Nigeria first-choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will not take part in the Super Eagles’ upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifying clash against South Africa and Uganda friendly.
The on-loan Deportivo La Coruna shot-stopper was in action for Elche as they suffered a 5-1 Cadiz in Sunday’s Segunda fixture.
After the encounter, his club confirmed he suffered ‘a heavy concussion’ during the game and was sent to the clinic where he later was discharged for further examinations.
“Francis Uzoho has suffered a heavy concussion at the party today and has been transferred to the San Rafael clinic,” Elche informed via Twitter.
“After the tests performed no bone injury has been appreciated and has been discharged. Additional tests will be held tomorrow in Elche.”
However, on Monday, the Spanish side revealed the 20-year-old will be spending the next four weeks on the sidelines after suffering a rib fracture.
This rules him out of the crucial Afcon qualifier against Bafana Bafana on November 17 and Uganda friendly three days later.
“Francis Uzoho has undergone today’s radiological tests at the Tesla Clinic that determine that the player has a fracture of the seventh costal arch after the blow suffered yesterday at the Ramón de Carranza Stadium,” read a club statement.
“The estimated time of withdrawal is four weeks.”
Uzoho also confirmed the information on his Instagram, expressing his disappointment at missing out on international duty ever since making his debut against Argentina in November 2017.
“Injury is part of the game, definitely not the best timing but there are things beyond us,” Uzoho wrote on Instagram.
“So sad I won’t be there for my teammates for the next four weeks they’re more than capable to get the job done.
“Coming back a beast. In Christ alone!”
Uzoho, alongside Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi, was included in Gernot Rohr’s 23-man squad for the upcoming games.
However, it is yet to be seen what decision the German handler would make in terms of who replaces the shot-stopper and/or who gets the nod between the sticks in the clashes.
The Super Eagles sit atop Group E log with nine points from four games while Stuart Baxter’s men, a point adrift, are placed second.

Mike Bamiloye has revealed and shared with Nigerians how to take ‘fantastic pre-wedding photos.
Taking to his Instagram page, the Christian Filmaker who seems rather disappointed with how pre-wedding photos are now taken, took to his Instagram to share a photo with his wife, Gloria Bamiloye, writing;
“Youths of Nowadays, Come Up Here, and let us teach you. How to take Fantastic Pre-Wedding Pictures!”
Mike Bamiloye had before now revealed how his wife accepted his wedding proposal. Penning down a heartfelt birthday message to his wife, he wrote;
I write to Celebrate my Dear “Sister Gloria” today…
The day I went to propose to her, I never beat about the bush or rehearsed any Love persuasive Poem. I never said anything like, “…the Lord sent me” or ” I felt the Lord is leading me…” Or ” I dreamed and saw…” Or “I heard a voice from Heaven that…” I had said some of those things before to some sisters whom I thought the Lord was leading me to, and I was wrong. This time around, I went to this new sister, after my usual “Much Prayers and Waiting”. I was not even sure if the Lord was leading me or not again….My computers have been crashed and the memory virused by the previous disappointments I had met from the sisters I had thought were the will of God.
So I had arrived the campus and the brethren were happy to see me. I usually came at evening time, for Drama rehearsals or if there were drama outreaches, I would come to go with them or lead them to the programs. But this time, I came during the day, at lecture time and many of the brethren were coming to me to know why or what information I had brought for the Fellowship Drama Unit members. I simply said I came to see “Sister Shola”. And that was unusual of me. I don’t come asking for sisters in the fellowship. I had no business with sisters, but with Fellowship heads and with Drama Unit Co-Ordinator in particular or with the Fellowship President.
So, some brethren spread out to look for “Sister Shola”. And one sister found her in the school Library and grabbed her hand: “Bro. Mike is around. He is looking for you.” Prior to that time, I had no business with Sister Shola, we were not close. We had only acted together on stage presentations before. She was not among the sisters who were closer to me at Fellowship. She carried her books and both sisters were rushing down to see ” Bro. Mike” who had come to the campus at unusual time. The sister brought her and left.
