The Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Governors’ Forum of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has knocked the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police for planning to stop a protest for good governance by a musician, Mr. Innocent Idibia, a.k.a. 2 Face.
Also, a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, has said nothing, including the police, can stop the planned peaceful rally being organised by the musician.
The rally, which 2face planned to lead in the Lagos metropolis next Monday, is to protest against the current economic hardship being faced by the masses.
But in a statement on Thursday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, said the police would not allow the rally to hold, because it could easily be hijacked by miscreants.
“We know that 2face does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,” Owoseni said.
In response, Governor Fayose said that the police’s stand was a ploy to stop a legitimate civil act.
In a press statement issued by the Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the governor said,
“Leadership is about accountability. To be accountable, leaders must listen to public opinion either by civil and peaceful protest.
“The court of appeal’s judgment in the ANPP vs IGP allows for such protest or gathering without police permit or interference as in advanced democracies. The protest is said to be for and about good governance. So, who is afraid of the protest? Who do the police represent in this issue?
“Nigerians are hungry and angry, our currency is above N500 to a US dollar.
“Nepotism, extrajudicial killings, disobedience to court order and human right abuse must stop. The conscience is an open wound and the guilty is afraid.”
Adegboruwa, who had earlier said he would join the 2face rally, also said the police did not have any legal backing to stop the protest and urged the police CP to study his copy of the Nigerian constitution before coming out to make such a statement.
Adegboruwa said Owoseni’s statement was an attempt to intimidate Nigerians who wish to partake in the rally, adding that it could never deter “we, veterans, and indeed the deprived, oppressed and hungry people of Nigeria.”
Vowing that the rally could not be stopped, Adegboruwa urged
“the good people of Nigeria, especially those who reside in Lagos, to join us en mass at Ikeja, for the rally on February 6, 2017.
“We cannot be intimidated in our own country, by the same people who are paid to protect us.
“…So, come rain or shine, we shall hold the rally on Monday, as scheduled, because it is illegal for the police to seek to ban a lawful assembly.”
A septuagenarian has revealed he has slept with over 2,000 women – double that of Playboy boss Hugh Hefner who claimed to have bedded 1000 women.
Lothario Chris Culleton says he has been a ladies’ man all his life and has bedded an astonishing 2,084 partners – the equivalent of 33 a year if he started at 16-years-old.
Chris claims he met many of the women he’s been with while working as a music promoter bringing bands to Warrington in Cheshire.
According to Daily Mirror, he says he was such a romantic he turned down jobs with the Rolling Stones and Radio Caroline because of love.
But after decades of playing the field he says he is now giving up dating to take up FISHING instead – saying ‘women are too much trouble‘.
Chris, of Longford, Cheshire, was given his nickname the ‘Longford Lover’ by local policemen who used to see him with different girls.
He said:
“I had this reputation – it wasn’t all me I was pursued a lot.
”I had this reputation as a bit of a ladies’ man because I was always seen coming home late at night after I’d dropped a girl off.
”When I was working at Marks and Spencer, I met this trainee manageress, a Swedish girl. I was a porter then and they were all jealous when she went out with me.
“I was walking out of a hotel and there were two policemen outside and they said ‘oh look it’s the Longford Lover’. And it stuck.”
The pair married and had a child together, but got divorced in the 1970s after the relationship went sour.
But the grandfather of two now spends his days fishing and is proud president of the SHAG club, Stockton Heath Angling Group. He says he gave up dating at the age of 77 because ‘women are too much trouble‘.
However it all changed when he met the mother of his son, who would later break his heart.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail in the sum of N100m to Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, a son of a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Bala Mohammed Bala.
The defendant who was on Wednesday remanded in Kuje Prison after he was arraigned on 15 counts of N1.1bn money laundering offences, is to, among other bail conditions, provide two sureties to enter into N50m bail bond each.
Justice Nnamdi Dimgba ruled on Friday that the defendant, who was produced in court handcuffed by prison officials on Friday, should remain in custody pending when he would meet the bail conditions.
