The nerves on some individuals though… So a guy was asked to take down his profile photo by the real owner of the photo and the response he gave is just jaw dropping.
The said guy, with name Adedeji Iwoluwa on Facebook used the profile photo of one Yetunde Bakare and when she asked him to take down the photo, he said he actually would, but he wants to use it in scamming someone first.
Disgusted by this, the lady took to her IG page to call out the said guy, sharing screenshots of the chats she had with him and his photos…
Message she sent to YBL:
She wrote,

Former Big Brother Naija Controversial housemate and video vixen, Gifty Powers declared herself a god as she showed off her new short hairstyle.
The light skinned beauty who is never shy of being present in the news shared the pictures on her Instagram page and wrote; “I AM A god … PS: my very first short hair..you like?

The Sexual Offenses Court in Lagos yesterday heard from a rape victim how three men who posed as a female on social media, drugged and raped her.
Giving an account of what happened before the judge, Sybil Nwaka, the victim who is also a model, said she came in contact with a female fashion designer online who said she was based in the UK and that whenever she returns to Nigeria, she would be needing her to showcase some of her piece.
The supposed female fashion designer, Vanessa, contacted the victim when she supposedly reached Nigeria and asked her to come and meet her at a certain location.
It however turned out it was a male gang using a female pseudonym to lure, rob and rape unsuspecting female victims.
“She told me she just moved to Nigeria from the UK that she was going to start a fashion business in Nigeria and since I have an idea of the fashion industry, that I could show her around and give her ideas and I agreed. Subsequently we talked for like seven months and I got real comfortable with her because we talked a lot and I felt she was a girl entrepreneur like me and I supported her. She said her mum didn’t support her career and she would like her mum to meet me and I agreed. She said she would send the address and I informed her I would take Uber but she admonished that I save on transporting so I took a bus to the address. When I got to the address, I felt it was the wrong address and called her but she said she would send her gateman over. The second defendant, Naduzie Okabueze, acted like the gateman. She said she was helping her mum so she couldn’t come to pick me. On getting to the house it looked like a proper house from outside but on getting inside I felt something was wrong and called her. She said her father runs a hotel and her mum sometimes stayed there and I naively believed her.”
Inside the house, one Mr Okabueze, joined by Gabriel Obinna and Victor Ukwu, the first and second defendants, to attack her. They beat her and then stripped her naked.
“They asked me to give them my ATM card saying if I didn’t give them N2 million they would kill me. They collected my phone password and pin number and asked me to start calling people to send money to me. They said I should call my parents but I lied they were both dead. I called my cousin and he sent money to me. I got there about 11:59 am and was there till 7 pm. They withdrew the money my cousin sent and collected the gold chain I had on me. They took naked pictures of me and the three guys had sex with me and they were blackmailing me with the pictures they took saying if I told anybody what happened that they were going to find me and kill me. The second defendant took me to the bus stop to make sure I didn’t talk to anybody. I boarded a bus and went to my cousin’s house.”
The suspects collected the N50,000 her cousin sent to her, her own N20,000 and a gold chain her dad had given to her.
The victim and her cousin later went to the police to lodge a complain. Sadly, the police was more interesting in the victim giving them money to begin the investigation.
“A friend of my cousin then asked us to go to the Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Response Team at Alausa and we did. On getting there, they took me to Mirabel Centre and they carried out tests on me and gave me pet drugs to use for a month. They assigned a lady to follow me to make a police report in the area the incident occurred and we went to Agege Police Station. Two weeks after, the five of them were caught by the police while doing the same thing they did to me to another girl and I was called to come and identify them and I did. I spoke with the other girl and she narrated the same thing on how she was in contact with Vanessa.”
The victim said the second victim pulled out of the case because she was scared for her life.
The judge adjourned till February 16 for cross examination of the witness.
I am sincerely sorry for attempting to get across to you through such an informal medium. Please sir accept my apologies, it is just that it is the only modest medium I could think up to get your ever busy attention from the demanding affairs of the state.
