The beautiful mother of three said:

“Five days ago, I made a video saying that my marriage to Austin Faani is over. That video came with a lot of backlash, with people saying I suffered domestic violence.

That’s not true, Austin has never raised his hands on me. I am here at First Delta American hospital here in Asaba, I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.”

A prison officer identified as Alfred Bassa has allegedly committed suicide because he was denied a promotion three times despite meriting it.

28-year-old Bassa, a staff of the Nigerian Correctional Service, formerly known as Nigerian Prison Service, drank a poisonous substance on October 2, 2020, shortly after arriving at work at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Peoples Gazette reports.

The deceased reportedly wrote promotional examinations three times, passed three times and suffered denial from correctional authorities three times.

The microbiology graduate took the drastic decision to take his life as new set of officers were reportedly promoted last week and he was left out again.

According to the publication, his colleague had this to say ;

“He has watched as his contemporaries were being selectively promoted, including some who did not even pass promotional examinations,” People’s Gazette quoted a senior official as saying.

“He should have been at least promoted to assistant superintendent of prison II bar the injustice,”

Bassa was laid to rest on October 3.

BBNaija Double Wahala housemate, Alexandra Asogwa p.k.a Alex Unusual have opened up about her ordeal with depression after her stay in the house.

Alex made this revelation during her interview with Ndani TV on Tuesday. She said she prayed for death while battling depression and cried for a week.

According to her, the pressure after the reality show made her slide into depression twice.

She went on to narrate one of her experience. In her words,

“I have had to deal with my depressing state twice after I left the reality show.

”The first one was when I came back from South Africa. I had plans of going to my aunt’s house from the airport. At the airport, they were keeping us somewhere with security, then I heard some people wanted to beat me and I was confused.

“After that, they took me to a room and at least 10 people came to say they were my mum just because they wanted to see me.

”When my mum finally came, I laid on the floor and it was dramatic but no one understood what I was going through. When I was about to enter the car, my mum was trying to cover me and someone was pulling my hair, it was so hard.

”I went into depression the week after all these happened. I had to deal with people saying I was not laughing like a celebrity, I also had to deal with been compared with others.

Alex also asserted that it was easier for women to make it after the show than the male housemates.

An Abuja based woman, identified as Chichi Eze has reportedly died barely a year after her husband proposed to her with three luxury rings.

The news of her lavish surprise marriage proposal made headlines and was the talk of town at the time.

Nigerian disc jockey and record producer, Bally Balat has revealed that more than half of previous BBNaija housemates have at one time or the other gone into depression after leaving house.

Balat who is also a former housemate on the reality show in an interview with NdaniTV stated that the mental health of the housemates is affected by pressure, adding that not everyone can handle the pressure that come’s with being on the show.

In his words,

“Going for the show is not easy. I keep telling people that the pressure involved in the show is not for everybody. Not everyone can survive it

”I might be wrong, but I will say maybe 60 per cent of housemates have gone into depression. They might not be in depression now but they have gone through it one time. There is so much pressure.

Man drowns while trying to rescue $20 note he mistakenly dropped inside a river

A Liberian man, identified as Tamba Lamine, has lost his life after jumping from a bridge into a river in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, to rescue a $20 note that he had mistakenly dropped.

BBC reported that Lamine was walking with a friend on the bridge when the cherished $20 note fell into the river.

Moses Carter, the police spokesman, disclosed that Lamine who is a street hawker plunged into the river in the bid to save the money.

It was gathered that he found the money and showed it to onlookers, but drowned before he could make his way out of the river.

Mr Carter further revealed that it was very important for Lamine to rescue his money, because he needed to give his friend a share of the $20 bill.

Lamine and his friend reportedly got the money from a merchandise they jointly sold and were supposed to share their income before it dropped in the river.

He felt pressured to get the cash back because he needed to give his friend his “share” of some merchandise they jointly sold , Mr Carter noted.

Recounting the sad incident, Mr. Carter said onlookers who saw Lamine dive thought he was safe after he emerged from the water to show them the note, but he then disappeared and did not resurface.

He drowned in the Mesuradu River, which runs between mainland Monrovia and the industrial district of Bushrod Island.

Lady reveal barbers require consent letters from a woman’s husband or boyfriend before cutting her hair

A Nigerian lady have made a shocking revelation that barbers enquire for a letter of consent from a woman’s partner or male relative before they agree to cut her hair.

The lady with twitter handle @eketiette said the practice began when a soldier arrested everyone in the barber’s saloon after his wife got a haircut without his permission.

Her tweet reads,

Man strolls into barbershop. Gets haircut, pays 1,500 naira, leaves.

Woman strolls into barbershop, is asked to pay 2,500 naira for same haircut, plus present letter of consent from husband or boyfriend.

In Uyo, I was told the practice of asking for a letter of consent began when a soldier arrested everyone in the barbershop where his wife had her haircut.

The request for a letter/note also happens in Enugu and some parts Lagos. I don’t know the reason(s) though.

The police in Anambra state have arrested a 21-year-old man, Onyeamachi Mmaju, pictured above, for allegedly stabbing his landlord, Nonso Oyikoba, 35, to death in Ogidi Ani-Etiti in Idemili North LGA of the state on Tuesday, October 6.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, dislosed that police operatives attached to Ogidi Division led by the DPO CSP Ekuri Remigius, received a report of the tragic incident, and visited the scene.

