A man who shocked many in India by leaving his wife and marrying his mother-in-law has now realized his foolishness and filed for divorce.
The man identified as Suraj Mahto, 22, came to limelight after he abandoned his wife Lalita and married her mother, 42-year-old Asha Devi. According to reports, the unusual affair began when Mrs Devi came to stay with the couple in the village of Puraini in the impoverished state of Bihar last year.
It was gathered that Devi looked after Mr Mahto when he became ill and they fell in forbidden love. After the mother-in-law returned home, he would call her and they would talk for hours on the phone and would also visit her at her home.
When Lalita found out about the affair she told her mother to stay away but she refused; even the girl’s father could not do anything to stop the forbidden affair.
Even though everyone in the village frowned at the forbidden love, the couple eloped and married on June 1 this year in nearby Dhamdaha. Two months on the couple have both realised they have made a crazy mistake.
The Gulf News reported that Mr Mahto said: ‘I have come to realise my folly now. I admit I have committed the mistake but will never repeat in future.
‘Now, I no longer treat her as my wife. Rather, I have started paying her regard as a mother.’
He said he would go on bended knee and beg Lalita to have him back. The couple have a son together.
Mrs Devi is also seeking to undo her actions.
She said of Mr Mahto: ‘No longer do I treat him as my husband but as a son-in-law. We have already a filed divorce petition in the court and I want to return to my husband as soon as possible.’

Veteran actress Mercy Johnson has finally responded to Nigerians that blasted her for not observing child-spacing after she had 3 children in less than 3 years.
According to Mercy, the criticism didn’t get to her. Rather everyone should “expect baby number 4” soon.
The serial award-winning actress told Punch she had charted a course for her life even before she became famous and she is following her plans:
“I feel that when you haven’t gone through life and you don’t have a bearing in life, that’s when you see certain decisions as unreasonable. Most of these people who make these statements have not even realised what they want to do with their lives yet.
“I had planned my life right from when I was growing up. I arranged my life the way I wanted it to go. And that is why even when I was at the peak of my career and marriage came, I grabbed it because I know age keeps going and time waits for no one.
“It means that I can have all of my four kids and then still get back to shape and come back to what I love to do. So I am not going to say things like, ‘I don’t want to have kids yet’ or ‘I am not going to get married and I want to keep acting because the young shall always grow’, you are not going to be number one forever. That is why when it is time for you to do something, you do it.
Yoruba will always say in their prayers that when the time for a child to talk has come, by the grace of God, she will talk. When it’s time to go to school, he will go to school.
That’s what I’m trying to do. I want to define my life in a way my daughter will want to define her own life,” she said.
She further explained how she has been able to joggle her career, motherhood and marriage.
“I think what has got me this far is placing my decisions on a scale of preference. I love what I do, I adore my husband, I adore my kids, so every time I have to make a decision, I pick which is more important, and I start from there. I understand the home front is more important so I manage my home and create time to do what I have to do. I think that has helped me get this far,” she said.

This short haired Ghanaian model, Ohwawa, has warned her followers to beware of Nigerian men saying they should run away from them if they ever encounter them.
We don’t know why… but it’s certainly because she had an experience with either one or two. See the video below:

Cheating is an ordeal most people don’t want to experience. Give them a thieving partner and they may be just fin. The lying, cheating partner they just can’t take.
When your partner cheats on you with another person, it is involves more a mere bruising of your emotions.
It is even more traumatizing if your partner cheats on you over a sustained period of time. In fact, some people never recover from the infidelity of their partners.
It is possible that you will never stop asking what you did that made them cheat on you. Were they really that unhappy, or were they just born to cheat?
These are a few signs that can help save you from the unpleasant shock at the discovery of your partner’s unfaithfulness.
1. If you think he/she is cheating, he/she most likely is
If you keep getting the nagging sensation that your partner is cheating on you, chances are he/she is. It is possible that you’re just being insecure and possibly, crazy. But Nature gave you your instincts for a reason, so they may not be wrong after all.
You have trusted your instincts on a number of occasions; this situation may not be so different from the countless times your instincts were proven right. There is one thing to remember, however.
If you’re suspicions are based on just your instincts, it will be wiser to hold on to your confrontations until you have substantial evidence to build your case.
