Edo state-born Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has been lauded online after she shared an adorable video of her son, Xavier, learning her dialect.

The mother of one took to her Instagram page on Wednesday, June 15 to share a video of herself and her son conversing in her dialect.

In the video, little Xavier could be heard asking his mother for permission to play outside.

Yvonne replied to him in their dialect, and her son responded.

Sharing the video, the actress noted that she’s too proud of her dialect for her not to teach her son to speak fluently.

In her words,

“Our daily struggle. I’m too proud of my dialect not to pass it down. #Repost @xavierjegede_f with @make_repost・・My mama insists that i speak her dialect. This is my struggle 🙈🥰😂🤣”.

Nigerians flocked to the comments section after seeing the video to praise the actress for teaching her son her dialect, pointing out that many parents in Nigeria today only want their children to speak fluent English.
