A man identified as Adamu Hassan, has been arrested for stabbing his wife to death in Gangawa, Jigawa state.
Mr. Hassan, 45, allegedly stabbed his 25-year-old wife, Hauwa, to death for an undisclosed reason at about 11a.m on July 3, 2020, and absconded.
The police later tracked Adamu and arrested him. The suspect and the deceased had two children and were married for eight years.
A man on micro-blogging website, twitter with the handle @KingAtoki has inspired social media users after showing off his newly acquired crib.
According to his post on Twitter, 4 years ago he used to sleep in his car and would shower in a nearby gym.
He shared a photo of himself posing in front of his crib and wrote ;

I would wake up at 7 AM and go to class until about 3 PM. I would take a 2 hour nap and go to work at 5pm and work a 12 hour shift until 5 am. Took another 2 hour nap and back to school again. It was hard but I just sucked it up ??♂️
One day my manager at my job says he has to cut a few people’s hours and since I’m in school, he picked me to be on of those. I figured it was fine. I could still pay mom rent and I would be able to sleep in so yay right?
Nope. I think it might’ve been two weeks later. They start letting people go and I was one of the people that had to be let go because “I didn’t work enough hours”. I’m like ??????? But you guys cut my hours. Doesn’t matter. Jobless.
Here I am 18 years old. Only job I had was filling trucks and I’m still going to school because that’s what I was taught you have to do to make it. The problem is with no income and no parental help I lost even more.
Had to drop out of school because I couldn’t afford it anymore since I wasn’t working. (Yes I applied for literally hundreds of scholarships and got 1, but still couldn’t afford it). And I had a falling out with mom so I got kicked out.
On top of that my car gave out. It was a $1000 95 ford thunderbird and I got kicked out in November in the cold. Tried to crash on my grandmas couch. Didn’t last. Tried to stay and my girlfriends dorm. Nope her dad didn’t like that. Understandable.
So I had to stay in my car. I remember the day. I parked in front of Walmart. Freezing cold. Less than a dollar in my account. I think it was like $0.83 or something. No family. No friends. No money. Hungry. Felt like giving up. Cried. Tried to sleep.
I didn’t sleep. I was thinking about how much I hated everything. My mom, my dad, my father. My family. My job. College. My rusty car. People. But most of all myself. I told myself that my situation was an accumulation of why my life didn’t matter.
After days of contimplating ending my life I took a look in the rearview mirror and realized the only person I could truly count on was myself. Idk what it was. It was like almost looking at myself outside of myself? And it’s like I had something to fight for
I really don’t know how to explain it but I told myself that I would fight for myself as long as I live. Maybe someone can explain it better but either way I felt like I was born again. Like a different person. I was going to grab life by the horns
After that I went to the library and applied for EVERYTHING. I mean anything. Warehouse, factory, meat packer, wedding DJ assistant, solar panel canvaser (twice), insurance agent, etc,and finally mattress sales man for a company where I had to go meet clients
My car got repoed but I saved enough doing these odd jobs that I was able to put a payment down and get another car. I did this job for a while until driving 400 miles a day started to wear on me. Eventually I applied to Mattress Firm and got the job.
I thought I was doing well for myself making 30k year. I couldn’t afford an apartment yet so I would shower at the gym next to the store and show up to work. On the days when I was the only one working the showroom I would sleep on the beds instead of my car.
Eventually I almost got caught because I overslept and one coworker decided to come in especially early so I decided I had to look for a place. Just like with the job I looked for anywhere. And I found a decent room for 550 a month ?
I was doing this for a while but I wasn’t happy. I didn’t want to do this for the rest of my life, but I also couldn’t go back to school. I looked up some online schools and after a while I saw @LambdaSchool come up. It checked all the boxes
Online ✅ no money down ✅ structure ✅ don’t pay back until you’re making a decent amount or you pay nothing ✅. I thought this was perfect. The only thing is back then they only had full time. But once again I worked full time so I thought I couldn’t do it
I wanted to go so bad so I emailed the CEO @Austen. I didn’t think he would respond but he did. I never had the CEO talk to me about anything. I didn’t even know who the CEO of Mattress Firm was (still don’t) but talking to him pushed me to do it.
It wasn’t much,but if we didn’t talk I guarantee I wouldn’t be where I am now today. So I didn’t have internet at my apartment or work so I used my hotspot on my phone to attend the classes while I was working. It sucked but once again I’m doing this for me.
I kept at it through a few challenges but things were pretty smooth, plus my son came into this world. Another reason to fight and push myself. I wasn’t the best father when he was first born but I’ve corrected my mistakes and pushed on.
I’ll wrap this up because it’s getting quite long. After LS I went back as a teaching assistant. I wanted to help students achieve the same goals I did and get the same guidance that I wanted. I gave my all to each one of them and they know. All 100s of them
Eventually I applied to tech jobs and got my first one in Philly. I LOVED what I did. And I doubled what I made the previous year. I kept grinding and kept learning and I moved on to another job where I was making more on top of that. And didn’t stop there
So that’s most of my story. I’m ina financial position greater than I ever thought possible.I’ll end and say no matter where you are.Find that motivation to push you to do better. It doesn’t happen overnight. I’m nobody special. I just took control of my life

