“President Muhammed Buhari May Return Today, March 6th” – Former Minister For Information, Nakande Says.

Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, former Minister of State for Information, has claimed that he has information suggesting that President Muhammad Buhari could return to Nigeria today March 6, Daily Trust reports.

The newspaper quoted Nakande as saying this during another special prayer session, attended by hundreds of clerics, for the quick recovery of the president that was held on Sunday, March 5 at the Jos Central Mosque

If Nakande’s information is correct, then President Buhari could return today March 6 after over thirty days in the UK.

“From the information I gathered, President Buhari is hale and sound and may come back today (yesterday) or tomorrow (today). All what is needed from us is prayer for the full recovery and God’s guidance for the president to deliver his campaign promises,” Nakande said.

Nakande was also quoted as saying President Buhari has been speaking with different stakeholders, including the leadership of the National Assembly including Senate president, Bukola Saraki, who had visited the Nigerian leader in London and confirmed that he is doing well.

Nakande said Buhari is Nigeria’s saviour from the current economic and political mess that it is in.

“It is only Buhari that can take this nation out of the mess it found itself,” he said.

Nakande’s words come just days after Sahara Reporters wrote that President Buhari’s aides are allegedly trying to get him back to Aso Rock in Abuja before the eight-week closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the Federal Capital Territory if possible.

“Some of Mr. President’s associates are mounting pressure on him to return to Abuja as soon as possible, and especially before the [Abuja] airport is temporarily closed,” Sahara Reporters quoted a source close to the presidency as saying.

“Chelseas Are Unstoppable” – Manchester City Manager, Guardiola Admits.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted that Premier League leaders Chelsea “are almost unstoppable”.

Guardiola was speaking shortly after goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane, sealed a 2-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday at the Stadium of Light.

City are now eight points behind Chelsea, who travel to West Ham on Monday night.

“It’s three more points. We are there behind, of course, Chelsea, because they are almost unstoppable,” Guardiola said.

“It’s a pity that the distance between us and Chelsea is so big.

“We started the season winning 10 games in a row, but our game was not like it is today.

“That is normal after seven or eight months together — we know each other better. I know the players better, they know me. I feel we are playing quite good.”

Guardiola also urged Sane to keep improving, if he wants to become one of the best players in the world. The Germany winger has scored six times in his last 10 games

“He is so fast and runs in behind like few players in the world,” the Spaniard said.
“But he’s just 21 years old, so the gap to become a really good player is still big. “I can say that because I was the manager of the best player in history [Lionel Messi]. That’s why I know he can improve.

“The moment he’s going to relax is going to be in another place, not on the pitch, because we want to help him. With this talent it would be a pity not to try to realise all this potential that he has.”

Police Arrests 12 Women For Selling New Naira Notes At Parties.

The Police, in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), have reportedly arrested 12 women for selling naira notes in parts of Lagos State, New Telegraph reports.

The women were allegedly selling mint naira notes to people going to parties to ‘spray’ celebrates. They are likely to be charged for contravening Section 21 of the CBN Act, 2007.

The suspects included Fausat Jimoh, Bisoye Oyegbile, Balikis Ajadi, Bisola Amoru, Abidemi Oladejo and Ajoke Suraj. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of SCIID, Bolaji Salami, said:

“It is an offence to sell naira notes at weddings or any gathering.

It contravenes the CBN Act. We arrested six suspects the previous weekend and later arrested six others on Friday. We recovered N35,500 from these suspects but N465,000 was recovered from those arrested last week.

They would be charged to court as soon as possible. Investigation would reveal how they come about these new currencies. We are going to get to the root of it because the offence is punishable by N50,000 fine, or six months imprisonment or both. No good country would allow its currency to be abused in anyway.”

An official of the CBN said:

“We know that these are not the real targets because if they don’t get the mint notes, they won’t be able to sell it. So, our main targets are commercial banks and even our staff who release the money to these vendors.

We are also going to start arresting Nigerians who organise events and allow those selling naira notes in their venues. Already, we have started arresting people who ‘spray’ money at social events.”

Xenophobia: Henry Okay, Others Reportedly Attacked In SA’s Prisons.

Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, has called on the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to South Africa to extend its fact-finding mission to other Nigerians being kept in solitary confinement in various South Africa prisons.

MEND said secret xenophobic attacks take place in South Africa prisons – It listed its former leader, Henry Okah, who is currently serving a jail term at Korkstad Prison in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa among those suffering xenophobic attacks in the country.

In a statement on Saturday by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said:

“There are hundreds of Nigerians in South Africa who are serving various prison sentences or awaiting trial. From the reports available to us, many of these Nigerians are subjected to xenophobic attacks as they are regularly singled out for harassment, on account of their nationality or arbitrarily isolated in solitary confinement, by South African prison officials.

“We, therefore, call on the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to find time to also visit various prison facilities in South Africa where they will, indeed, be confronted with the real victims of xenophobia in South Africa.”

While commiserating with thousands of Nigerians who had suffered from the recent attack, it added,

“We are constrained to draw the attention of the National Assembly delegation to other variants of xenophobic attacks which are not in the public domain.”

