US born Nigerian rapper, Olusegun Olowokere better known by his stage name, Iceberg Slim, says he is not bothered if people think his girlfriend, Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim, is older or richer than him.
In an interview with Punch, Iceberg said the opinion of other people on their relationship does not matter.
He said ;
“We are actually the same age and she is not taller than me, except when she wears shoes with high heels. I don’t care if people think she is older than me or she has more money. A relationship is shared between the two people involved in it so if anybody has anything to say about our relationship, they should feel free, but it does not faze us. I mean, even Jesus Christ was criticised, so who are we? Anybody can say anything about us because, at the end of the day, everybody has freedom of speech. Whatever they say does not faze us because we know what we saw in each other.”
On how they met and started a relationship, Iceberg Slim revealed;
“I met Juliet Ibrahim in Durban, South Africa about a year and a half ago. We exchanged contacts and became friends. Our friendship later grew into an amorous affair and at the end of the day, we just became a happy couple. The fact that we did not make our relationship a secret by posting our loved-up pictures online is because we are being ourselves. We chose not to follow the African mentality that you must keep your relationship secret because of the society or media. We are enjoying ourselves and getting to know each other as a couple. There is no reason why I should hide her; she is celebrating me because I love her and I am doing the same as well. This is not something we should hide.”
Nigerian socialite and popular Lagos club owner, Pretty Mike, has given the reason why he named his newly acquired pet snake after media personality, Toke Makinwa.
The controversial personality, who’s always in the news for rather bizarre reasons, few weeks ago, decided to get himself a new pet and opted for a python – and after he acquired the snake, he took photos of himself bathing with the reptile and also announced the name of the snake as Toke Makinwa.
His action of course, caused mixed reactions on social media, with many people airing their displeasure over the naming of the snake after a popular on-air personality and author.
Although, in a recent chat with Saturday Beats, the popular socialite explained why he named the python, Toke Makinwa,
“I named my pet snake Toke Makinwa because every Toke Makinwa is a snake. I named my pet python Toke Makinwa because I believe that she is not just a snake, but a huge snake – a python. And this is based on some things she talks about and writes on. There is a lot of cunningness and sneakiness to her.
“She is not your normal lady and it is time to let people know. Some people attacked me that why would I name my snake after her but the truth is that the name is patented and she does not have the right to the name. She is not the only Toke Makinwa in the world; there are so many of them. She might be the more popular one but right now, my pet python is even more popular than her.
“The truth is that we did not have any issue before I named the snake Toke Makinwa. She is my very good friend and I have seen her on some occasions. She understands that this is pure entertainment and as entertainers, we could diss ourselves in public but because we are entertainers, we know that when we are behind closed doors, we would talk to each other and settle any issue.
“We would see ourselves and say something like, ‘Mike that was a nice one.’ That is the beauty of the maturity entertainers have. We can do whatever we like in public, but behind closed doors, we know it is just for the show.
I met her once after the news broke that I named my python Toke Makinwa and the reception I got from her was nice. She just said, ‘Hey Mike, you want them to hear our voice in Lagos State.’ And I told her that it is what we are in the business for. I even plan to have a ‘meet, greet and take a picture with Toke’ I would take my python out and people would have the opportunity of taking a picture with her (sic).”
He shared his reason for acquiring a python as a pet in the first place instead of a dog or a cat like some other people would have opted for.
“I think that a lot of people do not understand the python. In our culture, we were taught that snakes are poisonous and dangerous but in the snake family, python is the only snake that has no venom, it is not poisonous. This is something I would like to educate people about. With the level of education in the country, we are still ignorant about certain things.
“I take a bath with the snake because it is my pet. I am sure a person is allowed to do whatever he likes with his pet. I take showers regularly with my pet; we eat together and go out together. It is my pet and I should not treat it lesser than I would do my pet puppy or cat. I feel like if I do that, I am discriminating against it (sic),” he said.
However, when Saturday Beats reached out to Toke Makinwa for her view on the issue, the OAP said she was about to begin a seminar and asked Saturday Beats to call back.
After about an hour, Saturday Beats reached out to her but she did not pick her calls neither did she reply the text message sent to her.

He wanted the Mo’Hits crew to perform at his show because they were people he looked up to before his career started. He made a request and they all agreed that it could be done.
Before the performance, everybody was backstage having fun and when they were through with the performance, they all went to the green room and the atmosphere was a lovely one.
I was there with them and if you had the opportunity to have seen them bond, you would not have even believed that they ever broke up. There was no awkwardness at all. It was the same ambiance that surrounded them when they were still Mo’Hits.”

