Fresh from winning the UEFA Champions League 2016, with his Real Madrid team, Cristiano Ronaldo, one who is probable to win the 2016 Ballon D’or says if his achievements are considered, then he’s the best player of the last two decades.
Speaking to Italian magazine Undici, Ronaldo says that he would rate himself as the best.
“Where would I rate myself amongst the top players of the last twenty years? Thinking positively, then I believe with what I’ve achieved, I’m the best of the lot.”
The football star is on international duty with Portugal ahead of their Euro 2016 opener against Iceland on Tuesday, and says he is “proud” to be an “inspiration” to Portuguese people.
“I feel like I’m a citizen of the world, but also a Portuguese man who loves where he comes from and is proud to represent my country at the highest level. After Euro 2004 I’ve felt responsible for being part of this great generation. I know a lot of boys and girls look up to me today as an inspiration.”
The football star was earlier announced as the highest paid athlete by Forbes with a net worth of a whooping $88m.
Daughter of Head of States, President Muhammed Buhari, Zahra Buhari took to her twitter page to make known, that her mother, Aisha Buhari, first lady of the country and her Non Governmental Organization, Future Assured, will be taking responsibility for the baby who was born with his heart outside his chest in Yobe on Monday June 6th.
The beauty said on Twitter:
‘Please to announce that @aishambuhari @FutureAssured will be taking care of the baby boy born with his heart exposed’.
So a Kenyan writer who was in the country for a few days revealed her observations on some reasons the women in her own country fall for Nigerian men.
Below is her article:
“Kenyan women love foreign men. That is an open secret. The further a dude is from Kenya, the better. Tanzania and Uganda is not ‘foreign’. Nigeria and anywhere in West Africa is. But foreign men think Kenyan women are cheapskates.
Our girls will bend all the rules to please Naija men. They don’t mind dropping their ‘feminism’ guns when a Naija bro comes knocking.
Take this example. A month ago, a video featuring a half-naked Kenyan girl dancing seductively for a man with a heavy Nigerian accent (who could only be heard in the background) went viral.
‘Shiro,’ the dancing queen, was dropping it like it’s hot, shaking what her mama gave her to the joy of her man who couldn’t hide his excitement.
“Turn, Shiro, turn!” Oga shouted in the typical Nigerian accent that made the word ‘turn,’ sound like ‘ton,’ as he encouraged the enthusiastic dancer to let loose in the four-minute clip, which he promised to delete after the show.
Trust me, if the man in question was a Kasyoki, Kamande or Ondiek, Kenyan women would have taken to the streets to protest.
Remember the controversial Nairobi-based Nigerian businessman Anthony Chinedu?
Before he was deported in 2013, he was quoted as saying, “We are doing Kenya a favour by marrying their women. I have never heard of a Kenyan man marrying a Nigerian…”
This led to a debate pegged on why Kenyan women fall head-over-heels for Nigerian men.
This writer spent a few days in Nigeria which gave her an opportunity to observe the Naija brodas, some of whom pointedly declared that it’s “cheaper” to maintain a Kenyan woman than a Naija one.
But are Kenyan women really cheap in the eyes of foreign men? Maybe, if you ask those Nigerian brodas our sisters love to bits. And this is why they are cheap according to the Ogas:
They are easy ‘chips funga’
For most Nigerian men, wooing their women is a ceremony. Damilola Sonji spent four years in Kenya and thinks wooing a Kenyan woman is much easier and cheaper than a Nigerian, since it’s hard getting as many one-night stands from them as he got in Kenya.
You see, a Kenyan woman is very different. You can meet in a nightclub and end up with her in your house without any expectations. Naija girls, on the other hand, expect you to bring down heavens for them. You might even end up buying a house for her before you can take her to bed,” claimed Damilola.
Desperate for cheap beer
While Kenyan women easily drown bottles of stouts (without mixing with soda), a Nigerian will only swill stout drinks at her local. The moment a Nigerian mama saunters into a club, there is man already ordering drinks for her. And it’s that dark and bitter ‘engine oil.’
Diana Bada, a Russia-born Nigerian musician, who was in Kenya for a month agrees that Kenyan women are, indeed, different.
“In Nigeria, it’s almost obvious that women don’t spend women in a nightclub. Our men take care of us and that’s their responsibility. It does not necessarily mean that you will go home and sleep with him. It’s just our culture,” said the musician who performed at Ole Sereni in Nairobi, in Kilifi and in Mombasa.
