Dare-devil robbers, during the weekend, attacked an Ughelli branch of Union Bank, and carted away N25 million after blowing up the bank’s vault with dynamite.
It was gathered that the hoodlums, who were dressed in army camouflage, used dynamite and welding tools to break into the ATM inside the bank and the bank’s vault, where a bulk of the cash was kept.
An auditor of the bank, who was sent from the Benin regional office for the regular auditing of the bank’s branch, estimated that about N25 million was stolen from the bank.
Confirming the incident yesterday, a staff of the bank, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the bank’s manager and some senior staff were arrested and taken to Asaba for questioning in connection with the incident.
Giving details of the incident, the staff said:
“The security guards were tied up while the operation lasted.
Though they spared the ATM outside the bank premises, they used dynamite to blow up the ATM inside the bank and drilled their way through into the bank’s vault.”

Heartbreaking photos shows six children from the same parents who were poisoned to death by an unknown person in Ekwulumili area of Anambra state.
The children were said to have met a pot of food in their house, not knowing it was poisoned, ate it and all died instantly. This was some time in July and according to the obituary above, they will be buried on Saturday, November 5th in their hometown.

Tunde Agbaje, a 26-year-old man has reportedly trekked from the Ketu area of Lagos State to Zaria in Kaduna State in a bid to for his crush to say ‘yes‘.
Agbaje, who is the cousin of a former People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, went on the adventure to prove his love for a lady, Sharon Donald, Punch reports.
It was gathered that the 26-year-old Donald is the daughter of a former governor of a state in the South-South and had recently travelled to New York, United States of America.
It was learnt that Agbaje and Donald had met in Ikoyi, Lagos State, and had been friends for the past six years, but she had turned down his marriage proposal several times.
Agbaje said he decided to trek to Zaria to prove his love for Donald, adding that he was on the road for 19 days.
The Lagos State indigene was reportedly received on Friday, October 21, by the Chief Security Officer of the Ahmadu Bello University, Col J.K. Tukur; and the protocol office of the Emir of Zaria.
He was later taken to a hospital where he was reportedly treated for the injuries he sustained during the trek, which was monitored by a GPS tracker.
Narrating how he met Donald, Agbaje said,
“I was with my friends sometime in 2010 and while we were discussing about ladies, I said I wished God would just show me my wife anytime soon.
About five minutes later, we were hungry and I went to get food on Awolowo Road. It was my first day at that eatery. I was waiting to be served when she walked in. Coincidentally, that day was also her first day there. I observed that there was a love image at the back of the trousers she put on.
She approached me and asked what she could buy and I advised her. We later exchanged contacts and became friends. That was how my love for her started growing. We met several times afterwards.”
Agbaje said some months later, he decided to open up on his feelings for Donald, but she turned him down. He said he persisted, adding that when Donald didn’t bulge, he decided to do “what no man can do for her.”
“I chose to trek to Zaria because her parents dated for six years in ABU, Zaria, before they got married. I didn’t let my parents know and to ensure I was not disturbed, I changed my SIM card. I took a tracker along with me to monitor my movements. I never took a bus at any time. It was a tough task and I even collapsed some of the times. I took off from Ketu on October 2 and arrived in Zaria on Thursday, October 20, around 4.15pm.
I have no regret for what I have done. I have proved my love for her, even though she didn’t reciprocate my feeling. I believe even if she gets married to another person, nobody will ever be able to do what I did for her,” Agbaje added.
Punch was told that the CSO of ABU, Tukur, called Donald to ask if she was aware of Agbaje’s adventure, which she acknowledged.
She, however, didn’t state if she would accept his proposal. The head of the protocol office of the Emir of Zaria, Mr. Abubakar Ladan, told PUNCH on the telephone that Agbaje was received at the palace. He added that the emir had stepped out when he arrived.
“I had a brief chat with him and after telling us his mission, we prayed for him and wished him the best,” he added.
When Punch contacted Donald, she said she knew Agbaje was embarking on the trek, adding that she warned him against it. She said she had never had any relationship with him, describing him as a stalker.
She said:
“Tunde (Agbaje) has been harassing and stalking me for the past six years and as far as I am concerned, this is just a new escapade in a series of his harassment.
I met Tunde at a church when I was living in Lagos and we were both part of the youth ministry. He never had a friendship, let alone a relationship, with me. I was in a music group and some of the youths had my phone number, including him.
He later found out where I lived and came to my house. My mum warned him to leave me alone, but he refused. I changed my phone number and moved to the US, but I don’t know how he got my contact. I have stopped picking calls from Nigeria because of him.
He later called me and said he was going to trek to prove his love for me in a non-violent way and I told him not to do it because he could die. I said that not because I cared, but just for Christian charity. This guy is mentally unstable, because how can you still be stalking a woman who has turned you down for six years?”