2. The no-discussion-friend
If your partner has a friend of the opposite sex who they are unwilling to talk about with you, there is the likelihood that they are engaged in an affair with this friend.
Or planning to, at least. If your partner gets agitated, uncomfortable and defensive every time you bring up this friend in casual conversations, then you have every suspicious to be suspicious.
A mother has become an Internet sensation after using an amazing illustration to teach her daughter about the importance of the power of words in life.
She taught her daughter, who is about to start middle school, something very important about how words should be used carefully and not anyhow – she shared in on Facebook and she’s being globally praised as the post has gathered over 630,000 likes, over 695,000 shares.
An Upcoming Nollywood actress has been accused of destroying her friend’s property worth over N500,000.
The actress, Nazo Okezie, reportedly engaged one of her friends in an argument and fight, causing her friend to call her out on social media.
The friend identified as Chinenye Nwankwo, accused Nazo of destroying her belongings following their fallout.
According to her, the fact that she and Nazo have been friends for over years, didn’t stop her from destroying her property, despite the fact that she provided the roof over their heads. Read what she said below:
“Last year, I was about to move into a new place in lekki that was for N550k a year,my friend Nazo who has been my friend for ten years now asked to add N100k to the money so that she could stay over in my house whenever she was in lagos so I accepted and took the money from her because I felt we were friends and all.
She has come to the house twice for extended stay and on this third visit, we had issue and this was because she has this friend who I did not like her constant visit to the house as she made me uncomfortable with her visits so I told her that I did not want the girl coming to the house.
That was the beginning of our riff to the extent that she threatened to beat me up in my house so i had to leave my house for her. Then last week i packed her belongings in my house and sent it through my cab man to her and she told the cab to return the bags to me, but I had also told the estate securities not to allow her into the house again.
After that, i got a call from the police to report to their office which i did and on getting there she had told them that I stole her $1,000. We were in the police for days till they asked me to sign an agreement that since my house rent was expiring on the 17th of August, 2016, I should allow her to stay till 17th and she leaves then.
I asked if I could even refund her half of the N100k so she can leave and she refused. So when my rent expired on the 17th I renewed my rent and just today I went out to buy some things only to come home and see all my bags and shoes shredded to pieces, all my clothes too. I did not do anything to Naza to deserve this. Nobody deserves this at all.”

The quest for two sisters in Jos, Plateau State, to confront the man who impregnated one of them resulted in a fatal death of the elder sister, reports AGABUS PWANAGBA in Jos
The popular saying “there is a thin line between love and hate” was what played out between two lovers who have been dating for the past 9 years as love crossed the thin line to become hate. It was sometime in July, 2016, when an incident occurred at Sabon Gari, Tudun Wada, a suburb in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, where two sisters, Justina Dusu Chado and Simi Dusu Chado were alleged to have clashed at a man’s house, by the name Stephen Shut Jang.
The two women in their late twenties were said to have fought, cutting themselves with glass and mirror, leading to the death of the elder sister, Simi while the younger sister miraculously survived and she is currently responding to treatment in a hospital.
However, investigations by THE AUTHORITY revealed that the two sisters were actually victims of the wickedness of one Mr. Stephen Shut Jang, who was alleged to have butchered the two sisters with a machete when the duo went to confront him about the pregnancy of Justina whom he was dating and who became pregnant for him.
The victim who survived the gory incident, Miss Justina Dusu Chado narrated their ordeal from her hospital bed thus:
“I met Stephen in 2007 during the new year celebrations.
I was in GSS Mai Idon Doruwa in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State and Stephen used to visit me in School. After my secondary school in 2009, I left Jos for Abuja and we were communicating on phone throughout my stay in Abuja until May 2016 that I returned to Jos.
“After coming back, I asked him if the relationship was going to lead to marriage because, while in Abuja, someone else was asking for my hand in marriage but I told person that I had a boyfriend and so, till I hear from him first.
“So, I asked Stephen if he was ready for marriage or I should accept the other man’s proposal, but he said that he was still working on it, that I shouldn’t worry. This conversation took place the first time I visited his house at Sabon Gari, Tudun Wada -Jos.
“After that, I visited his house three times to see him. That was when I discovered that I was pregnant. I told him about the pregnancy and he asked me to abort it but I told him I cannot do it as I did’t know how to do such a thing. So he flared up, insisting that I must terminate the pregnancy, so I left. Since then, he stopped picking my calls.
