A Nigerian lady’s marriage that’s still at an infant stage is not at its best moment currently following her husband’s attitude towards her family.
The whole ache seems to have started when her family, who gave her husband a marriage list worth N580k when they were to wed, are now demanding he contributes N120k for his brother-in-law’s marriage.
In the story shared by Twitter user, @SmartAtuadi, the confused lady recounts how her husband who earns N70k monthly incurred about N580k expenses based on the list given to him during their wedding.
She revealed that the heavy amount her husband spent at the time sort of made him vow never to help her family members financially, insisting his in-laws have collected all their entitlements from him.
Their marriage has become worrisome now as the man’s brother-in-law is about to wed and was a given a N400k marriage list from his bride — the father-in-law then shared his son’s marriage costs and demanded his son-in-law who earns N70k to contribute N120k to support his wedding.
Enraged by his father-in-law’s demand, the lady’s husband reminded her of the oath he made to never help his in-laws after they made him spend N580k for the marriage list they gave him when he wanted to marry their daughter.
Furious over her husband’s decision, the lady then dubbed him “irresponsible”.
Nollywood actress, Victoria Inyama, has countered the stance of her colleague, Anita Joseph, who few days ago faulted the statement made by some married women that their husbands raped them when they weren’t in the mood for sex.
Inyama
Anita had in a video made with her husband, argued that a woman cannot claim her husband raped her if he had sex with her when she wasn’t in the mood. The actress opined that the body of a woman is the food of her husband and should be made available whenever he needs to feed from it.
Just like other actresses did, reacting to Anita’s video, Victoria Inyama said there indeed is a thing called Marital rape and that many married women have experienced and are still experiencing it.
Inyama said even in marriage, sex should be with consent. She argued that forcefully having sex with a spouse is another act of domestic violence.
She said she has experienced marital rape and that it leaves so many women damaged.
“Can a husband rape? Yes a husband can rape his spouse. It depends. Let me define it. Marital rape or spousal rape is the act of sexual intercourse with ones spouse without the spouse’s consent. The lack of consent is essential here because it does not need to involve physical violence. Marital rape is a form of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Husbands can rape wife. I do not know about wife raping a husband. The most important thing is consent is needed. A lot of women constantly raped in their marriage. They are so ashamed to even talk about it. I have experienced it and I am learning about it. The trauma and the damage it causes is beyond your understanding” she said
A 65-year-old grandmother with the name, Mbah Gambreng and her adopted son, Ardi Waras reportedly tied the knot in South Sumatra, Indonesia and photos from the ceremony has been circulating on the internet.
According to reports, Gambreng adopted her son, now her husband Ardi, last year and they’ve been living together since then, although she claims she had no intention of marrying him at that time. She said he took her by surprise by proposing to her.
The couple got married in the presence of the grandmother’s three adopted daughters. She is quoted to have said – “To my surprise, he said he wanted to marry me.”
Ardi allegedly paid his wife-to-be a dowry of 100,000 IDR (£6) before their wedding ceremony as required in typical Islamic weddings in Indonesia, where the groom or groom’s father often gifts money or possessions to the bride as a dowry.
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who has been married three times, has given his secret to keeping a lady.
The Politician —a father of nine— who is currently married to Precious Chikwendu, shared a photo of his wife as he explained how to keep a lady.
He wrote,
HOW TO KEEP A LADY
Ladies are like race horses: they must be mastered, tamed, trained, exercised and regularly serviced. They are like race cars: their engine must be revved at least twice a day.
They are like precious jewels and rare gems: they must be cherished, shielded, guarded, protected and defended.
They are like little children: they must be given attention, pampered, encouraged, loved, made to feel on top of the world and given everything that they need and want.
They are like magnificent works of art: they must be appreciated and valued.
If you want to keep a lady, live for her alone, worship the ground she walks on, treat her like a Queen, tolerate and accept her idiosyncrasies, weaknesses and excesses and love her for who and what she is, warts and all!
And one more thing: once in a while write her a romantic poem, serve her breakfast in bed, give her flowers, buy her the most expensive and exotic perfumes, take her shopping and in the evening cook a candle-lit dinner for her.
Do all this and she will stand with you through thick and thin. That’s my secret and that’s the key!
A Nigerian lady has recounted how she was on the verge of losing her virginity to a man who would later dump her to marry his childhood friend.
Enyi Nnenna Agatha Omade on Facebook shared on her page how it happened when she was 20-years-old and had just gotten admitted into Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).
Omade disclosed that the man travelled from Port Harcourt to Enugu for their first night together. She said he never protested after she told him they can’t go on with the plan following a Christian meeting they attended together.
She however said the man called a few weeks later to tell her that he was getting married to a childhood friend.
Omade wrote,
I think I remember this day, let me share the gist..
I was 20 and just got admitted into the university (ESUT) and i was dating this guy even before I got admission. He is on my friend list and will definitely see this and will know he is the one if he is really intelligent. Na married man with children now sha..
Ok, let’s continue.. So we were dating back then. We have met a couple of times. He stays in Port Harcourt while I stay in my Ugbo-Odogwu family villa..
