Nollywood actor and academician Prof. Ayobami Akinwale is dead. He reportedly died on Sunday, September 13, 2020, after a brief illness.
The late actor doubled as a Professor in the Department of Performing Arts at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin.
The late actor directed many movies and played some important roles in some top Nollywood movies.
He was born in Ibadan and attended Methodist High School and, according to a Dawn Commission publication, the University of Ibadan before commencing academic work as a lecturer at The Polytechnic Ibadan.
He was the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture of University of Ilorin.
He was also the chairman of Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture. He was a judge on several cultural festivals across Nigeria.
He began his acting career in the 1970s featuring in television and drama productions. He won the Best Indigenous actor award at the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Big Brother Naija housemate, Kiddwaya has revealed that he is not interested in fellow housemate, Nengi.
Kiddwaya made this revelation while replying BBNaija host, Ebuka who was curious to know about his true feelings about the pretty housemate, Nengi Hampson.
During a session with the housemates in today’s eviction show, Ebuka asked Kiddwaya,
“There has been whispers that there might be a pull or push between you and Nengi, what do you think about her?”
Kidd in response debunked dating speculations between him and Nengi.
In his words,
“I think she is a good girl with a cool personality. We have similar personalities and a lot in common, we like to have fun, we like to gist, we like to party. And I get that people outside will misunderstand what we have together.”
The billionaire son, insisted that he has no sort of physical or sexual attraction to Nengi, adding that they are just friends.

Following Erica’s disqualification from the reality show, Kiddwaya and Nengi have been spotted a couple of times playing together and this gave rise to suspicions that the duo might be interested in each other.

The billionaire son noted that he’s not sure if he is really into Erica and he doesn’t like leading people on.
Responding to Ebuka’s question, he stated that with Erica he feels safe and free, adding that Erica is one person he would not want to lose.
Speaking further, Kidd revealed that Erica is a very nice girl and she’s someone whom he would want to be in his life, but for now, he can’t decide if he should get into a relationship with her or not.
He noted that people tend to get attached to each other when they are kept in a closed environment, but now that he’s out, he will know how he truly feels.

Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon Kidd during his diary session told Biggie that if he survives this Sunday night then he is meant to win the show.
The federal government has concluded plans to ban the sale and consumption of alcohol in sachets and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.
The director-general of the National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed this in a statement released.
According to Adeyeye, uncontrolled access and availability of high concentration alcohol in sachet and small volume PET or glass bottles contribute to substance and alcohol abuse in Nigeria. She said the food agency will no longer register new products in sachet and small volume PET or glass bottles with contents above 30 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
“These concerns relate to negative effects of irresponsible alcohol consumption on public health and on the safety and security of the public, alcohol being a toxic and psychoactive substance with dependence producing properties.
In regard to alcohol, major stakeholders have been engaged at the highest level and are already sensitised to the issue. To this end, several interventions jointly agreed upon by major stakeholders are being undertaken and as a first step, no new products in sachet and small volume PET or glass bottles above 30 per cent ABV will be registered by NAFDAC
Furthermore, to reduce availability and curb abuse, effective January 31 2020, producers of alcohol in sachets and small volume PET and glass bottles are to reduce production by 50 per cent of capacity prior to January 2020. The overall goal is a complete phase out of high concentration alcohol in sachets and small PET and glass bottles in line with the agreed roadmap or earlier.” Adeyeye said
There’s been a bit of frenzy on Twitter after a Nigerian lady took to the social networking platform to reveal that a man sent her 50,000 Naira just because she responded to his chat.
“Well, I love being a woman,” the user, @_Matriach wrote alongside screenshots of her chat with the said man and the bank alert of 50,000 Naira she received from him.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Ozo has revealed that he is disappointed in himself and wished he had behaved better in the house.
When asked about his regrets, Ozo told Biggie that he is disappointed about his actions which led to his two strikes.
In his words,
“I’ve had an experience of a lifetime and I have an open mind.
“I’m disappointed in myself for receiving two strikes. I can’t express my emotions right now but I beat myself up wondering what I’m doing that got me those strikes and how I’ve disappointed myself.”
Recall that, Ozo, recently earned himself a second strike for what though might have been a romantic gesture to his love interest, Nengi.
Biggie issued a second strike to Ozo for infringement of house rules regarding communication over the love notes he wrote to profess his feelings for Nnegi.
While addressing the housemates, Big Brother played a clip where Ozo was seen writing the love notes before he handed it over to Nengi.
Biggie then sounded a note of warning to other housemates against writing secret messages before issuing Ozo his second strike, which means he’s standing on thin ropes because if he gets another strike, he is out of the show via disqualification.
While quite a handful of ladies are irritated with Big Brother Naija: Lockdown housemate, Ozo’s persistent pursuance of his love interest in the house, Nengi even after the latter has consistently downplayed his affections, it appears other ladies desire the kinda love Ozo projects.