“My elder sister, Simi discovered the pregnancy and called him, and because he didn’t know her number, he picked the call. She asked him why he wasn’t picking my calls ever since he discovered I’m was pregnant for him but he told her to please calm down and that he would call us both to sit down and talk about it. After that call, he also stopped picking my sister’s calls too.
“My elder sister Simi and I decided to go to Stephen’s house, but he wasn’t at home. After waiting for about an hour and calling him several times but he did not pick, we left his house. “On our way going, we met him on the road and started talking to him about the issue, but he insisted that we should go back to the house and talk as the matter is a serious one that should not be discussed by the road side; so we agreed and followed him back to his house.
“On reaching the house, I told him that I have come to stay since I’m pregnant for him and as he was not picking my calls and that he should go and inform him parents. I just said that to startle him, so he told my elder sister to please excuse us so we can have a heart-to-heart talk and she went out of the room with her phone that had been ringing.
“The next thing, he locked the door, carried a machete and started cutting my face while kicking my stomach with his leg. I started shouting for help and my sister came knocking, begging him to please open the door but he refused.
“She had to break the door to enter the room in order to help me but immediately she entered, he turned on her and started butchering her with the same machete while I lay helplessly on the floor.
“The next thing I can remember after that was waking up to discover that I’m in the hospital; after asking where I was and what happened. It was later that I was able to recollect what happened at Stephen Shut Jang’s house and how he butchered my sister and I with machete.”
Mrs. Rifkatu Yusuf, elder sister to both Simi and Justina who is married and lives at Bukuru, Jos South LGA, in an interview with THE AUTHORITY, said the story making rounds that her two sisters clashed at a man’s house and fought, tearing themselves into pieces with mirror in his room, while he, Stephen, was out buying drinks for them is “a cooked up propaganda by Stephen Shut Jang to cover up the sins and evil he did on my sisters and painting it in a different way.
According to her, there was no way two people will fight each other and inflict these level of cuts on one another with a mirror without having cuts on their hands.
Mrs. Yusuf who is demanding that justice should be done, said the incident happened the very first time Simi is even meeting him and as such, Stephen never knew her prior to that day, talk more of her fighting with her younger sister over a man. She said Stephen Shut Jang, who is in Police custody would have simply killed them and buried them had the incident happened in the bush.
Also, a relative of the young women, Mr. Chado Dusu who is an APC Chieftain in Barkin Ladi LGA, described the two sisters, especially the Late Simi Chado as a very peaceful, compassionate and considerate.
“As a family, we have been cheated already and nothing can bring our sister back to life but all we want now is that the law should take its cause and justice be done.
“This is why we are calling on the Plateau State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, Human Rights activists, CSOs and all other relevant authorities to pick up the matter in the interest of justice.
In his reaction, the Village Head of Kanang, Foron District of Barkin Ladi LGA, where the victims hail from, Da Dung Gwom also told THE AUTHORITY that with the love the Dusu Chado familiy have for each other, there is no way the two sisters would fight each other in such a manner.
The traditional ruler added that,
“life is sacred and whoever takes the life of another should not be allowed to live if our justice system must work.”
However, Mr. & Mrs. Iliya Dusu Chado parents of the victims, prayed for the soul of late Simi, who they said was the bread winner in the family, to find rest and for quick recovery of Justina who is still recuperating in the hospital.
They also reiterated that the culprit must be brought to book to stop him from doing same to other people’s daughters; as there are reports indicating that this is not the first time Stephen Shut Jang is doing such a thing.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of Plateau State Command, ASP Tyopev Mathias Terna, in an interview with THE AUTHORITY, said:
“We received a report sometime in July, this year that one Stephen Shut Jang, attacked two sisters who came to his house, both were taken to the hospital, one died and the other survived. But in the interim he was thinking that both of them were dead, because of the severity of the attack he carried out on them.”
Terna further explained that, “Later on the sister who we later discovered was pregnant for him had came to ask him to take responsibility but he refused and started beating her and attacked her with a cutlass; who later on survived, but it was the elder sister who followed her to Mr. Jang’s house that died.”
