Uber Driver Love Story: Ex-Girlfriend of Uber Driver reacts, says he’s a woman beater

Uber Driver Love Story

We brought you reports yesterday, about the lovely story of an Uber Driver who married the love of his life…

But then again, an ex-girlfriend of the Uber driver has spoken out. She claims he is not a good man, as he only used her and dumped her.

Read Her Story Below:

THE UBER GUY”S ALLEGED LOVE STORY, First off i heard Shola – got married but i kept quiet because i wanted to let things slide while recovering from the torture he put me through. After Church today i kept on receiving calls and tags from my friends about the so called love story. Wow what a wicked world!

Anyway i have decided to break the silence…… I am Temile – i met Shola 2014 when he just graduated from Delsu, i was with him before he travelled to the UK at Salford University for his Masters. After their Masters, himself and his brother relocated back to nigeria with nothing but the car they bought for their Uber business. I accommodated them, fed them( he loves Ukodo’ yam pepper soup with goat meat) i did everything to make him happy. I always spent my salary before month end and also borrow money from @miss_beckiesha @chickittto just for him to stand on his feet. After a while he started the Uber business and he got an apartment with his Lawyer friend and brother at Surulere. He kept on complaining about how bad business was, i will give him money to fix his car, to fuel his car, to the extent that there was a day his car was towed at Computer village i had leave the office to Oshodi to pick up the car. He lived in a 2 bedroom flat with his brother and friend, i will cook , clean, subscribe his smile wifi just to make him happy.

At times because he shares a room with his brother ,we will sleep in the living room on the floor and he will make promises of how he will never forget all i have done for him. Along the line because I accommodated him and his brother at my company’s apartment,I was reported to my MD by my colleague and i lost my job. He started acting funny, along the line I was duped of the sum of 2million from my weavon business money by an agent in Dubai. He changed and started giving me attitude eventually I got pregnant. I was 6 weeks pregnant then i applied for a US VISA and my interview was in Abuja. He drove me to the airport after agreeing that when am i granted the visa, myself and my unborn child and him can have a better life he also promised he was going to pay my bride price before travelling.

Unfortunately i was denied the visa, i ended up crying eyes out at the embassy ,I called him on phone and told him everything that had happened. On 27th of August 2016 i came back to lagos but he wasn’t at the airport to pick me up as planned, i called him but he wasnt picking up so i took a taxi straight to his house and met him at home. Later that night, he called me and told to go for an abortion but i refused and told him having an abortion will be the last thing on my mind, he was yelling saying he doesnt want a liability but i stood my ground saying i won’t go for an abortion and i received a resounding slap on my face , he kept on pushing his weight on my petite self saying he was going to kill me and i was screaming but he kept on using his fist and if not for the timely intervention of his neighbour i would have been dead by now and his brother and friend wasn’t around. I passed out and i found myself in a nearby clinic where i was told that i have lost my baby and had internal pain in my arms. He never bothered to call nor apologise to me .

Four days later, i knew nobody will be at home, i went to his house and i took his school credentials infact all his documents, i wanted to commit suicide with it but my family members and friends begged me not to. I had to give the documents back to a friend to give them back to him after much plea from his friends and family members. He never called to apologize till date, All for me to hear that he got married. The funniest part is I still wasnt bothered until i read the trash his wife wrote about him, this was a man cheating on me with this same lady simply because things became tight and i wasn’t giving him money the way i used to. There is an African proverb that says”the cane that was used to beat the first wife is on the top roof for the second. Sigh I remember when Shola and Toju – had food poisoning i was the one taking care of them, to the extent of bathing him and carrying him to poo.

Part 3….. Remember one thing, the blood of my unborn child is on ur head , u are murderer , my friends saw through you and they kept on warning me but i refused thinking they were haters. I was the perfect girlfriend bcos i saw a future in us not knowing u were after the money . You couldn’t even pretend for a while when things wasn’t working well for me. @bigsholz i was dating you until August 27th and u engaged a lady september 21st. I got to realised that he actually wanted me to go to d US and be funding him while he is married here. I should have listened to my dearest aunty that told me to send your document so she could dump it in Los Angeles beach for me. @bigsholz Gregory -, every pain you made me go through, you will go through same in a hundred fold in the mighty name of Jesus amen! I remember when i shopped for you, @bigsholz and your brother Toju. I have decided to leave you in the hand of God , i know some people will say i am a hater but no i am not, i just hate the fact that he is deceiving his wife and also he is portraying a perfect picture of him it is so disgusting. I am pained to see myself doing this but i don’t have a choice. I had to come out and say everything i went through in the hands of this beast, pretender, he knows how to a pet a lady to a fault until he showed me his true colours. I know lots of people that can bear me withness about how u treated me. How i lost my pregnancy, keep on pretending it wont be long before u show her ur colours eventually you will. Good night everyone

Lecturer admits sleeping with his student, denies her pregnancy, says it’s not his

Lecturer admits sleeping

A dental nursing student at the Ogun State College of Health Tecnology, Identified as Mosunmola, 28, has accused one of her lecturers, Dr. Oluseyi Adu of impregnating her after he had intercourse with her so she could pass his course.

Speaking to PUNCH, Mosunmola claimed they had sex in August 2016, adding that she’s 38 weeks pregnant at the moment.

Dr. Oluseyi Adu, the lecturer of course didn’t deny having sex with the lady, but doubted that he is the father of the unborn child, because, according to him, he used protection.

“Dr Adu is the Oral Health Coordinator for the college. During my three years study, he taught me two courses each semester. I have never failed his course.

When I got to second semester, 300 level, he awarded me 38 in one of his courses. I went to his office in August 2016 to know why I failed the course. I needed to pass all my courses to be able to go for my board exam.

He asked me if I thought I could just come to the school and go like that. He said if I dated him, he would waive the course. He said he didn’t approach me in 100 level because another lecturer was interested in dating me.