Shamsudeen is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly paying millions of naira on different occasions totalling about N1.1bn for the purchase of houses without going through financial institutions.
The act was said to be in breach of Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act. Justice Dimgba on Friday ordered an accelerated hearing in the case and fixed March 27 and 28 for commencement of trial.
A Nigerian Youth Service corp member sent to serve in the Eastern part of the nation has recounted how she and her colleagues from the North were taunted by the principal and students of the school they were posted to.
According to her, she harassed daily with distasteful comments by people from that part of the country, asking her things like, “why is she covering her hair?, Does she want to bomb this place?“.
A chicken roost built by a Lagos resident, Segun Irein, has landed his family into trouble. Segun and his wife, Sola, allegedly beat their neighbour, Idowu Solaja, to death over the roost at their house on Babs Lawal Street in the Ikorodu area.
PUNCH Metro reports that Idowu, a chartered accountant, whose house backed the roost, had complained to the couple that he was being disturbed by the chickens. Instead, the Ireins allegedly attacked him.
The victim was later taken to a hospital by residents but he died shortly after.
His corpse was deposited in a morgue while the couple were arrested by the police. The late 51-year-old was responsible for the welfare of his wife and four children.
Punch visited the community on Thursday and met a crowd of residents and landlords discussing the death.
An in-law to the deceased, Jimoh Ayandokun, said Segun was first rearing pigs, adding that after a series of complaints by the victim, he stopped the business. He said:
“Idowu had complained several times about the smell of the pigs. It took nine months and the intervention of the landlord association before he stopped rearing the pigs.
“After that matter was resolved, there was peace in the community and in December 2016, when the suspect’s wife had a party, the deceased attended.”
The deceased elder sister, who did not want to be identified, said Idowu had taken one of his children to school on Monday when he saw some chickens being fed in the roost at Segun’s house.
She said,
“He went to the house and knocked at the door repeatedly, but nobody answered him. He banged harder and the man’s wife, Sola, came out and asked him what he wanted from them again.
“Idowu insisted on speaking to her husband. The man came out and they started exchanging words.
“Because the doorstep was elevated above the ground where Idowu stood, it was easier for Segun to grab Idowu by the neck.
“In the ensuing scuffle, they both fell down. The wife picked a stone and hit Idowu in different parts of the body.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that a passerby, who saw the incident, raised the alarm as residents rushed to the scene to separate them.
The victim, who was drenched in blood, drove himself to the Igbogbo Police Division where he reported the attack. He was reportedly issued a letter to go to a hospital for treatment.
Segun attempted to flee the community, but was held back by residents
“But he later disappeared through the back door.
“His wife, however, assured us that he also went to report at the Igbogbo division,” a landlord, who did not identify himself, said.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Idowu was treated and given some drugs for the injuries he sustained in the eyes. He was reportedly called by some residents, who appealed to him to drop the case against the couple.
He allegedly left the hospital for the police station, where he wrote a statement to withdraw the case.
However, shortly after he got home, he allegedly slumped and died.
“He was screaming, ‘ I hope I am not about to die’. This was around 8pm. He then collapsed. We put him in his Toyota Corolla and drove him to a private clinic in the community, where the doctor confirmed him dead.
“We took the corpse to the police station and the couple were arrested. We suspect that he was stabbed with a poisoned sharp object during the fight,” another resident said.
The victim’s wife, Modupe Solaja, who said they had been married for over 20 years, called for justice. Modupe said she had yet to inform their first child who was an undergraduate at the Adeleke University in Osun State.
“My husband was planning to pay her school fees of about N1.2m this weekend. I am a full time housewife. How will I cope with the school fees of four children? Don’t let me suffer for nothing,” she said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.
She said,
“The man became unconscious after the fight and was rushed to a hospital where he eventually died. The two suspects are in custody, while the corpse has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.”
