A UK-based Nigerian woman, identified as @Engr.Lois A, has blamed Nigerian immigrants for the ban on all visa types to the UK.

In a post she shared on the microblogging platform X, she stated that Nigerians living in the UK were always ranting online.

According to her, she believes that the UK decided to put a ban on all visa types because of the kind of content Nigerian creators living in the UK were sharing online.

She wrote in the tweet;

“All of you people that moved to UK and couldn’t SHUT THE FUCK UP, you see what’s happening now!? Must you do a YouTube video?? Must you rant!?? Must you do £10 challenge? Must you do GRWM?? Must you blog?? Why can’t you just be abroad and SHUT THE FUCK UP?? SHUT THE FUXK UP!!!“

While some internet users backed her opinion up, others tagged her as an hypocrite, attaching previous tweets from her, where she posted a lot about living in the UK.

In their opinion, she blamed Nigerian content creators for the ban, but did everything she condemned in her tweet.

Though it’s currently not clear why they are at odds, they gave a subtle hint with cryptic posts they shared on their Instastories.

The WAP crooner, who shares two children with her husband, asserted that she has ‘outgrown’ someone, presumably referring to her husband, and she needs to put herself first.

A Nigerian man @EkitiBabyGov has shared online, how his friend ended being booked for surgery in the hospital after consuming fufu in a bukka (local restaurant).

Sharing on x, he revealed that his friend has been taking drip for the past 2 weeks to flush his system.

He started the story by sharing that his friend ate fufu (a local Nigerian dish) mixed with hypo from a bukka in Lagos.

Not disclosing the name of the bukka spot, he said that his skin and intestines have not remained the same after the incident

According to him, Nigeria is in a dire economic state, and it’s disturbing that the presidency is more concerned about frivolities like housing for the Vice President when he already has a good place of residence.

“Even as I am still studying the 2024 fiscal budget as presented to the National Assembly last week, I cannot wait as I am compelled to ask : what is exactly wrong with us as a country?

I ask this question because it is hard for me to understand some of the recent happenings in our nation, in these critical times. The recent news about a budget provision of N15 billion for the construction of a new residence for the Vice President is both shocking and disheartening, considering the many important challenges facing our nation. Just recently in the Supplementary Budget, the sum of N2.5 billion was included for the renovation of the Vice President’s residence in Abuja, which means that he already has a residence.

Again, during the budget presentation, I heard the sum of N3 billion was allocated for the renovation of the Vice President’s residence in Lagos. If we total all these sums, we would have budgeted the sum of N20.5 billion for the housing of the Vice President at this critical time when we are not just the world’s poverty capital, but more people are falling into poverty, with so many Nigerians not knowing where their next meal will come from. Our health facilities have collapsed, and unemployment is skyrocketing.

I am convinced that 99.9% of Nigerians can only dream of living in the current residence of the Vice President. Several people employed in the universities are not being paid. Just to give an example, the salary of a professor in a Nigerian university is about N400,000, which without removing tax is about N5 million a year. What we have budgeted for the housing of the Vice President who is already luxuriously housed is, therefore, the annual salary of about 3000 professors! This is the finance needed to develop the much-needed human capital.

The budget of N5 billion for student loans, which is yet to be disbursed is only a tiny percentage of the cost of the Vice President’s new home. We are projecting to use four times the amount for educating ALL Nigerian indigent students to house the Vice President, and we are being told there is nothing wrong with us. I am sure the major teaching hospitals in Nsukka, Lagos, Ibadan, and Zaria did not receive this much capital vote in the budget this year. We have had leaders that were exemplary in the past.

Most Nigerians may not know that the popular 1004 flats in Lagos, was a land allocated for the building of a Presidential Mansion for the then Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed.

He sternly turned down the offer and instructed that the land should be used to build blocks of flats for civil servants. That is the kind of sacrificial leadership worth emulating. Our leaders must therefore stop the recklessness and insensitivity to the plight of the masses.

We need leaders who show compassion and are willing to sacrifice for common progress and development. Such compassionate and frugal leaders are critical in our journey to the New Nigeria. -PO”

Nigerian man arrested for k!lling his wife months after they relocated to the UK

A Nigerian man, Abodunde David Olubunmi, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife, Nurse Taiwo, a few months after they relocated to the UK.

The couple moved abroad with their three children at the beginning of 2023. However, shortly after, Taiwo filed a restraining order against her husband for reasons that were not made public.

Sadly, the man still found a way to harm her and killed her in cold blood. At the time of writing this story, the man has been remanded in jail in the UK while their children are currently in the custody of social services.

Confirming the sad news, Owoeye Adekunle, the brother of the deceased, took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking report and mourn her tragic passing.

A Nigerian lady who identified as @praiseoghre has shared how her crafty roommate convinced her to break up with her boyfriend and married him years after.

Recounting the event, she noted that her roommate hated her boyfriend but started dating him 6-months after they broke up.

Nigerian crossdresser, Daniel Nsikan, better known as Jay Boogie, has responded to accusations of lying and defrauding Nigerians with a fake medical diagnosis.