Ebuka asked him about what he feels about Nengi, he said he’s in no way attracted to her, that they are just friends with similar personalities.

Recall that her fans started a fundraising campaign for her on a popular crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe, and in less than 3 hours after the launch of the campaign, more than $9,000 had been raised.
They set a target of $100,000 in order for Erica to finance her hopes and aspirations, as she lost all her winnings in the reality show following her disqualification.

Two up-and-coming artistes identified as Sunday Akhigbe aka Santa Pupa Boya and Ajibawo Lawal aka Folarin Law, were found dead on Thursday, Sept. 10,2020 in a studio in Lagos State.
The duo were reported to have performed all night in the studio and were found dead around 7 in the morning. It is said that residents brought out a generator and some hard drugs from the studio, fueling speculations that they might havedied from fumes or effects of hard drugs.
However, a man identified as Adams Darootz Yemmy, in a Facebook post, claimed that Santa Pupa Boya might have been poisoned.
Adams who is a manager to the deceased went further to state that they were five people in the studio as against four that is being reported indicating that three others including the studio manager, Muritala Azeez, are hospitalized.
The Lagos State PPPRO, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and noted that investigations were ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the deaths while friends to the deceased have taken to social media to pay tributes to them.[

Deborah, the last child of Bimbo, graduated from an American University with a doctorate degree at age 27. She is widely appreciated as a relationship counselor and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology, making her one of the youngest Nigerian woman to bag a doctorate degree.
Kate Cunningham, 38, said it was one of the best decisions she has ever made when she married the tree at Rimrose Valley Country Park in Sefton, Merseyside in September last year.
She celebrated her first year of marriage with two friends and some elderflower champers.
She said: “Trees will always come first. They do keep us alive.”
“Despite causing a little bit of embarrassment for my 15-year-old, he sees the bigger picture now and understands what it’s for.
“It’s something which has made me feel a bit more confident about myself. I don’t care about what anyone else says. “Marrying the tree has given me a new purpose.
“I’ve changed my name to Elder. So even that gives me a whole new feeling. It fits in with married life as well, I feel like a changed person.”
The ceremony was attended by dozens and the local musician and poet Davy Edge performed.
It was inspired by female activists in Mexico who held similar ceremonies as a form of protest to raise awareness of illegal logging and land clearing.

Popular On-Air Personality, Daddy Freeze, has taken to his social media page to tender an apology to the founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo for insulting him.
An old video went viral earlier this week, which showed the media personality calling the preacher “a screeching bald-headed fowl”, following the Pastor David Ibiyomie’s saga.
In response to the video, Daddy Freeze has publicly apologized to Bishop Oyedepo. According to him, he shared the video two years and seven months ago while addressing some pertinent issues that arose back then.
He apologized for the way he delivered his message and said he didn’t intend to disrespect or disregard the man of God in any way.
He said,
“My attention has been drawn to a video I released two years, seven months ago while addressing some pertinent issues that arose back then.
“I apologize for the delivery of my message and for any insult to Bishop David Oyedepo in that video as I did not intend in any way to dishonor, disrespect or disregard the person of the bishop. The perceived intentions to the contrary is regretted.”
Daddy Freeze added that his method of addressing religious matters has now evolved over the years.
In his words: “My method of addressing doctrinal issues has since evolved to a more scriptural and less confrontational approach. I was and still am very passionate in my quest to address to address what I believe are doctrinal issues. However, from a more amiable perspective.
I am of the firm belief that for our faith to thrive, we as Christians must have to, as a collective, be open to absorbing new theological and doctrinal reference, as against the faith model subsumed in unchallengeable beliefs. This, I believe can be achieved in love for the furtherance of our faith. So help me God!”