Sister Shola stood before me smiling, and waiting for the instructions, probably to the Drama Unit, or information of a her being cast into a new Drama Unit presentation. I greeted her. She replied with a smile. I told her bluntly, that the Holy Spirit had not sent me, neither did I see any vision.
Then, I asked her: WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
She stood before me speechless for some minutes, looking at me with some astonishment and confusion. She was never never expecting to hear such question from “Bro. Mike” of all people! She was lost for words, because it was the last thing she would expect to hear from me.
I got my answer after one month of waiting. It was on a Sunday Morning. I had travelled to ILESHA and decided to worship in her church. I was in the congregation while I watch her standing tall and slender above the rest choir as they sang the special song for the morning. I never knew she saw me too. I had been praying for the whole month that the Lord would confirm this one this time. I could not imagine how I would feel if the Lord said this one was not the will of God again.
After the church service, I went to wait for her at the front of her house. I just wanted to greet her again and look at her again, and maybe the Lord would answer my prayers this time. She came not so long and ushered me into the house quietly. She was quiet. She was not showing any excitement, which got me more worried again. I sat down on a chair while she was writing something on the table. Then, she finished writing, and she turned to me with a small piece of paper containing ONE SINGLE LINE OF SENTENCE:
“I WILL MARRY YOU”.
Silence. Grave Silence came down in the room. At last. That was the first time in my life, a lady would agree to marry me. All the once I thought were the will of God for me had, unfortunately, been engaged before I got there. Oh! The Dilemma of a Single Searching Brother! And one of the Sisters even kept me waiting for three years, without giving me a “Yes” or a “No”. Until I was delivered from the shackles. At last…! Right there I knelt down in Prayers and she knelt down in my front with her eyes closed. There, I told the Lord, as I held her hands in prayer, that, “Today, Lord, our Ministry have started. Today, Lord, we shall serve you together with all our life and with all our heart.” We prayed further for His help and Mercy upon us. That was day and time, our ministry, Mount Zion began. That was Sunday 4th, August 1985. And She was 21 Years Old then, while I was 25! Is it not evident that the Lord actually led me? NOW TODAY, THIS GIRL IS 52!
A teenage gang member who hunted down and stabbed a talented 18-year-old Nigerian footballer over a gangland postcode feud, has been jailed for life in the U.K
Jonathan Abora was 17 when he knifed Israel Ogunsola, who once had trials with Arsenal, on April 4, 2018.
Abora and his alleged accomplice John Paul Mokonzele, then 19, were connected to the E8 London Fields gang while Ogunsola was linked to rival E9 gang – both based in Hackney, east London.
Abora followed Israel in his Vauxhall Astra before the pair stabbed him six times during a knife fight which lasted less than 30 seconds.
The convict fell into the “knife-carrying culture” after joining a gang at the age of 14. Now 18, he was jailed for life, today at the Old Bailey, after a jury found him guilty of murder.
Det Ch Insp Chris Soole from the Met’s murder squad said:
“Israel was hunted by Abora who was armed and ruthless in his efforts to kill.
“He will now have plenty of time to think about his actions in prison where he belongs.
“I hope this conviction brings some small comfort to Israel’s family and acts as a deterrent to anyone thinking of carrying weapons on our streets.
“We know Abora did not act alone and we are now appealing for anyone who knows what happened to call police.”

The Apostle in the viral sex tape, Apostle Chris Omatsola, according to reports, has been forced to relocate his church after he began receiving threats following the release of the video.
After the video went viral, the lady featured in the video, Princess Tamaratokoni Okpe, claimed it was Omatsola himself who leaked the video to get back at her for breaking off their engagement. (Check it out here)
But Omatsola has denied being responsible. On the day the video went viral, Omatsola took to Facebook to ask his members to pray for him.