Jay Boogie has repeatedly been in the news lately after making his health condition public. He had disclosed that he had a botched liposuction surgery that resulted in sepsis and acute kidney injury. He then appealed for financial assistance for his medical treatment.

A medical doctor, believed to be a friend, later revealed that Jay Boogie’s two kidneys had failed and that he would be needing a kidney transplant.

However, a few days after the disclosure, one of the GoFundMe organizers raised concerns about the authenticity of Jay Boogie’s diagnosis, claiming he refused to provide a medical report. She also announced that the funds would be returned to the public.

Well, the crossdresser has now responded in a statement shared on his official Instagram page. He clarified that he never said he needed a kidney transplant but only sought financial help for treatment.

He debunked claims of lying and deceiving the public for money. Providing an update his health, Jay Boogie disclosed that he was discharged on November 28, adding that he no longer requires dialysis and is recuperating.

Nigerian Woman Falls Victim To Fraudster Posing As POS Operator, Loses Entire Bank Account Balance (VIDEO)

A Nigerian woman residing in Benin City, Edo State, has shared her experience of how a suspected fraudster, impersonating a POS operator, swapped her ATM card and managed to withdraw all the funds from her bank account.

The incident, recounted in a video she recorded, serves as a reminder about the prevalence of scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.

According to the woman, she encountered the fraudster while attempting to withdraw money from an ATM that was not dispensing cash.

A young man claiming to be a POS operator approached her and offered his assistance.

Trustingly, she handed over her card to him, hoping to retrieve the cash she intended to withdraw.

The imposter inserted her card into his POS machine but quickly feigned a network issue, stating that he was unable to complete the transaction.

Returning what she believed to be her card, she left the scene. However, her intuition prompted her to visit a nearby ATM to change her PIN.

To her dismay, the machine repeatedly rejected her attempts, indicating an incorrect PIN. It was then that she realized the fraudster had swapped her card with a counterfeit one.

Regrettably, her suspicions were confirmed when she received a debit alert shortly afterward, indicating that the fraudster had successfully emptied her bank account.

As the story continues to spread online, it is as sparked buzz, in hopes that awareness will be raised, allowing others to stay alert and protect themselves from falling victim to similar fraud schemes.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known by his stage name Mr Eazi, has thought back on how he became a target of cancel culture after claiming that Ghana influenced Nigerian music.

Recall that Mr. Eazi faced criticism after he tweeted on January 11, 2017, regarding Ghanaian music’s great effect on modern Nigerian music. In reaction, a number of colleagues, fans, and music lovers threatened to cancel him.

In response to the criticism, Mr. Eazi stated that, in spite of the threats, he doesn’t regret making the comment on a recent episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast with media personality, Joey Akan.

However, he was disappointed when some of the people in the business, whom he thought of as friends, joined others in cancelling him rather than dealing with the issue in private.

The “Leg Over” crooner also attacked individuals who still hold grudges against him, saying his remarks were insignificant and implying that their hostility is the result of unconnected factors.

In his words;

“When the whole issue with me being cancelled, even till tomorrow, I see people come on my [social media] profile and still throw hate. They said, ‘Oh, yeah, you said that.’ I’m like, ‘Fam, really? This energy take it to your local politician, wey dey run you street.’ You feel me? I didn’t kill anybody. I said what I said.

And I said it many years ago. If that is the reason you hate, then you hate me for something else. It’s deeper than that. And realising that just make me feel free. That’s the lens to which I look at e everything. Because I was seeing guys I was saying ‘Hello’ to, coming out to say, ‘F*ck Mr Eazi.’

And I was like, ‘Bro, you could have called me and say Eazi, I just saw this interview, you shouldn’t have said that. This is what I advise you to do.’ But it just became a thing of let’s all band together. And that’s why in my song ‘We Dey’, I said, ‘Twitter fingers steady showing fake love.’ Because it’s crowd mentality. It’s trendy to hate you, and now it’s like for clicks.

A Nigerian man was left bewildered after his girlfriend of one month destroyed his apartment over suspicion of cheating.

The Abuja-based man, identified as @Sarkideyforyou on Twitter (now X), revealed that he had traveled to Ilorin for a work trip but couldn’t keep in touch with his girlfriend due to network issues.

During his weekend stay in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, he was unable to contact his girlfriend, whom he had left in his house in Abuja.

Upon his return, he was met with a rude shock as he discovered that she had vandalized his apartment out of anger over her suspicion that he traveled to Ilorin to cheat on her with another woman.

A Nigerian lady who identified as @The_Amirah has shared via the microblogging platform how her friend planned to take her man after she was falsely diagnosed with cancer.

The lady tweeted this after quoting a tweet on the platform that required users to share when they realized that their friends secretly hated them.

The lady started by sharing that, she was falsely diagnosed with cancer when she was in 300 level in the university.

Instead of her friend to give her moral support, she was more concerned about dating her boyfriend when she was no more.

Popular Nigerian singer, Darey Art-Alade, has cautioned performers in the genre not to get exploited or rejected as Afrobeats gain popularity throughout the world.

In an interview that was published on Saturday, Darey stated that Nigerian artists should use their current level of popularity to draw in international investment.