Diana says that she was shocked to see her friend panic when one of their Nigerian friends volunteered to drop them home.
“We went to eat at a Nigerian restaurant and it turned out that the owners knew my friend. They therefore offered us a car to drop us home and save us taxi money. We were even given clothes by the people who also own a fashion house. My friend almost had a heart attack thinking the man wanted more. It took a lot of convincing for her to realise that that’s how women are treated in Nigeria,” Diana told The Nairobian.
Sponsor mentality
Socialites have single-handedly convinced young girls that there is good life in Nigeria. In fact, nowadays most local girls are posing nude online, showing off their butts hoping someone in Lagos will take note and fly them out.
Nigerian musician, General Pipe, claims it’s not always as rosy as it seems in Nigeria, but is shocked at the lengths Kenyan women go just to bag a Nigerian man.
“I know one Kenyan socialite whose first visit to Nigeria was disastrous. She almost slept on the streets, but was rescued by a fellow Kenyan. She spent the rest of her days cosying up with any man with a nice pair of shoes.
Naija babes can make you pay for their flight to your country and never show up because they will somehow find a way to sell the ticket!” said the musician who lived in Kenya in 2012.
Kenyan women think it’s a badge of honour to sleep with a foreigner after knowing their surname. Folorunsho Agbede, a Nigerian teacher who was in the country for only a week, says she was shocked at the activities that went on in the hotel she was staying.
“It was a conference for Nigerian and Kenyan teachers and we were staying at a high-end hotel near Valley Road in Nairobi.
I noticed that our Kenyan female counterparts were sharing rooms with our Nigerian male colleagues just two days after we met. I know some of these men are married back at home, so this really came as a shocker. I’m not saying that we are perfect, maybe we are just difficult,” said Folorunsho.
They have low self-esteem
Kenyan women are not as confident as their Naija counterparts. Kenyan lasses are also more reserved. Olamide Ojuon, a Nairobi-based gym instructor, says he would date a Kenyan girl, but never marry one.
“I just feel that Kenyan girls are not confident. I wish I could show you the messages I get from girls I have broken up with and how they react. They always ask where they went wrong. If a woman is confident, she should know that she is beautiful and a man who leaves her is the loser.
I want an aggressive woman. I want to chase someone so when I get them, I won’t want to lose them. Maybe I can just find that back home,” he said.
They are willing breadwinners
A never-do-well Nigerian man can find a local lass who can take care of his bills, but for Nigerian women, that is a no-no. “A man should provide for you, your friends and family if possible,” reasons Chike Adobi.
“That’s his responsibility. For a Naija babe to get with a man, he must be willing to chop money.
Isn’t that the same in Kenya? No romance without finance, right?” she asked, but things are not the same here for some women who are willing breadwinners.
Kenyan girls marry ‘anyone’
Apart from a few cases of influential families, Kenyan girls easily get married to whoever they fancy and her family only get to know when she has three kids who are about to register as voters!
However, when a Naija girl shows interest in a man, her family starts researching his background.
“Marriage in Nigeria is a very big deal and that’s why women and men don’t rush into it. When a girl shows interest in a man, the family starts snooping just to find out his background. That’s why Naija girls are very choosy,” Nigerian musician Flavor told The Nairobian in a previous interview to explain why he was still single.
This certainly was when the going was good… isn’t it ironical that these two couples marital lives went amiss? And they looked like the perfect couples here in this throwback.
Toke’s marital mishap came early last year when she discovered her husband’s infidelity and she’s since then, been single and has been a topic of “Go and find your husband” ever since.
Tiwa, on the other hand, had her marital controversy few months and it still is a talk of so many mouths on Social media.
This then, was friends & family gathered at a Wedding dinner in Lagos held in honour of the couple, Mr & Mrs. Ayida.
Precisely three days after former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, passed on, it’s being reported that another Nigerian football icon, Amodu Shuaibu has died.

World’s shortest couple – who both measure less then three feet tall – have proven that size doesn’t matter when it comes to love.
Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Hoshino, from Brazil, both have forms of dwarfism and stand at 34.8in and 35.2in respectively.
The pair, who hope to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, said they met on a social media website ten years ago and started chatting on MSN Messenger.
