A tweep who identified as @hannytomi, has shared on the microblogging platform X how she retrieved her phone which was seized by street urchins after it fell from her bag.

Recounting the experience, she said they already had a buyer on ground who was pleading that the phone be sold to him.

Sharing the lengthy tweet, she wrote;

“2days ago, I found myself trapped in a terrifying situation. Someone pushed me when I was alighting from bus, and my phone fell down(pov: I was not even pressing my phone, I opened my bag to give the driver money)I was about picking up my phone and I saw a strange person kicked my phone and picked it up, I was like tf is going on, oga gimme my phone na, he said I lost it and he found it that I should bring 70k to collect my phone! Haaaaaa, I was dumbfounded, naso una Dey do for this Lagos???. I was helpless coz it was just me, I had nobody with me, before I knew it, I saw different guys with stick and smoking. They insisted I must pay or they sell my phone… (Thread)

These guys removed my sim and gave it to me that I should go with that if I can’t pay what they requested for…it was like movie. A whole Ibadan sharp babe turn mumu instantly, I had no choice than to beg, I told them I will give them the 3k I had with me, they said “this one think say na play we Dey play for here” instantly one of them brought out a phone and made a call, and I heard him saying “Dey come Dey come, iPhone 11 Pro Max don Dey ground” Egbami, na my phone dem won use do highest bidder The painful part was people were passing and couldn’t do anything, it’s a fucking busy road!…..

But then, out of nowhere this aboki man appeared, he was asking them how much they wants to sell the phone. Haaaa! My own phone, it was as if I was watching limited series on Netflix . The aboki man was really begging them to sell the phone to him coz he resells..I asked them how much they wants me to pay, one of them said if I don’t have 70k I should get tf out of here, at least they already gave me my sim. I begged them that all I have is 15k. Had to beg a lady passing by for her phone so I can call my husband coz they won’t even allow me touch the phone to make the transfer to them. Omo! lya ma je mi oo. I called my guy and he sent the money to my OPay wch I used atm to withdraw 15k they agreed to collect with plenty Abeg…….. Lagos is not a real place!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really can’t get the scenes off my head! Still feels like a movie ngl”

A Nigerian man who identifies as @UOnwuvu has shared on social media how he and his wife escaped a ghastly car accident.

He shared this on the microblogging platform X, attaching pictures and videos of the impact the accident had on their car.

He said that a tanker head fell on their car while they were driving home from an undisclosed location on the 6th of October 2023.

He added that he and his wife were trapped in the car for over one hour, but they walked out of the scene without a broken bone.

Sharing the testimony, he wrote;

“I haven’t tweeted about this before. On the 6th of October, while driving home, our car was rammed into by a tanker fully laden with petrol. The tanker head fell on us, and we got trapped for over one hour. My wife and I walked out of this scene without a broken bone. I am a believer of Christ, and I have heard of miracles before. Now, I am a living miracle. If someone is in doubt of what God can do, show them these photos. For context, that’s a Totoya Corolla, I am 6’3 and my wife is 5’10. We were rescued without a broken bone.”

An uncle to the late Sylvester Oromoni who passed away due to alleged bullying from senior students at Dowen College, Lagos, has spoken out two years after the tragedy.

In a series of tweets shared on the microblogging platform X, @perrieonoromoni revealed that one of the accused uncles told the father of the deceased to forget about the case.

In a series of tweet shared on the microblogging platform X, noted that one of the accused uncle told the father of the deceased to forget about the case.

Recall that on the 1st of December 2021, it was reported that a 12 year old male student of Dowen college in Lagos was allegedly bullied to death by senior colleagues.

His uncle has now revealed online that it’s been two years but they never got justice.

He wrote;

“2 years!!! 2 years of pain, anger, excruciating emotional torment and non ending pursuit for justice. I have always known how corrupt and useless the Nigerian justice system is but I never imagined I’d experience it first hand. This boys father was told in court by one of the Accused uncle to forget about the case. Said they’ve got over a million dollars to fight and defend themselves till the world ends. An autopsy was carried out when sly died but was ordered to be done again in Lagos where not only was the result different, each of the families of Accused has their own pathologist present. We got to see how the Nigerian bar association tried to disrupt the case, how the judge called in sick almost every court date, how witnesses were intimidated and basically harassed by the army of lawyers of the 5 accused boys.”

A Nigerian man, identified as Mr Godwin Udoh, has shared a disheartening story of how the Nigerian police killed his wife while speaking in an interview in ‘Out of nowhere‘.

While narrating the incident that occurred on the 16th of September 2015, the man said that he and his family were returning from church when they were stopped by a police.

The police had stopped them and requested a sum of 2000 naira from him; however, he informed them that he does not have any money.

Another officer then asked them to go. Unexpectedly, the officer who initially stopped them, Corporal Musefiu Aremu, cocked his gun and shot at them from behind.

