Reports coming from Turkish media houses says that two blasts have rocked the Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, earlier today.
Multiple injuries have been reported at the airport, as the blasts are reported to have resulted from two hand grenades thrown through the entrance of the airport’s International Arrivals Terminal.
A witness told broadcaster CNN Turk that gunfire was heard from the direction of the car park at the airport, which is the largest in Turkey.
Four armed men were reportedly seen running away from the terminal building after the explosions, according to Turkey’s NTV channel
The first images to emerge from the scene show debris, including what appear to be ceiling tiles, scattered over taxis.

Well, the comedian has come out now to ease the motion by apologizing to the actress, stating that he won’t do anything to disrespect her or take her for granted.
Issuing a statement of apology on his IG page, with the photo above he wrote:
“Good evening ma @k8henshaw Before anything else just want to say am very sorry ma for the misunderstanding, so sorry for not following up after our last conversation about my show (Akpororo vs Akpororo which is taking place at eko hotel and suites July 8th) when you were out of the country the other day, I will never disrespect you or even take you for granted for any reason, I respect you so much ma, please pardon me ma. Thanks and GOD bless you ma.”
However, he didn’t specify that he was gonna take down her pic from the poster – guess he’s tryna clear the air.
A bricklayer, Femi Adebowale was on Tuesday sentenced to death by hanging for conspiracy and armed robbery.
Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of a Lagos High court, sitting in Ikeja found the convict guilty of a four count charge offence preferred against him by the Lagos state government.
She said the minimum penalty provided by the law is death sentence for each of the four account offence for which the convict was charged.
“In accordance with the provision of the law, you are hereby sentenced to death by hanging by the neck until death. May the Lord have mercy on us”, she said.
The Prosecution, Mr. Akin George had accused Adebowale of robbing one Alhaja Amudalat Olowo-Eyo of gold jewelries valued over N500,000.00; cash of N350,000.00 and other valuable documents at gun point.
The prosecutor said the convict, with others at large, robbed their victims on December 28, 2012 between 1.00 a.m. and 2.00 am at their residence, 10, Aiyetolu street, Abule Egba, Lagos.
The convict, when arraigned last year, had pleaded not guilty to the four count charge.
During trial, the complainant, Alhaja Olowo-Eyo had told the court how the convict and others at large robbed her at her residence.
She had told the court that she and her family were gathered in their parlour and told that they would waste their lives if they refused to cooperate with them.
She said she identified the convict as being among bricklayers brought in by her landlord for the renovation of the house two days before the incident.
She said that after robbing then, her husband was able to pin one of the robbers down, a situation that gave her courage to also held to another robber next to her.
In order to free himself, she said the robber shot her twice in the chest but that God kept her alive. She said colleagues of the convict who escaped came back 20 minutes later and rained bullets on their apartment.
She said one of her daughters was hit in the stomach, another on the back while her son was hit on the thigh. She said the incidence was reported at Ile Epo Police station while they were treated at the General Hospital in the area.
Delivering judgement in the matter, Justice Ipaye dismissed the alibi provided by the convict that he was away in Akure for his marriage introduction ceremony on the day of the incident.
She also described as not credible, the evidence provided by the supposed father in-law who told the court during trial he met the convict for the first time on the day of the ceremony.
Ex-leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo (AKA Tompolo) has expressed his wish to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on the Niger Delta crisis.
Tompolo who is still in hiding, in a letter to the President said the meeting would present him with an opportunity to tell President Buhari his own side of the story.
His letter reads in part:
“Today is exactly 31 days after the invasion of the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oporoza town, by your military led by Brig. General Faruk Yahaya of the 4thBrigade, Benin City, in search of me, with the allegation that I am the one behind the bombing and destruction of crude oil facilities in the Niger Delta region, and the incident happened in my absence, but I was informed that the army was on the loose, and committed so much abomination in the community. As I said in my previous publications, the military made away with the symbol of Authority of the Gbaramatu people from the Egbesu Shrine, [of] which I am the chief priest. They also made away with other valuables, worth several millions of naira, from the community. We are presently being treated like conquered people because of crude oil.
Mr President sir, please permit me to quickly recall a similar incident that occurred in May, 2009, when this same military invaded several communities in Gbaramatu kingdom, under the command of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Traditional worship centres were desecrated, property were looted and above all, the multi-billion naira ultra-modern magnificent palace of the pere of Gbaramatu kingdom was burned down, and his golden crown was stolen by the military. As peace-loving people, the kingdom approached the courts and demanded compensation for the unlawful invasion and destruction of property, in which the court awarded 99 billion naira in favour of Gbaramatu kingdom. After seven years of that sad incident, the Federal Government is yet to pay the compensation.
This incident also led to the declaration of the Presidential amnesty programme for peace to reign, as the government find out that military action is not the best way to address the Niger Delta question, and the rest become a history in the life of those who led that invasion. I believe Mr President should learn a lesson from the 2009 military invasion and do the needful.”

Comedian Akpororo who is having a comedy show on Friday, July 8th, has Kate as the event host on the flyer without her consent and the actress is not happy about it at all.
She has sent a warning note to the comedian and his team to do the needful by removing her name and image from the said event or face the consequences.

Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, yesterday, reiterated the Federal Government’s ban on Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Post-UTME, conducted by tertiary institutions for admission into universities and other higher schools of learning in the country.
Adamu told journalists in Abuja that any institution that violates the directive will be punished by the Federal Government.
He said: “The ban is with immediate effect and under no circumstance should any institution violate the directive. Those who have already advertised for the conduct of the Post-UTME under any guise should stop the exercise immediately.
“If any tertiary institution has already conducted Post-UTME, such an exercise stands annulled and money taken from candidates must be refunded immediately.”
He said the emphasis had become necessary to ensure that no stakeholder was left in doubt about government’s position on the matter.
He said: “For the avoidance of doubt, any educational institution, after secondary education, is regarded as a tertiary institution. Therefore, all tertiary institutions, by whatever name it is called, after secondary education, must be subjected to admission through JAMB.”
He added that universities were at liberty to expel any student who failed to meet up with the requirements for any degree enrolled for.
He said there was no empirical evidence to show that since the inception of Post-UTME, universities had been having better students, adding that students were still being expelled annually for low performance, even as they gained admission through Post-UTME.
He said parents and guardians spend fortunes on transportation, hotel accommodation, examination fees and sundry costs, just for their wards to gain admission into universities; while in some cases, parents die in the process of travelling to secure admission for their wards, a situation he described as painful and avoidable.
Adamu directed the National Universities Commission, NUC, and the appropriate departments in the ministry to communicate this directive to relevant agencies and institutions to ensure strict compliance.
Nigerian rapper, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, popularly referred to as Reminisce, has denied reports romantically linking him to Nollywood actress Adunni Ade.
According to the ‘Ibile’ rapper, the reports are fabricated. He added that they share the same manager and are seen at events together hence the assumption they are sleeping with each other.