Your Excellency, I seriously doubt the timing of my letter especially now that the dust of the letters written to you on the state of the nation by ex-presidents are yet to settle. However, unlike His Excellency, Olusegun Obasanjo, I will not dare tell you not to contest for the next presidential election, I will rather remind you sir that by the virtue of being a sitting president, you are still the most privileged Nigerian alive that can fix our dear country Nigeria.
Mr. President, the word fix connotes that there is something wrong. No doubt, any sane mind in our present day Nigeria will not deny this fact irrespective of his or her political, religious or tribal disposition. To many, they believe the problem with Nigeria is political. Those who belong to this school of thought simply underline the problem as a leadership problem. The other school of thought believe that our country’s problem is either structural or spiritual. Those who belong to this school of thoughts believe that Nigeria is cursed and thus, was Prometheus bound to fail from the onset while those in the former group strongly think that until the structure of this country is disbanded to free the disparate blocs that make up Nigeria, the country will remain in political quagmire.
Your Excellency, at the risk of sounding arrogant I must say that these school of thoughts are wrong. Sir, I repeat, the problem with Nigeria is not political, spiritual or structural. This does not in any way erase the fact that Nigeria is deeply besieged and immersed in political, spiritual or structural problems. These problems are conspicuously evident, however, they are symptomatic. Those who are bandying these problems as the reason for our country’s lacklustre performance are missing the forest for the trees. The real problem that our country is suffering from is educational. This is the root problem. Till this problem is fixed, Nigeria will remain in political topsy-turvy. Thus, even if we divide her up or vote in an Eleanor Roosevelt, this problem will persist till we tackle and solve this fundamental problem.
Mr. President, education is simply a process of saying let there be light and common sense teaches us that nobody gropes around when there is light except such person is naturally blind. The good news is that Nigeria is not naturally blind, the mass blindness and groping around in Nigeria is as a result of miseducation or no education at all in most cases. Sir, any democratic nation that toys with consciously educating rightly the majority of her populace to be enlightened, productive and disciplined is playing with fire without knowing, and this is exactly what we have been doing since 1960 yet hoping against hope that Nigeria will work.
Your Excellency at this juncture, please, permit me to share with you the yardsticks to measure if one is truly educated. These yardsticks will help you to understand what have been missing in the Nigerian education system and what your administration and future administrations should target to achieve in order to ensure a viable future for Nigeria. The yardsticks to gauge if one is truly educated are: quiet life(discipline), minding your business(focus) and earning your own living(vocation). Mr. President, any man that does not know how to embrace a quiet life, any man that cannot focus daily on his calling, any man that cannot work honestly with his hands or GOD given brain to put food on his table is not educated and such is a threat to the nation. However, any man that can do the trio without passing the four walls of any academic citadel is a good and worthy citizen and can never be a problem to the society.
Sir, if you truly desire to put Nigeria on the path of greatness and curb corruption, then your administration should target to adopt an educational policy for young and impressionable citizens that will grow up to fend for themselves mentally, spiritually and physically without depending on their neighbour or any other body. It is no rocket science to decipher that a hungry, idle and ignorant citizen is a great threat to the society. Such dependant will be easily recruited by any Machiavellian religious, political and intellectual renegade.
Since such citizen is idle, hungry and ignorant, he can wreck an immeasurable havoc for his paymaster all you need do is feed him, think for him and pretend to have his interest at heart. This has been the lot of our nation since its existence. A great number of our populace who cannot think for themselves and feed themselves have always been used to thwart the little achievements of those who can politically, religiously and economically. These dependants do not understand how their daily act of intellectual laziness, economic cum spiritual idleness and character deficiency is collectively destabilizing our wheel of progress as co-travellers in this political spaceship called Nigeria. Mr. President, till a man learns how to think for himself, feed himself and focus daily on improving ways he can think and feed himself, he will remain a burden to those who can.
