Veteran comic-actor, Mr Ibu has disclosed that when he welcomed his first child, he prayed for him to look like his mother and not him.
Mr Ibu who spoke about his life in an exclusive interview with Punch, revealed he made the hilarious request because he knows that he’s not good looking and would prefer his child look like his beautiful wife.
“I had my first child in 1991, I remember the joy in my heart; I was happy and grateful to God. I picked up my baby and said that he should look like his beautiful mother and not me, everyone laughed.
They asked why I was saying that and I said that because I know I am not good looking, and they all laughed. I am very truthful to myself; I know that I am not good looking, so I do not want any of my children to take after me in that aspect, they can take after me in every aspect but not in terms of beauty, and as God will have it, they look beautiful just like my wife”. He said.
Read more excerpts from the interview below,
What are the values you have instilled in yourself that have helped you as a dad?
First of all, you have to build confidence in yourself. You learn everyday as a father, and I never miss any opportunity to learn everyday and this makes me a better parent. I have people who learn from me and I teach them how to build a home even though I had some ups and downs in the course of trying to build a home. My first and second marriages failed; they (my wives) left me after having a child each for me. I wondered what made them make such decisions and they made me know that it was because I didn’t have money. This made me know that I have to be able to keep my family and provide for them and make sure that they are satisfied and not have any reason to look down on me.
Are any of your kids toeing your career path?
Yes, I have two of my children who are toeing my career path and I am very proud of that. They are proud of their father; they love my art and decided to follow in my path. I never forced them, it was their choice and I am glad that they are doing what they love, and it also shows that they are proud of what I do and want to be like me.
How do you discipline your kids?
I do not believe in beating children, I am not saying others who do it are wrong, but it is not my style. In disciplining my children, I have a different method, I rather speak to them, I caution them a lot and they can easily see that I am not pleased with whatever they might have done wrong, they realize their wrongs and apologise to me, and believe me, they mean it and do not repeat such.

Just realised a BBNajia 2021 contestant DMed me in 2019 and I didn’t reply.
My wife don surely already enter my DM. Operation reply everybody!

It is IMPERATIVE to note that I am not saying this person is a part of the LGBT+.

The video of Nollywood actors, Regina Daniels and Somadina Adinma having a quite confrontational conversation made its way to internet recently and mixed reactions have trailed the video since its emergence.
The video shows Regina, a mother of one, confronting Somadina in what is supposedly a shooting scene from a movie set — she’s heard asking “why did you come close to me if you were not going to marry me”?
While captions that’s trailed the video are not unrelated to the actress and her ex-boyfriend seen together in close proximity, engaging in a conversation that’s quite suggestive, there’s however some attributes in the video we’ve spotted that makes us certain it’s not what some naïve peeps might think it to be.
From our observations, it’s clear that the video was recorded from a movie set (we’ll get to why in a bit) but we can’t however dismiss the fact that we are part of the population who didn’t think we’ll get to see both actors work together so soon given their history… impressive professionalism we must say!
Have a look at the video yourself before we dig into why we think it is what it is,
So here’s a few details we noticed in the video that makes it certain for us that it’s from a movie set.
You just might have missed it, but few seconds into the video, just above the heads of the actor, an object which looks like a boom mic (usually used in shooting movies) is seen with wires placed around it…
… given their location which looks like a courtroom, which tends to echo when partially filled, it’s understandable why a director would make use of a boom mic so as to capture the sounds of the actors perfectly. More so, listening to the audio of the video, their voices does sound like it’s echoing in the location they’re in.
Another thing we noticed is what would be a prop, two file folders placed on a table…
…this type of file folders are mostly seen with lawyers, courtrooms and what have you… and just like we mentioned earlier that it appears they are in a courtroom, the folders definitely shouldn’t be a coincidence.
There certainly are doubts as to whether or not the gentleman being confronted is actually Somadina because he backs the person recording and not much of his face can be seen, but the person does have the build of the actor and it can be pretty much assumed that he’s the one.
But in the exception that he’s not the one, we guess we’ll just have to safely assume that it’s a different actor standing beside the actress, having such a delicate conversation, hopefully on a movie set.
However, in the unimaginable event that none of our observations are real and indeed, the actress is truly having this confrontation, then this video would obviously be a scandal that would have blown up the internet since it emerged in it, and we clearly don’t think that such a scandalous video can just emerge on the internet like that (reasons are best known to few… just saying).
In this week’s episode of the Big Brother Naija live eviction show, two fresh housemates have made their exits from the Big Brother house.
For the seventh week of the sixth season of the reality TV show, a total of seven housemates were put up for eviction and two were evicted on Sunday night.
Earlier in the week, the nomination process took a different turn as housemates were obligated to nominate who they want up for eviction before vying for the Head of House post.
The results of the nomination left Pere, Saga, Emmanuel, Liquorose, Whitemoney, Jaypaul, Saskay and Jackie B all up for possible eviction… but after winning the HoH challenge and becoming second runner up, Emmanuel and Pere were saved from eviction for this week, with the latter replacing himself with Queen.
So the housemates up for eviction were Saga, Liquorose, Whitemoney, Jaypaul, Saskay, Jackie B and Queen but this evening saw the eviction of Jackie B and JayPaul.
Here’s how viewers voted,
Jackie B’s journey in the Big Brother Naija ‘shine ya eyes’ reality TV show has come to an end.
The mother-of-one was the second housemate to be evicted on Sunday night and she hugged the other housemates before she finally left the house.
Her eviction comes just as her relationship with WhiteMoney seemed to have been improving.
WhiteMoney disclosed that he’s got feelings for Jackie B and she knows. He also averred that they were both mature about everything.
He was visibly upset when her name was announced as the next housemate to be evicted.
Queen has opened up on her relationship with fellow housemates, WhiteMoney and Cross.
She described WhiteMoney as her acting Boyfriend, stating that he is the one she’s been closest with ever since she stepped into the house.
In her words ;
I enjoy his company, he performs all the boyfriend duties, I just like his energy.
She also said she finds Cross attractive but he is her friend and there are no strings attached.
Jaypaul has been evicted from the Big Brother Naija ‘shine ya eyes’ house.
The nominated housemates received votes but for JayPaul, he just didn’t poll enough to remain in the house.
Jaypaul gave his love-interest, Saskay a goodbye kiss before he departed.
Apart from the eviction on the night, Ebuka asked Yousef about his relationship with Angel – Yousef said he has an understanding with her and they are just friends.
