Sarah Kuteh, a nurse with 15 years’ experience has been sacked after discussing Christianity and offering to pray with patients before operations. She was dismissed, weeks ago, for breaching guidelines.
The mother-of-three said she was offering solace to patients she believed were happy to chat about their beliefs, and described her sacking as ‘disproportionate and punitive’.
Mrs Kuteh broke down in tears as she recalled being suspended and escorted from Darent Valley hospital in Dartford, Kent.
She said: ‘It was embarrassing for me – and painful after all I had done in my years as a nurse. I was told I couldn’t even speak to my colleagues. All I had done was to nurse from my heart. How could it be harmful to tell someone about Jesus?’
But bosses at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust said her ‘unwanted discussions’ had upset patients and she had also failed to heed warnings that she was being unprofessional.
The Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions has warned Nigerians that the ponzi investment scheme, MMM, is a pyramid that would soon burst.
Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, Chairman of the committee, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim and other members of the committee alerted Nigerians to the dangers of investing in MMM.
He said:
“Any Financial institutions of any kind that is not under the regulation of a Regulator such as MMM is a pyramid that will soon burst. We engaged the CBN and they have issued a statement in the recent past. So Nigeria should be wise and know that there is no free money anywhere. One wonders which investment can yield 30% flat any where in the world,”
For Senator Gbolahan Dada, APC, Ogun West, “It is important for members of the Public to know this fact. MMM was a Russian company founded in 1989. The company was established by Sergei Mavrodi, his brother named Vyacheslav Mavrodi, and Olga Melnikova. The name of the company was taken from the first letters of the three founders’ surnames. MMM could be called a wonder bank. Over 5 to 40 million people lost up to $10billion in the 90s when it was introduced. The company was shut down by Russian Police in 1994 and declared bankruptcy in 1997.
“It is unfortunate that some unscrupulous Nigerians are capitalizing on the current economic hardships to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians by encouraging them to part with their hard earned money with mouth-watering interest or returns.
“MMM does not contribute or add value to the economy because the records of such transactions are not kept and not made open to the public or regulatory authorities. It is a product of fraud and nothing good comes from fraud.
“The operator pays returns to the investors from new capital acquired from new investors and not from legitimately earned profits. The operators entice investors with mouth watering offers. The short term returns are abnormally high and unusually consistent. They may struggle to pay the first returns but would bolt away with subsequent capital or deposits made by investors.”
Speaking about the financial implications of investing in MMM, Dada said,
“The money involved in MMM are usually spent by the promoters on frivolities. The promoters engage in ostentatious lifestyles. They hardly have concern for the unsuspecting investors. It is fool hardy for any members of the public to fall prey to the scheme despite warnings from stakeholders. Those patronizing MMM will have a tale of woes to tell after losing their deposits.”
On what can the Senate do to protect the interest of Nigerians, the lawmaker said, “The House of Representatives has taken a step to condemn the Scheme and also promised to investigate the scheme. Secondly, the CBN and majority of the Banks have warned members of the public from participating in the scheme.
“The EFCC also issued warnings to arrest perpetrators of that scheme. My take is simple. Any Nigerian who decides to participate in the scheme is on his own and should blame himself in the event of any loss. The only thing the Senate can do is to advise Nigerians to shun the temptation of getting rich quick so as not to lose their meager resources.”investment, it is a choice of anyone. The question is, is MMM real, is it actually threatening the financial institutions in Nigeria; is it posing a security threat and is it capital flight? Those questions need to be looked into. I believe that it is the consequence of recession, it is not MMM, but about the desperation of Nigerians looking for survival and nobody needs to be blamed.
“If we see the kind of people that patronize MMM, they are civilized, educated people who actually know the consequences of failed investment, but they still take the risk and go into it. The only advise I can give them is to be careful, they have the right to go into it, it is their right, but they must be careful.”

An armed robbery suspect, Saheed Olanrewaju, on Wednesday said if a friend had not taught him how to steal, he would have died of hunger. He said the hard economic situation in the country forced him into the stealing.
The 39-year-old suspect, said his friend called “SV” introduced him to the life of crime he led until he was nabbed by officers of the Kwara State Police Command.
Punch reports that Olanrewaju, a native of Sagamu, was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr.Olusola Amore, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
“I met SV in Taiwo area in Ilorin when he taught me how to rob. I regret my action now, but it was hunger that turned me into a robber. I had been starving for long and I realised robbery was the only source of daily bread at the time. If I am eventually freed today, I will never venture into crime again,” Olanrewaju said.
