Coming off the release of his single Faithful Woman in February, promising pop artist releases his own cover of the banging tune by DJ Timmy and Yung6ix- Respek on my name.
The cover has a reggae feel and shows the versatility of the promising act. Surely this is an artist to watch out for.
So we all know how singer and businessman, Lynxxx, has been on about being a born again somebody and all… Well, he recently complemented On Air Personality, Gbemi, who had an embarrassing ordeal with a restaurant in Lagos recently, after she shared a photo of herself on IG.
A fan felt the need to warn him about the OAP’s big butt which, according to the fan, may make him backslide from his kingdom pursuit.
Yeah well, I guess they’d be monitoring every of Lynxxx’s moves from now on…
When I woke up in my hotel room on Sunday morning, I opened my eyes to see my Olympic bronze medal lying there beside me. It just hammered home to me what I had achieved with the rest of my Nigeria team-mates the day before.
We beat Honduras 3-2 to get the bronze and secure Nigeria’s first Olympics medal in any sport since 2008. All of us went into the game knowing this and it put extra pressure on the squad to perform.
The team actually played very well for the most part. We controlled the game, I created three goals to put us 3-0 up and it was all very comfortable. But we conceded two late on and all of a sudden it looked like everything was going downhill. They made us sweat a bit and we were relieved to come out victorious.
I was obviously very clear before travelling to Brazil that my target was the gold medal. But to get the bronze is still an amazing achievement. There was a celebration at the hotel afterwards, we were all jumping around. Everyone was so excited.
But we managed to get everyone to sit down together and have a team meal. After everything we have been through, it was great to have something to show for it and we all thanked each other.
I went to sleep last night with my medal beside me; I couldn’t and didn’t want to let it out of my sight. It really is a dream come true for me, for my family, my two little angels – my twin baby girls – my wonderful girlfriend, who has supported me all the way.
I might take the medal to the Chelsea training ground to show to the other players – I hope I don’t make them jealous though! But first off all I want to celebrate with my family, put it around my daughters’ neck, take pictures and make sure they get to see what daddy achieved.
This experience has given me the hunger to do it again at the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020. I will be only 33 then and my game will still be at a high level.
I enjoyed every minute of being in Brazil and I have been talking to the other guys about playing in another Olympics. I’m already looking forward to it and the countdown is on!
It’s also provided me with a nice lift as I return to Chelsea. I will go back to see the manager [Antonio Conte] and see what his plans are for me. I want to get back into training and prove myself. I want to play and help the team to win games.
I know it will be difficult because I have missed most of pre-season and the coach has a new way of playing. But it is a positive thing for me that I have been playing well out here in Brazil and I’m in good shape.
I will need a few days off first because this tournament has been so draining. I arrive back in London on Wednesday morning and the game against Burnley on Saturday will come too early to feature in.
The plan is to have a little break, which is why the timing couldn’t be better as the season stops for two weeks for international fixtures after the Burnley game anyway.
It will give me plenty of time to enjoy my bronze medal and reflect on what has been a magical few weeks in my football career.

To start a new chat, click the text message icon in the left column and either click one of the contact names or start typing in the “Search Contacts” field. Your chat itself will appear in the right-hand side, and you can switch between any of them at any time.
Any message you send will be sent immediately to your contact’s phone, or any other device they happen to be using (including WhatsApp Web).
To start a new group chat, click the menu button (three vertical dots) and then “new group chat.” To log out of WhatsApp Web, click the menu button then “log out”.
Enable browser notifications
If you will like to see new text messages come in even when you don’t have the WhatsApp Web tab or window active, you can enable browser notifications. These will appear as small alerts in the corner of your screen. When you first open WhatsApp Web, you should see a message in blue just beneath your profile photo with the words “Get notified of new notifications.” Click the link below and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
If you want to disable or re-enable desktop notifications, click the menu button in the WhatsApp Web interface, then click “Notifications.”
As the quadrennial event which was held last at Rio De Janeiro, came to a close on Sunday, 21st of August, 2016, with a grand closing ceremony which had stupendous fireworks display and creative performances, incredible photos which were captured from moments of the events had emerged online.
With athletes of different shapes and sizes on display, the games also provided an incredible array of photos, capturing the emotion and beauty of elite sport.
