New NANS president, Asefon condemns End SARS protest

Newly-elected National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS President, Sunday Asefon, has kicked against the #EndSARS protest, aimed at ending police brutality across the country.

According to Asefon, the protest would not solve the problem of police brutality because the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had dissolved the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Force.

The NANS president, speaking at a press conference in Abuja, stated that the association does not recognize the #EndSARS movement because it does not have a leader.

“Any protest that is faceless, NANS under my watch will not be a party to it,” he said.

Asefon stated that leaders of the association would be meeting the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) towards ending the eight-month-old strike.

He said he would be consulting with the representatives of the two feuding parties to find common ground to end the prolonged strike.

“I am convinced that this high-level consultation will yield a positive result, and we will not have to resort to mobilising students to mount any protest to this ridiculous long stay at home.

“NANS, under my watch, will not be complicit to such an unending strike and never again will Nigerian students have to stay home this long,” he said in a statement.

Singer Temmie Ovwasa who was formerly signed to YBNL, has squashed the beef with her former boss Olamide Adedeji hours after calling him out on Twitter.

Recall earlier today, Temmie Ovwasa accused Olamide of giving her and other artistes hope and snatching it from them. She alleged that he “gives the world the impression that he’s kind but beneath the facade is a man that leaves a trail of broken dreams.”

The singer who further accused Olamide of rejecting all her shows, also alleged that the rapper brought her to Lagos from Ilorin and kept her in a house for almost 5 years without allowing her to drop anything for 3 years.

Popular Nigerian singer, Flavour has spoken on his relationship with his colleague, Chidimma Ekile.

Over the years the duo have been rumoured to be having an affair, but never confirmed or debunked the claims.

The Channels TV staff, Pius Angbo, who was called out by his wife for beating her mercilessly four weeks after she welcomed their fourth child, has allegedly reconciled with her following the intervention of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state.

Recall that his wife, Ifeyinwa Angbo who is a medical doctor, called out her husband over his alleged long history of beating her up in their six years old marriage.

Former BBNaija housemate, Erica Nlewedim has shared her conversation with a scammer who posed as popular actor/model, Uti Nwachukwu.

The reality TV star took to twitter to recount the incident that happened in 2013, when she was still a teenager.

From the chat she shared, the scammer posing as Uti sent her a message on Facebook and gave the impression that he was scouting for models for a Billboard and Magazine ad.

Erica responded in the affirmative that she could handle the modelling task and their conversation moved to the BlackBerry chatting platform.

Although, she didn’t reveal the content of her BBM chat with the scammer, it was evident from their subsequent chat on Facebook that he had requested for the sum of N50,000 to promote her.

An infamous thief has been nabbed in Port Harcourt, Rivers state after snatching a phone and handbag from a victim.

The incident is reported to have occurred at Chida by Ada George area of Port Harcourt on Sunday night, December 6.

According to a vigilante member, Collins Chidoka who caught the suspect, eyewitnesses said the suspect and his gang members have been terrorizing residents of the area.

He wrote,

“Yesterday night at about 7:50pm on our way going to pepperoni at chida by Adagouge with my younger brother, and my presido the chairman of Diobu Security Service (DSS) popularly known as DIOBU VIGILANTE, was at the front driving while I was with my younger brother on my Bike driving too, when we got to happy food bakery i drove into a scene where this idiot and two other of his gang men carrying a bike was snatching a young girl’s phone and handbag,”

Popular Nigerian singer, Davido’s manager, Asa Asika has taken to social media to lament about not owning an iPhone 12.

According to his recent tweet, he has bought four of the mobile device but owns none.

Apple’s latest gadget, the iPhone 12 is what is hot right now, and it has got Asa Asika lamenting over not owning one.

With the trend, almost every iPhone lover is clamouring to get their hands on the phone which is almost N400k, and it appears people like Asika are the ones bearing the financial costs.

He wrote: “I’ve bought 4 iPhone 12’s now and I don’t own one. This life really no balance.”

The 26-year-old took to Instagram to share stunning photos of herself and her hubby donned in matching outfits, in celebration of their one year tradversary.

Chizzy noted that she has been a happy bride and their wedding still feels like it was yesterday.

She also appreciated her family, friends and well-wishers for their contribution to their marriage union so far.

#EndSARS: Any act of hooliganism will be dealt with – Buhari warns

President Muhammadu Buhari, says his administration will deal firmly with “any act of hooliganism hiding behind peaceful protests.”

He stated this on Monday while virtually declaring open the Chief of Army Staff’s Annual Conference 2020 from the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Buhari also said that although his government believed in the rights of citizens to embark on peaceful protests, such must be done responsibly.

“Let me also mention the EndSARS protest which was recently hijacked by hoodlums which resulted in loss of lives and property in many situations across the country.

“I want to reiterate our government’s commitment to the rights of citizens to embark on peaceful protests.

“However, this must be done responsibly in accordance with the laws of the land.

“I also want to state that any act of hooliganism hiding behind the peaceful protests, will be highly dealt with decisively to ensure the peace and stability of our nation.

“On this note, I commend the Nigeria Army for their efforts to swiftly restore law and order in many states during the last scale of criminality that ensued in the wake of the EndSARS protests,” he said.

A fan account of the 28-years-old Nigerian disc jockey had shared adorable photo of Cuppy on a yacht rocking a white bikini alongside a mystery man.

The mystery man gave an unusual pose as he placed his hands over his manhood while he gazed at DJ Cuppy.

The man’s pose and Cuppy’s outfit has stirred reactions online, as a fan alleged that Cuppy had earlier stated that her parents were against her wearing bikini.

SO SAD! Young man dies few hours after his wedding

A tragic incident has thrown the family and friends of one Roy Jairus Watuulo into mourning, following his death just few hours after his wedding in Kampala, Uganda.

It was gathered that Roy died in the early hours of Sunday, December 7, just hours after he tied the knot to his beautiful bride, Anitah Nabuduwa on Saturday, December 5.

According to close friends and relatives of the deceased, Roy started complaining about feeling ill moments after the wedding reception and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead around midnight.

Roy was in his late 20s before his unfortunate demise and the son of a University professor.

He and his wife had their traditional wedding ceremony in November, 2020, and officially got married on the 5th of December.

Meanwhile, friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the demise of Roy.

A colleague, identified as Lutoto Charity Martha wrote,

“With Deep Sorrow And Shock , Our Friend, Colleague And Brother

Roy Jairus Watuulo Has Passed On.

He Wedded On Saturday 5/12/2020 And Immediately Went To Be With The Lord On Sunday, Just A Few Hours After.