Lagos state Police command have apprehended an employer for dehumanizing his staff, tied his hands and legs to the back and transporting him to Abuja like that on Hilux.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has faulted the Lagos police over its position that it will not allow the planned protest against the Federal Government slated for February 6 to hold in Lagos State.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose noted that the APC-led federal government must be made to understand that “leadership is about accountability. He said;
“The duty of the police to secure Nigerians is mandatory, and not optional. Therefore, if there is any intelligence report suggesting the possibility of criminals hijacking the process, it is the duty of the police to provide security cover for the protesters. Court of Appeal affirmed in its judgement in Inspector General of Police Vs All Nigerians Peoples Party that protest or gathering do not require police permit or interference as obtainable in advanced democracy.
Most importantly, the protest is said to be for and about good governance. So who is afraid of the protest? Who does the police represents or is representing in this issue?”
Nigerians are hungry and angry, our currency is now above N500 to $1. If Nigerians want to show their anger, no one should prevent them. Nepotism, extra judicial killings, disobedience to court order and human rights abuses must stop.
The conscience is an open wound and the guilty is afraid. If the APC-led Federal Government is now acting as if the protest is against it, it means the federal government has accepted to be guilty as charged.
Like I said before, I support the protest.”
Twitter user, Ekwelike Stanley shared photos of himself with BBN housemate, Gifty, – who has been dubbed as the modern day Lilian Bach, fine for face, ugly for mouth – sharing a bed together.
According to him, he saw “his girl” kissing another guy on the show and hope she still has love for him, saying he would have done the same cause money is involved.
But after a check on his bio, which shows that he is an actor, this just might be a joke cause Gifty is an actress, and the moments he shared just might have been when they were on a movie set.
The actress and mother shared the lovely photo above of her and her significant half and captioned it:
“I connect to the LOVE in your conscience.. the power in your words are so inspirational…your lifestyle na spirituality..one way or the other you have influenced my life and others.. Police have launched an investigation after a woman filmed herself performing a sex act on a man inside a courthouse and posted the video on Twitter.
After sharing the explicit clip online the 26-year-old woman boasted that it was to get her out of trouble without revealing what kind of trouble she was in.
The 34-second video showed a sex act on a bench in a corridor outside a courtroom, but has been deleted from the woman’s Twitter account.
The shocking incident occurred during business hours at the Duval County Courthouse in Jacksonville, Florida, and the mobile phone footage was posted online on Tuesday, News4Jax reported.
The woman wrote on Twitter: “Had so much fun at court today. Found a way to get my charges dropped…. Ssssssh don’t tell.”
A police report said the sex act was captured by CCTV and consisted of a man and woman engaging in what appeared to be inappropriate behaviour on the fourth floor of the courthouse.
The woman was at the courthouse for a 9am arraignment on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, smuggling contraband into jail and violation of probation.
Court records show she pleaded no contest, News4Jax reported. Police have identified the man in the video, the report added.
A Nigerian twitter user shared the above photo of a car sticker’s which says that pigs are better than men. It reads:
MEN ARE NOT PIGS Pigs are gentle, sensitive and intelligent animals
A woman for sure must be the owner of that ride and she obviously must have been hurt by “men” if not just a man… well, I beg to differ, cause pigs eat their children, men don’t! *spits on the ground!*

A Kenyan gospel artiste, Eunice Njeri, dropped a bombshell on her fans yesterday after she announced her marriage to husband, rapper Isaac Bukasa ended hours after the wedding.
Ms Njeri and rapper Isaac Bukasa aka Izzo got married on the 27th of November, 2016 in the United States and photos of the ceremony were shared online by their family and friends.
The couple dated for two years before walking down the aisle and announced their engagement on September 19 via Instagram. They later had a pre-wedding in the US where Izzo’s family lives before their grand wedding on the 27th of November, still in the US.
However, according to the gospel songstress, at the end of the wedding day, she realized her heart was somewhere else and so never signed her wedding papers.
She broke the news on her social media accounts, yesterday Wednesday, February 1, 2017, two months after she walked out of the marriage saying:
“On the 27th Nov 2016, Isaac and I did go to the altar to get married, but at the end of that day I realized one thing, I couldn’t do it my heart was somewhere else.
“Probably in Africa doing what I do best, am still trying to figure that out. I immediately left for Kenya and have been serving God the best way I know how.