The flying bullets hit his jaw, spilt his right arm while the second bullet hit his wife who was carrying their eleven months old baby on the right hand side of her head and came out from the left hand side, causing her to die instantly.

He had no idea that some of the bullets had hit his wife until his kids informed him by saying “Daddy, mummy is dying.”

After finding out that he had lost his wife, he walked up to the officer who shot at them, drenched in his own blood and asked what he had done to deserve this.

The officers however fled the scene in their car, leaving him and his children on the spot.

“A sad encounter with officers of the Nigerian Police Force changed the trajectory of Mr Godwin Udoh and his family’s lives. His wife was shot and killed by a police officer. He was also shot. After he recovered, he sued the police and a court asked them to pay him N100m… Get this, the CBN then came and said the police had exactly N553,880 in their account with them so they can’t pay Godwin. I couldn’t believe it. But it’s true. My prayer remains that Godwin gets the respite he and his family needs.”

A video of a lady introducing her white friend to drinking garri for the first time has generated amusing reactions from internet users.

In the video, the lady is heard teaching her friend how to drink garri and telling him the condiments to add to make it perfect.

Garri, which is made from cassava, is widely consumed in every parts of Nigerian in different ways and it’s generally hailed for ‘saving lives’.

The video which was shared on the microblogging platform X and has gone viral captured her white friend referring to ‘garri’ as ‘jerri’.

According to him, garri sounds like a name for a person so every time his Nigerian friend says garri he repeats jerri.

After having few spoons of the garri, he suggested that blue berries and bananas be added next time when drinking garri.

His Nigerian friend however teased him that he was going to be sued by Nigerians for trying to add to perfection.

Popular Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has revealed her standard answer to certain daring younger people who call her by her first name.

She made this revelation on a podcast episode where Stephanie Coker complained about younger people calling her by her name, saying it’s disrespectful and unpleasant.

Shaffy Bello, who is much older than Stephanie, was asked if she had felt and experienced the same thing.

In response, Shaffy Bello said that she is usually quick to admonish younger people when they do that.

She acknowledged that there are instances when it might be the result of upbringing or even differences in tribes, but she always makes sure to correct them with love.

Shaffy Bello also added that aside from younger people addressing her by her first name, she can’t stand them waving at her in the form of a greeting.

“Usually my response is very simple and I say it with love.

Nigerian rapper and singer Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck has apologized to a fan, few days after tagging her as an ashewo (prostitute).

He apologized for calling the lady names while speaking in a space with @the49thstreet on the microblogging platform X.

It was reported that Odumodublvck had responded to a fan who condemned his lyrics in ‘cast’ and in the process slut shamed her.

The interviewer had questioned Odumodublvck about how he felt when people called for him to be cancelled online.

Odumodublvck responded by saying things happen for a reason, adding that the cancel culture thing had been going on even before he joined twitter and he does not believe in it because everybody’s destiny is in God’s hand.

He also said that he should not have called the lady a prostitute, adding that even if she was, it was not in his place to address her as one.

Odumodublvck concluded by saying two wrongs does not make a right and he only reacted that way because he was triggered.

Popular Nollywood actress, Ruth Eze, has stated that Nollywood actors typically experience anxiety on set, which is why they avoid eating their colleagues’ food.

She claimed that because most movie actors seem to be afraid of being poisoned by someone, they either bring or purchase their own meals whenever they are filming a movie.

In a recent interview with The Punch, Eze revealed the startling information, pointing out that many Nollywood actors do not like one another.

She said;

“A lot of people don’t like to see others, especially in Nollywood in the eastern part of the country. We don’t like one another. I cannot expose my relationship, or who I am in love with.

There is no actor in Nollywood, especially in Asaba (Delta State), that one would buy food for on set and they would eat. Everybody is scared, because of how dangerous that side is. When one goes for any production, one is usually scared. So, in order to be careful, one has to buy one’s food.”

The actress went on to say that she is unable to marry a male actor due to their unethical behaviour on set.

Eze claimed that when female fans pay performers a visit, they frequently engage in improper behaviour with them on set, even the married ones.

In her words;

“I can never marry a colleague. I can marry a filmmaker, but not an actor. If you see the things they do on set while filming, even the married ones, you wouldn’t want to have anything to do with them. Other girls come to look for them, and some even bring food.

Imagine filming in Enugu and your family is in Asaba; you would see girls bringing food to them on set. Imagine being in love with such an actor and witnessing that. The only colleague I would have loved to get married to is already married.”

A Nigerian man who identifies as @zaza_of_lagos, has shared the content of the letter his church sent to him online.

The man who worshipped at The Church of Christ, received a letter from them asking him to either cut his dreads or stop worshipping with them.

Viewing the content of the letter, the church had politely written to him to address his physical appearance to the church.

According to the letter, the man had been baptized by the church but has refused to live up to the Christian standard.