The lecturer he mentioned told me in 100 level that it was either I paid him money or used my body to pass his course. Because I didn’t agree, I failed his course. I didn’t pass it until I got to 300 level.

I told Adu that I would date him, but I didn’t want to have any problem, and he assured me that there would be no regret,” Mosunmola said.

She added that Dr. Adu took her to the Head of Department’s office where it was agreed that she could sit for the board exam.

Mosunmola said that she and other students took the exam at POGIL College of Health Technology, Oke-Eri, Ijebu Ode, on August 21, adding that Dr. Adu, who was among those on the panel, gave her some of his practical instruments and a laptop for safekeeping.

However, Mosunmola said when the school bus arrived to take the students back to the school, she forgot to give the practical instruments back to the lecturer.

She said Adu later called and asked her to bring the instruments to a hotel where he lodged.

“I was preparing to leave when he called me back that I would be sleeping over with him. I met him with another lecturer in my department. I observed that the lecturer also had a female student with him.#

From the hotel, we went to different places before we finally lodged in another hotel along Ilese Road. While I was with Adu in a room, my other classmate passed the night with the second lecturer in another room.

We had three rounds of sex. He didn’t release on time. He used two condoms for the first two rounds. The third round was, however, flesh-to-flesh. That was when he ejaculated inside me,” she narrated.

She added that things went south after she stopped seeing her monthly flow few weeks later. She said after experiencing the early signs of pregnancy, she went for a test and it came out positive.

She said when Dr. Adu heard the news, he reluctantly accepted responsibility, but allegedly gave her a drug, Eprostol, to abort the pregnancy.

“I refused to take the drug because the prescription was not from a medical doctor. He came down to my place to persuade me to take the drug, but I still refused. He asked me what I wanted and I told him that I needed to change my accommodation because the pregnancy was a shameful thing for me. He told me not to worry, that he would handle it. After that, we had sex,” she said, adding that “When he left that day, I could not find my phone again. By the time I got another phone and called him, he started acting funny. Sometime, he would just laugh at me.”

Mosunmola said that the HOD, Dean of the faculty, and the institution’s provost, who all attempted to mediate between she and Dr. Adu, were rebuffed by the lecturer.

She added that she took the case to the Human Rights Office of the Ogun State Ministry of Justice at Ijebu-Ode, where a lawyer, one Kolade, called the parties for a meeting.

She said that after the meeting, Dr. Adu agreed to pay N5,000 to her as feeding allowance every month, and N7,000 for her ante-natal registration.

She added that Dr. Adu only paid the said sum for 2 months and stopped.

They went back to the Human Rights Office to review the agreement, where Mosunmola presented a list of things she needed to get before giving birth. They amounted to N50,000 and Dr. Adu said he could only provide N30,000. Mosunmola said she refused.

“I didn’t have any accommodation and I couldn’t buy any of the drugs the doctors prescribed for me. I told him I would only manage the N50,000. He left in annoyance. Since March, the lawyer didn’t call us back and Adu refused to pay the N5,000 he used to give me every month. I called the lawyer late March and asked him to help me get the N30,000, but the lawyer said I should not call him again,” she said.

She said she reported the case to the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Health, where Adu also worked.

When results weren’t forthcoming, Mosunmola said she went to the college on April 13 when she knew Adu would be taking a class.

She alleged that the lecturer assaulted her when she pleaded with him for money.

She said some people intervened and she reported a case of assault to the police at the Ilese division, Ijebu Ode.

“I am now in my 38 weeks and anytime soon, I will have my child. I am an orphan and I don’t have any of my baby items ready. I am begging Nigerians to come to my rescue. I know I have made a mistake, but I need a second chance at life. I don’t have anywhere to go. It is a church that is accommodating me now,” she said.

Telling his own side of the story, Dr. Adu said:

She was one of my students; but on a personal level, I never knew her until after they released her final results and she failed some courses, including mine.

Her HOD asked her to come and ask me if I could waive the course for her. She called me on the phone and came to see me in the office. That was my first contact with this lady. When she made her request, I met her HOD who said I should assist her. He said even if I did, she might not sit for the board exam because of the other courses she failed. So, I passed her.

When they sat for the board exam, I was surprised to see her and I asked her HOD why she wrote the exam when she had other courses she failed. He said people begged for her.

After the board exam, she came to thank me for the assistance and she asked to carry my bag and the instruments I used to conduct the exam. By the time she was leaving, I collected my bag from her, but I forgot my instruments with her.

That day, I went to hang out with my friend at the pool of a hotel where we lodged. Suddenly, I remembered my instruments and I called her to keep them well. But she said she could come to where I was and she came. After dropping the instruments, she didn’t leave as I expected and I decided not to bother her.

We were together at the hotel till evening. One thing led to the other. My brother, she slept in my room that night and we had (sexual) intercourse. This was a girl I never dated or had any relationship with.

He added that the following weekend, Mosunmola called to say she was pregnant, but later on said she was joking and only wanted to see how he would react.

He said he stopped responding to her calls afterwards until she sent him a text message saying the pregnancy had become real.

“I decided to travel down to Ijebu to see her. She brought out the test result and said I was responsible. I told her I used a condom and she couldn’t tell me that my condom burst. She said if I was afraid because I was married, I should not bother because the pregnancy actually belonged to her boyfriend and she merely wanted to see my reaction. I warned her and left.

The next time she called me, she said how would she take my pregnancy to her boyfriend, and that I should take responsibility for it. She said she would abort the pregnancy if I wanted her to, but I must rent a house for her in Ijebu Ode and then she described the kind of house she wanted.

When I heard that, I told her to do her worst, because it was obvious to me that she just wanted to blackmail me. She had been going round different places, telling people that I impregnated her. The question I ask is, did I rape her? Did I hypnotise her? You came to meet me where I was and we had fun, and now you are pregnant, and you are telling me I am responsible for a pregnancy I am denying?” he said.