Your Excellency, I know it is not fitting to ask you questions, please forgive me, but the teacher in me cannot but help ask you the following questions to ponder on. Sir, how many Nigerians do you think can presently boast of having a mind of their own? How many Nigerians do you think can boast of honestly feeding themselves through the sweat of an honest labour? How many Nigerians do you think can boast of thinking of ways of improving their craft thereby contributing towards our national development?
Mr. President, the answers to these questions is our real problem. Once the numbers of those who cannot perform the above functions efficiently greatly outweigh those who can, then the future is bleak for such nation. Unfortunately that is the case with our dear nation. A more disheartening ugly truth is that these numbers are increasing exponentially with the dawning of every new day. Your Excellency, any nation, business or individual that truly wants to succeed must be built on the foundation of discipline, integrity, honest labour and the ability to creatively reinvent itself periodically. Your Excellency, our educational system both formal and informal does not intrinsically wire “majority of Nigerians” to practise all of the above virtues.
Mr. President you may take care to notice that I made reference to formal and informal education. Sir, please permit me to clarify on that. The formal face of educational institutions is the certificate awarding schools. This formalised process of education from crèche to universities and other certificate awarding professional institutes make up the formal sector. The informal sector starts from the family, cuts through the church, mosque, market place, social media, mass media and the society via social interactions. It is evident, that any government that prides itself to be democratic by respecting basic fundamental human rights have little or no control over the informal sector of education, but fortunately most forms of government have good control of the formal sector of education. If this is the case, a foresighted national government has to ensure that she creates a healthy and proactive educational culture for the majority of her citizen, if possible all her citizens, through the formal sector to enable them live a worthy life.
Your Excellency, any national government that fails to consciously and formally train her citizens to learn and live the culture of honest individual labour, tolerance and mental freedom will become either a Welfarist state or a politically volatile nation. Mr. President our nation has failed in this regard and this is why we are both a Welfarist and politically volatile nation. Sir if your administration truly wants to solve our national malaise then it has to change tactics and stop towing the line of other past administrations that were inventing and reinventing political quick fixes to a deep rooted educational problem.
Mr. President, no doubt this is a long term project and regrettably you have limited term in office. However, this does not in any way make it a mission impossible for you and your team. Sir, one of the beauties of life that makes one eager to wake up in the morning is having a vision that is bigger than oneself. This is one of such visions, it is bigger than your term in office but the good news is that it is not bigger than your political party. I believe this is where your political party comes into play.
As the leader of the party in power I believe the onus lies on you to sell this vision to your political party. If they can adopt this long term mission of educationally revolutionalizing Nigeria immediately, then your party have found a noble and authentic reason to hang on to power. Sir, 2019 is around the corner, the temptation to resort to short term palliatives to woo voters will be stronger than ever.
I will not advice you not to resort to such political painkiller, however, if you have no genuine plans to get to the root of our problem as a nation and yet try to contest 2019 election you may win but your name will be lost and forgotten immediately you exit the office just as we have forgotten the names of most of our past leaders.
The ball is still in your court Mr. President!
Remain creatively inspired Mr. President
Your humble servant

Nollywood actress, Stephnora Okeke, has refused to be called a contemporary of Omotola Jalade and Genevieve Nnaji.
She who started acting in the 90s after her NYSC program in 1995 was a household name in the early 2000s – Nora doesn’t just boast of her beauty alone but she has a multi talent to complement that.
She came into limelight in the 90s after starring in a Kenneth Nebu movie ‘blood of the orphan’, she has went on to star in many movies and TV series.
When asked in an interview that many say that her contemporaries are Omotola and Genevieve, Steph snapped in quickly saying
“I had already cut my teeth in the industry way before they came in. but while in the industry we did some jobs together. I started acting with the likes of Sandra Achums, Eucharia Anunobi, Liz Benson, Alex Lopez and Susan Patrick and a host of others.”