The CP said one of the victims of Olanrewaju’s gang, one Abdulateef Abolaji, was sleeping at home with his family at Budo area of Italepa in Ilorin, when he was attacked the suspect.
However, an investigation into the attack later led the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command to the arrest of Olanrewaju.
One locally made pistol was recovered from the suspect. The police is now making efforts to arrest Olanrewaju’s accomplices who are at large. He added that the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigations.

The statement read,
“It has come to the notice of the Buhari family, that certain photographs are making the rounds both on social and conventional media claiming to be pre-wedding photographs of Zahra Buhari and Mohammed Indimi.

PSquare’s Peter Okoye just shaded the Heck out Of Cynthia Morgan… For reasons best known to him.
The singer just posted the above photo of a lady wearing a horrible looking make-over on Instagram and he asked his fans to give her a name if the lady was an artist.
Peter went on to suggest that he’d personally name her Cynthia Mud-face – a name which sounds almost like “Cynthia Morgan”.
Cynthia Morgan
Looking at the picture, the lady also has red hair, same colour to that of Cynthia Morgan’s.
Recall, earlier this year, Peter had gone on a rant where he revealed that he was close to signing Cynthia Morgan to his record label, P-Classic, and had even given her the contract to go through, only for her to return it to him and went on to sign with his brother, Jude Okoye.
Nollywood actress, Regina Chukwu became a widow 13 years ago when she suddenly lost her husband and was faced with the task of taking care of their 2 kids alone.
Today is her only son Maduabuchi Richard Nwafor’s birthday and she has shared a touching story of how she almost aborted him because of poverty:
Ring the bell sound the alarm for on this very day 14yrs ago a prince was born Am I going to write an epistle this year AGAIN? Ofcos I will
This young man here reminds me so much of his late father *mixfeelings*Come with me as I travel down memory lane;
On this faithful day, I walked into my then pastor’s office (I had come for counseling) after exchanging pleasantries, the pastor showed me to a seat N as made to seat comfortably he said nd I quote ‘sister the lord will visit you with a male child soon’ on hearing that my eyes went straight to the calendar that was hung on the wall of his office, and I realised I was 2 weeks late
there and then, the world around me collapsed, I am supposed to be happy but I was not, why? You do ask….. as at that time, we were living from hand to mouth, my husband was sick and to crown it all Racheal was just like a year.
At that spot I decided abortion was the solution but I made sure not to betray my emotion in the presence of our pastor. I got home and I said to my husband ‘I think I am pregnant’ and like I had envisaged he said it to me point blank ‘we are getting rid of it’ how do we have another child in this condition
I said okay but that the pastor said it’s a male child o and like the typical Igbo man that my husband is now, his face brightened up at the mention of a MALE child, so he said to me ‘chi maybe we should leave it, God will provide’ he was from zero to 100 in less than a min
to cut the long story short Maduabuchi Richard Nwafor came into our lives after nine months and the father left us when he was just 4months (he waited for him) a lot of things happened in that space of 13 months but it’s a story for another day

These are the photos of a woman that have taken over social media recently. At first glance one would think the photos are those of a young lady showing off on Instagram.
But closer investigation shows that the photos are those of a 63-year-old woman.
Identified as Bo Talley, the old woman, a grandmother, has managed to stay looking this young because she looks after herself and is passionate about health and fitness.
Bo Talley is reportedly a Entertainment Manager and has her own Special Events Company.
The newly ordained pastor and daughter of late Bimbo Odukoya in a recent interview with Ifeoma Ononye of Independent Nigeria said that women who married men who wants sex everyday, should give it to them. She said this while speaking about her passion for God, relationships, marriages, and family.
While speaking on how most women stop dressing nicely once they get married and have a kid, she said:
“First of all once people see me they see my husband. So I must always look good.
Secondly, for my husband, you don’t know what you have until you lose it and at times, we need to look at our husband from the eye of another woman.
One time I was on Instagram and there was this lady with a thong and dancing, the video went viral and I’m sure men will definitely see it so as a wife, if that thong will make you get your man back.
Better wear it for him because the distraction out there and if you drop the ball then that’s all. Men are judged by what they see. Some women will say my body can’t do that. Don’t think like that, your husband loved that body before he married you.
Fat, big, skinny. You need to believe in what you are carrying. The man wants to feel like you’re making an effort so you have to make an effort with your husband.