Paulo, 30, who has a rare genetic condition called diastrophic dysplasia dwarfism, said it was love at first sight for him.
‘I found her very beautiful from the first moment I saw her,’ he said
But the attraction wasn’t mutual. Katyucia, 26, who has achondroplasia dwarfism, which affects bone growth, initially blocked him on the instant messaging site.
She said:
‘The first time I started talking to Paulo, he was really annoying. He had cheap-pick up lines.’
Paulo, who works as a legal secretary, said:
‘She thought I was trying to flirt but I was just being nice. According to her I was a really boring guy.’
That would have been the end of the matter, if Katyucia hadn’t suddenly decided to unblock him 18 months later.
Katyucia, who now owns her own beauty salon that has been specially adapted for her size, said:
‘One day something happened in my head and I went and unblocked him. By then he was already more relatable.’
Paulo said:
‘When she unblocked me, it didn’t take me more than a minute to say hello. we started speaking and she said I was more civilised.’
Two months later, Paulo travelled more than 186 milies to Katyucia’s home city of Londrina to meet her.He said he was bowled over by Katyucia’s beauty, but she was shy and unimpressed with his dress sense.
Paulo said:
‘What most attracted me to her, besides her beauty, was how sweet she was. It was her sweet personality.’
The beautician said:
‘He was wearing an orange shirt, jeans and sunglasses – thank God it has improved since then.’
Despite Katyucia’s concerns about the long distance between them, five days later the pair started dating and after four years they moved in together.
Katyucia said:
‘I had never dated before so Paulo is my first boyfriend, my first everything.’
Now they say they’re are like any other couple. Paulo has a specially-adapted car to enable him to drive, while Katyucia’s beauty salon has been specially modified for her height.
Paulo, who has ambitions to run for mayor in his home town of Itapeva, said:
‘Basically, we are a normal couple but our height is a little smaller. ‘The best thing about our relationship is our closeness, our companionship we have for each other.
Following the criticisms around her on how who she’s engaged to, Funke Akindele sure looks like she has no worries as she slayed in this astonishing orange for an event last night in London.
The stunning actress was recently apprised by one of her fans via an open letter on the troubles she could face if she’d marry her newly engaged beau, JJC. (See here)
We’re aren’t really bothered though, Funke is a big gurl and she sure can handle herself… Meanwhile, we are so loving this orange dress she donned though.
Foreign pop star, Chris Brown has revealed his rendezvous with the local police in Amsterdam after he was taken in and told to pay a fine.
In a video shared with his fans on Instagram, a quite calm and relaxed Brown explained that he was in a bit of trouble for riding a motorbike “without license plates“.
He said:
“Public service announcement: Kids, do not ride motor vehicles without license plates
“Sorry, we just bought the bikes, forgot about the license plate. yeah. So, we’re handling the situation as is.The police are really nice about it man. I actually like the police out here. Cool as s***, for real.”
The two under 30 drowned UNILAG students, Adesola Olubola Ogunmefun and Funmilayo Odusina, who drowned at the Elegushi beach earlier this week have been laid to rest.
The remains of the deceased were moved to Private Vaults Garden, a section of the Ikoyi Cemetry in Lagos.
At precisely 12:00noon, on Friday, the remains of the two were simultaneously committed to mother earth with their graves not far apart from each other.
NYSC fixed the 13th day of June for the Batch a (Stream II) Orientation Course for corpers and the Muslim Rights COncern, MURIC rejected the date arguing that the Muslim graduates expected to participate in the orientation will be fasting as the date clashes with their Ramadan fasting.
The group argues that it would be very strenuous for Muslims to be fasting and also participate in the challenges task set for them during their orientation camp.
The statement Reads:
“It is illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional for NYSC to hold camp at a time when its Muslim members will be deprived of their freedom of worship and the liberty to practice their creed without fear. This planned camp is exclusive, discriminatory and parochial.
We do not want to believe that the shift was deliberately planned to coincide with the Ramadan season with a view to excluding prospective Muslim corpers.
MURIC is not trying to indulge Muslim youths. Fasting is no joke and it certainly cannot be combined with the physical challenges which characterize the NYSC camp.
Firstly, morning drills in NYSC camps are known to be rigorous and the soldiers in charge will not take excuses. Dehydration sets in later in the day particularly in the hotter regions of Nigeria.