Oil companies in Nigeria, have been ordered by the Federal Government to relocate their headquarters to Niger-Delta – the directive was issued by acting President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, at a Town Hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Thursday, during the continuation of his visit to oil-rich region to dialogue with stakeholders.

It is expected that this will help bring peace to the Niger-Delta region, as the Minister of State, Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has been directed to begin the process of engaging the International Oil Companies on the way forward to actualize the directive, saying “I think it is the right thing to do.”

“Buhari Has Stayed In London Longer Than Expected” – APC.

Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party, has acknowledged that President Muhammadu Buhari has been away from the country longer than expected.

The party’s spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, said this at the end of their National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, which had some Governors in attendance.

He, however, commended Buhari, for transferring power to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, before his departure.

“The national working committee (NWC) of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Thursday met with governors elected on the platform of the APC,” Abdullahi said.

The national chairman reviewed the state of the party, x-raying the challenges facing the APC in relations to funding and financing.

It was agreed that the party is not effectively funded as it should be. A new funding mechanism was therefore devised based on a planned continuous membership registration exercise across the country. The meeting agreed that this is the only sustainable way to fund the party.

The meeting also discussed the situations in some of the state chapters of the party, and it was agreed that an effective conflict resolution mechanism will be put in place to stem the tide of internal dissension and resolve existing issues.

As we near the midterm, the meeting also resolved to launch a project to showcase the accomplishments of APC governors in all the 24 states controlled by the party.

The upcoming non-elective convention was also discussed and it was agreed that the convention will take place on April 29.

The meeting acknowledged that the president, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari has been away longer than was originally envisaged.

The meeting however, commended the president for following the rule of law by allowing the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to assume proper leadership and by so doing saved the country the kind of trauma that was experienced in the past”, he stated.

Buhari has been on medical vacation in the UK since January 19.

Tobiloba Adebiyi, heartbroken mother of 3-year-old Oluwasemilore, who was kidnapped by her mum’s apprentice, Mary John, a mother of one from Cross River State, who specializes in stealing children and selling to families without kids, has narrated how the suspect was arrested.

According to Tobilola, Mary John whose real name is Gladys Austin, barely spent one week as an apprentice at Alagbado in Lagos State, before she kidnapped her daughter, who was sold to 4 different buyers before being rescued by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

“After she was arrested in Badagry, she said she had been paid N60,000 for the job before coming to my house and she had planned to kidnap two of my children. But she couldn’t because I had
said if she didn’t come with a guarantor by Monday, she should not come to work.

After she kidnapped Oluwasemilore, she left for Anambra by a bus the same day, and she sold her to an elderly woman, telling the woman that my daughter belonged to a prostitute who wanted to get rid of the girl.

The woman buys new babies and resells to families without children. The policemen asked her to call the woman that she had another child to sell. When she did, the woman asked her if it was a ‘trouser’ or ‘skirt’, which was a code name for a boy or girl. We decided to give her my son as bait.”

Punch reports that she went further to disclose that those who bought her daughter, were inflicted with strange illness;

“Those people said when the child got to them, they became sick and their business started failing. Within one month, my child had been sold to 4 different families. The 4th woman was wealthy and despite falling sick, she decided to keep her and enroll her in a new school. 4 suspects have arrested in connection with the kidnapping,”

Abdirahman Ismail, who bears same name as the groom, has been arrested for posing as a bridesmaid at a recent traditional wedding in Somalia, and also staying with the couple for 3 weeks.

The shocked groom, who is planning to divorce his wife for the embarrassment she caused him, disclosed that he never knew the impersonator was a man, as he wore a makeup that concealed his identity.

However, his identity was busted by a lady who claimed to be his mother;

‘A woman claiming to be his mother came to our house and asked if we have seen her son named Abdirahman. I told her we have never seen her son and the only person living with us was a girl named Asma.

‘That’s when the woman told me that Asma is actually her son, Abdirahman’ he said.

The emotional 47-year-old mother of 9-year-old twins, said she’s knows it could have been something different for her, as she’s aware she’s blessed to be a mother. According to her, her kids made life so much better.

A source close to the Churchill family has described as laughable, the claims by the actress that she had bought her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill, the vehicles they were driving.

According to the source, who chose to remain anonymous, Churchill is in possession of the keys and documents of the cars.

“If she really did buy them, she should have taken the keys and receipts when she was leaving. No one knows why she is doing what she is doing. Maybe, she is using their son as bait and as a means to get sympathy from the people on social media,” the source said.

Continuing, the source claimed that the actress wanted her foundation merged with her husband’s Big Church Foundation, but bearing her name.

“That was why, last year, after the Big Church Foundation had organised its work, the Tonto Dikeh Foundation organised its own too. She did that because she wanted the NGOs to be joined together and handed over to her, so that she can use her celebrity status and run the whole show. Churchill, on the other hand, was passionate about the whole thing, as a way to help the masses and did not want it to be hijacked by someone who just wanted it for show,” the source continued.

The source further stated that when things got to a point where Churchill could not condone it any further, she boasted that she would use her overwhelming influence on social media to drag his name to the mud, then rubbish his foundation.

