Ex-OAU lecturer Prof Akindele sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual harassment charge against him
Prof. Richard Iyiola Akindele, was dragged to court for demanding sex to pass one of his students, Monica Osagie, and was on Monday sentenced to two years in prison.
We earlier reported that he changed his plea from ‘not guilty to guilty’ and now he has received a verdict of two years in jail.
The prosecutor, Mr. Shogunle Adenekan said all parties in the matter have reached a plea bargain and pleaded for a suspended sentence for the accused.
At the previous hearing, Richard Iyiola Akindele was denied bail and was accused of making incantation while making his report with the prosecutor.
Reality TV star and Nollywood actress, Gifty has in some typa way mentioned that Mr 2kay is not the father of her daughter and that she knows who the real father is.
However Gifty, today took to her Insta-story to seemingly deny Mr 2kay as the father, with the claim that she is not a baby mama, but a mother and it is only a woman that truly knows who the true father of her baby is.

Islamic scholar, Ustaz Abdulfattah Adeyemi has called on women to share their husbands with other women because they only have 25% access to their husbands, while the remaining 75% belongs to other women.
Adeyemi said this in Abuja, at the inauguration of Sisters of Jannah, a Muslim women’s charity organisation.
His words:
“Let me tell you that your husband is only yours 25%.
Your husband is not your property; your only share of him is 25%. The remaining 75% belongs to other women. If you want your husband 100%, then you are a thief.
You are going beyond the 25% that is yours; the remaining 75 75% belongs to other ladies. Don’t think that because you are wives, other women should not share your husbands.
Whenever you see polygamy that is not successful, it is because of a woman. We men are the Angels that Allah sends to help women.
If Allah makes it easy for you, if they ask you to shift, please shift a little so that somebody else can also sit down.
And you that is asking somebody else to shift, you have to fear Allah; you that they want to allow to come in, fear Allah. Don’t go there and scatter their lives for them. .
Don’t go there and constitute problem for them. The man may be doing it for the sake of Allah, don’t let him regret it.”
As he celebrates his 76th birthday, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to give him more time to execute his plans.
He made the plea, today, after a special parade that the guards brigade of the Nigerian army organised for him.
He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for him and the country at large, charging them to continue to show more understanding of his administration’s policies aimed at transforming the nation.
“Nigerians should continue to pray for me and understand my intentions and give me time,” he said, while adding that the government would continue to remind Nigerians of its achievements in the last three and half years.
Diamond Bank has confirmed that it’s been acquired by Access Bank.
News broke yesterday that the bank has been acquired by Access in a deal overseen by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Diamond Bank on Monday released a statement sharing details of the acquisition.
The statement, titled “Statement Regarding Scheme to Merge with Access Bank” read:
The Board of Diamond Bank Plc (“Diamond Bank”) today announces that following a strategic review leading to a competitive process, the Board has selected Access Bank Plc (“Access Bank”) as the preferred bidder with respect to a potential merger of the two banks (“the merger”) that will create Nigeria and Africa’s largest retail bank by customers.
The Board of Diamond Bank believes that the merger is in the best interest of all stakeholders including, employees, customers, depositors and shareholders and has agreed to recommend the offer to Diamond Bank’s shareholders. Completion of the merger is subject to certain shareholder and regulatory approvals.
The proposed merger would involve Access Bank acquiring the entire issued share capital of Diamond Bank in exchange for a combination of cash and shares in Access Bank via a Scheme of Merger. Based on the agreement reached by the Boards of the two financial institutions, Diamond Bank shareholders will receive a consideration of N3.13 per share, comprising of N1.00 per share in cash and the allotment of two (2) New Access Bank ordinary shares for every seven (7) Diamond Bank ordinary shares held as at the Implementation Date. The offer represents a premium of 260% to the closing market price of N0.87 per share of Diamond Bank on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (“NSE”) as of December 13, 2018, the date of the final binding offer.
Immediately following completion of the merger, Diamond Bank would be absorbed into Access Bank and it will cease to exist under Nigerian law. The current listing of Diamond Bank’s shares on the NSE and the listing of Diamond Bank’s global depositary receipts on the London Stock Exchange will be cancelled, upon the merger becoming effective.
Diamond Bank expects the transaction to be completed in the first half of 2019.

