Nanny caught on hidden camera violently throwing a baby into cot like a “thing”

A Nanny in Namibia identified as Laila, is facing serious charges of attempted murder, after she was caught on camera violently throwing a baby into a cot.

According to reports, the child’s mother, Annemarie Theron had set up a hidden camera in her home after she noticed bruises on her nine-month-old daughter Laila’s neck, shoulders and under her feet.

the nanny had been in the care of her nanny since May this year.

Footage captured by the camera appears to show the family’s nanny manhandling the tot, tossing her into her cot like a rag doll.

Devastated mum Annemarie told news websites Netwerk24 & Rekord:

“It was very emotional watching it. I refused to sleep, eat or drink for a couple of days afterward.

“It’s difficult to imagine how long this has been going on for. I can see Laila is so, so broken after everything.

“In July, I had noticed some marks under Laila’s feet but never suspected our nanny. In August, I noticed my baby had marks on her arms and neck.

“This was when I started to monitor the situation closely.

In the beginning of September, my husband, Johan was home for two days. He told me that Laila feared our nanny.”

Hence, the Theron family decided to install cameras.

Last week, Annemarie noticed that Laila had an egg-shaped bump on her forehead and her eyes were swollen from crying.

“The nanny told us that she fell out of her walker. If she was crying that badly, why did she not phone me?”

A friend assisted Annemarie in downloading an application that allowed her to see the footage from her phone.

Annemarie and her husband Johan informed police and the nanny was arrested on Friday.

She appeared in court on Monday to face charges of child abuse, assault and attempted murder. She was denied bail and remanded in custody until October.

Annemarie told RekordEast.co.za that the nanny requested a visit from her.

“I did go and see her. She asked me to forgive her. She said it only happened one time. If it only happened once, why all the bruises?

“My response was that I had a duty as mother to look after my children. I told her that I could not forgive her.”

Nigerian singer-sound engineer, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, has released her sophomore album entitled ‘Simisola’.

Ever since the release of the album, there has been various reactions to the song she did with her alleged boyfriend, Adekunle Gold.

The 29-year-old singer said there is no special reason for featuring only Adekunle Gold on the album.

But she failed. Woefully too. And for a long time, at the event centre, she stood, watching her dreams trickle down the drain.

“I was mostly in a daze, wondering what to do next,” she said. “I’d thought being Miss Nigeria was the best thing that could happen to me. And that dream was gone, and with it, all the great things I could have done or become.”

But she didn’t let that experience kill her spirit. Three years later, she started blogging and today is successful.

2. She once sold beer at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos

At the age of 19, Ikeji was already dedicated to making a living for herself, and so she resorted to selling/promoting Corona beer at Sheraton hotel, Ikeja. A job that required her to sometimes stand from 2pm to 10pm everyday, for a month.

“[I tried to] convince people to buy the beer cos that was how I got a commission. 1k per day…lol. It was so hard back in the day,” she revealed in an Instagram post. “I hustled so hard. Many didn’t see it but The One who mattered the most saw me and when He was ready to bless me, He took my breath away. God has been awesome.”

3. She wanted to become a TV presenter

Even though she had gone through the rigours of selling beer, and also failing to impress at a beauty contest, Ikeji yearned to become a TV presenter. But she failed to get that opportunity.

Well, here she is today. “I wanted to be a reporter or a TV presenter… now I employ reporters and TV presenters..?,” she said in August. “Instead of working at a TV station, I’m about to own one. God has a way of doing His thing. Just trust him and never depart from him as you go on your journey. And remember, you just can’t beat the person who never gives up.”

4. She is ready to move out of her Banana Island mansion for marriage

In her 2016 interview with Nation, she said she is single not because there are no men around, but because she is yet to find one who is worthy. However, when she eventually finds that lucky, worthy man, she would move out of have N500m mansion and into his home.

5. She still shows love to her arch enemies

Kemi Olunloyo famously started a one-sided war with the blogger, defamed her character on social media, and orchestrated the rumour that former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki plunged an incredulous amount into the blogger’s Banana Island home.

But when Kemi was wasting away at the Port Harcourt Prisons, begging for funds from well-wishers, Linda Ikeji was the first Nigerian to respond to that call for help.

President Muhammadu Buhari has addressed the gathering of world leaders at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.