Secondly, adequate sahuur (early morning meal taken approximately between 4 am and 5.15 am) cannot be guaranteed in the NYSC camp. Neither can the futuur (meal taken at sunset to break fast ) be timely as camp schedules are bound to ignore and subsume this very important period.
Thirdly, attending orientation camp and partaking in the energy-sapping activities on empty stomach is an indubitable invitation to health crisis. NYSC may therefore be inviting Muslim corpers to step on landmines in the planned orientation camp if it holds as presently scheduled.
There is more to Ramadan than ordinary fasting. That is on the surface. The whole month of Ramadan is a period of spiritual dedication. There are so many other spiritual exercises in which Muslims engage, the tafsiir (exegesis of the Qur’an) session, the taraawih (late evening supererogatory prayers) and nawaafil (night supererogatory prayers). Only the deep can call to the deep. All these cannot be possible in the NYSC camp.” the statement read
Is it normal to get obsessed and stalk your boyfriend’s ex? A girl has found herself in the situation and doesn’t know how to quit the habit. Read her story.
*****************************
My name is Nomfuneko, and I’m 25. I’ve been dating this guy for almost half a year now, and he’s been really sweet and respectful of the pace I set. A few days ago, we had a conversation where I learned about his ex of three years. (He was only a few months out of that relationship when we started dating.) I couldn’t help myself and found her Facebook, and she seems much more extroverted and experienced than I am.
I know it’s terrible to look up an ex—it just makes me feel insecure and second-guess our relationship. It’s been great with him so far, and he’s definitely looking at this “long-term” Even as much as I want to concentrate on our relationship though, I can’t help but thinking about him saying the same things to his ex.
I understand that at this age, most guys have been in serious relationships, that she was once a special person in his life, and that they broke up for a reason, so I should just move on. But I don’t know why I’m feeling so confused right now. I would love to hear your advice on dealing with learning about ex’s and how not to second-guess things that my guy says now.
Henrietta Kosoko, wife of veteran actor and film maker, Jide Kosoko, who died suddenly on Monday, June 6,2016, left behind four lovely children – Taiwo and Kehinde Olowu, who she had before marrying Jide Kosoko, and Muyiwa and Temilade Kosoko, who she bore for the actor.
Meanwhile, the late actress’s funeral takes place in Abraka today. Her body left Gbagada General Hospital this morning for a brief lying in state at her 4, Olanrewaju Street, Chemist bus stop, Bariga residence.
It will then be on the way to Abraka (Delta) where a brief service will hold before her burial today.
Increasingly, men are making the effort to groom their facial hairs and we largely have ‘the selfie’ to thank for that, but some netizens feel that the rise of the Beard Gang confirms that the beard is to guys what makeup is to women.
Over the years, men have felt the need to criticise women for not daring to embrace their natural looks. The argument has been that a woman is truly beautiful if she does not have to rely on makeup to enhance her looks, and that guys do not have that luxury.
But, when Drake shaved off his beard just before a recent Saturday Night Life appearance, the ‘world wide web’ went into mourning. He suddenly went from say an 8 to a 5 on a scale of 10 as far as aesthetics go.
We may not all agree with Drake’s decision, but we can definitely agree that in its wake, the conversation on the role of the beard on a man’s face got 3-D real. Inspired by the reactions to Drake’s before beard and after beard looks, we have collated tweets that gauge how people feel.
Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Spiritual Leader of INRI Spiritual and Evangelical Church, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, has reacted to the demise of former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, saying he foresaw his death.
The cleric said he warned late Keshi to seek the face of God after the ‘vision’ he saw of him from God.
According to the Sun, Primate Ayodele said he wrote Keshi a personal letter after the South Africa 2013 Nations Cup campaign to intimate him of the divine revelations he got.
Ayodele said, “I have been in deep pains since I learnt of his death. Keshi was a soccer icon.
“He served Nigeria well both as a player and as a coach. I remember writing him a personal letter after the Nations Cup in South Africa and warned him to seek the face of God.
“He needed prayers and I told Nigerians then that Keshi has completed his assignment with the Eagles after the Nations Cup and that Eagles needed another coach to move forward.
“I have sent messages to the NFF and I hope they will listen. I have told them the Abuja Glass House needs some spiritual cleansing.