Dr. Adu said he reported himself to his wife first before Mosunmola could reach her, adding that he agreed to pay the N5,000 after much persuasion from the human rights lawyer.

He however said he regretted that decision because Mosunmola turned him to a “Cash Cow” after that time.

He said before Mosunmola could reach his wife, he quickly reported himself to her and begged for her forgiveness.

“When she brought the list for the baby things, I asked her, ‘Why are you making me as if I am the father of your baby? Am I your husband? She suddenly flared up and said I should even go away that she didn’t want anything from me again. She cursed me and after that encounter, I decided to stop giving her anything,” he added.

He said that when Mosunmola came to the school to meet him, she attacked him and was about stripping him naked until he forcefully got away from her. He added that the case at the police station had been thrown out after he told officers that she was the aggressor.

“People impregnate people and nothing happens. Why is she treating me as if I had done something criminal? The worst that will happen now is for me to die. I am not a young man; if I die, people will cry and I will be done. But I also ask myself, what if the pregnancy is mine? My prayer now is for her to deliver safely and we will determine the paternity of the child,” he said.

Read Lovely Story Of How Uber Driver Got Married To His Passenger. (Photos)

Uber Driver Got Married

UBER Driver, Gregory Shola Okorodudu’s life took a new turn after he carried a passenger on the 19th of July, 2016 – a passenger, who’d turn out to be the woman by his side for the rest of his life.

His lovely wife, who is @ebiluvly, on IG shared their love story with beautiful photos. She wrote:

OUR UBER LOVESTORY

On the 19th of July, 2016 after a very hectic time at a Client’s office, I ordered for an Uber ride somewhere around Bourdilion Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. Then one ‘Gregory Shola Okorodudu @bigsholz ’ picked up my request and called to get exact description to where I was. I described it to him and asked to let me know when he arrives. On getting to me, he said ‘goodevening Maam’, he got out of the car, took my bag, asked where I wanted to sit and opened the door for me. He was like “hope you’re okay Ma?” then I just cut in, “if you call me Ma again I will call you Sir”….lol.

Shortly after, I got a call from my Bestest Nonso and we spoke for a while as there seemed to be a very long traffic that day. At the end of the conversation she told me Afam our friend got us Ribs of fire (barbeque pork ribs) with fries. I was so excited I was singing ‘Afam is the best’…my favorite meal from Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Then I got off the call with a better countenance than I got in the car.

Then Shola cut in saying, ‘sorry to eavesdrop into your conversation but did you say you found ribs of fire in Lagos?’ I said ‘yes’. He had this big grin on his face then said it was one of his favorite meal in Manchester, UK. Then I looked at him like, “You’ve been to the UK?” he said YES! Did a Masters in Petroleum and Gas Engineering and graduated with Distinction. I was in shock and he said you don’t believe, here is my certificate. He’s got his documents scanned on phone. So I was like why are you driving Uber then? He said well job is not forth coming and Uber provided him an Entrepreneurship platform so he grabbed it.

But that day in particular, his driver lost his dad and he said rather than the car just being at home doing nothing he decided to drive. I was thrilled and we got talking on and on about life in the UK and Lagos and his aspirations. Then we moved on to his present walk with God and how he’s desirous of a higher walk with God. On getting home, I said, oh! I was going to the church for Choir rehearsal then he offered to wait and take me there. I just knew I had met an ANGEL somehow.

Amazingly, we did not speak or see till about 2 weeks later when he called me to ask about my welfare. Then about 2 weeks later again I called him and we got talking regularly. The Sunday after he introduced me to his brother and then on my birthday 21st September, asked his Mum to call me and wish me a happy birthday and I was in so much awe as to how things were walking out. Then he pulled the biggest stunt on me.

While I was planning with my friend Nonso, to get a surprise cake and all for his birthday 12th December, he was planning something else bigger with her for me. Whoaaa! Yes! that evening after running around, we eventually went out to Hardrock Café, VI, Lagos, his favorite restaurant. At a point during dinner with friends, DJ played some of our favourite songs and then they brought cake and we sang etc. Then they said ‘madam the closed plate is for you’, I was like ‘ooooh whoaaa.. Thanks..’ When I opened and saw an engagement ring, I ran away with the cover of the plate….loool!! I Can never forget that moment….I didn’t gerrit!

We met families much later who accepted us regardless of the crisis both ethnic groups had faced earlier (IJAWS/ITSEKIRIS). By God’s infinite mercies and incredible purpose. WE ARE MARRIED TODAY “MR & MRS SHOLA & EBIEMI OKORODUDU.” We celebrate our Families ….oh our super mothers; brothers; friends; Sisters; Bosses; Mentors; Guardian; Pastors; Bishop; Colleague Everyone who made the entire wedding process (Introduction; Dowry Payment; Registry; Traditional & Church Wedding) super amazing like heaven on earth. We had overflow of attendance we were like Gosh!! Where did they all come from?? Indeed God’s time is the best and when God plans a thing.. it definitely ends in perfection (Proverbs 16:3). To GOD the Orchestrator of our destiny; the Way Maker; Miracle Worker & Promise Keeper; the Anchor of our hope; the Author and Finisher of our Faith; to our Jehovah Derekh HaYashar. ALL GLORY TO YOU.

A decade of barrenness as a result of low sperm count was what Mr Folajimi Dasho could not comprehend especially as this same problem had caused his first wife to bolt out of the marriage before he met and married his second wife.

Having sought for solution medically to no avail, he was advised to go for adoption of a child or remain childless for life.

At a time, Mr Dasho thought it necessary to leave his country as a result of the shame the problem of fruitlessness brought into his life.

According to him, this move was necessary and he was the only one among the adults in his family who could not bear a child.