The President pledged Nigeria’s solidarity to the United Nations and solicited the support of the UN in tackling the challenges facing the country.

“In an exemplary show of solidarity, the international community came together within my own region to assist the countries and communities in the Sahel and the Lake Chad regions to contain the threats posed by Al Qaida and Boko Haram,” he said on Tuesday.

“We thank the Security Council for visiting the countries of the Lake Chad Basin to assess the security situation and humanitarian needs, and for pledging assistance to rebuild lives and livelihoods.

“Indeed, in Nigeria, we are providing relief and humanitarian assistance to millions in internally displaced camps and those afflicted by terrorism, drought, floods and other natural disasters,” he added.

President Buhari also spoke of the efforts of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in upholding democratic principles in the sub-region.

He said through the collective contribution of member states, the presidential election in The Gambia was conducted successfully.

“Our faith in democracy remains firm and unshaken. Our regional organisation ECOWAS came together to uphold democratic principles in The Gambia – as we had done previously in Cote D’Ivoire,” he said.

On corruption, Buhari said, “Through our individual national efforts, state institutions are being strengthened to promote accountability, and to combat corruption and asset recovery.These can only be achieved through the international community cooperating and providing critical assistance and material support. We shall also cooperate in addressing the growing transnational crimes such as forced labour,

Zimbabwe Set To Ban Sales Of Alcohol During Weekdays.

The Zimbabwean government is set to enact a law barring the sale of alcohol from Monday to Friday, and to expectant women in order to curb the abuse of the beverage.

The new law will particularly target motor vehicle drivers, who will face arrest if found driving with blood alcohol concentration levels going beyond 0,08 per 100ml, The Zimbabwe Mail reports.

Former Zimbabwe health minister Timothy Stamps, now serving as health adviser in the office of the president is credited to be the sponsor of the new National Alcohol Policy.

According to another Zimbabwean newspaper, Sunday Mail, retailers found selling the drink to expectant women will also be prosecuted.

The policy recommends that alcohol advertisements should be done at least 100 metres away from a road intersection, school, clinic, hospital, church and old people’s homes.

“Policies are there to give guidance to the general populace and various stakeholders. The reduction of alcohol abuse can be done partly through the law but the rest will be through moral suasion,” the newspapers quoted Stamps as saying.

Critics of the proposed regulations have however taken issue with its impact on profitability for retailers. They say it would force many of them out of business in a country where unemployment is a big problem.

The song is about me, speaking to God (Oluwa), pleading for his blessings and grace over myself and the people around me.

The genre of music you were exposed to at a tender age is totally different from what you do at the moment: Why is that?

I was exposed to a lot of Sunny Ade, Fela, Obesere and the likes, but growing up in New York City, I couldn’t speak Yoruba. I appreciated the instrumentation and melodies simply for what it was, great music.

I played the drums and the keyboard in church, and it was the things that I learned from those songs that I replicated. I also sang in the choir, and I’d often use the harmonies/melodies that I heard from those artistes.

Why is it that international artistes have a huge influence on most Nigerian artistes than our African legends?

International artists have a huge influence on most Nigerian artists because most yearn to reach those heights, or level of success, so to speak. Many of our artists want to be known and accepted beyond the walls of Africa, which creates this telescopic mindset that “Whatever they’re doing over there, let me replicate it. Be it the dressing, slang, hair, jewelry etc…” simply put, their eyes are on a bigger market.

How were you able to clinch collaboration with the likes of Ja Rule, 2face, Tiwa Savage, the late Dagrin, Vector, Eldee, Banky W, MI, Ice Prince etc?

I was able to clinch such collaborations simply by the grace of God. I’ve never had to beg or pay for a collaboration, and I believe it’s because everyone that I’ve ever worked with has had this mutual respect for my art and talent.

I’ve been privileged to connect with these people, both personally and musically.

You seem to be well connected internationally, why are you yet to be popular among music lovers in Nigeria?

I think this is because my past, lack of consistency. It’s easy to get people’s attention, but it’s hard to keep it.

Once the spotlight is on me, and people are awaiting what’s next, that’s when I’d usually just disappear. If you don’t hear from or about Iceberg Slim, you’ll forget about him. Perhaps that may be the reason. But this time around, I’m here to stay.

