A 29-year-old teacher, Odugbesan Ayodele Samson has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for kidnapping his former pupil, who the police identified as Rasaq Akeeb on November 4, 2020
The man has now told the police that it was the devil that pushed him to kidnap an eight-year-old pupil in Ogun State.

Ogun police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told DAILY POST on Wednesday that the teacher was arrested following a complaint lodged at Ajuwon divisional police headquarters by the mother of the victim, Fatimat Akeeb.
The mother had reported that her son went to school at Arifanla area of Akute in Ogun State, but did not return home till around 6pm that day.
She was reported to have told the police that she received a phone call from an unknown person, asking her to be ready to pay the sum of N200,000 if she wished to see her son alive.
“She stated further that the caller told her that the boy was brought to him by somebody and he will not release him until the said amount is paid,” it was learnt.
Upon the report, the DPO of Ajuwon division, SP Andrew Akinseye, had immediately directed his detectives to embark on a technical and intelligence based investigation, which Oyeyemi said led to the discovery of the suspect’s hideout.
“In order not to harm the victim, the suspect was lured out with part payment of his demanded ransom; he was subsequently apprehended and he took the police detectives to where he kept the victim and he was rescued unhurt.
“On interrogation, he confessed committing the crime but blamed it on the devil,” the PPRO stated.
The Ogun Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered, therefore, that the case be transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit of the state CIID for further investigation and prosecution.
Ajogun appealed to parents to be mindful of their children’s movement to and from school in order not to make them an easy prey to those he described as wolves in sheep’s clothing.

A Nigerian soldier has been spotted assaulting and beating up a driver in a video currently circulating online, and making threats on the man’s life.
The Nigerian military officer could be seen kicking the man off his vehicle, as he proceeded to rain hot slaps and stomping him while he was on the ground.
The soldier who reportedly overtook the man wrongly and scratched his car, could be heard ranting and threatening that he can kill him and nothing will happen.
Passersby by made frantic efforts to intervene and pacify and army man who appeared determined to continue assaulting the man.
According to the lady who shared the video, the man being beaten is her colleague’s driver.
The incident reportedly happened along Kaduna road.

Award winning Nigerian musician, Davido has opened up on the challenges he faced after making his relationship with his fiancée, Chioma public.
According to the father of three, bringing his relationship with Chioma to the limelight had an adverse effect on their affair, as everyone was in their business.
He further revealed that at some point, after his relationship became public through one of his music videos, ‘Assurance’, he was pressured to officially do the wedding.
Davido who made this revelations in a recent interview with Ndani Tv said,
“After the Assurance video, Chioma received hate messages from people. Her parents even got hateful messages.
“It affected our relationship too. Chioma went from being a private person. It affected our relationship a lot then I realized people don’t like something good.
“We started having issues at some point and we decided not to tell anyone anything about us, that’s was when I decided to go offline for a while