However, “when he was confronted with the fact that the other one survived, he now opened up, that he really attacked them, but it was the devil that pushed him into attacking them.”
The PPRO assured that investigation into the matter is ongoing, adding that the case would soon be transferred to the State CID, for further investigation and possibly he should be charged to court as soon as possible.
According to the Police Spokesperson, “What actually delayed the investigation was that he was so vehement that the two sisters were fighting over him. It was later when he discovered that the girlfriend who was pregnant survived, that he opened up.
“From my own understanding, it was very impossible for two sisters to fight especially to that extent over a man that was why we persisted. Some people came for him to be released on bail, but we insisted, that since human life is involved, we must get to the root of the matter. And now that the mystery behind it has been unraveled, he would be charge to court very soon.”
On the insinuation that the police are intending to free him or release him on bail, Terna said it was not true, noting that “it’s just a mere allegation aimed to dent our name. We are a set of responsible people; we cannot do a thing like that. “So we are assuring members of the public that, very soon Jang would be charge to court.”
In the wee hours of Saturday morning, an accident occurred at the Akerele area of Surulere Lagos – A Volvo car with number plate, SMK 165 BC rammed into a house, injuring a victim who was taken to the hospital.
Not everyone gets to have the fairy tale kind of marriage everybody wants.
Due to ‘irreconcilable differences’ and so many other factors, marriages are crashing left, right and center. But what really amazes us is how a marriage could crash in less than a year even a month!
Anyways, below are 5 celebrity marriages that didn’t last for more than 2 years.
1. Funke Akindele and Kehinde Oloyede – 2012-2013
When Funke Akindele tied the knot with Kehinde Oloyede back in 2012, it was glamorous affair. It however crashed a year later after Kehinde proved to be a serial baby daddy and cheat.
Their marriage was alleged to have ended after Oloyede kept a string of affairs and even returning to the women he had prior to the big celebrity wedding with Funke Akindele.
The actress emerged on Friday, July 19, 2013 to confirm she’s actually separated from her husband of one year Kehinde ‘Almaroof’ Oloyede.
The female Team Nigeria relay team, which has Blessing Okagbare as its skipper, came in last on Saturday in the women’s 4x100m relay at the ongoing Rio Olympics.
The Nigerian quartet made up of Okagbare, Gloria Asumu, Jennifer Madu and Agnes Osazuwa, finished last in 43.21seconds.
The event had the U.S. team led by Allyson Felix, claim Gold in time of 41.01 seconds. Jamaica and Great Britain ladies won silver and bronze after crossing the finish line in 41.36 seconds and 41.77 seconds respectively.
Germany, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine and Canada, all finished ahead of the Nigerian ladies.
In a series of photos the effeminate shared on his Social media pages, he claims that nobody is hotter than he is, not even women who have breasts and other feminine features.
He says as he stepped out for work one time during the week, his colleagues said “he looks hot” – that comment to me, is just sad… An effeminate, who looks hot? Shaking and twisting my head 360 degrees.

The story you are about to read discloses one of the pathetic yet interesting cases that ABSU Law Clinic, through its services to the community is handling.
It is pitiable to see that in a world where it is loudly proclaimed that children are the leaders of tomorrow, a 14 years old boy, lavishes behind bars for roughly 2 years for a crime he has not been convicted of.
Even as an orphan, his potentials has made him a cynosure at Umuahia prisons, Afara, where he has been remanded all this while. His name is Chima Chimaroke and this is his story;
Chima Chimaroke was born in January 2001 into the family of the Chimas, from Umuekwuele in Afugiri, Umuahia, Abia State. Unfortunately for him he lost his parents and only twin brother at a very tender age.
Despite these challenges Chimaroke exhibited swift learning abilities that led him to acquire skills in phones and other electronics devices repair. He further harnessed his swift learning abilities at Umuahia prisons where he is a barber and the sole shoe maker.
Just as a man on a swing sways in whatever direction the wind blows, Chimaroke was soon swallowed up in social vices as he lacked the attention, love and direction he would have gotten from his late parents. As a boisterous young man, he began to fend for himself by hawking Lacasera and Gala on the streets as the family he found himself in had no eye for him.
He was introduced into the world of crime by his co-hawkers who compelled him to stand as a lookout while they carried out their devious plans. As a fresh man in the world of crime, he was the only one arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery whilst the ringleaders are graciously at large.