However, this plan did not materialise due to persuasion from his mother in-law not to travel out but rather he should come to The SCOAN. Getting to The SCOAN, he was prayed for by Prophet T.B. Joshua and was also given the Morning Water. Mr Dasho and his wife afterwards met as husband and wife and his wife got pregnant. It was a surprise to Mr Dasho who never believed he would ever father a child in his lifetime.

When it was time for his wife to deliver, he placed the Morning Sticker on his wife’s stomach and ministered the Morning Water to her. To the glory of God, his wife was able to deliver their baby safely without any operation.

Testifying alongside her husband, Mrs Dasho said that she is so happy that today she is mother and her husband a father.

Actress, Awele Odita Who Got Pregnant For NURTW Boss, Fights Dirty With His Wife On Instagram.

Awele Odita

Nollywood actress, Awele Odita and the wife of National Union of Road Transport Workers boss, Koko Zaria, are at loggerheads on social media!

The drama ensued about two days ago, when the boss, Koko Zaria turned a year older and both women in his life took to their respective pages, to shower him with praises.

Each of them claimed their positions as his ‘queen’, but the wife had more words that’ll definitely hit the actress hard.

She wrote:

“Real wife not babymama,” said the mother of two daughter, adding in another post, “My enemy will be my foot stool.”

Well, the actress who recently gave birth to the NURTW boss‘ son, did not let the shade fly past her. She fired back, saying,

“Queen of all Queens. Someone just called me babymama. Kontinue. Stop jealous.”

It didn’t end there, she added,

“Hmmmm He Who GOD Has Blessed No Man Can Ever Curse.”

A post shared by ODITA AWELE (@aweleodita7) on

The family drama initially started in January after Koko’s wife outed the actress as the woman cheating with the father of her children, adding that Awele was pregnant with her husband’s child. Awele didn’t deny the allegations but went on to declare her love for Koko, seemingly mocking the upset woman with old photos of she and the man.

In March, Koko Zaria made their relationship official by welcoming Awele to his family. He also added that his wife has agreed with the arrangement.

But right now, it seems the wife wife is no longer in agreement with the arrangement… we have our fingers crossed.

Kiss Daniel says he doesn’t take advantage of his female fans

Kiss Daniel says

G-Worldwide Artiste, Kiss Daniel has stated categorically that he doesn’t take advantage of his female fans, even though some fans throw themselves at him.

The singer at a recent concert in Warri invited a girl on stage and as he crooned for her, the girl practically melted in his hands. Even though some people insinuated that the girl probably followed him to his hotel room, Kiss said the ‘act’ ended on stage.

In an exclusive chat with Sunday Scoop, Daniel said,

“I am an entertainer and it is inevitable that ladies would always come around me. However, I respect my fans a lot and I don’t take advantage of them. Some ladies could act funny but I handle them maturely. Many of the things you see on stage end there; they are all part of the show. Many of these fans are in love with the idea of who they think you are; they don’t know the real you.”

Speaking on his most memorable performance, Kiss said,

“That would be difficult for me to say because for every gig, I bring my ‘A’ game. No two shows are the same and I always want to give my fans different things every time I step on stage.”

Innocent passerby killed by stray bullet fired by policeman in Imo State

Innocent passerby killed

A man was on Friday killed by a stray bullet allegedly fired by one of the policemen brought in by two brothers battling over the leadership of Banana Junction motor park at Amaifeke in Orlu Council Area of Imo State, with their younger sibling.

Read the report by SUN Below:

The battle between three siblings over the leadership of Banana Junction motor park at Amaifeke in Orlu Council Area of Imo State turned tragic when a stray bullet allegedly fired by a policeman killed a passerby identified as one Remigius Enwerem.

The police team was allegedly brought by the Ozioma and Ozoemena Agubata group to apparently dislodge the boys of their younger brother Nkeonyere from the park.

Sunday Sun reliably gathered that the battle for control of the park between the three siblings started in February when another innocent passer-by was also hit by a stray bullet when the siblings also clashed. But it was learnt that Nkeonyere Agubata had spent his personal money to treat the gunshot victim to save his life.

It was further learnt that the two elder brothers, who allegedly have the backing of another local strongman (names withheld), were not comfortable with their younger brother’s control of the motor park. With the ardent backing of the local strongman, Ozioma and Ozoemena stormed the park with a horde of thugs and about 40 policemen led by the Area Commander who promptly arrested some of the boys working for Nkeonyere.

Recounting what happened, a source told Sunday Sun:

“The battle over the park by the three siblings of the same parents began last Sunday (May 14) when Ozioma and Ozoemena with their boys came with about 40 policemen led by the Area Commander and arrested Chukwuebuka Amadi, Onyemauche Mba, Uchechukwu Okafor, Chinedu Okafor and Abraham who work for Nkeonyere at the park. After, the police had taken them away Ozioma and Ozoemena then put their boys at the park. But when the police left, Nkeonyere returned to the park with more of his boys and sacked the boys of his elder brothers from the park and took effective control.”

Similarly, the wife of the embattled chairman of the motor park, Mrs. Chiamaka Nkeonyere Agubata disclosed to Sunday Sun that in the early morning of Friday, the two elder brothers came to their house with armed policemen to arrest her husband.

Her words: “Around 5 am on Friday, Ozioma and Ozoemena came with armed policemen to our house and asked for my husband. I told them that he had travelled but they forcefully entered the house and after searching the entire house they did not show me whatever they took. But before leaving the policemen gave me a written note that my husband should report to the SCID as requested by the state Commissioner of Police, but when my husband returned from his trip he discovered that some money he kept in his room was missing.”

She further revealed that one of their neighours had alerted them last Sunday morning that armed policemen in five Toyota Hilux vans who were accompanied by Ozioma and Ozoemena and their boys had already surrounded their house.