The church also emphasized via the letter that the man had chosen to ignore and disregard all their advise regarding his appearance.

Sharing the video on TikTok, he wrote in the caption; “POV: Dismissing letter giving to me by my church because am on dreadlocks.”

Nigerian singer Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, better known as Oladips, has taken to social media to criticize his colleague Qdot for spreading news that he was alive.

Recall that few weeks ago, there were speculations that he faked his death as a PR stunt after Qdot shared a post confirming that he was still alive.

After his management released a post informing people of his sad passing, Qdot took to his page to assure people that his friend was still alive, causing netizens to doubt the initial statement and express outrage.

Oladips, who resurfaced some days later, promised to address the issue at the right time and explain his side of things.

Nigerian rapper and singer Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has revealed that he would not be performing anywhere this December.

Rema, who passed the message on social media, mentioned that he had been ignoring his physical wellbeing for a while now.

He added that he would be using the period to recover from his illness which he refused to disclose.

Rema, who recently shut down the 02 arena in London, had multiple shows scheduled for December but has now cancelled them all.

Sharing via his Instagram story, he wrote;

“Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing Anywhere this December, been years of touring I’ve ignored my health; I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again love.”

In the letter shared on her Instagram page, Tonto Dikeh chastised Mr. Joseph for allegedly placing more value on monetary gains than the memory of his deceased son and the family he left behind.

She accused him of charging N10,000 -15,000 for interviews after seeing the whopping sum of money donated to his grandson, who is in the custody of his daughter-in-law, Wunmi.

Speaking further, the mother of one stated that she is not against the DNA test Mr. Joseph is demanding to determine the paternity of his son, but it’s appalling that he has not asked his daughter-in-law directly and is instead asking Nigerians for it.

In conclusion, the 38-year-old thespian urged Mr. Joseph to do right by his deceased son, who passed away under controversial circumstances on Tuesday, September 12.

Emmanuel, in a post shared via his Facebook page, stated that a man is a failure if he hasn’t considered taking a second wife after at least five years of being married to a woman.

According to him, it’s preposterous for a man to have never contemplated the idea of marrying a second wife.

He, however, clarified that he is not forcing men to choose polygamy but believes it is for the betterment of society if they marry more than one wife.”

A Nigerian nurse has reportedly been fired and deported from the UK after being reported for praying for a dying patient.

According to popular Twitter doctor Dr. Olufunmilayo, who shared the incident on social media, the nurse was found guilty of praying for a patient, which is deemed unacceptable in the UK health system.

He explained that it is considered unethical for health workers or caregivers to bring religion into their job. He added that even if a patient requests a nurse to pray for them, it is advisable for the nurse to invite a priest or cleric to perform the prayer instead of doing it themselves.

Yeah. She got sacked and deported.

For those expressing shock at the sack and deportation, let me explain further.

As a health worker/carer in uk, it is unethical to involve religion or impose your religious views on patients/clients.

It’s seen as abuse of trust and misuse of your position. You are expected to simply do your job and focus on your job.

Even IF the patient/client were to bring up a religious conversation, you should refer them to speak with a pastor, chaplain, imaam, cleric or any religious figure.

As a health worker;
You should not be engaging in religious activities with a patient/client.

If you get reported to the appropriate authorities, you can lose your job. Many times, this also means you lose your sponsorship and visa to remain in the country.

Remember your visa to stay in the country as a worker is tied to your employment. If you lose your employment- you will lose your stay in the country.

Except of course you find another job and employer- but in these kind of circumstances surrounding the sack- you may struggle to find another employer.

This is why I’m using this avenue to help create some awareness regarding this situation- especially for any Nigeria attempting to come to uk or already in uk as a health worker or carer.

Please leave your religion out of your professional work space.

A Nigerian man has caused a stir online, after he shared how he dealt with his room mate who refused to contribute for a gas refill.

The video which was shared on TikTok by @kcman18 captured an undisclosed man locking his gas in a unique manner.

While displaying how efficient the lock looked, he said “wahala for roommate wey no dey gree bring money make we refill gas.”

Apparently the man had chose to secure the gas that way because his roommate had refused to contribute financially to the refill of the gas.

He then went ahead to request for a key from someone beside him to padlock the cylinder.

A Nigerian lady who identifies as @_constancecee on social media, has pleaded with plus-size people to pay for two seats when entering public transport.

According to her, she chose to record and share the video online because of what she experienced in a public transport.

Sharing the video on Instagram, she wrote in the caption “I nearly cry😪, them press me, but I can’t say nothing. So please🤲🏽”

She mentioned that the people who sat beside her in the vehicle were compressing her because they were twice her size.

She also added that at some point it felt like she was sitting on their legs like a baby because of how tight the seats were.

She went on to emphasize that she does not have a problem with their body sizes, but they should try to be considerate, especially when sitting next to a slimmer person.