Indications emerged, yesterday, that the 50-year-old businesswoman, whose discomposing body was found in her apartment last week at the Victoria Garden City, VGC, was allegedly murdered by her gate man, following an argument over the latter’s salary.
Vanguard was informed reliably, that the deceased, Mabel Okafor, who lived alone in her palatial duplex at House J68B, Close 9, VGC, Ajah, had no domestic worker except the gate man.
The gate man, with an undisclosed identity, was said to have resumed work about two months ago. He was reportedly brought by the deceased’s former gate man.
When Vanguard visited the house yesterday, security was beefed up in the area, with residents refusing to speak to this reporter. However, a resident who did not want his name in print, said:
“Nobody knew that the woman was dead until last Friday. We learned that she was stabbed last Wednesday, but it was not until her church members visited on Friday that they found her decomposing body.
The gate of the building was only bolted, but not locked when the church members came. One of them said they became apprehensive after several calls to her mobile telephone indicated that her line was switched off, prompting them to pay her a visit, only to be welcome with a stench from her room.
“Her body was found on the floor of the sitting room downstairs, with a knife protruding out of her stomach.
After her death, some gate men from the suspected culprit’s ethnic group said he had boasted that he would leave an indelible mark on her madam, following argument over increase in his salary.
They said he claimed he was being paid N20,000 but demanded for an increase of N10,000 but the woman refused. The fleeing gate man was quoted by some gate men here to have argued that he usually washed his madam’s car and also swept the compound.”
Another resident, who simply gave his name as Goke, said:
“Police have not been able to get the gate man since the incident occurred, neither have they been able to reach the one that brought him. In fact, the gate man went away with her phone. We have been warned several times to employ private guards from registered security companies, but some landlords here do not heed the advice.
Had the fleeing gate man been employed from a registered company, it would have been easy for police to get him. How can one who owned a property worth about N300 million not be able to employ the services of a registered security agents, but chose to go for cheap labour?”

The beautiful actress is going to be tying the knots with her beau not less than nine days from now in Greece and in light of this development in the actress’s life, she had a burlesque inspired bridal shower.
Colleagues like Rukky Sanda, Daniella Okeke, Emem Isong, Faithia Balogun, Bimbo Akintola, Ufuoma Mcdermott and more were there, having a whale of a time as they support the actress.
On Monday, August 22nd, the Imo state police command, rescued a 3-day old baby which was stolen by unknown child thieves barely 48-hours after his birth at the Chukwunonso Maternity in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.
While reuniting the baby with his parents, Mr and Mrs Oluebube Ekwedike from Umuezealaowerre Ehime Mbano LGA, at the command headquarters in Owerri on Monday, the Imo State Police Commissioner, Taiwo Lakanu, said that after the issue was reported to the police, the men of the command swung into action and arrested two suspects who were at the brink of selling off the baby.
The baby’s 21-year-old mother mother, Uchechi Ekwedike said she was tricked by the culprits in order to steal her baby.
The Commissioner said child stealing and trafficking still persist despite numerous warnings to people to desist from the devious act.
“My team, the entire Imo State Police Command, will not rest on its oars to ensure that criminal offenses are brought to its barest minimum in the state. It is so unfortunate that such barbaric behaviour still exists amongst our people. .
.
But the arrest of these ones should serve as a deterrent to other child thieves across the state and to make them realise that no matter how smart they are, the hands of the law will catch up with them.” he said.
While speaking to reporters, the prime suspect Mrs Ngozi Anyanwu, claimed that she stole the baby because the owner of the maternity home was owing her some amount of money.
Mercy Johnson took her fans by surprise about three days ago after she shared kinky photos of herself with a very slim waist – the actress was photoed on set wearing a figure hugging dress which perfectly outlined her quite slim waist.
Fans have been wondering how she came about the sexy figure 8 even after three kids – whatever the actress has got going on, it certainly is mouth watering! We were wondering which of her recent “slim waist” photos you liked best.
A man in India had two months swallowing knives and had 40 of them surgically removed from his stomach, according to the doctor who led the operation, Dr. Jatinder Malhotra told CNN.
“He had a wild urge to consume metal. Even for us, the experienced surgeons, it was frightening,”We were so nervous… a small mistake could have taken the patient’s life.