When I start doing sex talk with some women, take for instance, you married a man whom you know wants sex every day, you have to give him sex every day because that’s his appetite.
So for me my advice to women is do the best you can with your husband. Once in a while leave the kids at home and go out. You need to remember those good memories, make an effort and bring him back. Women, do the best you know how to do.”
In what seem like a sarcastic post… A lady who says she’s tired of buying sanitary pad of N800 every month, wants to get married asap.
She’s looking for someone who’d impregnate her, and of course walk her down the aisle.
She captioned her post:
Dear future hubby.
Have time not reach for you to come? Always sanitary pad is now 400 and I can’t afford to spend 800 every month because of period…. Please come and give me belle.. I am tired of wearing this thing like chidren on diapers. yours truly.
Ifeoma.
The story might sound untrue… But pictures don’t lie.

Kemi Omololu Olunloyo – a Nigerian journalist, pharmacist, gun violence activist and social media personality seems to have jokingly unveiled the face of her secret lover named Hakeem in a social media public message today, the 9th of December, 2016.
The 52 year old single mother who is based in Ibadan, Oyo State after being deported from Canada showered the handsome Hakeem with sweet and erotic praises in a post that has elicited reactions amidst questions about her love life.
In a catchy message, Madam Kemi described Hakeem – a farmer as the “grey hair in her p****y”
From all indications, it seems Hakeem recently visited her in Ibadan and has today returned to his base in Lagos.
When I came across this article, I chuckled with overwhelming joy… I had thought I was a weird one, who likes to sleep in his birthday suit… truthfully, I sleep nude because of the comfort it brings and all but little did I know that there are health benefits to sleeping in your birthday suit!!! Yay!! More reason why I should save that money on pajamas!
A new paper published by Dr. Alyssa Dweck on the topic of sleeping in your underwear, highlights a number of health risks. Firstly, and perhaps most obviously, wearing undies to bed doesn’t allow your crotch area to breathe meaning that sweat and bacteria can easily build up—especially in the warmer summer evenings and for menopausal women suffering from hot flushes during the night.
This can lead to infection, irritation and, for men, it can even affect their fertility. This is because wearing boxers to bed heats up the testicles to a temperature that could potentially compromise their sperm quality.
If you really dislike the idea of sleeping commando then opt for your biggest, most breathable pants at the bottom of your drawer. And during the warmer nights, make an effort to keep your entire body cool to limit increased sweat and bacteria production and lower your blood pressure.
If you do wake up feeling less than fresh, gynacologist Dr. Jullien Brady shares his tips on how to keep your lady parts as bacteria-free as possible throughout the day:
1. Only wash the outside–rinse the outside skin and the labia with water and a little soap, if you wish.
2. Use non-fragranced, simple soap–if your skin type does not react badly to soap, and you like using it, then you can use soap to wash your vaginal area in the shower. But be careful with the amount you use – a little goes a long way.
3. Be aware of your skin type–if you have sensitive skin or an allergy, check with your doctor about the best way to approach your vaginal hygiene.
While most of y’all will think “they’re doing you from your village” or think it’s a “spiritual something“, most of you don’t seem to acknowledge the fact that your inability to get pregnant just might be more physical than it is “spiritual“.
All these while, you might have been looking at the wrong directions concerning your infertility status. Ladies, here are five fertility saboteurs that could be the reasons you’re not getting pregnant and how you can deal with them…
1. Stress
When you mention to friends and family that you’re “trying,” you’ll almost guaranteed to hear someone say, “Just relax and it will happen.” Easier said than done. Stress, good or bad, is going to take its toll on you both physically and mentally. According to naturopathic doctor Via Bitidis, co-director of the North Toronto Naturopathic Clinic, balance and calm are a crucial part of trying to conceive.
“When you’re stressed your adrenal system takes a hit. Your body isn’t going to say, ‘Okay, let’s get pregnant.’ Learning to say no and to take time for yourself is important for improving your chances of having a baby.” Megan Karnis, medical director of The ONE Fertility Clinic in Burlington, Ont., agrees with a word of caution: “A lot of women think the best thing to do when you’re stressed is to take time off work. In my experience, that doesn’t help, because it makes a woman feel she has to get pregnant in that time and then the stress to get pregnant is so much higher,” she says. Instead of altering your day-to-day routine entirely, Karnis recommends counseling, art therapy, meditation and exercise to reduce stress levels.