Continuing, she said:

“When I received the call from our neighour I told my husband because we had already left for the market at Amaifeke at Banana Junction but as Ozioma sighted him around the market he rushed at him and tried to hold him so that the police would be able to bundle him into their van but as my husband was struggling to free himself from the grip of his brother, the leader of the police team ordered that he be shot and as one of the policemen opened fire, my husband was lucky to slip out of his hands and managed to dodge the bullet which hit Remigius Enwerem, who was just passing. But instead of the policemen to assist the victim they all fled and abandoned him in his pool of blood. It was later when my husband came back that he tried to rush him to the Imo State University Teaching Hospital but he died on the way and his body was later deposited at the mortuary.”

When he spoke with Sunday Sun, Nkeonyere alleged that his elders brothers were being sponsored by the local strongman, who is being driven by greed. He implored the Inspector General of Police, the Imo State governor and the Commissioner of Police to save him from being killed as his life is under threat.

However, when contacted, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike said he was aware that the National Union of Road Transport Workers had a problem at the park and that the Area commander of Orlu had already made some arrest and that the matter was being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). He affirmed that nobody was killed and that peace had been restored to the motor park.

Sanyeri Afonja: “When I met my wife, the only property I had was my tribal mark”

Sanyeri Afonja

Very Popular actor, Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as Sanyeri Afonja has opened up to Tofarati Ige of Punch Newspaper about his marital experience with his wife of 10 years, Omolara.

Read The Interview below:

Can you recall how you met you wife?

Sanyeri: I met her in 2004 when I want to screen my movie, Okan Emi, at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos. She came there to have a good time. I sighted her and her friend from afar. I walked up to her friend and told her I liked her friend but she said I should tell her myself. So I went to her and told her I would want us to get closer but she replied that was it because I just shot a movie that made me think I could ask her out. Afterwards, she walked away. After that day, I saw her about a month later and I requested for her number. Even then, it took me a while to convince her to date me.

What attracted you to her?

Sanyeri: People always have an idea of the kind of person they would like to marry. Since my childhood, I had made up my mind that I would marry someone who is taller than me, so that our children would be of good height. So her stature was the first thing that attracted me to her. In the course of dating, I discovered that she is a nice person and we understood each other well. That convinced me that she was a good wife material.

Omolara: Even though it took me a while to accept to date him because of his profession, I was swayed by his persistence. He is a very caring, honest and straightforward person. And he is fun to be with.

How did you propose to her?

Sanyeri: I didn’t even propose with a ring because there was no money then. I just told her I wanted to marry her and I knew she would make her choice whether to marry me or not. The good thing is that she understood me and accepted to be my wife. I used to work more behind the scenes then taking care of set lighting and other technical aspects of production.

Omolara: I believe that our marriage was ordained by God. I knew he wasn’t so buoyant at that time but I felt he was someone who had a bright future and he cared about me. So I decided to give him a try and I am happy for where we are today.

What gave you the conviction that you could sustain a marriage even though you weren’t well-to-do at that time?

Sanyeri: I did not look down on myself that I wouldn’t be able to make it in future. I felt that even though there wasn’t money, we had love that could sustain us.

What was your parents’ reaction to the marriage?

Omolara: They only asked me if I was certain he was my choice and when I answered in the affirmative, they supported me. They asked basic questions like where he is from and his family background. They also asked if I was sure he wouldn’t dump me when he became buoyant in future. At the end of the day, they were convinced and they didn’t say anything negative about our union.

How easy was it for you to adjust as a married couple?

Sanyeri: There was no big deal about that because I’ve always been a homely person even though I was on the street hustling. I always spent my free time with my wife and we blended with each other well. Even when I became popular, I still maintained my lifestyle.

Omolara: Just like he said, he is somebody who is usually at home whenever he is not on set. We were able adjust well as a married couple because we already understood ourselves even while dating.

How would you describe your marital experience?

Sanyeri: Anybody who says that his or her marriage is always smooth is not being truthful. There will always be ups and downs. In our case, we complement each other because of the understanding between us. She corrects me whenever I do anything wrong and she doesn’t even see me as a star. She tells me that it is Niyi she married, not Sanyeri. I also correct her when the occasion calls for it.

Omolara: It has been a good experience so far. As is to be expected, we fight and we also settle between ourselves. We don’t take our issues to a third party because I don’t like that at all.

How would you describe your individual personalities?

Sanyeri: My wife likes to attend comedy shows because she loves to laugh. She is even more cheerful than I am. And at times, when I get too serious or if I’m lost in thought, she would cheer me up and tell me to calm down. She likes being around people, whether young or old.

Omolara: My husband’s character is different from what people see in films. Even though he has a sense of humour, he is also someone that likes to be alone sometimes so he can think deeply. It’s not like he laughs all the time and he doesn’t talk too much. He also takes care of his family and likes moving with responsible people.

How do you settle disagreements?

Sanyeri: It is very important to understand the people close to you, even if you are not married. People always have specific times that they are receptive to correction and advice. Sometimes, it could be in the middle of the night that I would call her and bare my mind. I would make some things which she didn’t know about before known to her.

Omolara: We settle our disagreements by ourselves. Whenever I offend him, I apologise and he also apologises whenever he offends me. I don’t hesitate to tell him the truth as I believe I’m the closest person to him who can do that. And I also implore him to call me to order whenever I do something wrong instead of telling outsiders. I don’t see him as a star but as my husband and I know how to broach certain issues with him.

Can you recall the first major disagreement you had as a married couple?

Omolara: Honestly, I cannot remember because it was a long time ago. Besides, whenever we have issues, we settle it and move on.

Do you have pet names for each other?

Sanyeri: She calls me Ola, which is the short form of my name and I call her Ola too because her name is Olaiya. We also call our children Ola because that’s what their names start with.

A lot of marriages don’t stand the test of time these days, what do you think is responsible for this?

