This tweets came to the forefront when his twitter handler retweeted some of the tweets, which pierced the hearts of his fans.

His tweet reads,

You know this time in 2017, I was preparing to come check up on you again. I was gonna leave very early on the 9th of Dec to come see you. Cause the last time I saw you, you tried to talk to me but you couldn’t get the words out and I tried to make sense of what you wanted to say.

I had hoped you’d be able to tell me what it was you wanted to say when I got home. But 4am my bro called, and I just knew, he obviously didn’t call to check up on me. I refused to pick his call, then he called again and again. I know you know all these cause you were there.

I knew you’d left, there it is. We weren’t close, not really, but I miss you every day, I miss your smile, your jokes, the fact that you try to understand me but I was the one that kept my distance. And I miss your voice, I miss your stories, I miss your laughter.

Yeah I got a record deal, Put out a single, got on MTV base top ten chart, all in 2019. 2018 was rough though. But who am I kidding, u’re overseeing everything innit? Lol. u’re one tricky man, u’ve always been a tricky man. Look here, the past few months have been crazy though.

Then they wrapped you up, but guy you didn’t do shit. Like they put u in the ground nd were dumping dirt on you nd no one person moved to say stop that’s my Pops. I mean all I could do was look on nd in my head I was yelling at you to get up nd tell em to stop pouring dirt on you

I asked you to get up on that day but apparently that’s beyond your power. But look after Mum please, help me to take care of her please. I really need you to come through for me. If you need to go meet God or Allah or whoever is up there to beg, go do it please.

I’m loosing a lot of my energy and I need you to help me with that. Mum is kinda sick too… I’m gonna be very mad at you if anything happens to her. Like this are the things I need from you right now. Like this is the first time I’m asking you for anything since you left.

I feel like we’ll link up soon though. Iono y I feel dat way, bt it creeps in nd goes. Like obviously my days on earth get shorter everyday so our link up day gets closer everydayFace with tears of joy I’m nt suicidal though, Its jst tots. Dis is d longest conversation ive ad wit u in a long while.

Well… Rest In Peace Dad. I know you know how I feel. I’m sorry for the things I didn’t get to say. I really really really really miss you a lot.

Seemed like a crazy ass movie tbh… I know you saw me crying, u did, didn’t you? I mean I stood there crying… thinking I’ll never hear u talk again, knowing I’ll never see your face again. It’s crazy, but why’d u go though? Like I wasn’t even signed yet and u left. Why though

I miss having someone to call my Dad and my Dad alone. No one calls me son anymore. No one calls me Lekan the way you do
See I remember that day, I watched them clean you, dress you, like strangers were in your room and you didn’t even move an inch.

I’m trying to understand it. Lol.. I can’t even come close to rationalizing any of it. I heard your voice though, on your Wife’s phone. She misses you a lot too. We were going through her phone and we found a voice recording of you guys talking. I bet she listens to it everyday.

The most bemusing thing to her was the N50 and N20 which she found in the box, as she only saved N1000 notes.

Victims of sexual abuse should not be blamed for harassment – Osinbajo

Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has decried the blame sexual abuse victims are subjected to.

Speaking at a webinar on Anti-Sexual Harassment themed “Finding Safe Spaces for Female Students in Nigerian Universities” and organized by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, the Vice President stated that victims must always be seen as victims and not to be blamed.

Osinbajo averred that victims of sexual abuse are not the architects of their fate especially by their attitude, dressing or willingness to be in a compromising place with their violators.

A statement released by Laolu Akande, the Vice President’s media aide read;

OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
PRESS RELEASE

WE REJECT NOTION THAT SEXUAL HARASSMENT VICTIMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ABUSE, SAYS OSINBAJO

*Adds: “offenders should be visited with the strictest possible consequences”

The notion that victims or potential victims of sexual harassment are architects of their fate especially by their attitude, dressing or willingness to be in a compromising place with their violators is wrong and should be resisted in every situation. The victim must always be seen as the victim and not to be blamed.

This was the views of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, in his contributions on Wednesday at a webinar on Anti-Sexual Harassment themed “Finding Safe Spaces for Female Students in Nigerian Universities”, organized by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. The event was based on the book authored by notable journalist and former presidential spokesman, Mr Olusegun Adeniyi, titled NAKED ABUSE: SEX FOR GRADES IN AFRICAN UNIVERSITIES.

According to him, “the victim must always be seen as the victim. There cannot be an excuse, especially given the power configuration between students and lecturers, that the victim could have somehow invited the abuse upon themselves. I think it is an important consideration to be made and we must not allow that notion to persist.”

Advocating stricter punishments for rape offenders especially in situations involving lecturers and their female students, Prof. Osinbajo said “there cannot be an excuse especially given the power configuration between students and lecturers that the victim could have somehow invited the abuse upon themselves. I think it is an important consideration to be made and we must not allow that notion to persist.”