Rumour has it that you are exploiting Juliet Ibrahim’s fame to rise to stardom. How true is this?

Rumour has it? I’ve never heard such, and besides, there will always be rumours when you’re in any form of spotlight. I’d never exploit anyone, for any type of gain.

That would be extremely selfish and immoral. Such behavior goes against my code of ethics.

Critics consider your accusation that Phyno and Peter of P-Square copied the hairstyle you introduced to Nigeria as a publicity stunt. Is this true?

The statement was taken out of context, hence why some would see it as such. I was simply making a reference to the Mohawk hairstyle that became my signature in Nigeria, and then I saw some artists later replicating it.

I wasn’t condemning them, nor was I looking for attention. If they were both unknown artists, my point wouldn’t have been misinterpreted, my words would’ve been understood in the simplest format.

If you weren’t an entertainer, what would you possibly be doing?

If I wasn’t an entertainer, I’d probably be an FBI agent. Growing up, I always took a liking to law enforcement, from solving crimes to bringing people to justice, I admired it all. I went to school to study Criminal Justice.

What was it like when you lost your mom?

Words can’t describe the feeling. It’s like literally losing a part of your body, you can never be the same or whole again. The day that I recorded “Oluwa” was the last day that I had spoken to her, before she passed away.

She had always encouraged me to make songs embracing my faith and background, from the church. When I spoke to her that day, she even assisted with the pronunciation of some of the Yoruba words that I used. I made that song to make her proud. However, God called her home a few days later, and she never got to hear the finished song.

Do you feel comfortable with where you are in the Nigerian music industry?

I’m not comfortable with where I am in the Nigerian music industry, but I am content because I know God has a bigger and better plan. I’m working on God’s time, not man’s.

Why didn’t you practice criminal justice since that was the first thing you studied?

I didn’t practice Criminal Justice because I had a huge battle within myself. The tussle was between Goals vs Dreams…Career vs Passion.

After two years, I left the University where I was studying Criminal Justice, to enroll myself in a music school, to study Audio Engineering and Production. It was definitely a tough decision.

How would you describe yourself: a lover, a romantic, a fighter, or what?

I’d probably say I’m all of the above, because I can romantically fight for love.

What do you look out for in your women?

I’ve found what I’ve been looking for, in the woman that I have. The three C’s…Character, Charm, and Charisma.

East African superstar, Diamond Platnumz, recently welcomed a child, a boy with another woman.

The singer who is in a relationship with Zari, mother of his two children, is said to have welcomed a child, with Tanzanian model, Hamisa Mobetho.

Photos and gist shared by Tanzanian blog, The celeb chronicles, reveal that the singer began cheating on Zari over a year ago with Hamisa and ended up getting her pregnant.

Hamisa recently gave birth to a baby boy and named him, Naseeb Abdul Juma which is Diamond’s real name – She further confirmed the story after she opened an Instagram account for her son and listed Diamond Platnumz as the father.

Hamisa has over the months has shared photos of herself at Diamond and Zari’s home which were allegedly taken when Zari travelled out of the country.

Their son recently celebrated his 40 days and Hamisa shared the photos on her Instagram page.

Diamond Platnumz’s mom and sister were also pictured at the hospital where Hamisa gave birth which is the same hospital Zari gave birth to her daughter, Tiffah.

South African DJ Beats Up His Wife With Spanner, Then Later Asks For Forgiveness. (Video)

A well known South African DJ, Komza Nhleko has reportedly been arrested and charged to court after violently assaulting his wife with a spanner.

Inflicting shocking eye injuries and confining the woman to a hospital – a video clip of the said assault was shared by the victim’s friend Thandeka Ndex Ndolvu, who said that the DJ assaulted the victim for a long time in front of bouncers who simply stood by and watched the violence go on.

“First we were attacked at Slotjile in front of five to six bouncers then followed all the way to the garage. My friend has been assaulted for the longest of time and has kept quiet because she thought that things wud change or get better but this is what it got too…. She is now lying in a hospital bed,” Ndlovu said.

The video, has of course, stirred major outrage and really is quite disturbing too to watch – worse is that it emerged at a time when there have been staggering reports of South African men murdering or assaulting their women.