Sacked lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife, Prof. Richard Iyiola Akindele, has pleaded guilty to sexual harassment charge against him.
Iyiola was dragged to court for demanding sex to award marks to one of his students, Monica Osagie.
The lecturer changed his plea from ‘not guilty’ to ‘guilty,’ on Monday.
The prosecutor, Shogunle Adenekan told the court that all parties involved in the matter have reached plea bargain.
He then asked the court for a suspended sentence for the lecturer.

A lady returning from a trip has revealed how soldiers stopped their bus, questioned their driver for playing a certain kind of music, and forced the young men with full hair to cut their hair.
Sharing photos of the male passengers being forced to cut each other’s hair with razor blade, Ify Nnamani wrote:
This here, is so wrong on many levels
I’m traveling back from the village and these soldiers stopped our bus. First, this one questioned our driver for playing music that reminds him of his days in the ‘depot.’ Then he asked these three guys to come down for carrying full hair. Now they are making them barb each other with the blunt razor they forced our driver to provide.
I don’t know when carrying full hair or playing music in the bus became illegal that these soldiers had to detain us for over 30 minutes. I was so angry on behalf of those guys, especially as some of the older folks in our bus kept saying they deserved to have their hairs cut that way. What is a guy doing with full hair?
All these blatant abuse of power and bullying of innocent civilians by the military can’t be allowed to continue unchecked.

Colin Kroll, the CEO and co-founder of HQ Trivia, has died of an apparent drug overdose … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Kroll’s girlfriend called police early Sunday and asked them to check up on him after she was unable to get in touch. Cops went to downtown Manhattan to do a welfare check, entered his apartment and found Kroll’s body in his bedroom with drug paraphernalia nearby.
A police source tells TMZ at this point cops believe the drugs involved were cocaine and heroin.
Kroll was named CEO of HQ Trivia in 2015. The year before, he was fired from Twitter after he was determined to be a “bad manager.” Female employees claimed his behavior made them uncomfortable, however, no sexual harassment claims were ever filed.
HQ Trivia was having problems recently. It was steadily losing audience. In January, HQ was in the top 10 list of most downloaded iPhone games. It’s now fluctuating between #250 and 500 in the U.S. Also, Kroll was dealing with an H.R. complaint by an HQ employee for his “aggressive management style.”
Kroll was also the co-founder of Vine and was General Manager between 2013 and 2014. And, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Jetsetter. Prior to that, Kroll served as the Engineering Manager at Yahoo between 2007 to 2009.

A 28 year old boy identified as Jeffrey Otite has run mad while trying to withdraw cash from ATM in Delta.
According to vanguard, the boy had gone to make the withdrawal from the ATM along Okpe Road in Sapele, Delta State and all of a sudden he started behaving abnormally.
The incident which happened along Okpe road by Akintola witnessed a massive crowd as early as 6.30am. A source who at the scene said Jeffrey came on a motorcycle that morning ” he walked into the ATM box and the next thing we saw was Jeffrey shouting on top of his voice.
He starting pulling his clothes and talking gibberish, that was what attracted passerby to the scene” the man who craved anonymity said.
However a young man who simply called himself Onyokpe said Jeffrey had been sick.
“He has this high fever I know his parents has been treating, so I think this is what is worrying him” he said.
The crowd probably enjoying the show was said to have broken into scream of “Ghana Burger!” Ghana Burger!” another name for Yahoo boys, while clapping along the chanting. Jeffrey was later tied up by good Samaritans before his relatives took him away in a blue Toyota Camry.