Through the joint efforts of the ABSU LAW CLINIC and the office of the Chief Judge of Abia state, Chimaroke was granted bail during the jail delivery that took place on the 4th of May, 2016. But we are faced with a problem, thus;
Chimaroke is an orphan with no immediate relatives except for his stepmother and step brothers. The stepmother has refused to have anything to do with him and has gone on to prevent her children from helping out. Saying that China is an “abandoned government property”. It was a herculean task for ABSU LAW CLINIC to locate, communicate with and convince one of his step brothers to sign Chimarokes bail bond.
Although by Gods intervention he agreed to sign but on the condition that Chimaroke is not welcomed in their home as their mother would not allow it. He said he could only sign it if we could provide accommodation or a place to rehabilitate Chimaraoke.
The problem now is DO WE RELEASE CHIMARAOKE TO A FAMILY THAT SEES HIM AS AN ABANDONED GOVERNMENT PROPERTY OR DO WE RELEASE HIM BACK TO A WORLD OF CRIME?
Chimaroke needs to be taught love where he has seen hate, peace where he has seen chaos, a home where he has been left on the streets.
Chimaroke need YOU to harness his talent where his talent has been left dormant.
His stay in the prison has done more harm than good to him and the society at large, as he would be molded from the things he learns now. Chimaroke is susceptible to change and only needs the right hands to lead him aright.
The ABSU LAW CLINIC calls on non-governmental organizations, individuals to help provide a home and a means of livelihood for Chimaroke. We see a lot of potentials and possibilities in Chima and we want you to join in his progress. As it stands, we are the only ones the little boy has. His only hope It is one of our duties to the community.

A user has written to Laila Ijeoma on how her husband of few months told her to get an abortion after she discovered she was pregnant.
Read Below:
I beg of you to keep all my details private, I don’t know what I would do if this portion of my life leaks to the public.
It pains me to be at such a low point that I have to write anonymously into a blog. It’s hard because I can’t share this with anyone, so I’ve been battling it alone.
I met my husband 3 years ago, and we did our traditional marriage this summer. We have not yet done our church wedding. For a while I started noticing a change in my body, and friends kept teasing that I look pregnant. So I decided to take a pregnancy test and discovered that l was pregnant.
I felt a small burst of joy because I had never imagined myself ever being pregnant, but that joy ended quickly because he was not excited and suggested I abort it.
He said that he is not ready for a child yet, and that he has so much more he wants to do with his life. I went on to tell him that I am ready and that no matter the circumstance, the baby is already here. He told me that he does not operate like that and that gone are the days when people go on with things because they’re already in a situation.
I started crying and asking him why he would put me through this. Whenever I would try to explain my feelings to him he won’t even give me the audience, he has not even made any effort to console me or make me feel better about the situation.
I finally told him that I will go ahead and abort my baby, but when I do that will be the end of us, because I don’t see how someone that claims to love me can put me through such a situation. I am so drained because I find myself crying and not eating these days.
I have not told anyone so I am facing this alone. It pains me even more because my husband is the first and only man I’ve slept with and the first man I’ve ever loved. I feel like a rejected woman and not a celebrated wife.
Please someone help me, I need to hear some words of wisdom and advice.

So I rehabilitated this bore hole a few months ago, and the woman in this picture apparently is homeless and lives there at that spot, she bought a generator to power the bore hole (she washes clothes for a living)Boy was I impressed so I decided to give her a little surprise
She got a clean, fresh, room apartment with a television, gotv, fan, matress and chair ..a place to retire to after a days work. Congrats to her .

Before you’ll come back from your vacation, I just want you to know about small accident I had. I did not get hurt, so do not worry about me too much.
So I was driving a pickup truck home from a shopping mall when turning into the driveway I accidentally mulled pedals and pushed down on the accelerator instead of brake. Fortunately, the truck stopped when met your car, besides, the garage door is slightly bent.
I am so sorry, my love, but I know you, with your kind-hearted personality, will forgive me! I am attaching a photo for you.
My dearest person I can not wait but to give you a loving hug!
In this interview with Jesusegun Alagbe of Punch Newspaper, actor Bob Manuel had this to say!
Do you also use generator like most Nigerians do?
