62-year-old Floyd Sullivan, the man who helped raise HipHop stars, Rae Sremmurd and their brothers when they were young have been confirmed dead following a shooting in Mississippi.
Police officers from Tupelo Police Department who were dispatched to the home of the deceased on Monday night, found that he died from multiple gunshot injuries.
The singers’ younger brother, Michael was detained for psychiatric evaluation by the police who described him as a person of interest in the shooting.
TMZ reports that the police who commented on the death of Floyd who married Rae Sremmurd’s mother Bernadette and also had a son with her, said no one else is being sought in connection with the killing which led to the detention of 19-year-old Michael.
A pregnant woman’s life was lost alongside a bus driver in a fatal road accident in Ondo state recently – the accident left her three children severely injured too.
The lady has been identified as Ginika Ikegwuonu Okechukwu and is said to have lost her life in the road accident in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state.
According to the Ondo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the crash occurred around 7:40am at the Ore tollgate on the Ore-Sagamu Expressway and involved a Lexus SUV with number plate KTU 141 FX and a truck with number plate EPE 72 SB.
It was gathered that a second crash happened at Kilometre 115 on the Ore – Sagamu Expressway, a few metres away from the Ore tollgate around 1 pm. Nine persons were involved in the accident out of which one was killed and six were injured. The crash was said to have involved a Toyota Sienna space bus, which reportedly suffered a tyre blowout and the driver lost control of the vehicle , which somersaulted several times.
The Head of Operations, FRSC in the state , Mr Segun Ogungbemide, who confirmed the crashes, said they occurred as a result of excessive speed, adding that the corpses of the deceased had been deposited in the morgue of the Ore General Hospital, while the injured were taken to the same hospital.
“The two fatal accidents are avoidable, because they occurred as a result of excessive speed by the drivers of the vehicles,” Ogungbemide stated.
He urged the motorists to always comply with rules and regulations and avoid excessive speed.

Outspoken Nigerian author and political critic, Reno Omokri has revealed that at some point in his life, he became an atheist despite being born to a Catholic mother and an Anglican father.
He shared that during this period, he began studying the Bible and the Quran to know the true God. He said that after his study, he was convinced that following Christ is the way.
He wrote,
How Religion Divides and Under-develops Africa (Conclusion). That is how we come to have a Nigeria dominated by Muslims in the North, Anglicans and other Protestants in the West, and Catholicism in the East. It was not by chance. It was not by the choice of Nigerians. To the largest extent, with only very few exception, it is by design of external powers.
I urge Africans to think about their religions. Do not just accept your religion because of the accident of your birth. Your eternal soul is too valuable to be left to chance.
I use myself as an example. I was born to a Catholic mother and an Anglican father. While my mother schooled in Europe, I was anglicised by the rest of the family who were Anglican. I remained an Anglican until I went to university. If all Africans can free their minds and choose their religion by themselves, Africans will stop being divided and fighting each other on the basis of religion and region, and we will no longer by the patsies of European and Arab nations, and Africa will be truly free to become the greatest continent on Planet Earth.

The execution date for four men who were convicted of fatally gang-raping a female student on a bus in Delhi in 2012 has been set.
The men, Akshay Kumar Singh, 31, Pawan Gupta, 25, Vinay Sharma, 26, and Mukesh Singh, 32, are due to be hanged on January 22 at 7am in the city’s Tihar jail, a court has ruled.
The ruling comes after the country’s Supreme Court rejected appeals against the initial death sentence by all four men.
According to Mail Online, the men still have once more chance to appeal against the so-called ‘black warrant’ death sentenced, with their lawyer expected to file a mercy plea with the country’s Supreme Court.
Asha Devi, the mother of 23-year-old victim Jyoti Singh, said: ‘This judgement will reinforce people’s faith in the judiciary. My daughter will get justice.’
The victim, Singh was riding on a bus with a male friend through Delhi on December 16, 2012, when they were attacked by six men including the bus driver.
Her friend, Awindra Pratap Pandey said they were beaten unconscious with a metal bar, before the men then took it in turns to rape and torture Jyoti.
The man reportedly used the metal bar to inflict ‘catastrophic internal injuries’ on the student, who was dumped naked by the side of the road.
Awindra survived with injuries, but Jyoti had to be flown to Singapore for specialist treatment, where she died two weeks later (Dec.29).
Five men and one juvenile were initially arrested for the attack, but one of the men, Ram Singh, died in custody in 2013 with an autopsy ruling he hanged himself.
The juvenile was convicted of rape and murder and sentenced to the harshest possible punishment – imprisonment for three years in a reform institution.
The remaining four men who are now to be hanged were convicted of rape and murder in September 2013 and sentenced to death.