We planned a glorious and wonderful meeting, a birthday package sort of.. When i mean glorious, I mean glorious in sin meeting (I planned to loose my v***y to him). We made our plans. It was the first time I ever agreed to follow a man to an hotel. Back then who born you to invite me to an hotel, I will abuse you till thy kingdom come just for ordinary invite..
I wouldn’t know which best describes the scenario that played out, if it was a fortunate abi unfortunate incident.. By then I had joined Chari in school (just within 3 days interval of our discussions abi evil plans).. God bless Light Bearers Community ESUT.
I was a “new convert” so to say and was undergoing the compulsory life in the spirit seminar every Charismatic must pass through.. I spoke to our foundation class coordinator then Mummy Nnenna Osita Ezugwu (God bless you for me) about the plans I had with the said guy and that I don’t know how to call off what I had already planned.. She said I shouldn’t worry, that I should invite the guy over since we will be having “deliverance” aspect of the Life in the Spirit seminar.. That if it is the wish of God for uncle to marry me, after the program, uncle will not hesitate to do so without robbing me of my V***y since uncle said he wanted to marry me..
I didn’t tell guy man that plans have changed. Uncle travelled all the way from Port Harcourt (according to him sha). I asked him to come into the school and pick me up (unto say I be beans na). Uncle rode on Okada straight down to school with his bag of clothes. When he arrived, I told him we were still praying and he should join us, that after the prayer we will proceed to the hotel.. Uncle agreed and joined in the prayers inside the school auditorium.. Trust Mummy Regia’s ministrations na..
After the prayers, I told uncle that as he can see that both of us are spirit filled and can’t indulge in evil acts. Surprisingly uncle concurred, he agreed and started going back to Port Harcourt. He gave me two apples sha as a parting gift. You can imagine..
Uncle didn’t call me again neither did i call him until few weeks later, I got a call from uncle.. Guess what? Uncle broke the good news to me, this was our conversation
Uncle: babe, I have made up my mind to get married
Me: (filled with excitement) when are you coming to see my parents.
He started giving excuses about my being in year one and how I can’t combine marriage and school.. You can imagine, are you me? Is me you? You is me? How could he have concluded for me on managing school and marriage.. Lastly he now said “I have decided to get married to my childhood friend” blood of Jesus Christ!!!!
I was dumbfounded.. You needed to see me screaming that day.. Immediately he dropped that last sentence, I ended the call and started singing praises to God not minding I was in the public (Nomeks female hostel tap)..
After the whole incidence I started analyzing what had happened,
Had it been I allowed our plans pull through, uncle would have come back to tell me this trash he just vomited..
I later went to Thanksgiving on Sunday that same week to thank God for delivering me from onye uchu ogbugba..
I still talk to the guy sha but I already have a bad image of him stored up in my head.. He was a lion in sheep clothing.. A deceiver, he wanted to take advantage of a young and naïve year one student but God pass am..
Thanks to Mummy Nnenna, thanks to Light Bearers Community ESUT Agbani campus, I love you all..
Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has disclosed that work is being done on using plasma from the blood of recovered Coronavirus patients to treat people infected with the virus.
The minister shared this at a news conference to commemorate the World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) — Ehanire said the plasma of patients who recovered from COVID-19 is called convalescent plasma, and further urged Nigerians to donate blood to save the lives of those in need.
The Minister is quoted as saying,
“It is believed that persons who suffered COVID-19 and have recovered will have antibodies inside their plasma, which can be used to treat others.
“It can be used to treat others who are not able to build antibody fast enough or those who are suffering from a severe form of the virus.
“Yes, our research centres are participating in looking at what advantages and benefits can come out of convalescent plasma.
“I have seen this particular research in Lagos; it is part of what will be studied and the result will be published so research is going on it.
On myths surrounding the donation of blood, he said;
“Myths are part of ignorance that education should fight and stakeholders are supposed to enlighten people on this issue, that your blood is something that can save somebody life.
“The blood is regenerated in your system; your body is stimulated to replace that blood donated so that blood that you donated, very soon, it is filled by your system.
“It is filled in such a way that a man can donate four times in a year while women can donate up to three times a year, provided they are tested fit.
“They can donate provided they are free of any sickness and provided they will not suffer any disadvantage from donating the blood.
“Donating blood provides availability of safe blood at hospitals and where they are needed.
“Nobody knows who will be in need of blood at any time so we have been embarking on media campaign and awareness creation to increase the number of voluntary donors in the country.”
The study of use of plasma to treat Coronavirus patients is coming after Chinese medical experts suggested that severely ill COVID-19 patients could benefit from infusions of blood plasma collected from people who have recovered.
19-year-old Black Lives Matter protester Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau has reportedly been found dead a little over a week after she went missing in Tallahassee, Florida.
The City of Tallahassee Police Department reported Sunday morning (Jun. 14) that two bodies were found just after 9:15 p.m. Saturday night (Jun. 13) while police were investigating a missing persons case.