Sanyeri: If your marriage lasts, it is by the grace of God. One also has to be very tolerating. Marriage is not easy. If anybody tells you otherwise, maybe the person is staying outside the country and his spouse is in Nigeria. But if they see themselves every day, there would always be friction. Even siblings who live together quarrel.

Omolara: Marriage is the coming together of two people from different backgrounds. They would have different ways of doing things so one has to be patient and understanding.

What is the importance of money in the success of a marriage?

Sanyeri: Money is very good and important. Most marriages that crash are caused by failed responsibilities. When one party cannot fulfill responsibilities, there would be problem in the marriage. There are some men who don’t give their wives money at home but they prefer to entice other people’s wives. I consider men like that to be senseless. I have always had it as my personal philosophy that I can never date a married woman. And I don’t pray for anyone to date my wife too. If you take care of your wife, you would have the confidence to correct her whenever she does anything wrong.

Omolara: Money is very vital because you would need to take care of the needs of your family. Some men don’t spend money on their wives and families but they prefer to go outside and spend money lavishly. That is not good enough.

How do you cope when your husband has to go on set for several days or weeks?

Omolara: I have known his profession since we were dating, so it’s not something new to me. He always tells me about his movement and he lets me know beforehand when he would be going to location. And whenever he is not on set, he would be with his family at home.

How do you cope with female fans?

Sanyeri: My wife has never fought any of my fans, whether male or female. Even when we travel abroad and some fans ask me to sign autographs on some parts of their bodies, she would encourage me to do so. Some of them would even hug and kiss me in her presence but she doesn’t mind. Even when street urchins accost me, she encourages me to give them money.

Omolara: He is where he is today because of his fans and I know he has to relate well with them. Ladies love to be around celebrities and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

How has parenting impacted on your relationship?

Sanyeri: I pray God would give us all good children. I like it when my children are doing well and I always give them necessary advice about life. I don’t usually beat them, so when I do that, they must have done something serious.

Omolara: I spend more time with the kids so I know their individual personalities and I know how to relate with them. I correct and discipline them when needed.

How do you celebrate your wedding anniversaries?

Sanyeri: If we are in Nigeria, we would go to hotels and spend some days all by ourselves. And if we are abroad, we go to some fun places.

How do you relax as a couple?

Sanyeri: I usually make out time to relax with my wife. On occasions like that, we would travel out of the country and enjoy ourselves.

What’s your best food?

Omolara: My husband’s best food is amala with gbegiri and ewedu soup, while my best food is rice.

What are the most memorable moments of your marriage?

Sanyeri: I always remember those times that we didn’t have much and she stuck by me. When my wife gave birth to our first child, I had just N3, 500 with me, so it was quite tough. That’s why I always say that there is nothing I cannot give my wife. As of the time she married me, the only property I had was my tribal mark.

Do you buy gifts for each other?

Sanyeri: Yes and not just on special occasions. Anytime I travel and see fine clothes, I always buy for my wife. And the dress I buy for her often fits her more than the one she buys for herself. She also buys me gifts.

What advice do you have for young couples?

Sanyeri: We could not have a wedding anniversary celebrating until six years after we had been living together as husband and wife. And what I’m trying to say is that my wife stayed with me, right from when there was nothing. My advice for young girls is that they should not discard suitors, just because the person is not rich. So far the person has potential and focus, take the risk and stick with him. There are some people who started off as rich but became poor over time. Nothing lasts forever.

NAN reports that the all computer-based testing (CBT) mode 2017 UTME, which started on May 13 in 642 centres nationwide, ended on May 20.
Ms. Nwachukwu said the examination, which took place in 28 centres in the state, was successful.

“There was no disruption of the exercise in any of the examination centres,’’ she said.

The coordinator said the candidates adhered strictly to the requirements of the examination, adding that JAMB provided all the materials required for the examination.

NAN correspondent, who monitored the last batch of the examination, reports that some parents complained of system failure in some CBT centres in the state.

Eucharia Okonkwo, a parent, said her daughter, who wrote the examination at the St Mary’s High School Ifite-Dunu centre, could not complete the examination due to the faulty computer and network failure at the centre.

According to her daughter, many candidates could not complete the questions in record time because of the faulty system.

Ms. Okonkwo advised JAMB to plan well for examination in subsequent years to avoid the technical hitches that could give the candidates psychological trauma.

Mose Mojekeh, Head, Department of Marketing at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, told NAN on telephone that such system failure in UTME was not acceptable.

According to him, the hiccups could potentially deny young people from Anambra State university admission.

Mr. Mojekeh advised JAMB to urgently collate the number of candidates affected and set another examination for them.

He also decried the practice whereby JAMB sends officials from one state to supervise examinations in another state.

“Experience has shown that such officials do not care much about the candidates when problems arise, as they leave them to their fate,’’ the lecturer said.

He called on the management of schools, whose candidates experienced the computer failure, to take their complaints to the State Ministry of Education to present their cases.

JAMB concluded the 2017 CBT UTME on May 20.

Odunlade Adekola speaks on Domestic Violence + Meet His Wife (photos)

odunlade adekola speaks

Arguably the most used face for Memes on Social Media in Nigeria, Nollywood Actor, Odunlade Adekola recently had a chat with Punch, and he opened up on his child, career, high rate of domestic violence in relationships/marriage and more.

Read Below.

Can you recall how you started your acting career?