In my 20 years of practice, I have never seen anything like it.”He [the patient] says he swallowed some knives folded, and some unfolded. When we took out the knives, some were found folded, some were open, and some had even started rusting and were broken,” Malhotra said.
The patient, a 42-year-old father of two, told CNN he’s feeling much better.
“I’m sorry I let my family down. I’ll be forever thankful to doctors and hospital staff for saving my life,”I don’t know why I used to swallow knives,” the patient told CNN. “I just enjoyed its taste and I was addicted … how people get addicted to alcohol and other things, my situation was similar.” “I will never do such acts ever again,” the patient said. “I’m a new person now.”
Malhotra says the patient is now “out of danger” and is set to be discharged in a couple of days. He won’t be discharged until he’s cleared by psychiatrists, which is set to happen in a couple of days, two doctors at the hospital told CNN.
Malhotra believes the patient has a very rare mental disorder that most likely has not been published in any international medical journal.
The patient is currently under the continuous supervision of the hospital’s in-house psychiatric team and will soon be visited by independent mental health experts, doctors said.
The patient told doctors that he has no idea why he started eating knives but that he “developed a taste for metal” and “loved the way blades tasted.”
The patient even managed to keep his habit secret from his family, according to Malhotra.
The man in the photo above, identified as one 27 year old Mr. Sunday Onjefu, who is specialized in robbing ladies on Lagos traffic has been apprehended by the police.
Assistant commissioner of police, Yomi Shogunle, shared the news via Twitter earlier – see full photo of the culprit below:
Florence Obinim, wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim has defended her her husband for flogging two teenage members of his church for alleged fornication and attempted abortion.
In a video uploaded on Youtube, the gospel musician said had God not revealed to her husband that the two were planning an abortion, her family would have been ridiculed if the abortion had gone awry. She thanked God for using her husband to expose the two.
“Obinim has allowed himself to be used by God. As a mother, I didn’t even know my child was pregnant. If not for Angel Obinim whom God has gifted with visions, this would have been disastrous,” she said.
Mrs Obinim also used the opportunity to rubbish suggestions that her husband owed her an apology for allegedly reprimanding her in front of the congregation.
According to a controversial counselor, George Lutterodt, Bishop Obinim disrespected his wife and painted her in a bad light with the public reprimand.
However, Florence Obinim said the only time Bishop Obinim would chastise her in public is when God is at work.
“My husband has never reprimanded me in public. I have known my husband for years and he calls me honey and never by my first name Florence. So if he calls me Florence in public, then it is not him speaking but God at work. If he had reprimanded me by saying “honey” then I would have known that was my husband speaking,”
She continued: –
“At that time, the “Angel” was at work and so it’s not about husband and wife matters else God will disgrace you. So when he rebuked me, I knew it was God speaking. My husband has not wronged me in anyway so if you are asking that my husband apologises to me then it’s as though asking my father Jesus to apologise to me,”
Controversial Nigerian male Barbie, Idris Okuneye has moments ago, been exposed on Twitter as being a liar and a fraud with an addition of attempted rape.
This is after the said fraudster flaunted N7million naira cash yesterday on his Snapchat and claimed it was gift from his “bae”. That he was at the bank to cash and deposit the money and even had the police drive him home because he was afraid of being robbed. Lmao! See lie!
Little did this uncle know that as he shared this N7million drama yesterday, Nigerians were going to have their research and have all of his lies about the saga exposed.
In a series of Tweets by one infuriated Twitter user who lives in the same estate as Idris, the tweep revealed Idris had parked in front of Diamond bank in one snap, whereas, in another, he showed Nigerians an Ecobank official about to pay him and in another, the cash he collected was wrapped in Guaranty Trust Bank papers.
Enjoy the scandalous story below… as did I!
Idris’s fraud exposed:
According to the tweep who exposed Idris, Idris is a liar, a stark broke man who lives in a boys quarter in Lekki Phase 1 contrary to the lavish lifestyle he flaunts on social media. He has also been accused of rape by a man who once visited him.
This 21-year-old Zachary Penton, has been apprehended for shooting and killing his roommate after a fight, two days after tweeting about it – Authorities say a fight led to one roommate shooting another at a home near Chandler Heights and Higley roads.