A 28-year old man is being hailed as a hero after he helped saved a baby thrown from a third-floor apartment that was on fire over the weekend.
Phillip Blanks, a former college wide receiver and retired U.S. Marine, was filmed in a heart-stopping video diving to catch the 3-year-old boy as he was dropped from the balcony of the burning third-floor apartment in Phoenix, Arizona, Friday, July 3, 2020.
Blanks said he was going for a workout with a friend who lived next door to the apartment when he heard the screaming and quickly rushed to the building to catch a young child he says was “twirling like a helicopter” as he fell through the air.
“People were screaming, ‘There are kids up there’ and to throw the kids down. I saw another guy was standing there ready to catch the boy, but he didn’t look like he was going to do it, so I stepped in front of him.”
The former college wide receiver caught the boy and brought him to safety, the news outlet reported. The toddler and his 8-year-old sister suffered critical injuries but their 30-year-old mother died in the blaze, authorities told the Arizona Republic.

The police in Lagos State will soon begin the arrest of any resident of the state caught not using a face mask in public.
The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, who disclosed this in an interview with The Nation, said the command has arrested 3,802 persons between April and June for not wearing face masks, adding that all the suspects were charged to court and sentenced accordingly.
His words ;
“We have been enforcing the law. We have arrested 3,802 people for not using face masks and 12,900 suspects were held for flouting various COVID-19 guidelines since the commencement of the lockdown in April. They were all charged to court. But we are going to be stricter now because we have noticed that some people do not wear at all while others hang it on their chins. That is not the purpose for the directive.
The face mask must be properly worn to cover the mouth and nose. That is how it will serve its purpose. Our people must know that the policy is for their safety and that of society. As soon as you step out of your house into public space, you should have your face mask on, worn properly. It should be that way until you return to your private space. Wearing a face mask is compulsory just as social distancing is compulsory. You cannot do one and leave the other. For emphasis, we will arrest those who put the face mask on their chins and also arrest those not wearing it.”
Some rather weird photos that’s begun trending on the web, show a newborn baby holding his mum’s contraceptive coil which failed to stop her falling pregnant with him.
The newborn baby boy is seen clasping his mother’s yellow and black intrauterine device in his hand at Hai Phong International Hospital in the city of Hai Phong in northern Vietnam.
Obstetrician Tran Viet Phuong said the device had come out when the baby was born. The infant had it held firmly in his hands when the picture was taken, it is claimed.
Dr Phuong told local media,
“After delivery, I thought him holding the device was interesting, so I took a picture.
“I never thought it would receive so much attention.”
The baby’s 34-year-old mother claims she had the coil inserted two years earlier but it did not work because she later discovered she was pregnant.
Dr Phuong said the device may have been moved from its original position, becoming an ineffective form of contraception and allowing the mother to become pregnant.

A video that’s been trending on the internet captures the moment a Nigerian boy identified simply as “Chidera”, scattered his parents’ apartment because he wasn’t given what he requested for.
The mother of the boy who gave her own side of the story in the video, revealed that he demanded for some documents including her passport which he claimed he needed for a university program. However, one of the eyewitnesses stated that he doesn’t need any of the documents he demanded for.
The boy’s mother also added that when she ignored him, he forcefully took her documents which she retrieved. He subsequently began breaking things in the house and also pouring food items on the floor.
When asked why he scattered his parents home by one of those who turned up at the scene of the incident, the boy replied by saying “he will get his mother’s attention by scattering the house”.