Ogbuji Grace Amarachi has taken to Instagram to expose a Nigerian man who she alleges is threatening to leak her sex tape.
According to the actress and radio presenter, the tape was recorded six years ago but the man called Omini Aho, a friend of the lady who recorded the clip, contacted her this September.
“All of a sudden he popped up this year, calling, asking to see me,s aying he’s got a job for me and all that, asking to see me, fixed a date and all that which I didn’t turn up to anyways,” Ms Amarachi says, adding, “when he saw his plans to have me wasn’t working he decided to threaten me with the video which happened like way back 6years ago. A university student enrolled at a small college in Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with attempted murder after authorities learned that he had poisoned his pregnant girlfriend’s glass of water with bleach in an attempt to abort the fetus, authorities said.
Theophilous Washington, a 20-year-old from Washington, D.C. who is attending Millersville University in rural Pennsylvania, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder of an unborn child and reckless endangering.
‘The charges are twisted and the intended result nothing short of horrifying,’ District Attorney Craig Stedman said in a statement Friday.
Washington and his girlfriend, who is two months pregnant, were at his home on Thursday.
When she was about to leave on Friday morning to return to her dorm, authorities said he offered her a drink of water that had been stashed in the refrigerator.
After she drank the water, she returned to her room and began to feel a burning sensation in her throat. She started vomiting and eventually called 911.
In interviews with police, Washington acknowledged putting bleach in the water bottle from which his girlfriend drank, prosecutors said.
‘Washington, the father of the child, admitted to putting bleach in the water bottle,’ prosecutors said. ‘He had stated previously that he did not want the female to have the child.’
The woman was examined by a doctor, who determined that she and the fetus were unharmed, according to the district attorney.
Brian Hazlett, Millersville’s vice president of student affairs and enrollment management, called it ‘a horrible, unconscionable event.’

According to Mmebusem who spoke with OGEE of Dess FM 90.3 in Bekwai, he does not understand why some Ghanaians have taken to social media to ridicule and blast him for his new journey in life.
“I had already decided not to comment about this issue because I don’t think I am the only person who’s married. A lot of people have been calling me saying a whole lot of things as if the lady is not a human being.”

Thirty-five-year-old Thomas Matthew has told a horrific tale of how his father, who he claimed initiated him into an occult group, appeared to him and told him to sacrifice his children to him.
In response to the demand, Matthew strangled his two-month-old son, John Matthew and four-year-old daughter, Mary Matthew at different times. But his attempt to also kill his first son, Josiah Matthew, who is nine years old, backfired.
The horrendous acts were committed in Mountain village opposite Dantata Camp, Asokoro, Abuja.
As Sunday Sun learnt from the Commissioner of Police, of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Mr. Mohammed Mustafa, the suspect, Matthew strangled his daughter, Mary, inside his house on October 7, 2016, after beating his wife, Bola, who is deaf and dumb and chasing her out of the house.
In a brief interaction facilitated by a sign language expert, the wife who is deaf and dumb recalled how the husband had tried to kill their first son.
She said: “I didn’t know that my husband is a cultist. I remember when he first tried to kill our first son, I reported the matter at the Garki Police Station. It was my mother who took the boy away from the house and he is still staying with her in Mararaba, Nasarawa State. Then I had another son last year.
When he was two months old, he became sick. My husband killed him in September 2015. I didn’t know until he confessed. This year I had our daughter. In the night of October 7, 2016, we were together in the house when suddenly he started beating me. I got injured and ran away to his elder sister’s house. Before I came back with his sister, he had strangled our baby to death.
He locked the door and ran away. It was policemen from Asokoro Police Station, where I reported the case that broke the door and found the baby. We rushed the baby to Asokoro General Hospital. The doctor said the baby was dead. Now I have only one son left, Josiah Matthew. It was only God who saved me from the power of darkness.”
When he spoke with Sunday Sun at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department of the FCT Police Command, where he is being held prior to arraignment in court, Matthew corroborated what the wife said and made other disclosures in explanation of what drove him to commit the alleged heinous acts.
His words: “I got married to my wife, Bola, and we were blessed with three kids. My father is a cultist and he initiated me into the occult. My father asked me to offer the children as sacrifice and mark of honour to him, promising he would make me become rich.
“It was a covenant that nobody knew, even my wife. My father gave me conditions that if anybody got to know or I revealed the covenant, that the covenant would be destroyed. From the time I had my first child, my father began disturbing me to offer my child to him as a sacrifice.
Matthew who hails from Kwande Local Government Area, Benue State, further said: “I tried to kill my first child by strangling, but my wife caught me and reported to the police and her mother came to take the child away from the house. He has been staying with her in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
Later my father appeared to me after I had my second son, John, who became sick. I strangled him to death in 2015. On October 7, 2016, my father appeared to me again that I should kill my only daughter. I was with my wife and then I started beating her and she ran away to my elder sister’s house and I locked the door and strangulated my four-month-old baby girl and she died.
I locked the entrance of the house and ran away. It was the youth in my area that arrested me and handed me over to the police. I wanted to kill my younger brother according to my father’s instruction. My father is still alive and he is in the village in Benue State.”
The police commissioner assured that the suspect would be charged to court soon.
22 year old Hausa actress Rahama Sadau has honored the invitation from Akon for her to come to the US. While in US the actress was pictured with Akon, Nse Ikpe Etim, Miguel Nunez Jr, Eyinna Nwigwe and other actors.
Speaking in an interview, she spoke on her experience in US so far.
“I was welcomed with such warmth and incredible hospitality. I have only been here a few day but I have already learned so much from these amazing people,” she said.
“They are truly talented individuals with a wealth of experience and a great passion for what they do. I am looking forward to all the other amazing things in store for me over the coming days,”she added.