Although the likes of Genevieve and Omotola has gone miles of step ahead of her in terms of fame and achievement. Steph Nora is still single after her relationship with fellow Nollywood actor Jim Iyke collapsed.
Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that corruption will return to the country “automatically” if Nigerians vote out President Buhari come 2019.
The minister said this to journalists on Thursday at his office, according to Premium Times. “Let me tell you, if we don’t win, corruption will come back automatically,” he said. “Nobody will beg it.”
He said members of PDP have been “hungry” for four years because they are out of power.
“They have been out for four years and they have never been out of government before; PDP never left government, so now they are hungry.
Not hungry for power, in fact if you tell them that I want to keep power and I will give you money, they will say take power and give us the money,” he said.
He said reelecting Mr. Buhari will however not be an easy task because of the perception of Nigerians that the president had failed to meet the high expectations of Nigerians that led to his election in 2019.
“It was not easy last time but it will be more difficult now. Why it would be difficult, more difficult? Expectations were too high, and a lot of people felt that we did not meet those expectation but they are not looking at what it takes to meet those expectation,” he said.
He also admitted that there is corruption in the present government but however said it cannot be compared to what obtained during the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
“I will nearly be a foolish man to say that there is no corruption in this government, but compare the magnitude if there is any,” he said. “Before it was with impunity. Now there are consequences for stealing.
“For any reason we lose election, you the young ones are taking yourselves and Nigeria 10 steps backwards because the elites who left through PDP are waiting in the wind.”
Anerlisa Muigai, heiress to Keroche Breweries in Kenya, has given a piece of advice to insecure ladies, asking them to stop monitoring their boyfriends and husbands, suspecting they could potentially cheat on them.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, Anerlisa said women should not be worried about their men whenever they’re out and should only call them if it’s urgent.
She writes,
Ladies a piece of advice. I am not an expert in relationships but I’ll address two issues that stress women. If you want peace and happiness, please let your man be.
This calling your man every minute because he is out of your sight needs to stop.
Call him only if it’s urgent. You should never lack sleep because he left at 7pm and by 4am he is not back, he is a grown ass man who is fully aware of what time he should get back.
On the other hand, his phone should be none of your business. You need to trust your man, you cannot stop a man from cheating.
The more he feels nagged the more he wants you out of his sight. Those who say that your man will cheat on you, I always ask them ” so should we call a press conference and address the issue?”nkt . It should really be none of their business.
Put yourself first, love yourself, respect yourself and everything else should be last. Never stress yourself because of a man, if one relationship fails then off to the next one. Have peace of mind and relax. The only thing that should ever stress you are your children and work.
Did you watch day 18 of the Big Brother Naija 3 reality show?
If you missed it, we’ve got the highlights for you!
..
The Wager is Won
Today was a good day for the Housemates, obviously all their effort paid off because they finally won their first Wager.
The Presentation
After days of intently rehearsing their play, Angel egging them on every step of the way, Khloe asserting her authority as HoH and compliance from most of the Housemates, victory was finally theirs. The play was an illustration of a very typical Nigerian situation, something that would happen every day and with gusto, they managed to pull it off. Everyone went the whole hog, from costumes, to music and a clear effort, there was no way the Housemates were losing again. They won their 50% Wager and a roar of ecstatic cheer lit up the room.
Bitter Sweet Symphony
Just before the Housemates found out about their win, Biggie called out Lolu and Cee-C for their obvious bad behavior. They were both scolded and given a double strike which left many of the other Housemates gobsmacked. As the celebration reigned, both Cee-C and Lolu stood still with dead pan looks on their faces. Shook to their core.
A time of Joy
Aside from the obvious shock over the incident with Lolu and Cee-C the rest of the Housemates were absolutely overjoyed with their win. It was much needed as this is their first time inning a Wager and after two losses in a row, endless challenges and mounting tension, this is the motivation the needed to get their heads back in the game. Khloe was noticeably elated as the Wager was won under her rule as HoH.
