A woman has shared a safety warning after experiencing a frightening kitchen mishap while preparing palm oil stew to accompany a plate of beans.

In a video making the rounds online, she is seen pouring the oil into the already heated pot, the clip then shows her adding onion, followed by blended pepper. After the startling explosion, she continues recording the rest of her cooking process

Explaining what happened, the woman revealed that the palm oil had been overheated before she added blended pepper, causing it to explode. Sharing the clip, she wrote, “Lesson learnt: Once you’ve bleached your palm oil, allow it to cool before proceeding,” urging others to exercise caution when handling extremely hot palm oil.