One of the six protesters, Caleb Ossai, has narrated how a boat operator came to their rescue and evacuated them to the Ikorodu area on the water.
It has been claimed that some #EndSARS protesters jumped into the river when the shooting started at Lekki toll gate.
At least six EndSARS protesters jumped into the river around the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos State on the evening of October 20, 2020, while the Nigerian Army deployed soldiers to fire bullets at peaceful protesters, SahahaReporters reports.
One of the six protesters, Caleb Ossai, told SaharaReporters that a boat operator came to their rescue and evacuated them to the Ikorodu area on the water.
He narrated that he was told a few persons, who were out of help, might have drowned.
Ossai said he was initially declared missing by his family members for close to a week before they traced him to the residence of a Good Samaritan in the Ikorodu area, where he was recuperating from the injuries he sustained during the ordeal.
The boat, which took the fleeing protesters from the Lekki Tollgate area to Ikorodu, almost capsized, according to the man who rescued Ossai, after he became unconscious during the incident.
In an interview with SaharaReporters, the 27-year-old said, “Trouble started when the soldiers arrived and started shooting, and some fell with injuries. People started running. Near the Lekki River where I was, some people also tried to escape from the bullets, and they began to push one another until some of us fell into the river. I could not swim, but I wore a white shirt. I was lucky to be visible, and the next time I woke up, I found myself in a house in the Ikorodu area.
“I could not find my phone or did not remember any contact of family members I could call. It took a week for my family members to be able to locate me. Many people jumped into that river. I am not sure everyone made it out alive. The man who hosted me in his house told me that the boat was filled and almost capsized as they journeyed to Ikorodu.”
It will be recalled that the peaceful EndSARS protest in the Lekki Tollgate area turned into a blood field on the evening of October 20 and around 6.50 pm, when soldiers from the 65 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Bonny Camp, Victoria Island, opened fire on the protesters. The military men killed and injured several demonstrators.
A certain Lieutenant Colonel Bello, who was the Commanding Officer of the battalion, had led the soldiers to fire bullets at the scene.
While addressing the Lagos Panel of Inquiry, Bello claimed that he only fired blank ammunition into the air.
According to witnesses, while people were rushed to hospital after bleeding from serious bullet injuries, complaints about missing persons increased from friends and family members of youths who were suspected of having attended the Lekki Tollgate protest.
Ossai was one of such requests.
A day after the shootings, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had initially denied any loss of life by gunfire or that he was aware of the deployment of soldiers.
Later, he admitted that two persons were killed in the incident, while the army said in a terse statement that the state government requested for a military clampdown on the protesters to enforce its earlier-than-scheduled curfew.
According to accounts of protesters, the deceased persons included two males; Folorunsho Olabisi and Anthony Okechukwu. His relatives have found Olabisi’s body at the mortuary of St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, with three bullet injuries.

According to Vivian, her admirer paid her N150k for a chance to go on a date with her but she rejected the money, stating that she is not a cheap person.
She gave the revelation via her Twitter account, where she revealed that the money was from a fan on the micro-blogging platform.
However, Nigerians trolled her for rejecting the money and pointed out how she needs the cash.
Vivian has shared a video addressing people who dragged her for rejecting the money. According to her, she knows her worth and can not be bought.
The young lady, who was livid, further added that she was offered 200k as compensation for the dragging but also rejected it.
DMW record label executive, Davido recently sat with media personality, Bolanle and had a conversation during her “The Juice” session where he spoke about a lot of things including his relationship with his counterpart, Wizkid.
Bolanle had asked the singer what lead him to promoting Wizkid’s latest album during the time he released and he said, there wasn’t really anything to it, as he just posted it.
After Bolanle asked him if he was hoping for a response from Wizkid, Davido replied saying “Wizkid never responds” so why would he be hoping for a response when he know doesn’t.
Inquiring further, Bolanle asked the singer if he has Wizkid’s number and he replied in the affirmative saying he does, but he has never called him.
As they continued in the conversation, Bolanle stated “Davido is more of a troublemaker than he makes himself seem” and she perceived his Wizkid post as him being more of a “bigger person than the other” but Davido interpreted her stance as thinking Wizkid feels he sees himself as someone bigger than he is and so, his post might have been to spite him but Davido said it wasn’t that way.

A Nigerian woman, Anietie from Akwa Ibom State, is now a proud mother as she given birth to a set of triplets, all girls, after 18 years of marriage.
Her cousin, Erinyana Monday, took to her facebook page to share the good news on Sunday, November 8 and described the feeling as one she will live to remember.
Sharing the photo of the proud new mother, Monday wrote ;
“After 18years of mockery, names calling and all sort, God has finally blessed my cousin with the fruit of the womb, not 1, not 2, but 3 beautiful souls. It’s a testimony I will ever live to remember, to God be the glory.”
Nigerians have been calling for a collaboration and Olamide has also joined the call.