Though officials have not released the names of the deceased, friends and family of Salau have confirmed via social media that one of the bodies found by police was hers.
I’m sorry to inform everyone about this but Toyin is no longer with us https://t.co/HK85TgGFhV
Salau was last seen on June 6th, the day she wrote a series of disturbing messages on Twitter.
Just hours before she disappeared, Salau tweeted that a man had molested her that morning.
“Anyways I was molested in Tallahassee, Florida by a black man this morning at 5:30 on Richview and Park Ave,” she wrote.
The man offered to give me a ride to find someplace to sleep and recollect my belongings from a church I refuged to a couple days back to escape unjust living conditions.”
She continued: “He came disguised as a man of God and ended up picking me up from nearby Saxon Street. I entered his truck only because I carry anything to defend myself not even a phone (which is currently at the church) and I have poor vision. I trusted the holy spirit to keep me safe.
“When we arrived at his house he offered me a shower and I thanked him and shower and he gave me a change of clothes. He exposed himself to me by peeing with the bathroom open obviously knowing I was out of it.
“I told him about a sexual assault situation that happened to me in March involving Ivan a 32 year old Ghanaian man who currently schools at FAMU and lives at 211 Jakes and Patterson (I am currently 19 years old) who tried to force me to give him oral sex and then continued to [harass] me thru text and knocking at my door for days.”
She went on: “Going back to the situation that happened to me this morning, I did not fall asleep. He then asked me if I wanted a massage at this moment his roommate who was in the house was asleep. I was laying on my stomach trying to calm myself down from severe ptsd.
“He started touching my back and rubbing my body using my body until he climaxed and then went to sleep. Before I realized what happened to me I looked over and his clothes were completely off. Once I saw he was asleep I escaped from the house and started walking from Richview Road to anywhere else.
“All of my belongings my phone my clothes shoes are all assumably at the church where I’ve been trying to track since I sought spiritual guidance/refuge. I will not be silent. Literally wearing this man’s clothes right now DNA all over me because I couldn’t locate his house the moment I called the police because I couldn’t see.”
Possibly describing her alleged attacker, she added in a separate follow-up tweet: “Mid 40’s lives in a gray painted duplex apartment style house drives a white clean Silverado Chevrolet truck.”

A number of people replied to her Twitter thread offering help and asking whether she was OK. But she never responded and those tweets would end up being among the last messages she posted before she went missing and was later found dead.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said as much as he hates the death penalty, no punishment meted on a rapist is too severe.
In a video aired on Dove TV on Sunday, June 14, the clergyman condemned the act as he says it leaves an eternal scar on women.
Speaking specifically about UNIBEN student, Uwaila Omozuwa, who was raped and murdered in one of the RCCG parishes in Edo state, the senior pastor said he and his prayer warriors will not stop until the perpetrators of the dastard act are fished out and brought to justice.
In his words,
I just want to put on record my humble opinion about the crime of rape. In my own opinion, there is hardly any crime more grievious than that of rape.
Maybe with the possible exception of murder because when you rape a girl, you put a scar on her. Not only physically, but mentally. A scar that cannot be removed for the rest of her life.
I am telling you, there is no pain that I know of that can compare to the pain of parents whose daughter has been raped.
The girl that was raped and killed in Benin happens to be one of my daughters. And I am telling you, I feel the pain seriously.
I want to put this on record that both myself and my prayer warriors will not rest in prayers until the perpetrators of this evil are brought to justice. We will cry to the Almighty God, the one who knows all things to fish out these people. Not only those who raped my daughter and ended up killing her but everyone who had ever committed rape, particularly in Nigeria and all other nations of the world.
I will cry to my God, the all knowing God to fish them all out so that they will face justice.
As much as I hate the death sentence, because anyone who is dead cannot be reached for salvation, I think that every form of punishment that will be given to a rapist cannot be considered too severe.
God helping me, I will keep on crying to God that anyone who ever thinks of raping anybody again, the Almighty God will stop them before they can do so. Even if he has to take them away from this world to achieve that purpose” he said
A musician and a pianist who are both robbery suspects have been arrested by the Lagos Police Command. The suspects confessed that they were forced into robbery by the need to survive the COVID – 19 lockdown hunger.
The suspects: Chinonso Michael, 25, an Afro hip-hop singer and Chimelu Victory, 22 years, a pianist, were arrested last week Wednesday in company of 5 other suspects at their residence at 4, Modupe Young Thomas Estate, Ajah.
The duo had on 10th April, 2020, ordered pay on delivery, an iPhone 11 Pro Max valued at N450,000 through an online platform from their hideout in Ajah.

The suspects – who jumped off from the first floor to the ground naked – on sighting the police, confessed that was the third time they sold iPhone 11 Pro Max during the COVID – 19 lockdown.
In their confessions, Chinonso and Chimelo, who are regular performers in some Lagos night clubs, attributed their actions to the lockdown, stressing that they had nothing to eat for almost two weeks.
“We were already owing all the store owners in the neighbourhood. Nobody was ready to give us credit anymore. We had to device a means to survive the lockdown”, they stated.