Of course, I do, even more than most Nigerians. We have no choice due to poor power supply in the country. I rely mostly on generator for my power needs.
For how many hours in a day do you enjoy government power supply in your area?
I cannot estimate that. Sometimes there is electricity today, tomorrow there is none. It’s an on-and-off situation. Sometimes, there could be no power for weeks and I often forget there’s anything called government power supply. It’s just like what every other Nigerian experiences.
Some people switch off some of their home appliances when running on generator so as to save fuel cost. Do you also do that?
I do it, but not necessarily to save cost. It is to save the lifespans of the appliances and the generator. Using home appliances for long when running on generator could cause damage to them and the generator in the long run.
That is why I have three generators in my house. It is not deliberate and it is not to prove being rich, but it is because of the condition we have found ourselves in this country. I run one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the night. By doing this, I will be able to lengthen the lifespan of the generators. Of course, running the generator throughout the day creates a deep hole in the pocket, but what can we do with the epileptic power supply in the country?
How much do you spend on powering your generators per month?
I have stopped calculating the amount. It is painful. You can just imagine if someone is spending just N1,000 per day to run a generator, in a month, you would have spent N30,000. Many Nigerians spend more than that per month. Personally, if I calculate what I spend on powering my generators, I will develop high blood pressure. I don’t bother again.
Do you have any hope that power supply in this country will improve?
No hope. There is none and I will tell you why. The issue of power supply in this country cannot be solved in a day.
The problem was caused by a particular set of people in this country who don’t want to see things work. Twenty years ago, having a generator was by choice, not something everybody had. Only a few people had it. But things got worse afterwards and now the importation of generators is big business and the importers are making billions of naira from it. Some of the importers are big people in this country who are doing everything they can to not make power supply improve. Some of them partially own the companies that manufacture generators.
These people are in the government and wield huge influence. I am pessimistic we can succeed in getting good power supply again in this country. If it is ever going to happen, it will involve the shedding of blood because the cabal will be ready to do anything for their business to keep thriving. I am putting this as a challenge to the government, let them prove me wrong. We can never get stable power supply again in this country.
Some people are going for solar panels in their homes. Are you also considering installing it?
Every option is on the table, but is solar cheap? No, it’s not. People are suffering, there is no money. People are not smiling. These days, you hear stories of food theft because of the bad situation of things. All is not well for now. My appeal to the government is to bring the much desired change. Things are hard on Nigerians and we cannot continue like this.
What advice would you give Nigerians?
Take things in order of priority. Draw a scale of preference. Then, to give a tip on saving fuel, when you turn on your generator, draw the fuel pump valve to half way. I have not really experimented it before, but I think it gives some psychological feeling that you are saving some fuel. Let other Nigerians try it and give me feedback.
Determined to make a difference, Okechukwu Joseph ventured into the movie industry but after about a decade, the actor believed that he had not made the desired change…and so he traveled to the United States where he enrolled at the New York Film Academy.
The result of this is a soon-to-be released movie entitled, Second Chance. In an interview with Christian Agadibe, Joseph talks about his new film, aborted romance with star actress, Genevieve Nnaji and his plans for Nollywood.
How does it feel to come back home after your academic sojourn in America?
I am more than happy to be home. It was strictly an academic sojourn. I got into the movie industry in 1996, shot my first movie in 1997 and 10 years later, I felt it was a good time for some upgrade at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios; Hollywood was the best choice I ever made. I loved every bit of my experience there. It was life changing.
What project have you been able to accomplish after school and are there any specific benefits of your return to Nollywood?
After I finished from film school I produced a movie in Maryland. The movie is entitled Second Chance. Ever since I have had a few post-production hiccups here and there but thank God, all those are giving way now and Second Chance will soon be released in Nigeria.
I am excited to announce that one of the big Hollywood producers/directors with whom I went into partnership some years back is finally here in Nigeria for good. He brought loads of hi-tech equipment and there is now a huge studio set up in Calabar.
We intend to extend production services to different parts of the country at a rate never before heard of. The idea is to encourage professional filmmaking without breaking the bank. And we also want to start connecting our Nollywood producers with foreign distribution outlets in America, Europe and beyond.
Did you play a role in the movie?
Of course! I acted in the movie. I was one of the lead characters.