On getting there, the victim who was found in a pool of his blood, was rushed to Iyi Enu Mission hospital Ogidi for medical attention where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on arrival.

Haruna said a careful observation on the deceased body revealed a stab wound on his back while a blood-stained knife allegedly used in perpetrating the act was also recovered as an exhibit at the scene.

Three-day #ENDSARS protest kicks off today in Lagos (Photos/Video)

A group of Nigerian youths have stormed the streets of Lagos to protest against the killings, brutality and extortion of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The young protesters came out en masse to protest against SARS brutality and demand an end to their operations.

Using the hashtag #LagosProtests, they shared photos and videos of the protest action on social media.

Some of the inscriptions on the placards they held were; “I AM NOT A CRIMINAL..” “STOP SHOOTING THE NIGERIAN YOUTH” “SARS.. AM I NEXT?” “..OUR LIVES MATTER”.

The group marched from Ikeja underbrigde to the Police Headquarters in Ikeja and stated that they intend to continue for the next three days.

Recall that popular Nigerian artiste, Naira Marley offered to lead a protest against SARS on Tuesday, October 6 but backed out.

This came after a statement was made by the Inspector General of Police, as he inform Nigerian youths that their voices and complaints on the issues of unprofessional conducts by some SARS operatives would been heard very loudly and clearly.

Naira took to Twitter to back out of the protest, as he said there will be an Instagram live session with PRO- DCP Frank Mba on his page.

“We won’t be protesting anymore because there’s a lot of changes being made right now. As a Marlian we will give them a week to see the changes and if there’s no changes we will start a mass protest” Naira tweeted in response to the IGP’s statement.

Young Nigerian man murdered in the US five months after graduating

A young Nigerian man has been murdered in the US five months after graduating from Virginia Tech where he studied industrial system engineering.

Alexander Nwogu, 23, had just been hired as a tech consultant with a Northern Virginia firm, Ernst and Young, before he was murdered around 1:30 a.m. at the Shell gas station in the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene after reports of gunfire. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services found Nwogu with a gunshot wound and determined he was dead, the police department said.

A police report said Nwogu suffered blunt trauma to the back of his head and a single gunshot wound to the middle of his back.

According to Virginia Tech, Nwogu graduated in May with a bachelor of science in industrial and systems engineering degree.

“It is a tragic loss of a very promising life,” said Charlie Klauer, an associate professor who advised Nwogu on his senior project in the department of industrial and systems engineering. “I would say that he was a perfect blend of studiousness, seriousness and fun. He knew what he wanted and he was going to go after it and he had direction, for sure. But he also was lighthearted and could be very funny.”

“Never had any negativity about him,” Nwogu’s friend, Will Ventura, said. “Really positive, really hardworking, and caring. And he had such a bright future ahead of him.”

Ventura said they dreamed of opening their own consulting firm together.

In a news conference, DC Police said they are looking for two suspects responsible for the murder of Alexander Nwogu.

The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who provides information for leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the homicide.

Nigerians dig up tweet of Lauretta Onochie calling President Buhari ”old man”

Presiden Buhari’s special adviser on social media, Lauretta Onochie, recently reacted to the outburst of Wizkid over SARS brutality.

Recall that Wizkid had recently referred to Buhari as an old man, in a post which was a reaction to the worrying case of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) extrajudicial killings and abuse of power.

Onochie who reacted to Wizkid’s tweet on Tuesday, blasted him for using the term old, stating that she is displeased with the manner in which the singer addressed President Buhari.

“It’s not disrespectful to call anyone old. It’s the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

“He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid.

When he grows up, he might learn respect,” she wrote.

The exchange between Onochie and Wizkid has been a top trend on social media, as many people say there’s nothing wrong in his statement.

Going the extra mile, Nigerians did a deep search and found an old tweet of Mrs Onochie referring to Buhari as an old man.

The tweet was posted in 2018 concerning the construction of Lagos-Ibadan rail project, and it read in part: “#PMBAtWork. An uninspiring Old man is building railway lines across Nigeria…”

BBNaija’s Kiddwaya Allegedly Clash With His Manager, Linek Over N5 Million

BBNaija lockdown housemate, Kiddwaya, is reportedly in conflict with his manager, Linek over a huge sum of money she allegedly received from a brand in a proposed partnership.

According to reports, Linek collected money to the tune of N5 million from the brand on Kiddwaya’s behalf without his consent, which made the Billionaire’s son livid.

It was gathered that Kidd was extremely angry when he found out and their relationship has gone sour. He has also been making his movements and visitations without Linek.

The name of the said brand was not disclosed and both parties are yet to confirm the story.

In a recent post, KiddWaya took to his social media page to send a message to detractors who are trying hard to limit his social media presence.

Apparently, Kiddwaya’s social media pages are experiencing some sort of hiccups and he has now declared that his brand supersedes social media.

His post on his Insta-story reads;

My IG account is on shadow ban.

My Twitter is suspended.

The WDG movement is beyond socal media.
