“She didn’t know that I have already met the Lord Jesus Christ, that old things have passed away, that all things have become new. And we prayed a simple prayer and the child began to walk.”

In his words,
“If you are a child of God and you are watching Big Brother Naija, you are killing your spirit.
“I’m not against people doing their business, but morality must be handled in our generation. I was watching a video on the internet a few days ago, one of them was practically masturbating.
“And that is on live TV. This is what some parents leave on the TV for their children to watch and they go inside to sleep. She was caressing herself with her finger on a national TV. And it’s a show.
“You think it will not deal with your spirit being and spirit man? It will kill your prayer life. There are things that shouldn’t get your attention. Someone came to my house and attempted to switch to the channel but discovered that it was blocked.
“I’m not against anybody; even one girl from my village is there. But we must handle morality, if not, in the next five years, these things that are done secretly will not be secret again.”

Grammy-award winning singer, Burna Boy and his colleague, Mr. 2kay, seem to have squashed the long-running beef between them.
Recall that in 2017, Burna Boy was called into questioning by the Police over the battering of Mr. 2kay.
It all began in October of that year when Mr. 2Kay reacted to the negative things Burna Boy said about Nigerian pastors. Mr. 2Kay during an interview with Hip TV let it be known that he didn’t approve of what Burna Boy said.
Mr 2Kay said Burna Boy shouldn’t have spoken ill of pastors because they are anointed men of God so he can’t be talking about them in that manner.
Burna Boy, saw the interview and allegedly sent a threatening DM to Mr. 2Kay.
“You better have that energy when I come for you because I’m coming for you,” he allegedly threatened.
Mr. 2Kay then got beaten and robbed at Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless concert.
The police investigation was never made public but it seems both parties have now moved on from the messy beef, as they were seen hugging and laughing at a Night club.
Popular Nollywood Movie producer, Mo Abudu, has revealed that the story of the ‘rise and fall’ of international fraudster, Hushpuppi, will be turned into a movie.
According to Mo, Ebonylife Studios will partner with Will Packer Production to bring the story to the big screen.
Mo said the story has to be told from a Nigerian Perspective because there are lots of lessons to learn from it.
She wrote on her Instagram page ;
EbonyLife Studios is partnering with Will Packer Productions to develop an untitled project based on the Bloomberg article “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master” by Evan Ratliff.
When the Hushpuppi story made headlines last year, I pitched the story idea to @willpowerpacker and James Lopez. They bought the idea and as headlined in this press release, together we won the rights to the Bloomberg article by Evan Ratliff mentioned above. The rights were won after a highly contested derby by several producers and is now set up at Universal Pictures. The globetrotting action thriller project is said to be a hybrid of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and USUAL SUSPECTS.
It’s a dream come true to be working with WIll Packer Productions and Universal Pictures on this project 😊😊😊
Just as a refresher, Will Packer Productions and Universal Pictures need no introductions. WPP has released a number of blockbusters that include …… ‘‘Girls Trip”, “Think Like a Man Too”, “Ride Along”, “Think Like a Man”, “Takers”, “Obsessed”, “Breaking In” and “Stomp the Yard” and Universal Pictures with over a 100 years in the business of movie making in Hollywood, have produced some of the biggest titles in the world.
I cannot contain my excitement 💃💃💃
Firstly, there are many lessons to be learnt from good and bad stories.
Secondly if we do not tell this story, someone else will and to ensure that this story is told with authenticity, a Nigerian storyteller with our pedigree needs to be involved.
Too often, these types of characters are one-dimensional and feed into the worst stereotypes.
Hushpuppi’s story is based on a real person whose story is already partly known to the world but the film gives us a real chance to tell a cautionary tale about a character formed by his environment and life choices.
The films of Martin Scorsese are a great example of a filmmaker telling richly layered stories of criminal characters from his heritage that we’ve all grown to love, without ever creating the impression that all Italian-Americans are members of the mafia. Needless to say, all Nigerians are not 419 scam artists.
Remember the little boy who went viral after he photobombed a couple’s wedding in 2017? Well, new photos of him has been shared online and he looks all shades of cute.