What do you like about the character you played?
The role I played was very sensitive and tasking. It was a challenge I was very happy to take. It had way too many significant transitions and each transition pulled the same amount of energy and required even higher concentration and focus than the previous.
It tells you how strong the story was. I conceived the story, took about 18 months to piece it together and finally wrote it in the Netherlands.
Before you left the country, which was the last movie you featured in?
Alice My First Lady! I played Amadi. I married two wives – Alice and Akunne. Alice was the first and for some reasons, I paid a terrible price for my choice of a second wife, Akunne. Alice beat the crap out of my rather fragile Akunne. I think a lot of people like that movie. I do too. Very hilarious! I have featured in over a hundred movies but every time I step out all I hear is ‘Amadi, Alice’s husband’. Or you see some women clapping their hands and cracking up at the sight of me. Ladies laugh me to stupor sometimes because they see me as the weakling of a man who made Alice their perfect symbol of defiant womanhood.
Growing up, were there signs that pointed you in this direction?
Yes. I come from a family of five. I have just a brother and a sister. So, usually, when I was much younger, I would spontaneously just entertain my family and make everybody laugh especially my mother. I could mimic like crazy.
Actually, my mom thought I would become a comedian so she fought so hard to distract me from the entertainment industry. You see, she enjoyed my performances but she wanted me to be an engineer because her other son is a medical doctor and the girl is a lawyer. But hey, I am who I am and I have absolutely no regrets.
What is the craziest thing a fan has done to you?
A female fan once brought out her breast in an open place and gave me a marker to sign on it. It was very bizarre. I begged her to let me sign on her chest and she insisted. Trust me I had no choice. I did it! Just made sure my hands were at the upper end of the marker pen.
What is your kind of woman?
Classy, clean and confident.
Has any one of your female colleagues ever solicited sex from you while in the process of shooting?
Truth is a lot of people didn’t know that all that while that I was shooting movies everywhere I was still a virgin! I didn’t know how to explain this to ladies especially. People thought I had other strange feelings. One of my directors even confronted me at some point wanting to know if I was hiding some ailment.
It was on the set of this director that two young women attempted to rape me in my hotel room. I will never forget this. It was Singapore Hotel, Ikeja, where we lodged. The movie was Karishika 2. We had returned from a shoot so I left my door open. They came in, stripped themselves halfway and pounced on me. I fought with them for nearly 25 minutes. They gave up when I threatened to stab them. I lied that I had a knife. That was probably the third time that I had had that kind of experience.
Were they your colleagues?
Of course! They were upcoming artistes. They were also part of that movie. Everybody else was fair game, but I was ‘forming superman’ so I could understand their frustration. And they were a crazy bunch. You don’t come across girls like that every day – whether in Nollywood or elsewhere. It was something else.
Why did you find it difficult to mingle like others?
I had no difficulty mingling. What I had issues with was entangling- copulating. And like I said earlier, I wasn’t ready because I was a virgin and I didn’t want to tell anybody.
I was always making excuses about why I couldn’t ‘get down.’ In fact this is one of the reasons my very short relationship with Genevieve was such a disaster. This is the first time I am admitting this publicly.
Genny and I met and became friends on the set of Mark of the Beast. Of course in her very early days. It was as though we were in some type of experiment. But I learned a lot about her within that short period. Two unforgettable moments- the day she introduced her little brother to me and the day she told me literally everything about herself. She trusted me that much. My mind was racing like crazy and I kept wondering how so little people knew about this young Amazon who was out to play the Esther for her family and did she? She felt like family to me.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t go further because of my funny little ‘virgin’ secret. Not that she solicited or asked for anything but of course, my body language was downright repulsive to that effect and it didn’t take anything for any woman with brains to figure it out. She was so full of pragmatic energy and so on-the-go- like woman on a mission. Never ready to play around with stuff she couldn’t put up with. I hope she’s still that way. She has got an incredible story to her glory.
If you have that kind of opportunity with Genevieve again, would you take things to the next level?
I don’t know what you mean by ‘the next level.’ But I would love to play by my rules book at this moment. However, there is not going to be any such opportunity. The young woman has moved on ever so predictably and I’m the happiest for her.
How do you handle those fans coming to you with crazy demands?