The Ministry of Works and Housing, says the announced repairs on the third mainland bridge are necessary so as to avert a collapse of the bridge.
According to the Ministry, there is no going back in the proposed plan to shut the third mainland bridge for a period of six months beginning from July 24.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, July 8, the Controller of Works, Federal Ministry of Works, Mr. Olukayode Popoola, said the bridge was last rehabilitated in 2012 and that it is important repairs are carried out now to avert a collapse of the ever-busy bridge.
His words ;
“We don’t want the bridge to collapse. We want to replace worn out components and joints. The bridge will be partially closed and there will be diversion of traffic from midnight to 1pm every morning for movement from Oworonsoki to Lagos Island only on the Lagos Island bound lane while from 1pm to midnight, it will be Lagos Island to Oworonsoki traffic only on the Lagos Island bound lane.
This will be in place for three months for the repairs of the Oworonsoki bound lane.”
“Motorists are advised to also ply the alternative routes of Carter Bridge through Iddo to Oyingbo to join Adekunle ramp inward Oworonsoki, or from Ijora through Western Avenue to Ikorodu Road.”
In total, the repairs on the bridge is expected to run for six months.

Record-breaking Jamaican athlete, Usain Bolt has shown the world his newborn daughter’s face for the first time as he also revealed her name.
The sprinter, 33, welcomed his daughter in May with his girlfriend, Kasi Bennett revealed earlier today that his daughter’s name is Olympia Lightning Bolt.
He shared photos of his daughter as he celebrated his girlfriend Kasi on her 21st birthday. He captioned the photos,

In what an Italian hospital says was a first-of-its-kind operation, two-year-old conjoined twins from birth have successfully been separated.
The twins – Ervina and Prefina – had been joined above the nape of their necks – they were born with a condition the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù in Rome described on Tuesday as “one of the rarest and most complex forms of cranial and cerebral fusion,” Agence France-Presse reported.
However, surgeons succeeded in separating the girls and they are doing well. The hospital — whose name translates to Baby Jesus Pediatric Hospital — said it was the first time in Italy and likely the world that surgeons were able to separate twins who shared the back of their skull and its venous system.
The two sisters were brought to Italy in September 2018 from Bangui, Central African Republic, after the hospital’s president met the babies and their mom where they were born, according to AFP.
Medical tests showed the girls to be generally in good health, but one sister’s heart was working harder to maintain the “physiological balance of the organs of both, including the brain,” the outlet reported.
The twins had “distinct” personalities, with Prefina being vivacious and playful while Ervina was more serious and quietly observing, according to the hospital.
The greatest challenge facing doctors was the shared network of blood vessels bringing blood from the girls’ brains to their hearts, the hospital said.
That required “three very delicate operations to progressively reconstruct two independent venous systems,” it added.
On June 5, the twins underwent the final operation, which took 18 hours and included 30 doctors and nurses who worked to divide the bones of the shared skull.
The surgeons then reconstructed the membrane covering the two brains and recreated the skin lining over the girls’ new skulls.
“A month after the final separation, the twins are fine,” said the hospital, which shared a video of a party it threw on June 29 for their second birthday.
In the video, the girls are seen with their heads wrapped in protective bandages as their beaming mum carried them.
The hospital said the girls would have to wear protective helmets for a few months due to the ongoing risk of infection, but their brains were found to be “intact” and they will have the opportunity to “lead a normal life, like all girls of their age.”

According to Ayo, he doesn’t care if coming out will tarnish his image or lead to his arrest.
He added that members of the LGBTQ community have every right to live freely because they pay taxes and contribute to society.

A Canada-based Nigerian lady is currently being hailed on social media after she announced a major milestone she achieved last month.
According to the lady identified as Tobi Adekeye, she graduated last month with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering – Structures, Systems and Vehicle Design.
Sharing the photos, Tobi wrote ;

A social media user has sympathized with Alleged Fraudster, Hushpuppi, over his arrest, trial and the likelihood that he’d be sentenced to 20 years in Jail.
According to the @kingsukkynas, the alleged fraudster is a good man and he can never go broke even when he comes out because he has properties.
His comment reads ;

Hushpuppi has been dominating the media since his infamous arrested by the Dubai Police and just recently, an old video of him giving a hint of what he does with his money resurfaced online.
The video which was filmed months before he was arrested by the Interpol in Dubai captured Hushpuppi at a dining table with some friends as he spoke about his philanthropic nature.
Ramon Igbalode who appeared to have been speaking about the issue of tithes noted that he does a lot of good that people on social media do not necessarily have to know about.
Speaking on how he helps people, the alleged fraudster claimed he usually goes online to search for charity organizations around the world to make donations. Hushpuppi noted that he doesn’t donate to Nigerian foundations alone because some of them do not make use of the funds as expected.
The self-proclaimed billionaire gucci master had also said the donations are usually made anonymously as he does not want anyone to know about it. Hushpuppi said it should be a secret between him and God. The alleged fraudster added that he goes to bed at night peacefully knowing that he has offered help to those in need.