Moments ago, Nigeria’s richest blogger, Linda Ikeji posted a throw back photo of herself during her modelling days with an inspiring story, please read below:
This is me participating at the 2003 Miss Nigeria pageant. I desperately wanted to win because I believed I could use the platform to achieve my other dreams..but I didn’t even make Top 10 & I remember thinking it was the end of everything I had planned for my future.
I felt like a failure for weeks following the pageant. I was mostly in a daze, wondering what to do next. I thought being Miss Nigeria was the best thing that could happen to me. If only I knew that God had better plans for me.
Because you see, if I had won that pageant, I never would have – 3 years later – thought of starting a gossip blog. I probably would have thought it was beneath me as a former queen…lol. You see, sometimes, some of the most amazing blessings happen when things don’t turn out the way we hoped it would.
We think its the end when its just a bend leading us through the right path. You have to trust that God knows what He’s doing in your life. Trust Him and trust your journey. All the best!
Gambia’s president, Yahya Jammeh has rejected the results of the just concluded election that put a stop to his 22-year rule.
This comes a week after the 59-year-old conceded to his rival, Adama Barrow on state television.
“After a thorough investigation, I have decided to reject the outcome of the recent election. I lament serious and unacceptable abnormalities which have reportedly transpired during the electoral process.
I recommend fresh and transparent elections which will be officiated by a god-fearing and independent electoral commission,” Jammeh was quoted as saying.
According to Al Jazeera:
Soldiers were seen placing sandbags in strategic locations across the capital Banjul on Friday, a development that triggered widespread unease among the already-spooked population, who had been panic-buying food before the vote due to fear of unrest.
Witnesses told the Reuters news agency that Banjul was quiet overnight, and that there was particular nervousness about the president’s statement that he would deal harshly with any troublemakers who took to the streets.
Senegal’s foreign minister, Mankeur Ndiaye, has also called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, and “solemnly” warned Jammeh not to harm Senegal’s interests or its citizens in Gambia.
The U.S has also said that the rejection was Jammeh’s “egregious attempt to undermine a credible election and remain legitimately in power”.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, on Friday refuted media reports quoting him as saying that the Federal Government was not anticipating the victory of the Super Falcons.
The Super Falcons won the just concluded African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) when they defeated hosts Cameroon by 1–0 at the final of the football competition.
Dalung, who spoke to State House correspondents on Thursday, said the Federal Government did not expect the Super Falcons to win the football tournament.
The minister, however, said he was quoted out of context, saying that contrary to the media reports, the government prepared for the victory of the team.
Dalung made the clarification at the presentation and unveiling of the Youth Unity Cup Championship Trophy to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“May I conclude also by trying to put in proper perspective an impression that has made national headlines in recent time to the effect that the Federal Government was not anticipating a win in the victory of the Super Falcons.
This statement is attributed to my own very self. I want to categorically state that is a statement taken out of context and I cannot image or reconcile how it occurred.
The commitment of the federal government to the support of the Falcons is indeed overwhelming, that explained why the Vice-President himself had to abandon his tight schedule to visit the players in camp before they proceeded to Cameroon.
That is evidence of preparation for victory,” Dalung said.
The minister sought for presidential intervention to enable his ministry pay all outstanding entitlements of the Super Falcons, their coaches and others.

Akufo-Addo, pictured with his wife Rebecca, was making his third bid for the top job [Reuters]
Ghana’s main opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo won the country’s national election, defeating President John Mahama, electoral commissioner Charlotte Osei said.
Crowds of jubilant supporters gathered outside the house of the 72-year-old New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader, who had already claimed victory on Thursday, a day after the voting took place.
Akufo-Addo defeated President Mahama by 53.8 percent to 44.4 percent, Osei said.
“It is my duty and my privilege to declare Nana Akufo-Addo as the president elect of Ghana,” she told a news conference in the capital, Accra, on Friday.
Prior to Osei’s announcement, Akufo-Addo said on Twitter that Mahama called him “congratulating me on winning the 2016 presidential election”.
“I make this solemn pledge to you tonight: I will not let you down. I will do all in my power to live up to your hopes and expectations,” Akufo-Addo told supporters in front of his residence.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Akufo-Addo explained what he believed to be the hopes and expectations of Ghanians: “The expectations they have of me, that I’m gonna bring them a new government, a new style; a government of honesty, a government that is concerned about the welfare of our people – that basic commitment is the one I am determined to fulfill.”
Meanwhile, Akufo-Addo took to Twitter to celebrate his win, using APC’s quite popular slogan “Change”