A 26-year-old Vietnamese man had a penile fracture after he tried an unusual position while having sexual intercourse, prompting him to cast embarrassment aside and run to the hospital.
The man simply identified as V.V.C. was hospitalized at 1:45am on Christmas Day with a swollen, deformed, and bluish colored penis, doctors at the K120 Military Hospital in Tien Giang Province, located in the Mekong Delta, said on Wednesday.
The patient immediately underwent an emergency surgery after an MRI scan showed that he had a penile fracture, said Dr. Vu Dang Trung, deputy director of the clinic.

Doctor Hua Xuan Phuong, the surgeon in charge of C.’s operation, said the patient has recovered and is now able to urinate normally.

The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has announced the re-arrest of 14 out of the 47 inmates who escaped from the Ikot Ekpene Prison some few days ago.
The Controller of Prisons in the state, Alex Oditah, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Uyo that three-man committee had been inaugurated to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of the incident to forestall future occurrence.
He said:
“Some inmates escaped from Ikot Ekpene prison on Dec. 27, at about 12.45 p.m.; To ascertain the total number of those that escaped we have to do headcount.
“We discovered that 47 inmates had escaped from the custody. Immediately, search party swung into action and 14 were recaptured”.
The controller added that four of those who escaped died from bullet wounds when they tried to overpower prisons officers on duty, while some of the prisons officials, who sustained different degrees of injuries, were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
He assured that prison officials and other security agencies were working extra hard to recapture the remaining inmates.

Aisha, mother of ailing Yusuf and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has been placed in bed rest at Cedacrest Hospital in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

A man was so elated after discovering that his best friend of 60 years is actually his brother. Alan Robinson and Walter MacFarlane have known each other since they attended the same primary school in Hawaii.
Mr MacFarlane, 74, never met his father, while Mr Robinson, 72, was adopted and never knew either of his birth parents.
Now, they are “overwhelmed” to learn they have the same birth mother.The pair separately took DNA tests to find out about their ancestry. Mr MacFarlane used a DNA-matching website and found a top match – someone with identical X chromosomes, with the username Robi737.

A GWERU man left Chiredzi people shocked when he was caught having sex with another woman during his wife’s funeral service.
Circumstances are that the accused Luscious Chiturumani stayed in Gweru with his wife Sibongile Mthetwa who allegedly died after a short illness.
Since Chiturumani had not fully paid the bride price, it was then decided that the deceased be buried in Chiredzi, her parents’ rural community.
On arrival the deceased’s husband was accompanied by a woman whom he claimed to be his sister and he was accorded full respect as a son-in-law of the family.
The two were then given a courtesy room for them to rest as a family and they then retired to bed earlier than other people as visitors. More people were expected to join them in the room but none did and they took advantage of the situation and woke up to some early morning sex.
Claims are that just before 6am someone smoking outside leaning on the window heard some funny sounds emanating from the room which the two were resting in.
The unidentified man then decided to call others to see what was happening inside.
Unfortunately the doors had no locks and the two were found busy having sex.
A close relative of the deceased identified as Grace Mtethwa confirmed the incident saying that Chiturumani had brought disgrace to their family as the case will remain the talk of town.

“He has proven to be a dog and lacking any sense of morality. How can someone come all the way from Gweru to have sex here aaah? I had never seen anything like such in my entire life.

“We gave them a room to sleep in at around 9pm.

“At around 5am a certain man came to a place where my aunts and I were sitting saying we should visit the room where he heard some sounds assuming there was a problem.

The two were force-marched out of the room and Chiturumani was being slapped and kicked as he made the short walk to a car that was waiting for him in the yard.

A 14-year-old girl raped and impregnated by a 70-year-old ex-soldier, Mr. Shuaibu Ahmed, has revealed that he gave her N100 the first time he raped her, but that she continued to allow the old man sleep with her because he threatened to kill her.
According to Vanguardngr, Ahmed and the victim are neighbours at Ago Tapa area of Ibadan, Oyo State. According to information gathered, the man is said to have taken advantage of many other under-aged girls in the neighbourhood.
The unsuspecting father of the girl was told by a neighbour that his daughter was carrying a five-month-old pregnancy.
Speaking with Vanguard, the girl said:
“Sometime last year, my sister sent me to Papa Soldier’s house to collect some compact discs for her.
He removed my clothes, underwear and forced himself on me. I tried to shout, but he blocked my mouth and threatened to kill me. After he was through, I saw some whitish substance on me.
It was then he told me he had deflowered me and that I should not tell anybody about it. Since then he has been having sex with me and each time he would warn me and even threaten to kill me.
At times, he will give me N100 or N200. The day he deflowered me, he gave me N100. I was not enticed by money; it was his constant threats that frightened me. I could not tell anyone because I didn’t want to die.
I just finished JSS 1. I had not started menstruation when he first forced me. It was after that encounter I started seeing my period.”
It was learned that the father has reported the case at Mokola Police Station and the suspect will be transferred to the State CID for proper investigation.
The father of the girl said all he wants is justice, as he noted that he could not bear the trauma.