Continuing, the Vice President said “there is also the comparison sometimes made between demanding bribes for service and sex for grades. Sometimes people will argue that a bribe is a bribe and there is no reason why the punishment for sex as the currency of the bribe, should be stricter than an ordinary bribe.”

Referring to Adeniyi’s book, Prof. Osinbajo said developing and adhering to a set of ethical codes of conduct for conversations and interactions involving lecturers and students in universities would greatly address the problem.

He said: “to ensure that both faculty and students are sufficiently clear about the issues and rules, there is a need for a code of conduct or ethical guidelines based on best practices in appropriate student/lecturer interactions.

“It is important that these are clearly defined in ethical guidelines that are contained in some documents that people can refer to and see. It is important both for the lecturer and the student that there is some reference to some code of conduct.”

Speaking further on ways of resolving issues around sexual harassment in Nigerian universities, Prof. Osinbajo said the search for answers to creating safe spaces for female students in universities must begin from the question of why is it that such an evidently rampant crime is so under-reported?

According to him, “there are obviously many cases of people who share their anecdotal experiences without necessarily reporting to the authorities. I think the answer is clearly that this low reportability is on account of the fact that many victims do not feel confident that they will get redress, or that they will be treated fairly or that they will not be visited with the same fearful consequences that was the subject of the demand in the first place.

“The fear that they will neither get a sympathetic nor understanding hearing, let alone justice, and that they will end up suffering the same consequences the predator had threatened would occur if they did not submit to their demands. Then there is of course, the shame and stigma that could attend speaking up.”

“I think that in ensuring that we create safe spaces, we must do at least the basics, which is providing the support and resources they need to report abusers. Every institution must make it easy for victims or potential victims to report perpetrators to trusted formal structures or secure channels created specifically for the purpose of resolving such cases,” the Vice President added.

Prof. Osinbajo also recommended the adoption of a mandatory “well-thought-out whistleblower process emphasizing confidentiality, professional legal and medical help for victims or potential victims.”

Dignitaries who also spoke at the webinar besides Adeniyi, the Guest Speaker, included the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; the First Lady of Ekiti State, Mrs Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi; and the Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbode.

Meanwhile, in another development, Prof. Osinbajo has underscored the synergy between the legislature and the executive in supporting policies and programmes of the administration especially those geared towards boosting the nation’s economic base.

The Vice President stated this on Wednesday at a virtual Citizens’ Dialogue on the Green Imperative Project. The Green Imperative Project is a bilateral initiative between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Brazilian government to develop Nigeria’s agricultural production base through a mechanization programme that is spread across the 774 Local Government Areas in the country.

Popular Music Producer turned Blogger, Samuel Oguachuba a.k.a SAMKLEF has made a witty suggestion. He suggested that all 2023 election candidates should stay in a house like Big Brother so the masses can assess their character.

The Ooni of Ife arrived at the event and was walking to his seat when he stopped by to greet Tinubu. Tinubu failed to stand up in respect to greet the traditional ruler.

Some Nigerians have frowned at him as it is expected that he should have accorded the monarch some respect by standing up. Some people blamed the traditional ruler for stopping to greet Tinubu.

Femi Fani-Kayode has publicly criticised the former Governor of Lagos on Twitter for his actions. He stated that it is an insult to every indigene of Ife and descendants of Odua.

His tweet reads,

“That the Asiwaju of Bourdillon refused to stand up to greet the Ooni of Ife speaks volumes. This was not only deeply insulting to every Ife & indeed son & daughter of Odua but it is also a crying shame. Would a northern pol. leader refuse to stand up for his traditional ruler?”

Lady who accused Dr Olufumilayo of rape reportedly remanded in Prison

A Nigerian lady identified as Bola Aseyan who accused UK-based doctor, Dr Olufumilayo of rape, has been remanded in Prison after she escaped to Lagos.

Sometimes around April, the lady called out the medical doctor for allegedly raping her during her visit to his resident in the UK, an allegation the doctor denied and vowed to take legal actions.

He was eventually vindicated after an investigation by the UK Police, and while the accuser was being requested to report to the Police for further inquiries, she eloped to Nigeria.

The case was escalated in Nigeria and she has been reportedly arrested and arraigned by the Police. It was learnt that she has been remanded in a Prison in Lagos today.

A Lagos lawyer @segalink shared the comprehensive report on Twitter.

He wrote,

“There is a trend on Twitter that is ruinous. Idle souls seeking a vicarious adventure through the life of another sit back and play Judge rather than observe. After all, intelligence demands doubting, questioning & not being impressionable or biased when cases arise. #PlotTwist Image

“Evidence & patterns show vividly that everyone is still healing from things they rarely speak about but if keen attention is paid to their actions you can’t but see the projection of personal failings. Let me walk you through a popular allegation that once shook the Twitterspace.