Officers say 21-year-old Zachary Penton called police and told them he shot his roommate, 41-year-old Daniel Garofalo, after some sort of altercation.
Garofalo was pronounced deceased on scene. Penton was taken into custody without incident. He is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Just two days before the murder, Penton appears to have posted a threat on a social media account connected to his name.
“I need to move out of my place before I viciously murder my roommates”
Gilbert police said while they cannot confirm the account is Penton’s, they “are looking into the possibility.” Bond was set at $750,000 for Penton at his initial court appearance Monday after being booked on a murder charge.
Penton told police he scuffled with Garofalo after being told to move out and he feared for his safety before shooting him.
An eight-year-old British boy was killed after a hand grenade was thrown into his bedroom as part of an underworld feud involving members of a Somali crime gang in Sweden.
Yuusuf Warsame, from Birmingham, was sleeping in the apartment in the working class Biskops garden in Gothenburg when the explosive was tossed through the window and detonated.
Investigating police believe the house was targeted as part of a feud involving members of the Somali underworld. His father Abdiwahid Warsame today confirmed his son, who was visiting relatives in Sweden, had died in the attack, which is being treated as a murder.
Paying tribute to his son he said:
‘He was a lovely boy, a beautiful child. He was so well liked at school and really worked on his education.
‘He wanted to do well in life and not make bad decisions.
‘He was so well behaved, if he saw someone dropping rubbish in the street he couldn’t understand it. He would say: ‘Why are they doing that?’
‘He loved swimming, he was the strongest swimmer. He didn’t like football, swimming was his sport. He loved to play tennis as well.
‘He was just on holiday with his mum and his two brothers.
‘We don’t know why it happened yet, we are waiting for more information.
‘I will be flying out there to find out what has happened. ‘He was just a normal boy with his education ahead of him.’
The father-of-seven said two other people were injured in the blast. Yuusuf was born in Birmingham and went to Nelson Mandela Primary School in Sparkhill.
His parents, who have Dutch passports, and moved to the UK in 2001 own the Tawfiq Halal Meat and Grocery Shop in the city’s Whitmore Road.
There were at least five children and a number of adults in the apartment when the device exploded. But another family member said:
‘The room Yuusuf was in when the attack happened, was also occupied by our mother, sister and youngest brother.
‘It is a miracle none of them were badly injured, they only sustained minor injuries.’
A police spokesman said: ‘One of the people registered at this address is a person convicted by a district court for murder.’
The murder and last night’s attack are both believed to be part of an ongoing feud involving members of the Somali community.
19-year-old Ade (surname withheld), a 100 level student in one of the universities in the South West Nigeria, who recently made wrong use of Google when he used it to search on what he could do to a girlfriend who refused to abort a 2-month-old pregnancy she had for him, is currently in police net at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Oyo State Police Command, over an alleged murder attempt.
The teenage undergraduate after the search on Google, reportedly got a knife, went to his girlfriend’s house and stabbed her twice on the stomach and also slashed her throat on Thursday, August 11, at the residence of his girlfriend’s parents at the Sango-Alaro area of Ibadan at about 2:30p.m.
Speaking to Crime Reports during an interview, the suspect disclosed that he got the clue on how to resolve the issue of his unwanted pregnancy through the help of Google.
“I met my girlfriend about two months ago on Facebook. We had a mutual friend and I added her. She accepted my request and we got to know each other. I proposed a relationship to her and she accepted. We had sex only once on July 4. I did not protect myself.
“On August 10, she told me that she was pregnant. The next morning, on Thursday August 11, she called me that her parents wanted to see me. I went to her parents at Alaro area of Ibadan and they wanted to know what my intention was on the pregnancy. I suggested that she had an abortion but they said they could not abort for their daughter because it was against their belief. I told them that I would get back to them on Monday, August 15.
“I left for home confused, but on the way home, different thoughts went through my mind because I didn’t want my parents to know. I didn’t want to disappoint them. I was with my phone at home and I picked it and typed “What to do if my girlfriend does not want to have an abortion on Google”. It brought out different options that I can deny, which I didn’t deny.