Cee-C & Lolu poke the bear
It has been a tenuous few days since the reshuffling of pairs but Cee-C and Lolu have finally taken it too far, warranting a double Strike from Biggie.
Breaking Point
Following a stern address, Cee-C and Lolu have just received two Strikes each. Big Brother also gave instruction for them to be paired together indefinitely.
The fact that Cee-C and Lolu were unhappy about being bonded together was plain as day, but the happenings of yesterday have finally caught up with them. They had a tenuous day with ups and downs, arguments and incontrovertible strain, Cee-C and Lolu literally snapped. The reason was simple; she wanted to sit down and he didn’t. Cee-C pulled the sofa towards herself and slumped herself on the couch, to do this however, she released the pair’s harness which literally snapped and Lolu was left worse for the wear after the wire recoiled back to him, giving a blow to his thigh. Needless to say, only an explosive argument ensued, and no apologies were issued. This exhibit of defiance is what landed both the Housemates in the proverbial dog box with Biggie giving them both a two-Strike warning. Biggie was not happy saying “Your actions almost baffle Big Brother.”
Actions and Consequences
The week’s theme is “Bonding” and Cee-C and Lolu could not have acted in a more paradoxical way, hence the two-Strike warning. This means that if they step one more toe out of line, they will be Disqualified, and ushered out of Biggie’s House for good. The two rambunctious Housemates are now forced to learn how to work together as Biggie has made it clear that they will be a pair indefinitely. In a twist, Biggie has spared their current strategic partners (Tobi and Anto) from the punishment!
Going Forward
Most of the other 24-hour pairs in the House did their best to adapt to their new situations and for a brief moment, it really looked like Cee-C and Lolu were bonding so why did they let their moods get the better of them? A move will have a huge impact on whether Lolu and Cee-C stay in the House and survive evictions. Both the Housemates should have tried their best to get through the challenge of being tied together but then again, sometimes you can’t fight the way you feel.

Have you been watching? What did you think of the Day 18 activities?
The video footage of Philomina Chieshe – a sales clerk in the office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Benue state – alleging that a snake mysteriously swallowed the missing N36m, has finally been released.
The video was released about 24 hours after Chieshe denied that she never said, the money was swallowed by snake. She had told CNN that the claim was fabricated and that nobody questioned her about the missing money.
“I wonder why they are personalising the case? I did not say any money was swallowed by a snake,” Chieshe had told CNN.
In the new video released by The Sun, Chieshe told board members that the money got missing in a “mysterious” way. She said:
“It is a mystery. I myself, whenever I am taking the money to the bank, I am not able to account for what I got, until my house help, when we went for confession, fell down and confessed in Jos when prayers started,” Chieshe said in the video.
“And she said a lot of things that she is the one behind what is happening to me at the office
“That there is a snake that comes mysteriously whenever I open the safe and swallows the cash.
“Mysteriously, nothing was amounting to what I was having.”
Looks like the ‘swallowing snake’ seems to be a real stuff in the country as it’s been reported, with photos, of a thief who nabbed in Edo state with his snake which swallows his loots.
According to a Facebook user, Uuzele Louis, who shared photos, the said thief is an Hausa man who was caught stealing people’s valuables in the New Benin market.
The user wrote,
This Hausa man was found stealing people’s phones and money at new Benin market today. It was said that the snake swallowed all what he stole at that moment before people started beating him to make the snake vomit the items.

The governor’s mode of greeting is what’s quite baffling… What do you think?
A Muslim teenager’s tweet showing her and her “boyfriend” color-coordinating their outfits ahead of Valentine’s day went viral and put her in news headlines.
What makes her post especially funny is the boyfriend she was referring to. It’s actually a thing, not a person.
On the 13th of Febuary, @Adiiilaaa posted a photo of herself wearing a blue tunic with a navy blue hijab while standing next to a bin lined with a recycling bag in the same colour.
She wrote; “My Boyfriend and i colour-coordinated our outfits today”
In less than 24 hours, the tweet went got many retweets and went viral.