I used to act very well in church and people loved it whenever I came on stage. Even before I mounted the stage, people would already be screaming in excitement and the cleric would then have to caution them so that everybody could hear what I had to say. It was the interest and love that people had for me that motivated me to take acting serious. Meanwhile, there was a friend of mine who we used to act together and go about performing in churches. He was part of a group that used to meet for rehearsals somewhere close to where I lived. One day, he told the members of his group that he had a friend who could act. They told him to invite me and when I got there, they asked me if I could act and I told them I could do it very well. The leader of the group then asked why I believed so much in myself and he told me to act like a mad man. I immediately moved close to him, grabbed his cloth and started unbuttoning it. As I was doing that, everybody there started clapping and that is how I joined the theatre industry in 1996. I didn’t initially know that it was different from what I was used to in church because they had more techniques, but I learnt over time. There was a time that the leader of our group invited some actors who had been in the industry for a long time such as Mr. Paragon, Kayode Akindina, Segun Akinlade, and Segun Adeniji (SAMA), among others to come and inspect what we were doing. After watching us perform, they urged me to join the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, and I became a member in January 1998.

What was your parents’ reaction to your career?

My father really liked it. It was as if he knew that I would succeed in it. But I had an uncle who used to beat me so much anytime I went for rehearsals. However, that same uncle now asks me to bring him my movies.

What was the first movie you acted in?

It has been a long time but one of the earliest movies I can recall is Faworaja, produced by Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin) in 1999.

Can you recall some of your colleagues that you started acting with?

I remember people like Tunde Oshoko, Semiu Durojaiye, Shola Odebunmi, Segun Ogungbe and many others too numerous to mention here.

What challenges did you face in the early stage of your career?

I was quite young when I started but as I grew older, I realised that all the things that I considered to be challenges are only normal things that happen as one progresses in life. There is always a price to pay for whatever you want to achieve in life.

Which movie do you consider as your breakthrough?

People always say it is Asiri Gomina and I agree with them. The movie was produced by the late Ishola Durojaiye (Alasari). That was when people started noticing me, even though I had produced my own movie before then.

Who are some of the people you admire that influenced your acting career?

When I started acting, I didn’t have any particular person that I looked up to. I just loved all the people acting then.

You are known to be versatile in the movie roles you play, how do you train and improve yourself?

I usually pray that the same mouth that the world uses in praising someone should not also be used to ridicule the person. Acting is what I do for a living and I don’t really know whether I do it well or not. It is the people who watch me that can tell. But I always put in my best. There’s no magic or special thing that I do in secret. I just believe in doing my job well and taking it serious. I neither drink nor smoke and I believe that every good actor must study and understand the script before going on set so as to get into character. It is very important to concentrate and stay focused.

Is there any role you would love to act that you have not being opportuned to yet?

I don’t think there is because I have portrayed so many diverse roles. I have acted as a pastor, mad man, driver, rich man, poor man, governor, child, woman, rascal, good boy, cripple, blind man, and so many others.

What are some of the most memorable movies you’ve acted in?

I usually remember one of the movies I produced, Emi ni Ire Kan. I also remember Mufu Olosa Oko, Alani Pamolekun, and Ila Owo, just to mention a few. However, I believe that all the movies I’ve acted in have been memorable.

Some of your colleagues complain about the menace of street urchins on set, do you experience that too?

That is a major problem we face. There have even been instances when they don’t allow us shoot at all without paying them a certain amount of money. We know they appreciate us but I don’t know where they came up with this idea of extorting us, under the guise that they always buy our films. I usually ask them whether they enjoyed the movies and when they answer in the affirmative, I tell them that means they have gotten value for their money.

What do you think the government can do to make the job easier for actors and producers?

There was a time they said they wanted to fund the industry, so we can produce good movies. Some of us who are regular producers had series of meetings then but sadly, nothing came out of them. The government needs to be actively involved in entertainment and not just the oil and gas industry. Whatever the government does not support would have a hard time succeeding.

During the past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, some monies were said to have been made available to industry practitioners, didn’t you get out of it?

Maybe I wasn’t around when they shared the money.

What are some of the important lessons you’ve learnt in the course of your career?

I have learnt a lot over the years. Apart from the technical aspect of the job, I have also learnt how to mingle with people and relate with everyone around me. Someone who is proud cannot succeed as a thespian. One must also know how to speak in public because whatever you say has the tendency to go viral. An actor should also be careful of where he goes and the people he associates with so as not to be seen in bad light.

You are from Ekiti State but you featured in a music video to promote Lagos State, how did that come about?

I’m a Yoruba person and I’m an actor. I don’t believe that you have to come from a particular state to identify with it. Besides, Lagos is a Yoruba state. Lagos is a place we are all proud of. I think that’s why they called me to be part of that project. The governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, is also a very intelligent person who loves entertainers. I have a lot of love and respect for him as well.

Has Ekiti State done anything to honour you?

They have done a lot. I get called to the state on several occasions and I always oblige them. If one is not appreciated where he comes from, it would be hard for outsiders to support you.

You’ve been relatively scandal free, how have you been able to manage that?

I don’t think there’s any actor that wouldn’t have scandals; though I don’t even know what scandals mean. We are all humans and are prone to mistakes. I would really like it if you can put it down exactly as I’m going to say this. Most of the problems artistes have are caused by journalists. Some journalists don’t do adequate findings before writing their stories. And it is very difficult to correct the perception of people about you. Many people form an opinion of entertainers simply by what they read about them in the media. And some of these reports may even be false. Even if we have grown thick skin towards these things, what about our children? Journalists have damaged the careers of lots of entertainers. Meanwhile, some journalists are also guilty of what they accuse entertainers of doing. We know some of them but we cannot just mention names. I believe it is better to call whoever is doing wrong to order instead of writing a damaging report about the person. As for me not having scandals, I can only give glory to God for my life.

What is the worst report you’ve ever read or heard about yourself?

I am an actor and if I don’t want them to write anything about me, that means I have to stop doing this job.

How do your family members react to those reports?

My family members are very wise and intelligent. They know who I am and what I’m capable of doing.

What’s your most memorable experience with fans?

My fans show me lots of love, especially on social media. However I’m not on Facebook. Most of those questions and prayers posted on Facebook are not authored by me and I want my fans to know that. I am very active on Instagram and my fans relate with me there. Whenever I travel out of the country, my fans also receive me well. Basically, there is no interaction with my fans that I don’t consider memorable.