He wrote:
Let he or she that is without a sin among you be the first to cast a stone. Friends, pray for the church of God; pray for Zionwealth Church; pray for #ChrisOmatsola.God bless you. #ApostleChrisOmatsola#IstandwithACO #ZionwealthChurch #SatanWillNotWin #John8v7.
In a recent interview with Punch, Omatsola revealed that he has relocated his church and only core members know the new location.
The Lekki and Ajah locations of the Zionwealth of Life Assembly has been empty and the new location of the church is still being kept a secret.
Omatsola, who is depressed as a result of the incident, said he relocated his ministry because he feared for his life and those of his members. He also added that people had threatened to burn down his church, so they had to move to a secret location.
He also denied claims that he was the one who leaked the video. He added that his only regret was having premarital sex.
Omatsola said he had apologised to his members and that they know the truth about the incident.
He told Punch:
A lot of waters have gone under the bridge. We are trying to protect ourselves from the public, because they have not really been fair to us. We still have a lot of our people, although this has affected our ministry grossly. Our church is a ministry. It is an assembly of young people.
We have a location where we meet for now because of what happened; we have been receiving a lot of threats; some people are saying they want to burn our church. We had to change the location to a designated place where we meet and we will not share that with the public, because we don’t want the public; we know our people.

It has been reported that some Nigerians were seen waiting patiently for their turns to buy and taste the Garri packed in attractive blue and white sachets.
Some Nigerians were seen on queue scrambling for “garri” that was made in Ghana at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the product, which was neatly packaged in 125 grammes sachet and labeled “Crispy Gari Mix’’, was on display at the Ghana stand at the fair.
The product was mixed with groundnut and sugar and was sold for N170 per 125g at the Ghana stand.
The commodity manager, Ernest Boateng, said he was highly impressed with the sale within two days of showcasing the product in Nigeria.
“I am surprised at the high patronage between yesterday and today, amongst other product we brought for sale, this one sells more,’’ he said.
Oshodi Tunde, one of the buyers who was seen eating the product directly from the pack, advised Nigerians to copy the innovative idea.
“Nigerians should make use of this idea by packaging garri with sugar and groundnut for sale too.
“We should stop looking for white collar jobs and try to do something meaningful with our country’s resources,’’ he said.
EFCC officials and police officers have stormed a church in Lagos, arresting the pastor who scams his own members.
A report by Vanguard has shown that there was serious pandemonium in Shoba community, Abule-Ado, Lagos, weekend, as security agents stormed a Pentecostal church, Power of the Holy Ghost Evangelical Ministry a.k.a Tuesday Tuesday Church, to arrest the pastor of the church.
The pastor, Prophet Cletus Chukwunweuba Ilongwo, was arrested over allegations of scam made against him by some members of his church and the community.
The security agents, numbering about 100, made up of officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and policemen from the area, burst into the church in the early hours of the day after all efforts to invite the pastor of the church, who is standing trial in court, to report to EFCC failed.
It was gathered that Prophet Ilongwo was initially arrested early this year by the Police and EFCC after a former member of the church reported that he defrauded him of N85 million, which led to the loss of his job in one of the first generation banks in the country.
Vanguard reports that after he was invited for interrogation, he jumped bail and efforts made to re-arrest him failed until his surety was arrested last week. He reportedly abandoned his surety to languish in EFCC detention, prompting a joint operation by EFCC and the Police to arrest him.
During the operation, which lasted for hours, it was learned that members of his church confronted security agents with dangerous weapons, leading to the use of force to arrest him inside one of the rooms in the church.
Eyewitnesses said members of the community, who had been complaining over the activities of the prophet and members of his church, went wild in jubilation, extolling the security agents for making them heave a sigh of relief.
The community members alleged that hoodlums and bodyguards attached to the prophet had subjected them to intimidation, harassment and public assault and all efforts they made to call the attention of the Police to their activities failed.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the suspect, Prophet Ilongwo, was taken to EFCC office at Ikoyi, where he was detained and taken to Ikeja High Court today to answer charges against him by the former banker.
