The Nigeria police has denied arresting and detaining Seyitan Babatayo, the lady who accused Nigerian music mogul, D’Banj of raping her at an hotel room in 2018.
On June 18 of this year, it was reported that Seyitan was arrested and detained by Police operatives at Ikeja in Lagos for 24 hours. She was allegedly also denied access to her legal team.
Refuting the claims, a police source who spoke with Vanguard, stated that Seyitan was only invited to give her written statement and be interrogated. Adding that, there may have been a mix up by her legal representative.
The source revealed that both the singer and accuser were invited to the Force Criminal Investigations Department, Abuja, to give written statements and for interrogation.
But on three separate occasions, Seyitan didn’t show up, which prompted the Force CID to dispatch officers to Lagos to invite her for her written statement and interrogation on the alleged rape.
The drama continued on the recent airing of the Big Brother Naija reunion and this time, it was between on and off lovers, Esther and Frodd.
Recall during their time in the house, the pair had a frantic and somewhat undefined relationship, although it was quite obvious that Frodd had a soft spot for Esther.

After the end of the show, it was widely speculated that they would go on to become a ‘thing’, however, that did not happen.
Show host, Ebuka, in his usual manner, decided to inquire the reason their love didn’t get to the permanent site and Esther said that Frodd seemingly did properly ask her to be his girlfriend.
However, Frodd refuted Esther’s claim and said he’d done exactly that on the 36th floor in Dubai, that they were supposed to have a dinner and Esther came out looking so simple.

The Federal Government has announced the resumption of domestic flights in the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 1, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said the Abuja and Lagos airports will resume domestic operations on July 8, while the Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri, and Maiduguri airports would resume on the 11th. Other airports are also expected to resume operations on the 15th.
Sirika, however, noted that a date for the international airports will be announced in due course.
The Nigerian airspace has been closed since March this year following the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The statement in part reads
“The flights will commence with the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
The Port Harcourt , Owerri and Maiduguri airports will reopen to flights on the 11th of July, while other airports across the country will join on the 15th of July.
Passengers looking to travel out of the country will have to wait a bit longer as the dates for the restart of international flights into and out of the country will be announced later.
Passengers are highly advised to follow all the safety guidelines and protocols put in place to ensure that the airports don’t become channels of infection for the dreaded coronavirus.”

BBNaija ex-housemate, Khafi Kareem, is still mourning the tragic loss of her brother and she has asked anyone who has information on who perpetrated the act to kindly help her family and come forward.
The police are still investigating the murder but no suspect has been pinned despite the publicity that trailed the event.

A 27-year-old self-confessed robber and serial rapist, identified as one Adeniyi Ajayi, on Tuesday revealed that he raped women and maids in the presence of their husbands and bosses, as punishment for refusing to give him money, during his operations.
According to a report by Vanguardngr, rather than showing remorse for his action, Ajayi, who is an ex-convict, begged the Police to kill him, instead of sending him back to prison. The suspect, who runs a one-man squad, was apprehended in a hotel at Ijora 7-up area of Lagos.
His modus operandi was to break into victims’ homes, ordering them to cooperate with him or risk being killed by other members of his gang whom he claimed had surrounded the building.
When news of his arrest filtered round Sabo and its environ, eight victims, some of who were civil servants and lawyers, stormed SARS office to affirm that he raped them during operation.
Among them were also two female staff of a company in Sabo, who disclosed that he raped them right before their male colleagues, in broad daylight on June 16, 2020.
During interrogation, he admitted culpability. He said,
“Yes, I rape women whose husbands refused to give me money, and those tried to make things difficult for me during operation.
I operated alone, with just torchlight. But I would be giving orders to my imaginary gang members, on where to position themselves, just to give the impression that I was not alone.
The solution to this act is for the Police to waste my life because if they take me to prison, I will come back hardened and I don’t want to keep disturbing Nigerians. It is better they waste my life. They should just kill me to end it all.”

A Nigerian man, one Dotun Ajayi, has lauded a soldier who helped him when he was stranded in the rain in Ibadan, Oyo state on Tuesday, June 30.
Dotun revealed that the soldier identified as Corporal Etuk Emmanuel, helped him when he really needed help. He said soldiers like Etuk are rewriting the stories about the Nigerian Army.

Popular Nigerian rapper, Olamide took to his Instagram page moments ago to share lovely photos of his second son, Tunre as the toddler is a year older today.
Olamide welcomed his second child with partner, Adebukumi Aisha Suleiman in the United States of America, this time last year.

A Nigerian man, Desmond Ehimuah, has been accused of domestic violence after he allegedly beat his 8-months pregnant wife, Tito Oluwatoyin Ehimuah, to a pulp and left her for dead at their residence in Magodo Phase 2, Lagos State.
According to a reports, Oluwatoyin had previously left her home about a month ago due to the incessant beatings from her husband. She however returned on Monday, June 29, because she was sick and also needed to settle things with him, but he was not at home.
The reports read;
“He got back home Tuesday morning and when she asked where he was coming from, she said the next thing she felt was a blow on her eyes and she fell and he started beating her and kicking her tummy till she started bleeding and fainted.

Nollywood actress and New mother, Regina Daniels, who welcomed her first son with Ned Nwoko on Monday, June 29, has revealed how her husband made her discover she was pregnant.

According to Regina, she became aware that she might be pregnant when her husband said he could “perceive a pregnant woman”.
She made disclosure in a snippet of a documentary about her pregnancy.
Regina added that she was “confused” at first, soon after a pregnancy test revealed she was carrying a child.
“The first time I found out I was pregnant, I was confused. I just couldn’t explain the feeling.
“Though at first, my husband was already saying, oh he can perceive a pregnant woman and I was like, ha, perceive kwa?”

Nigerians have upbraided Nollywood Actress, Anita Joseph, after she took to her Instagram page to rebuke Ghanian actress, Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo for snapping an unclad photo with her 7 years old son.

A man identified as Elijah Ayodeji Ojo, has been arrested for parading himself as a lawyer in Ogun State.
Mr. Ojo, who dropped out of the Ekiti State University and has overtime allegedly swindled countless people with his fictitious claim as a member of the bar, met his waterloo, following a petition.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said:
“In the process of investigating the fake lawyer, police came across a woman whom he duped of N30,000 in the past.
The woman once had a case that led to her arraignment in court and that the suspect stood as her counsel, to effect her bail from the court. After collecting the money, he never showed up again in court.
On interrogation, Elijah confessed that he actually gained admission to study law at the Ekiti State University, but one thing led to another and could not complete the program and so, was never attended law school.”