Reacting to the story, the South Africa Minister Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula, called the DJ a dog and announced that he had been arrested and arraigned before a court.

Then later on, after he realized his dilemma, the DJ took to Facebook to ‘beg’ his victim for forgiveness, blamed the attack on ‘anger’, and remembered that he loves her.

His next court hearing has been set for October.

Gay Man Accused Of Killing His Apprentice For Dating Woman In Abuja.

An apprentice, Ademola Adeshina has been reportedly beaten to death by his Boss, Saramola Musa for his refusal to stop dating a lady in Lugbe, Abuja.

Musa, who is facing a homicide charge at a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Gwagwalada, Abuja, is believed to have had a homosexual relationship with the 24-year-old man.

It was learnt that an autopsy indicated that Ademola died as a result of the beating he received from Musa.

The report also showed that the furniture maker had sodomised his apprentice before his death in May 2017.

42-year-old Musa, in his statement to the police, said he slapped the deceased after he caught him having sex with the lady, identified simply as Precious, in his workshop, claiming that Ademola died of malaria a week after the incident.

But Ademola’s father, Okuneye, faulted Musa’s claims, stressing that the son died from the beatings he received from the former bouncer, who he described as a huge man.

He told Punch Metro that Musa had once informed him that Ademola was dating a lady he did not approve of, adding that he warned the deceased to stop going out with the lady.

The bereaved father said his son called him on May 3, two days before his death that he had malaria, adding that he visited him at the workshop and found him working.

He said:

“About 48 hours after, I got a text message from Musa asking me to call him back urgently. I did and he simply told me that my son had passed away; I was shocked. He said he was at Asokoro General Hospital and when I got there, I found my son lying in the back seat of his Honda Accord car with his face against the glass window,”

Okuneye said the accused informed him that his son died of malaria and suggested that the body should be buried, but he insisted on depositing it in a morgue.

The engineer explained that after returning home, he received a call from Precious, who narrated to him how Musa beat his son to death.

He said:

“The girl said she witnessed the assault and when she confronted Musa, he injured her in the leg. I asked if she was ready to make a statement at the police station about it and she agreed.

“Musa was arrested and he admitted to beating my boy because he was dating the girl. We did a post-mortem on the body and it showed that Ademola suffered serious internal injury from the beating.

“The autopsy also showed that the boy was sodomised; it was after this that we got to know that Musa is a well known homosexual in Lugbe and its environs; he had been sleeping with my son and he killed him because he was dating a woman.”

Punch gathered that the family had made plans to bury the deceased last Saturday, but the police declined to grant them the permission to carry out the funeral.

The accused was remanded in Kuje prisons by the court on Monday, while the case was adjourned till November 20,2017.

Son beats his 81-year-old mother to death to please his wife

Egyptian police have arrested a man who reportedly admitted to beating his 85-year-old mother to death after his wife complained about her. However, the man’s sister claimed he was innocent.

Zeinab as-Sayyid Mahfouz died at a hospital in Alexandria on 15 September. Reports of the son beating her to death sparked outrage on social media in Egypt, with people demanding harsh punishment for him.

Initial reports of the elderly woman’s death said the accused man’s wife had complained about his mother to him, after which he brutally beat up his mother to please his wife.

He then left his unconscious and bleeding mother at home to go out for dinner with his wife. Neighbours noticed blood draining out of the house and broke into the house to find the woman lying unconscious with bruise marks on her face.

They rushed her to the hospital where she later died. The reports also stated that the son and his wife tried to flee the city after learning about the mother’s death, but were arrested by security forces.

He also allegedly confessed to the crime to the police. However, the deceased woman’s oldest daughter, Rajaa al-Araby, told al-Arabiya.net that her mother died of a brain clot and her brother should not be blamed.

She said her mother had been living with her brother and his wife for about five years and she was appreciative of her daughter-in-law. Rajaa added that the online campaign against her brother demanding strict punishment for him was aimed at tarnishing the image of the family.

She said her brother was first admitted to the hospital for brain clot on 13 September and she died two days later.
When asked about the bruises on her mother’s eyes, Rajaa said her mother had collapsed following a stroke caused by the clot. Due to the fall, her spectacles broke and bruised her eyes, she claimed.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is constrained once again to respond to the tirade by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who as usual, made an attempt at blaming a superficial opposition for the continuous gaffe of the Federal Government under the leadership of his Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

2. We had advised not a few times, that the APC should look inward and seek solutions to its self-induced challenges in government caused by its unpreparedness for governance; but since the Party seem set for self destruction, we shall not relent in helping to expose their ineptitude to the Nigerian populace.

