Popular Nigerian lawyer and award winning author, Reno Omokri has revealed why drinking of alcohol is not a sin.

According to him, the scriptures only warned against drunkenness as he made biblical quotes to reveal that even Jesus drank alcohol.

In his words,

“Drinking alcohol is not a sin-Ecclesiastes 9:7. But drunkenness is a sin-Galatians 5:21. It is unscriptural to preach against alcohol. Christ Himself changed water to ALCOHOLIC wine (only the mentally lazy believe Christ turned water to non alcoholic wine)-John 2:7-10.

“Even in heaven they drink wine (Matthew 26:29). Wine is medicinal. (1 Timothy 5:23). In fact, Psalm 104:15 says God created wine to gladden the hearts of men. Scripture allows you use your tithe to buy alcohol, including spirits (Deuteronomy 14:26).

“Stop allowing yourself to be used for merchandise by men who impose their own laws on you and lie that it is the command of God. Emancipate yourself from religious bondage. Get your doctrine from Scripture, not tradition or church regulations. The Son has set you free. Don’t allow men keep you in bondage!”

Ekiti to procure N550m drones to fight kidnapping, banditry

The Ekiti State Government has disclosed plans to procure sophisticated drones as part of efforts to boost surveillance, expose criminal hideouts and combat insecurity.

The state’s Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning Mr. Femi Ajayi disclosed this at the weekend during the breakdown of the 2021 Appropriation Law with a budgetary provision of N109.666 billion.

He said the state government projected N550 million to purchase the drones as part of plans to tackle armed robbery, banditry and kidnapping.

Ajayi added that N1.4 billion has been set aside to fund the Ekiti State Security Network code-named “Amotekun Corps” for the security outfit to live up to its responsibility.

He said the government budgeted N8billion for social services, covering education, health, gender empowerment, social security and other pivotal subsectors critical to the growth of the economy.

A Nigerian senior citizen has gone viral on social media after she was filmed hijacking a commercial bus following a hot exchange with the bus driver.

Twitter user @iamprofstar who shared the video on his page, said the incident happened because the driver failed to drop his passengers at Orile Bus Stop along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and blatantly refused to give them their ”change”.

Couple cry out after one of their 2-month-old twin babies dies due to alleged negligence in Lagos hospital

A Nigerian man identified as Imbul Dooyum Kelvin, and his wife, Mimidoo Rufina, have called out a Lagos Hospital, Gbaja Randle Mother and Child hospital in Surulere, Lagos, over alleged negligence which led to the death of their two-month-old twin-daughter, Zoe.

The heartbroken father disclosed the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, January 15, 2020, two days after they arrived the hospital.

In his words ;

“We woke-up on Wednesday morning and my wife said our baby wasn’t eating well again so we took her to the hospital, the doctor examined her and said she was ok but let us run a blood test to confirm if there was an infection.

Shortly after they took blood from her, my daughter cried for two-hours nonstop. We called the attention of the doctor and they rushed her to the ER and placed her on oxygen.

She was responding very well not until on Friday, the doctor came in and asked my wife to breastfeed her because she was stable for breastfeeding, after breastfeeding her, my baby started crying and my wife ran to the nurses to please come check our daughter but instead they sent her away, telling her she disturb too much.

My wife begged them with tears that please she’s not understanding her daughter but they neglected her, it was after the baby gave up that my wife started crying that they came to check her but by this time she was far gone already.”

Iyabo Ojo had a lengthy live session on Instagram yesterday and she opened up on motherhood, depression and other topics.

On how she battled depression due to her failed marriage, she said ;

Anytime i was alone in my room, i’d always say to myself ”Iyabo Ojo, you’ve failed, you are ugly, how can you have a child and you’d be this skinny, before you had a child you were thick.

Now you need to lighten up your skin and even if you have a tattoo you are still ugly because no one is going to marry you, no one is going to accept you.

A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to share the good news, after her genotype miraculously “changed” to AA after attending a Christian program.

According to @PenuelChuks_ who testified about the miracle on the micro-blogging platform, it was part of her “2020 expectations” to see her genotype change, receive total healing from catarrh and ulcer.

Penuel who now claims that her genotyped has changed to AA and all her 2020 expectations met shared a medical test result to back claim of the genotype change.

Sharing a snapshot of the medical test result she wrote,

“Making a mess of the devil already. A hot mess”.

Meanwhile a Nigerian doctor has also taken to social media to recount how a young boy’s genotype miraculously changed from ‘SS’ to AA.

Dr Imoh Ebong who shared the testimony on Twitter claimed to be the doctor in charge of the boy’s case. The little boy identified as David was reportedly born with the sickle cell anemia.

Another Twitter user, Samsparrow Shalom took to the micro-blogging platform to claim that David’s genotype changed to AA after years of being SS and suffering from different crisis.

Popular Instagram comedienne, Taaooma has reacted to allegations by a Nigerian film maker that she didn’t meet the client’s expectation after collecting N1.5million for a skit.

Recall that the film maker with Twitter username @Olaondeck alleged that a client paid the content creator the sum of N1.5million naira to shoot a short video for his brand, but the client didn’t like the work on completion.

Veteran Nigerian musician, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed that late Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti approached her for marriage in the 80s.

Onyeka revealed this in her newly released autobiography, ‘My Father’s Daughter.’

According to the celebrated singer, she, however, rejected Fela’s proposal during her visit to his club because of his other wives.

She said she is a possessive lover and did not understand the music legend’s love for women.

Narrating how Fela proposed marriage, Onyeka wrote:

“The second time I saw Fela was in 1984, a few years after I had returned from the United States. He had just been released from jail.

The refusal of the white pigeons released by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony to take flight has sparked controversy on social media.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is usually observed in Nigeria on the 15th of January. Per custom, a ceremony held today at the National Arcade, Eagle Square in Abuja.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Federation, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other government officials.

As is the ritual, white pigeons are placed in a cage and the President is expected to set the birds free, symbolizing unity and peace and security in the country.

A Nigerian dug up an old interview video of Offset made years ago after he paid a visit to Nigeria. The 29-year-old singer was asked about his experience in Nigeria and he said Nigerian’s English is not good.

The video, apparently, triggered a lot of Nigerians as they took to his comment section to drag him for his grammatical error.
