On seeing his mum, Cross who was overly exited let out a loud scream, jumped out of his seat and embraced her.

Maritime University student, one other drown as boat capsizes in Warri River

A student of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) situated in Okerenkoko, Warri, Delta State, identified as Popo Precious, and a caterer working in the institution, have drown in a boat mishap on Warri River.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday morning, October 1, when the deceased and other passengers were travelling from Okerenkoko to Warri.

It was gathered that they took a private boat, instead of the designated school boat which they already paid for as part of their school fees. Sadly, the boat reportedly capsized while enroute to Warri.

The other students were rescued by the boat driver while Popo, a Marine Engineering Cadet, Tamar 3, and the caterer were declared missing. However, their bodies were later discovered by local divers.

Popo, from Ijaw tribe, was reportedly buried on that same evening while the body of the female caterer was deposited at the Warri Central Hospital.

A top official of the Institution, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, October 3, disclosed that the boat driver has been arrested.

“They boarded a private boat against the school rule that students and staff should only make use of school owned boats and any other provided by management to ferry students to Warri,” the official said.

“It was on their way going that the boat capsized. Unfortunately, one of our students and caterer drowned in the process. We don’t know exactly what happened but the boat driver is already answering questions from police. The school has never recorded a case of boat mishap since we commenced academic activities.” he added.

Congolese dancer, Jeny BSG has taken to social media to reveal that she was a victim of domestic violence in her previous relationship.

The dancer, who called off her engagement with her ex-fiancé, Ideologiste, in January 2021, finally broke her silence and revealed what caused their separation.

According to her, she suffered different forms of abuses in his hands but still stayed because she thought everything would get better but it never did so she left.

She shared photos and videos of her battered face on her official Instagram page and disclosed that she wished she left the abusive relationship earlier.

Mother of Big Brother Naija season 6 winner, Whitemoney has expressed gratitude after her son emerged winner of the reality show.

In a video that found it’s way to the internet the proud mum thanked the organizers of the show, fellow shine ya eye housemates, fans and everyone that supported her son.

She noted that the platform made Whitemoney a better person and before now he had always wanted a platform to showcase his talent.

Last night, October 3rd the show host, Ebuka announced fan favourite, Whitemoney as this year’s winner of the sixth season of the most watched reality TV show in Africa.

Only six housemates were left earlier in the week to vie for the grand prize worth N90m and while the night saw the eviction of five out of this six, only 1 emerged as winner and it was none other than the Mazi himself, WhiteMoney.

According to Ebuka, up to 1 billion votes were counted this season cumulatively and it’s absolutely clear that WhiteMoney amassed a chunk of these votes as the stats of how the viewers voted puts him way ahead of others.

According to reports, Brakinface died in his sleep on Sunday, October 3. He was said to have gone to bed healthy the night before but never woke up.

The media personality had his first-ever show tagged “Outside with Brakinface” scheduled for November 27th before his sudden demise.

His friends have taken to social media to pay tribute and express sadness over his passing.

Former Delta state House of Assembly speaker, Osanebi Friday wrote on Instagram,

“Brakinface…what a sad story this early morning. I woke up with the rude shock of your untimely demise…just 4 days to my Birthday! Last year you added glamour to the celebrations and in your unique ways, imparted lives…God !

The lady identified as @papa_addae on Twitter, revealed that her aunt went under the knife to increase the size of her backside, but unfortunately she had complications and died during the procedure.

The bereaved while mourning her deceased aunt advised ladies to love their natural bodies regardless of their physique.

Squid Game set to overtake Bridgerton as Netflix’s biggest show to date

Popular South Korean survival drama television series, Squid Game is stealthily becoming Netflix’s biggest TV show ever, if the early viewership figures hold.

The creepy hyper-violent Korean series which premiered on the platform in September this year, sees 456 desperate contestants compete with each other in a mysterious and deadly survival game. The multiple rounds of games has a top prize of almost £30 million.

The characters take on a traditional children’s game such as Red Light and Green Light, and losing out has an ultimate consequence of death.

Though viewers have been left sickened by the gory scenes in the horror thriller series, it has became a global sensation and topped the charts as the number one show in many countries, including the UK and the US.

Said to be a horrifying version of Takeshi’s Castle, some fans have repeatedly asked if the dystopian show which sheds light on staggering wealth inequalities, was in fact real.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos who said the series will “definitely be their biggest non-English-language show in the world”, added that there was “a very good chance it’s going to be their biggest show ever”.

If this stands, the show will overtake Bridgerton which is Netflix’s current number one original show of all time. Bridgerton had 82 million subscribers tuning in to watch at least two minutes of the show in its first 28 days on the service, and a whopping 625 million total hours viewed within its first four weeks of release on the service.

As a relatively new title, Squid Game has been on the platform for few days and its popularity seems to be stretching across different mediums. In recent days, fan-made games based on the deadly challenges found in the show have started to crop up all over Roblox. Several Squid Game remakes have also made their way onto the platform’s most popular lists, with many more showing up after a quick search of the buzzworthy title.

The streaming giant has had huge success with international series, with the likes of Germany’s Dark and Spain’s Money Heist proving popular with viewers.

According to the 28-year-old, before she went on the Big Brother Naija show in 2019 she already built herself a house in her hometown, and had used 3 luxury cars.

“I drove 3 cars before bbn…Toyota Martrix, Toyota Rav 4 and Mercedes Benz Glk”, she wrote.

A fan of the reality star also revealed that she already built a house in her home town before going on the reality TV show. Mercy Eke quoted the fan’s tweet and revealed the house was her first project even before she bought herself a car.

Reacting to Mercy Eke’s post netizens called her out, accusing her of claiming to be poor on the show to get the sympathy of viewers.