3. We noticed that the Minister who is much known for his unbridled capacity for constant polarization of the polity rather than ardency in the proper dissemination of government policies and information to the populace, tried once again on Sunday, to shift blames of the poor handling of the agitations of IPOB by the Current Government to an opposition that exits only in his imagination.

4. It is disheartening that rather than accept blame for its ineptitude, the APC Government has continued to blame “enemies” real or imaginary for their woes.

5. How on earth will a serious minded government blame opposition parties which they have conveniently labelled “looters” for the activities of IPOB? But we take solace in the fact that the APC might actually know the looters, as the Party has clearly demonstrated it’s penchant for giving covers to people considered as corrupt.

6. The recent release of 48 Houses confiscated as proceed of crime back to a member of the APC who was standing trial for allegations of corruption readily comes to mind.

7. Much as we will continue to harp on the one sided corruption fight of this administration, we wish to urge the APC to look inwards in locating the looters using their ill-gotten wealth to sponsor separatist agitation against the Government of the Day.

8. It is instructive to note that we are aware of the internal crisis rocking the amalgam of interests that formed the APC and the struggle for power within the Government, as the noise of discontent keep rising on a daily basis from the Party.

9. Based on the above, it is no news that APC has been a problem unto itself which has affected the lives of the citizenry who daily gnash their teeth in regret for voting the APC into power in 2015.

10. We wish to put on record that agitation for actualisation of the State of Biafra was a total silent voice while the PDP was in power because of the Government of inclusiveness we provided for Nigerians who were made to experience what a genuine national government meant.

11. The APC should therefore, learn to mould itself into a real National Party, provide good leadership for the people and let the generality of Nigerians feel safe.

12. Finally as a Party, we had condemned and we are still condemning separatist movements tailored towards balkanising the Nation. We therefore make bold to further state, that the APC policies have been the catalyst for IPOB problem, and as such, the Party should do soul searching and correct the anomaly. No external enemy so to say, is working against this government. The government is it’s own worst enemy.

2 Couples Fight Inside Walmart Store As Their Children Try To Separate Them. (WATCH)

A fight between two couples inside a New Jersey Walmart was so chaotic that young children were left screaming and trying to separate the dueling adults.

Cell phone footage posted to the video-sharing site Live Leak shows two men throwing punches at each other near the store’s jewelry section as two women fight.

In the background, shoppers can be heard yelling for the couples to stop.

During the melee two young children run up to the group and try to break them apart. The kids can be heard screaming as Walmart employees and a female onlooker try to calm things down.

A Walmart spokesman told NJ.com that the fight happened Saturday at the Union store on Springfield Road. It’s not clear what sparked the brawl.

“We cannot definitely say why the fight broke out,” spokesman Charles Crownson told the outlet.

Police were also not called to the scene because the “group scattered so quickly.”

A Lady on Facebook, Identified as Chinkata Uche Tina has narrated her ordeal in the hands of some policemen.

This was how i escaped death last night. I left ph to Enugu as early as possible yesterday morning for something very important.

And i left Enugu to ph by 4pm hoping to be in aba by pass 6pm since there’s curfew in the state but unfortunately we got stocked at ama awusa just between Enugu and Abia before Okigwe.

We were there till 10pm, Army came to help clear the road. On our way to aba, we passed so many check points without no stress. Getting close to Ariaria we were been arrested and beaten by police.

They gave me the hottest slap and beaten I’ve never received in my life. I can’t even hear well nor feed with my mouth.

Their anger is that we’re igbo’s. They said our brothers are the reason why their station was set on fire, nd some of them were killed. They kept us with them till 4am this morning, I arrived ph around pass 6.

I know some of you’ll blame me for travelling even when i knew the situation on ground, but if you actually know the reason why i traveled you won’t blame me.

Pls if you’re planning to travel to Aba, Umuahia or Enugu i advice you hold on for now what i experienced last night isn’t funny at all… Abians need your prayers pls.