How do you deal with unruly fans on social media?

I don’t usually pay attention to such people. In most cases, it is even some of my true followers that would reply them.

You also have some celebrity fans like Tiwa Savage, how does that make you feel?

I always appreciate them too. I always pray for Tiwa Savage that her star would never dim. I believe that entertainers are one big family, whether they are actors, singers or dancers.

You once had an altercation with some students in Abeokuta who accused you of forcefully putting off their generator because you were shooting a film, what really happened?

Honestly, I cannot remember that incident.

There was also the case of Kemi Afolabi and She Baby who dragged you into their quarrel, how did you resolve that issue?

I was just laughing when the story was published. People see things from different angles but I wasn’t involved in that particular case and I don’t know anything about how it was eventually resolved.

Not much is known about your family, why do you deliberately shield them from the public glare?

That’s not true. If you check my Instagram page, you would see that I always celebrate my family there. My fans know my children and wife. I recently celebrated the birthday of one of my children and people are still congratulating me for it.

How many children do you have?

I have four kids and a lovely wife.

What are the qualities you think a woman should have to sustain a marriage?

People have different interests and what they look out for. That a woman makes up her face or uses jewellery doesn’t mean she’s not a wife material. I believe there’s no woman on the surface of the earth that is not good; you only have to go for the one that suits you. It depends on the background of the individual. However, it is very important for anyone who wants to get married to be matured. There are some ladies that could appear gentle but become terrors after they get married.

What’s your take on domestic violence?

It is not good to beat a woman because they are considered the weaker sex. Women could prove difficult at times but there are better ways to handle them than resorting to violence.

What has stardom robbed you of?

I can no longer stop to buy things or visit some certain areas as I would have loved to. It’s not as if I’m proud but if people gather around me and there’s an accident, I would be the one to blame. There are also some discussions one might want to contribute to but you can’t because whatever you say will go viral and could even be misinterpreted. A thespian doesn’t talk too much so when you see an actor that is garrulous, you would know that person did not train for the job.

What’s the difference between Odunlade, the actor and Odunlade, the individual?

There is almost no difference. It’s just that the actor is usually on set and acts according to what the director says. And the individual lives his life away from the limelight. Some people meet me and say that I talk and walk the same way as I do in movies and I always let them understand that I’m the same person. It’s the script that determines what I would act as in movies.

Is there any misconception about you that you would like to correct?

I would like it if anybody who hears anything about me or wants to clarify some things can send me messages on social media or any other way that they can reach me. I always listen and explain things to people.

What’s your take on fashion?

I like to dress well. I don’t really like any specific fashion item or accessory; I just love to look perfect. That is the way I was brought up.

Do you patronise made-in-Nigeria clothiers or you shop abroad?

The same tailor that has been working with me for a long time is still the one making all my clothes. It is good to support our own people.

In the course of your travels, which country have you enjoyed the most?

Like I said earlier, I don’t know what is called enjoyment. There is no country I have travelled to that is not good. But there is nothing I see in those places that I don’t see in Nigeria. Nigeria is far better than a lot of other countries. If we can just have stable electricity supply, a lot of people, even foreigners, would want to live in Nigeria. That’s because most areas of the country are peaceful. There is no place I have travelled to that does not have steady power supply. Even in Abidjan,Ivory Coast which is way smaller than Nigeria, they have uninterrupted electricity. It is not encouraging for a business person to spend most of his money on generating electricity for his business.

Which places have you visited by virtue of your acting career?

I’ve been to Dubai, South Africa, Paris, US, UK, among many others.

How has the economic recession affected you?

It has affected everybody. We are all human beings; the only difference is that we are into the theatre business and people sometimes treat us specially. Everything that affects the larger society impacts us too. The prices of commodities have increased greatly, yet income is stagnant.

Has the recession reduced the number of movies you act and how much you charge?

It has affected everything.

Do you watch the films you act in?

Yes, I do. I watch them like an objective viewer. I don’t see it like I’m the one who acted in them. If I notice ways in which my character should have done better, I would note it down for future purposes.

Some people feel that Yoruba movie producers don’t pay well, what’s your reaction to that?

I don’t agree with that. The pay is reasonable enough.

Do you have any other business you’re investing in?

Acting is the major job I do for now.

But it was stated that you have a hotel?

I don’t have a hotel currently and I don’t have any plans for it. However, I don’t know if it is part of God’s plans for me. That is the only way it can be successful. However, that is what I was saying about false news by some bloggers. I don’t even know where that story emanated from. I may decide to build one in future but for now, there is nothing like that on ground.

“My boyfriend cheats on me, gave me stds, beats me..But he is rich”

A young lady who seems mentally deranged to me, has revealed her experience with her boyfriend, who she is about to marry.

In a post shared by a relationship page on Instagram, the lady reveals she’s dating a very rich Nigerian Guy who is bad in bed, who beats her a lot, who cheats a lot and has infected her with STDs a couple of time… But still, she’s set to marry him.

She wrote:

“My boyfriends lies can wake up the dead but still I am about to marry him. His cheating game has no end but still I am about to marry him. The stds I have treated is countless but still I am about to marry him. He beats me blue black and makes sure that I bleed before he let go, but still I am about to marry him.

The worst is that he is not good in bed, 1min man but still I am about to marry him. The good side about him is his money spending, he spends money on me after a bad sex, he buys me new things after the beating that sometimes if I am broke I just wait for him to hit me and my bank account begins to smile.

I change cars like clothes and financially I am ok with him. I need you all to give me reasons why I should back off from this marriage ? This is the first rich guy I have dated since I was born, the rest guys are so poor that I feed them, I have loved and over loved but it does not work, I end up losing or they dump me. I want to leave but the question is to where?”