“A certain Bola Aseyan, who barely got out of medical school with tons of misdemeanors & other public disturbance allegations, and recently took a trip to the UK just to record another, in the bid to incriminate a popular Dr Olufunmilayo as evidence clearly shows.

“Twitter was engulfed by her false rape allegation and premeditated attempt to assassinate the character of a young UK based Doctor whose major crime was his naivety & kindness. Audio evidence of a phone conversation between the aggressor & her trusted friend reveals that she deliberately plotted everything from Nigeria with the enumeration of her objectives with a checklist which included but not limited to; the procurement of seductive clothes & the narration of her seductive intent as gathered. It was a gory script too unsettling to repeat.

“Upon achieving her aim to have an intercourse on foreign soil with her target, she probably missed some plots that may fit into her planned incrimination & she did all that she could to try again, leading to another consensual sexual episode which she’s failed to mention.

“Again, these sexual episodes were missing vital ingredients for her plot and she got desperate. Records show her conversation with her trusted ally on the entire incidents especially how she actively/desperately seduced Dr Olufunmilayo to the point where he had to run for safety.

“In her account to this ally, who voluntarily presented his statement to the investigation in Lagos, she deemed Dr Olufunmilayo uncooperative and possible gay for avoiding her entreaties & seductive approaches. Another witness physically present in such occasion corroborated this.

“I want to believe it was at this point that she felt frustrated and decided to weaponize all that transpired as premeditated. She deployed any and every trivial matter to suit the narrative of her plot and proceeded on a diabolical journey to ruin the career & life of her target.

“As backed by a few drama queens on Twitter, she went to the UK Police & GMC to lodge a complaint painting a grotesque picture of violent sexual assault. Unfortunately for her & those rooting for her, UK Police are not as gullible. They investigated & cleared Dr Olufunmilayo.

“She had expected that the Police would make an arrest based on her falsehood & that they GMC will seize the license of Dr Olufunmilayo but none of her evil intentions came to pass. The GMC carried out their investigation in collaboration with the police & sat twice.

“Like any ethical professional organization, they had to do something. When they received the police report on the matter that there is no criminal offense on the allegation brought forward as they have discontinued the chronomicide (bloody waste of time)…

“The GMC also felt this has nothing to do with professional misconduct but decides to still follow up on the allegation till the lady retraces her steps. But as the investigation later found, Dr Funmi filed a suit against her and she sneaked out of the UK to Nigeria.

“Suffice to say that she evaded justice in the Uk & crept out like a fugitive. Court papers, UK police emails and all evidences to back up the above are before @SIAF_NG. Upon, the alert that she eloped from the UK, reports were filed in Lagos with the Police.

“All attempts of the @PoliceNG to invite her over was rebuffed as she kept giving excuses even after official invitation were extended to her. She eventually showed up with her lawyer at the Bar Beach Police Station where all the evidences were presented to her.

“To any sane individual, this would have been a turning point where all demonic acts could have been tamed for peace to resign but she called the bluff of the police authorities and insulted them even against the advice of her counsel. The Police had no choice than to escalate.

“The case was bumped to State Criminal Investigation in Panti, and she continued to twist the system and play in the intelligence of the Police until they had to detain her for her unruly behavior despite the glaring evidences. She was later granted bail & given directives…

“None of the conditions given to her at Panti were met. She kept on throwing tantrums and making attempts to incriminate the investigation officers amidst attempts to twist the system with a few corrupt souls within. She stopped reporting at Panti after lying against the IPO…

“She accused the IPO of damaging her phone as an excuse to stall the investigation. She absconded and deployed a rogue team at Zone 2 to obstruct justice in the attempt to move the investigation there. Unfortunately for her the AIG at Zone 2 is just & Professional.

“This was an AIG that was formerly a CP at Ogun State I own for his attention to details. @SIAF_NG has huge records of several successful investigations void of human rights abuses including murder cases solved by this individual. But I digress…

“The plot to obstruct justice failed and a radio signal was sent for Panti to continue the investigation which was due to be charged to court last Friday but for her deliberate absence having been assured that the investigation will be disrupted based on her false petition…

“When she realize she has failed on all grounds and may likely be declared wanted publicly. She made herself available yesterday night and was apprehended and charged to court this morning. She has since been remanded in the Prison custody of Panti until bail conditions are met.

“She will undergo COVID19 test before being taken to prison if she fails to meet her bail conditions. This however is just the State Vs Bola Aseyan in a criminal investigation and I believe a civil suit may follow concurrently given that she is a flight risk & criminal minded.

“One thing is certain though in all this. It will be difficult for anyone to jump in front of any allegation forthwith without due diligence. I pray this doesn’t discourage others with genuine claims. We need to protect our men as much as we do the vulnerable women out there.

“Let Justice take its course. As far as she’s concerned now she is trying hard to create an impression that Twitter is boring to justify her disappearance. Know that she has been canned. She is being processed now to be remanded in prison. Learn from this. #JailedAsOught.