“Another option was to convince her to have an abortion, which did not work. There were also other options but the last one was that I could kill her. I chose that option because she was the only one who knew my house and I believed that if I killed her, no one would be able to trace my house and I would get away with my action.
“To kill, Google gave me an option to use poison, which I knew no pharmacy would sell to me. Other options were to use a gun or a knife. Knife was easy to get, so I went to the market same day to buy a knife and returned to her house. I did not meet her at home so I called her and waited for her. When she came in, I attacked her with the knife but she was resisting. I stabbed her on the right and left sides of her stomach and slashed her throat.
“Unfortunately for me, her screams got to a neighbour and he came in. Coincidentally, he is a policeman so he handcuffed me and I was arrested. It was the fear of disappointing my parents that made me take the action,” he said.
It was learnt that for the presence of a policeman identified as Sergeant Ayeni Oluwafemi, who was the girl’s neighbour and who heard her cry, the 19-year-old victim would have died in a pool of her blood while his assailant would have escaped.
A 30-year-old man identified as Hassan Jamilu, who was paraded at a Gudu Upper Area Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for breaking into Shoprite’s cash room and attempting to break the safe.
Alhaji Umar Kagarko, who is the court judge, gave Jamilu an option of fine in the sum of N30,000 and warned him to desist from committing crimes, adding that the plaintiff, as a private organisation should file a civil matter for compensation.
The suspect was earlier arraigned on a three-count charge of criminal trespass, shop breaking and attempt to commit an offence of theft.
The Prosecutor, Patrick Ebong, had told the court that one Harrison Jatau of Pavilion Security Limited, Shoprite mall, Apo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on April 25.
He said Jamilu criminally trespassed into the said mall through the backyard, climbed the fence to the roof top and broke into the ceiling. He said the convict used a robe and dropped down into the cash room of the mall and attempted to break the safe.
Vanguard reported that the security alarm blew and the convict narrowly escaped and was eventually caught and arrested by the police on Aug. 15, after he was also captured by the CCTV installed within the rooms of the mall.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 348, 355 and 95 of the Penal Code. He also said the convict was arrested with pliers, scissors, two screw drivers, one flame mate burner and its gas, rain coat robe and an umbrella.

The student was alleged to have made a blasphemous statement against Islam and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and was consequently attacked by a mob.
The boy was said to have been beaten to pulp by the mob, and the man, whose name was simply given as Tajudeen, took him in his car and rush to a hospital. Enraged by the act of the man who rescued the student, an eye witnesses said that the mob moved to his (Tajudeen’s) house, set it on fire and killed eight persons.

Ubangari was said to have been ambushed, shot and killed while returning from an evangelical visit to Golkofa village.
The incident occurred few days after Governor Nasir El-Rufai condemned incessant herdsmen killings during a visit to the area.

In a country like Nigeria where lots of priorities are given to the way of life of each and every culture in the society, an individual only needs to be careful on the kind of Western culture they try to adapt to.
Especially these days that we find men especially doing jobs meant for women like hair making and the likes, it’s sometimes not easy for them to maintain their male personality as some start acting like the female folks because they deal more with them.
Such people, their manner of walking begins to change from male to female ways and they braid their hairs and wear studs just to feel belong and the end result of this is that the society tends to tag them as g@ys of which some of them are not.
For fasting rising fashion designer and model, Hagai Joshua, who hails from Bayelsa state, he has always been a victim of such allegations but he has been able to accept his personalities while craving for his passion in fashion.
While speaking with Nigeriafilms.com during the just concluded Africa Fashion week, the chap who stole the red carpet with his yellow colour outfit explained that studying Theatre Arts at the Igbenedion University, Okada, was to mold him into who he is today.
He stressed that the society has not been fair to him as he has been tagged with all kinds of name but he is happy that his family loves him the way he is and his girl lover who never abandons him.
“I am a model and an upcoming designer but as a model, I have faced a lot of challenges because if you really want to be a perfect model and a very creative one at that and you are walking on the street and you want to portray a look called mannequin and the next thing people will begin to wonder if you are normal, this can be so annoying but we thank God for everything.
“A lot of people have asked if I’m a g@y, he is so famine and different comments; the truth is this is just me, this is just my style but the truth is I am not g@y. I’m in a relationship with my girl lover (smiles),” he explained to Nigeriafilms.com