Mayowa Dudushewa Ekundayo, a mother of two has advised Nigerian women to never look down on a man because of his present financial state, as things could change for the better in the nearest future
She gave the advice today August 4, hoping it helps someone in a similar situation.
Her post reads ;
It was a day of joy when my husband bagged his PhD. I was very happy and fulfilled because we started the journey together!
When we met 6 years prior, he was doing his Masters programme but was struggling financially and had to support himself by working as a waiter in a restaurant.
I still said “Yes” to him when he asked me for a relationship because I saw beyond his present struggle. I saw a man who had a vision, clear about his purpose, hard working and loved me. I was ready to “suffer” with him because I knew I would also “reign” with him. It was only a matter of time.
Many ladies today want a ready-made man. A man they would not need to “suffer” with but only “reign” with.
Please, don’t look down on a guy just because of his present financial state! Don’t lose a great guy! Don’t despise the days of humble beginnings.
I hope this helps someone?

Fraud: Two Bankers for Stealing From the Dead
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Uyo Zonal Command, has secured the conviction of two bank officials, Daniel Akpan Eno and Mbuk Idongesit before Justice Edem Ita Kufre of the Cross River State High Court, Calabar for conspiracy and theft of funds in the account of a deceased customer of a commercial bank.
The duo were convicted on Wednesday August 4, 2021 after pleading guilty to separate one count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and fraudulent transfers. A third defendant, and alleged accomplice, Victor John Okon pleaded “not guilty”. His trial was adjourned till August 10, 2021 for consideration of bail application.
Justice Kufre convicted and sentenced Akpan to three months imprisonment with an option of fine of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50, 000.00), while Idongesit was sentenced to three months imprisonment with an option of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30, 000.00) fine.
The convicts’ journey to prison started on May 23, 2021 when Idongesit (alongside one Utibe George- currently at large) approached Akpan with the burial programme of one Godfried Godwin Osso, a deceased customer of the Bank, whom George(at large) claimed was his step – father, with a plot to steal from the deceased’s account.
On May 24, 2021, George concluded the deal with the convicts and also contacted a Teller (Victor Okon – the 3rd defendant) from another branch of the bank to ease access to the funds in the account of the deceased. A 50% sharing formula was agreed upon by the conspirators and the plot was executed.
The commission waded in following a petition from the bank, alleging suspicious dissipation of monies in the deceased account into the accounts of family members and acquaintances, from where they were diverted to personal use.
Investigation revealed that on June 19, 2019 Victor Okon connived with George Ifiok Utibe (at large) and received the sum of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N1, 500, 000.00). Daniel Akpan also benefited the sum of One Million and Forty Thousand Naira (N1, 040, 000.00) while Godwin Mbuk benefited the sum of One Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira (N130, 000.00) only
The judge ordered the convicts remanded at the Nigerian Correctional facility until they pay their fines, while Victor was remanded at the Commission’s detention facility pending the hearing of his bail application.

Lionel Messi’s Barcelona future is currently hanging by a thread following reports that he will not renew his contract at the club where he has played all his life.
According to Dario Marca, “There has been a radical turnaround in the case of Lionel Messi’s renewal with Barcelona, with recent information being that the deal was close to being announced, yet a blockbuster revelation has suggested that Barcelona will now not be able to re-sign the Argentine,” claims the Madrid-based paper.
This news comes in stark contrast with previous reports, which claimed that an investment made by the company CVC into La Liga would make it easier for the Catalans to stay under the salary cap with Messi taking a 50% pay cut.
This new report says that while the cash injection would help, it would still keep the situation quite fraught in terms of the wage bill.
And one big complication is that were La Liga to accept the cash injection, the big teams would be forced to abandon the European Super League concept. This is something that Real Madrid and Barcelona are resistant to doing.
This means that, according to MARCA, we are left with “a situation whereby Barcelona extending Messi’s contract and moving forward with the Super League plans are impossible to do together.