The source also said that there is no truth to the report that Churchill ever assaulted her as he never laid a finger on her.

Vile Husband And Father-In-Law Burns Wife’s Face And Genitals Because She “Answered An Unknown Call”. (Photos)

A woman was horrifically branded with hot tongs by her husband and father-in-law after she was suspected of having an affair. Jhamku, 22, was brutally burned all over her body all because she answered the phone to an unknown caller, according to reports.

After overhearing the conversation, her husband of two years Bhagga Gameti and his father Lehri Lal, are alleged to have taken the phone and spoken to the caller.

Failing to identify him, the men suspected Jhamku of having an affair and launched a brutal attack, beating her with sticks and then burning her legs, face, chest and genitals with hot tongs, Times of India reports.

Bhagga was arrested on Wednesday evening by police in Udaipur, India. Om Kumar, the police officer handling the case, said:

“We have arrested the husband and will arrest the other accused if he too is found guilty during the course of investigation.”

EFCC Recovers Jewelries Worth Millions From Former NSA In-Law’s Residence. (Photos)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered jewelry worth millions of naira from the house of one Akka Babba Danagundi, brother-in-law to a former National Security Adviser to the late President Umar Musa Yar’aduwa, Major General Abdullahi Sarki Mukhtar.

The jewelry was found in a fireproof safe hidden in a house belonging to one Akka Babba Danagundi at No. 375, Gwangwazo quarters of Kano Municipal, Kano State.

About 50 documents in respect of landed properties bearing the name of the former NSA and his wife, Binta Sarki Mukhtar were also discovered.

The discovery was sequel to an intelligence report alleging that huge sums of money including foreign currencies were hidden in the premises.

During the operation, Aiko Fireproof safe and seven suspects including the house owner, Danagundi were arrested and brought to EFCC’s Kano Zonal Office where their statements was taken.

On arriving at the commission’s Kano Zonal Office, the safe was opened and several pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces and wristwatches, including 50 Certificates of Occupancy for properties located in Kano, Kaduna and Abuja, were found.

Among the jewelry recovered were 55 wristwatches, including three gold watches. Also 37 pieces of gold weighing 1,907.9g and another 15 pieces of fashion jewelry were found.

All the suspects arrested during the operation were released on administrative bail with the exception of Danagundi, who is still in custody assisting the investigation.

Zimbabwe Bans The Beating Of Children.

Zimbabwe’s High Court has outlawed corporal punishment for children both at school and in the home.

The ruling comes after a parent complained that her child in grade one, a class for six-year-olds, had deep bruises after a beating by a teacher.

Linah Pfungwa said her daughter had been punished for failing to have her reading book signed by guardians as proof she had done her homework.

The constitutional court will have to confirm the judgement.

The BBC’s Shingai Nyoka in the capital, Harare, says if upheld, it would transform the way parents have disciplined their children for centuries in the southern African country.

Some parents are criticising the ruling, while rights groups says it is long overdue, she says.

Ms Pfungwa, who filed her application with support from the Justice for Children’s Trust, said her child was severely assaulted with a rubber pipe.

“My child suffered major bruises and I took photographs and pictures… She had deep bruises on her back and she could hardly sleep properly,” the state-run Chronicle newspaper quotes her as saying.

“I posted the pictures of my daughter on our WhatsApp group for other parents to observe and it turned out that other children had also been assaulted.”

In her application, Ms Pfungwa said that children should not be subjected to any form of violence and such corporal punishment breached their rights under Zimbabwe’s Constitution.

She argued that other forms of discipline should be used for children.

“If my child misbehaves, I ground her by denying her access to television as well as denying her pocket money or other goodies like sweets and presents,” she said.

“If she does well, I reward her by presents or extra hours of watching television.

“My child is well-behaved and well-brought up simply as a result of the dialogue that I use as a means of discipline.”

The first evicted housemates of the Big Brother Naija: See Gobe house, Miyonse and Soma are both photoed as they pose with a quite busty female fan after alighting their flight.

The duo were the first two evicted housemates from the big brother house weeks ago – housemate, Bisola has said if anyone was to be brought back to the house, she’d wish for Soma to be one of them.

They have so far, since their eviction been on the news, following their media tour and their modelling campaign for an underwear line.

A member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf, on Thursday declared that if President Muhammadu Buhari is sick then Nigeria as a whole is also sick.

Yusuf representing the Ijumu/Kabba-Bunu Federal Constituency of Kogi State made the declaration during a prayer session for the quick recovery of the President.

The Prayer session which lasted for about two hours was attended by seven members of the House and was presided over by Yusuf.

Speaking, Yusuf said “when the president is sick, Nigeria is sick. Praying for the leaders is Biblical in His commandment.”

Buhari, who is yet to return from his trip, recently sent a letter to the National Assembly informing of his decision to extend his stay to enable him receive medical results.

Last week Tuesday, the President through his media aide, Femi Adesina, revealed that series of medical check-ups he carried out in the cause of his vacation had necessitated his prolonged stay in London.