If you can’t grant some one’s crazy demands, it simply means that what you have to offer is incompatible with what they’re looking for.
So offer what you have. In other words, deploy your self control parachute as politely and diplomatically as you possibly can. You don’t want to get unnecessarily caught up in an ever blazing fan fury. It hurts sometimes.
Aside acting, what else do you do on the side?
I do business. I’m obsessed with new technology. At the moment there is a revolutionary product that I have been promoting in Nigeria. It is known as Atmospheric Water Generator. It is like a regular water dispenser but in reality, as the name implies, it produces water out of thin air.
I mean pure, clean, drinking water from humidity! Water produced by this machine is regarded as the purest, cleanest drinking water known to mankind today. It is more than business and I see it as a mission that is why I went into it.
You can read more about my business on Fountain Royale Atmospheric Water Generator. Or check it on our website at Aquavolve LLC where you will see machines that are capable of producing as much as 5,000 liters a day from the humidity in the air. Whole neighborhoods can be supplied and boreholes could be a thing of the past with our machines.
Now that you are back in town, what should fans expect from you?
Fans should expect some really good stuff from me. I have done like five movies and one TV series since I returned from the United States. I am currently working on a few others.
THE Ogun State Police Command yesterday, said it had rearrested Mr. Joe Chinakwe, who named his pet dog Buhari, noting that the suspect would be arraigned in court on Monday. It also stated that Chinakwe, who was earlier released a few days ago, was picked up again based on its belief that the suspect’s action was capable of provoking an ethnoreligious crisis.
Saturday Vanguard had exclusively reported the three-day detention and subsequent release of the 30-year old after the intervention of the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. He was taken into custody after one of his neighbours, who was later found out to be a Nigerien complained that the dog was named after his father, Alhaji Buhari.
It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case at Sango-Ota Division. Police sources had earlier told Vanguard that upon his release, the father of two, who hails from Ukwunzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and the complainant were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace.
In the light of these, the suspect’s arrest yesterday opened another page on the matter that had aroused public interest. However, the state’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that Chinakwe was rearrested yesterday to prevent the state from being plunged into crisis, adding that the complainant and his sympathisers had threatened to kill the suspect. He further stated that
the suspect was being held at the Criminal Investigation Department of the command, noting that the arrest was done to save Chinakwe’s life. In addition, the Police mouthpiece said the suspect, had confessed that he named his pet dog Buhari and had the name written on the body of the dog. His words: “The man is here with us. He is at the Criminal Investigation Department.
The charge will be prepared here and he will be arraigned at Sango Magistrate Court on Monday. “He is going to court on Monday because what he did was highly provocative.
It can cause an ethnic and religious crisis. We have to be proactive, we cannot fold our arms and allow the state to be plunged into crisis. “In fact, the arrest was made to save the suspect’s life because the complainant and his group have threatened to kill him if he comes back and this may trigger violence”.
Further investigation by Vanguard showed that the Police had not recovered the dog which may likely serve as evidence.
Chinakwe was arrested last Saturday after one of his neighbours complained that he named the dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.
Got married to my husband three years ago and some months, but my three years of marital bliss is nothing but confusion.
I met him on Facebook in 2008 and we met in person late 2011 and we got married in February 2013, but the person I thought I knew was a total stranger.. After our marriage I got to know my hubby do bed wet, but I take it with a good fate and started praying along with him.
I gave birth to my son August 2013, after the birth of my son, my loving husband started his fornication in 3d without control, I pray I begged, and even fought with him to tell me what am doing wrong but all these led to him beating the hell out of me, leaving me with bruises…
In Dec 2014, I caught him with a secret phone with over 50 contact which is only female contact from Eskimi dating site and some other place…I was very hurt so will had a big fight over it, but later settled… but after everything there is this particular lady that my hubby refused to let go, for the reason known to them, he flaunts their relationship in a coded way but I do find out…the problem now is any time I confront my hubby with this girl’s issue, he will deny it and even curse myself if he has anything to do with her..anytime we had any disagreement now first thing he says is I should leave him and go..
I’m really confused, is it man ego or there is no love left in my marriage?. This is the man I accepted in his darkest moment and I still keep my mouth shut about his bed wetting thingz..
Please note: we are still struggling to move forward, so money is not involved o…my son spent last term at home coz of money..