It has been retweeted 111K times and liked by 35K people. Her story was featured on blogs and websites such as Teen Vogue.
The 19-year-old apparently did not expect the massive reaction the tweet got and while enjoying her social media fame, she explained in another tweet that she was only trying to humor her friends and had no idea it would go viral.
She wrote: “omg the tweet was just supposed to humour my circle of friends ??”

So it’s been kinda raving recently on Twitter that Big Brother Naija housemate, Angel looks a lot like Nollywood actor, Wale Adebayo, who’s famous for his movie role as ‘Sango’.

In the spirit of Valentine’s day which is celebrated annually on the 14th of Febuary, couples usually set the day aside to show love and shower their significant other with gifts, chocolates and sometimes flowers (Albeit not in Nigeria) LOL.

Ghana’s Dancehall Shatta Wale is in the news again, but this time it is due to another prophecy that has been said about the artiste.
Recall a Kumasi-based pastor had said that ‘Dancehall King’ Shatta Wale was next to die following the sudden demise of dancehall diva, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in showbiz as Ebony Reigns, and Shatta Wale reacted by saying ‘if he doesn’t die by December, he’s going to burn down churches in the country’.
Now Another prophet called Charles Dady, has also prophesied that the ‘taken Over’ hitmaker will commit suicide out of frustration.
The man of God noted that a star is envied by many so Shatta Wale should talk less to preserve his life.
Charles Dady said ;
“We have interceded for leaders in this country so Shatta Wale is a small boy; he should humble himself”, he stated.
The Prophet in an interview on Kofi Tv also described the posture of Shatta Wale to his prophecy as a recipe for disaster.
“I was really pained Shatta Wale did that video, he has given the devil the weapon to act. He should shut up”.
Cee-C and Lolu have been given 2 strikes each for breaking one of the rules of the Big Brother Game.
Recall Lolu and Cee-C were “re-paired” together, and as thus asked to bond… They didn’t bond of course, which led to a serious disagreement between the two pair, and an injury sustained by Lolu. [Read here]
This evening, after their presentation, Big Brother addressed the altercation that happened between Cee-C and Lolu, and he awarded them 2 strikes each.. one more infringement of Big Brother rules, sees any of them disqualified from the game.
Big Brother also revealed that their initial partners, Tobi and Anto are spared from the “strikes”, adding that if peradventure they both (Cee-C or Lolu) survive eviction this week, they’d both be “strategically paired”, and they’d have to come up with a new pair name.
Biggie also informed the housemates that if one of the pairs (Tobi/Cee-C or Lolu/Anto) gets evicted this Sunday, then Cee-C will return to Tobi.. or Lolu returns to Anto.. But as of now, Cee-C and Lolu are both stuck together.
The housemates also won their wager tonight, and as thus, big brother promised to reward them tomorrow.. But for Cee-C and Lolu, their rewards will be different, possibly some punishment.
South Africa’s parliament some hours ago elected Cyril Ramaphosa, unopposed, as the country’s new president just hours after Jacob Zuma resigned in a late-night television address after a nine-year rule.
The African National Congress (ANC), which has a large majority in parliament, stated earlier in the day that they would nominate the wealthy former business man who became Zuma’s vice president since 2014 and it happened.
The appointment of Ramaphosa, leader of the ruling African National Congress party since December 2017, was met with anger by some members of the ultra-left Economic Freedom Fighters party, who walked out of the chamber in protest before the vote took place.
The 65-year-old Ramaphosa who, as deputy president, became interim leader immediately after Zuma’s resignation on Wednesday made his name as a trade union leader during the apartheid era and as the chief negotiator for Nelson Mandela, helping to shepherd the country out of white minority rule.

When Mandela’s presidency came to a close, he made it clear that he wanted Ramaphosa to succeed him. But Ramaphosa lost the race to lead the ANC and the country to Thabo Mbeki, another anti-apartheid leader who returned to South Africa after living in exile.