Nigerian singer, Wizkid has been reported to have hit big with the 2016 deal he signed with RCA Records which remains the biggest music deal yet by an African music act.
According to a report on the official website of the Grammy Awards, Drake’s 2016 international hit One Dance, once the most-streamed song on Spotify was the stepping stone to set him on the path to becoming one of Africa’s biggest music export.
An excerpt from the report reads:
“Currently, Afrobeats is the next international sound sweeping pop music. Major stars like Kanye West and Rick Ross have all collaborated with Afrobeats acts. A 27-year-old man identified as Meshack Keith Bwisa, has been found dead after being declared missing since December 25.
The deceased said to be an employee of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) — registry department — in Kakamega, was found after his relatives went over to his house to look for him as they prepared to celebrate the New Year festivity as a family.
The police was invited over after they knocked and found that the door was locked from the inside. Charcoal ashes were found on the floor, suggesting that Bwisa died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Kakamega Central OCPD, David Kabena revealed that the deceased left a note blaming his unsuccessful bets for his decision to commit suicide.
He said;
“The body had swollen and decomposed. It is likely Bwisa died on the night of December 25, 2019.
“There was a suicide note placed next to his body. In the letter, Bwisa blamed frustrations arising from unsuccessful bets as the reason for his suicidal ideation. In the note, he also advised the youth and his family members to refrain from betting, saying it ends up impoverishing people.”

The three police officers spotted in a viral video assaulting a young man for refusing to unlock his iPhone in Enugu, have been paraded following their arrest.
The incident occurred on January 4 along Kenyatta Street, Uwani, Enugu.
Parading the officers before newsmen on Monday January 6, Enugu Police Commissioner Mr Ahmed Abdurahman said a panel of inquiry whose report will be used in the orderly room trial of the erring police officers have been constituted.
Commenting on the video which he said left him disturbed, Abdurahman said;
“After the panel’s three days’ work, we will look into the panel’s findings and recommendation. Then, they will definitely face orderly room trial and after all these we know what level of punishment will be meted on them.
“The members of the public should know that the Nigeria Police under the present IG cannot condone and shield such uncivilized characters.
“Nigerians should know that the negative action of the erring personnel is unprofessional and does not in any way reflect the image and attitude of the Nigeria Police. We are here to police with human face and some level of decorum and civility.”

The Nigerian singer, who wears his hair in long locs, revealed that he made the decision to never cut his hair after he met a woman popularly known as Sister P.
Sharing a throwback photo of himself and Sister P, the veteran Nigerian singer said she made him realize who he is as an African, and made him proud of who he is as a Nigerian. This led to his decision never to cut his hair again.
He added that he has been looking for the woman for years until he came across a video of her online.

Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana popular known by his stage name Falz has revealed his longing to be loved and love.

Nigerian singer Mr. Eazi in a new interview has opened up on why he does not own a car as many of his colleagues in the entertainment business.
Speaking in an interview with Joy Fm with OAP George Quaye, Eazi was asked if he owns a car and the singer replied saying;
“No, I still don’t have a car. This is because all year round I’m not stationed in one place. Today, I’m in this country playing shows, tomorrow, I’m somewhere else. It doesn’t make any sense for me to buy a car and just pack it, and so no, I still don’t have a car”.