The spokesman of Defence Headquarters, DHQ, Brigadier General John Agim, has revealed that no one takes on the military without suffering casualties.
Agim said this while speaking in an interview with Osasu Igbinedion on The Osasu Show. Members of the movement, better known as Shi’ites, clashed with soldiers in some parts of Abuja last week, leading to the death of many.
“The clash that you see, in fact three times now, is that the Shi’ites obstruct the military from doing their job. They are a law unto themselves. They do anything,” he said.
Asked why the Shi’ites are asked to obey the law while the FG has refused to obey the court order to release El-Zakzaky, Agim said: “So they are attacking the military to show their dissatisfaction with the government, then they should be ready for the consequence.
We don’t have rubber bullets when we are sent on assignments. So, if any organisation that is not happy with the government wants to take on the military, then they should be ready for the consequence.
Whatever the problem of the Shi’ites with the FG, let them take it constitutionally. You take on any military anywhere in the world and you will be taken down.”
He said if the Shi’ites were left to protest freely, people ask where the military is, but if the military intervenes, “you people are still blaming the military; why don’t you let these people be? .
“The solution is that Shi’ites must be a religious organisation. Obey the laws of the land. Nobody can take on the military and they will not have casualties.”
Election season is upon us and it is the time again when politicians will use different antics to slyly win the hearts of the populace so as to gain their votes in coming elections.

An American journalist, author, and investigative reporter, Robert Neuwirth, who gave a TED talk on age-old sharing economies of Africa, talked about the Igbo apprenticeship system.
According to Robert Neuwirth, the Igbo apprenticeship system is the largest business incubator platform in the world because when an apprentice serves, his master is expected to set him up in business.
The journalist further added that apprenticeships that work like locally generated venture capital and systems for allocating scarce water, can propagate and scale these models that could help communities thrive from the bottom up.
Popular Instagram model and socialite has attested to the fact that beautiful and famous women can also be intelligent.
It elaborates the obvious to state that Kenyan socialite, Corazon Kwamboka, is one of the most popular Instagram personalities in this part of the world. Touted to have one of the widest and curviest hips in Africa, Kwamboka does not hesitate to flaunt her ‘assets’.
Her Instagram page is loaded with pictures that would make any warm-blooded man drool.
However, many don’t know that Corazon is also a qualified lawyer. In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the model and entrepreneur bemoaned the fallacy that a lot of people think she’s just a beauty without brain.
She said ;
“I have had situations where colleagues didn’t take me seriously not because of my shape but due to the stigma that comes with being a socialite.
People assume that if you are beautiful and popular, then you cannot be intelligent too. But I like being underestimated because I like to see their faces when they finally get to hear me speak.
I do practise law – both commercial and criminal. My firm is in Nairobi; so, if you ever need legal representation, you know who to talk to.
Imagine a beautiful, powerful woman like me who actually knows what she’s doing representing a client; you can never go wrong.”
Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye of the defunct Psquare group, has stated that Ghanaian music has fallen behind Nigerian music because Nigerian artistes are smarter than Ghanaian musicians.
Speaking during an interview on WGHC Radio in Chicago, USA, the singer revealed that most of the trends come from Ghana but Nigerian singers pick these trends and make them big.
“Nigerians, we’re too sharp…most of the sounds you’re talking about they come from you guys [Ghanaians]… if you’re not sharp enough, Naija we’re sharper,” he said.

Reacting to the sad news of her husband’s demise and the way he died, Mrs Oladejo, said she could not give an explanation as to why her husband decided to take his own life, adding that he was a peace-loving husband and father.
She told PUNCH
“God is the only one who sees the intention of his heart for choosing to take his own life; I don’t know what could have been his reason. We have been married for over 40 years and nobody ever tried settling a dispute between us. When he was leaving for Lagos on Sunday, he prayed for us and one of the children followed him to the park. He was a peace-loving man; he was not in the habit of fighting with anyone and anytime he had money, he would buy things for all the children around.”