“To all who supported Isaac and i am grateful may God bless you immensely. To all who were hurt in the process I apologize. The marriage was annulled (like it never happened). No papers were signed.
“Afterwards and we both made a decision to go our separate ways. I hope for your support and help as we move on. Like every other relationship we hit a rock, maybe a little too early but have since overcome.
“Consequently, we have decided to go our separate ways and hope for the very best. God bless you.”
Her husband Isaac Bukasa hasn’t officially reacted to the announcement yet but a week after their wedding in November, he had sent his estranged wife a lovely message on Instagram showing his love for the singer.
“Only God knows how much this woman means to me,” he said in the post. “The best thing that happened to me this year. Oh, please don’t tell her.”
Njeri on the other hand has deleted all posts about him on her Instagram page while Izzo still has several posts about her on his page.

A young mother dropped her baby 40 feet to its death after she tripped over her outfit on an escalator – the horrifying incident took place in the O’zbegim shopping centre in the city of Andijan, in east-central Uzbekistan.
Footage from security cameras in a shopping centre in Uzbekistan shows the woman in a long dress and a headscarf coming down an escalator with a baby in her right arm and holding an older child with her left hand.
It looks like the dress gets stuck in the escalator, causing her to stumble down the steps and the child to fall out of her arms and over the side.
It is reported that the height the baby fell from was equal to that of a four-storey building, typically 40 feet, and onto the tiled flooring below. The baby died on impact.
Emergency crews who rushed to the scene were unable to save the child’s life.
The video has been shared locally online and the distressing images have caused world-wide compassion for this poor mother.
A husband has jilted after allegedly chopping off his wife’s two ears in Afghanistan – his 23-year-old victim described to the BBC how her husband tied her up and cut off both her ears in a domestic violence attack in the northern province of Balkh.
The woman – Zarina – is now in a stable but traumatised condition in hospital.
“I haven’t committed any sin,” she said. “I don’t know why my husband did this to me.”
Zarina told Pajhwok news that the unprovoked attack took place after her husband suddenly woke her up at midnight and attacked her and cut off her ears with a knife.
She was married to him at the age of 13, and told BBC that “relations with her husband were not good“.
Zarina also complained that her husband had tried to prevent her from seeing her parents in another interview with Tolo News. She said she no longer wanted to remain married to him.
“My husband always treats me badly. I wasn’t even allowed to visit my parents. He is a very suspicious man and often accused me of talking to strange men when I went to visit my parents,” she said.
Zarina has called on Afghan legal and judicial institutions to arrest her husband and to ensure he is prosecuted. They are investigating the incident, but the accused remained at large.
Mazar-i-Sharif public hospital head, Dr. Noor Mohammad Faiz, said the woman was delivered to the hospital on Tuesday morning. He said the woman’s ears had been cut off and she was in trauma, however, her condition was stable.
Zarina’s account is the latest in a series of high-profile domestic abuse incidents and cases of violence against women in Afghanistan.

Debonair Nollywood actor and model IK Ogbonna’s Colombian wife, Sonia Morales in a new Instagram post revealed the one thing she hates about Nigeria.
She shared the text image above and wrote:
“The only thing I ever hated about Nigeria was tribalism. It upsets me deeply. Professor Akindele Adetoye was the first to oppose 2Baba’s nationwide protest and openly slammed him with a derogatory statement about impregnating all kinds of girls without condoms, here.
According to the professor, his initial post about the singer had incurred the wrath of his friends and Nigerians. He has now realized he was harsh and wrong and for that, he’s sorry.
He writes:
Good day brethren, I put up an update yesterday that incurred the wrath of some of my friends and the population at large for what some considered its harshness to another member of the Nigerian community. In hindsight I believe I was indeed harsh. I believe I am wrong to have come at him in the manner in which I did. He’s in love with our nation like I am and like the rest of us. It was in finding a lasting remedy to our national malaise that I believe my passion took the best of me, and it was in that regard that I erred. I apologize for that and I apologize to those whom my update affected in any manner. I was wrong and I am sorry. Thank you and God bless you all.
