority exported 40 grammes of Cannabis Sativa, a narcotic drug similar to Cocaine, Heroin, and LSD.”

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Daniel Osiagor, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2 million with one surety after his “not guilty” plea to a one-count charge and adjourned the trial to June 26.

He, however, remanded the defendant in NCoS custody till the perfection of his bail conditions.

A motorist has taken to social media to lament after he was charged N110,000 for parking his car at an ‘illegal’ spot in Lagos.

According to the man, he went out with his mechanic to buy a battery hanger for his car and he parked directly in front of the shop when they got there.

He said he remained in his car while the mechanic got down to buy the battery hanger. However, just as he was about to drive off, some officers accosted him and accused him of illegal parking.

He claimed they then towed his car with him in it to their office and dented his bumper in the process. He revealed that he was charged N110,000 for illegal parking (80K fine and 30K for tow charge) and N2,000 for gate fee to allow him drive his car out of the compound.

He added that he had to make calls before the ticket was reduced to N25,000 and he still had to pay N2,00 for the gate fee.

Sharing photos of his car and the invoice that was issued to him, he wrote in part

“110,000 Naira aira for illegal parking, is this not ridiculous? how much is the minimum wage in the country? how can you charge someone that muc… What if I didn’t know these people that called on my behalf, where would I have gotten that type of ridiculous amount to pay? This country is a mess.”

The man who threatened to kill comedian Mr. Macaroni has apologized, moments after Mr. Macaroni shared a screenshot of his post.

We reported earlier that the content creator’s life was threatened by a Buhari lover on Twitter who opposed Mr. Macaroni’s decision to stage a protest at the Lekki Toll Gate.

In a public apology tendered on his handle, @lawalt2010 he wrote;