“On the Eagles, I have made it clear that what the Eagles need now is not a foreign coach. This is what God revealed to me. I’m not saying it to attract publicity or for any financial gain.
“Let Pinnick Amaju and his board look inwards for a coach. From what God has revealed to me, an indigenous coach will not only qualify the country for the World Cup, but will take the Eagles far in the competition in Russia. Bringing a foreign coach will be a disaster.
“They shouldn’t waste money on a white man. The crisis is not good for our football. If it is not resolved everything will be at a standstill and most of those sponsoring the game will pull out.
“There will be no money in NFF and the country will stop doing well. I just hope the gladiators will seek the face of God and know that the country’s interest and that of our youths should come first,” the cleric stated.
The body of Henrietta Kosoko left her residence around 3pm, on Friday, 10th of June, 2016 after lying-in-state rite and now on its way to Abraka, Delta for her final journey home.
The information was revealed by one, Yomi Fabiyi, Head Communications of the burial committee.
In his words:
“She will be buried in few hours. We apologize for the inconvieniencies the change in schedule and plans has caused anyone. We thank you all for your support and understanding”
As expected, it was a sober moment for her family members who couldn’t hold their tears as they stared at her intermittently in her coffin.
Controversial social media critic, Kemi Olunloyo is currently enjoying her strategic attention-seeking move of taking a jab at a veteran Nigerian actor, Jide Kosoko immediately after the demise of his wife.
The ex-governor’s daughter is alleging that family members of Jide Kosoko threatened her after her tweet calling for the investigation of Jide Kosoko over his wife’s death. She went on Facebook live to clear the air on her first tweet about Jide Kosoko being investigated for ritual over the death of Henrietta Kosoko who is his third wife to have died.
Kemi then went ahead to threaten Toyin Kosoko who had sent her a threat. In her usal manner, she dragged Pastor Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo, Bianca Ojukwu and Olamide into the discussion. She also threatened to expose the Toyin Kosoko that threatened her.
Read her message below:
“Good morning it’s June 9, 2016 live from Ibadan, Nigeria. I am Kemi Olunloyo. This video is a very serious one and is a stern warning to the daughter of Jide Kosoko. Earlier this week Jide Kosoko lost his 3rd wife Henrietta Kosoko. And I made it known on social media, I tweeted it and posted it on my Facebook that Jide Kosoko has lost his third wife and he is now a black widower. Well, he has actually being a black widower since he lost his second wife. A black widow is a woman who has lost one, two, three husbands; a black widower is a man who has lost two, three or more wives. It’s an English term, it doesn’t really say anything about the person whether they are responsible for the deaths or not.
“Last night, Toyin Kosoko came to my Facebook and left a threat. She said I’m really silly, I’m looking for people to visit my page, she said a bunch of crap and then she said wait till I see her she is going to get back at me. Toyin Kosoko you don’t really want to mess with me. First of all I’m going to drag you on social media. I am a social media critic; I’m a social media expert. I’m gonna drag you so low by the time you are supposed to be mourning your mum. This is not the time. I have the right to say what I feel as a person; the bottom line is that your father should be investigated for rituals that’s what I wrote. I did not say your father did rituals, I did not say your father used your mother for rituals. I said rituals are prevalent in Nollywood and should be investigated. I don’t like ritualism, when my father got involved in it I reported him and did a documentary for the world to listen to. It traps you and it takes a lot for you to come out and speak about your family.
I spoke about Olamide and how he visits ritualists for his music business. I don’t just makes things up, people tell me things and I verify them. When he refused to sign a female artist, what happened? Later on his male artists started leaving after he signed a female artist. It takes a lot of things for me to say the things I say on social media but one thing I will not tolerate is threat. Now we are in a civilized society right, you could sue me. Adeboye hasn’t sued me, Oyedepo hasn’t sued me, many of the public figures that I’ve talked about haven’t sued me even Bianca Ojukwu who said she does not know Femi Fani-Kayode and I told the world that she knows Femi Fani-Kayode and was pregnant for him twice while we were in London.
“Let me tell you something, everybody can actually go to court and sue me. When you sue me I will come to court and prove you wrong and you will lose and then I will sue you and you will pay me money.
“Your father has a fourth wife he should be worried about her safety and that’s my message for you Toyin Kosoko. Don’t mess around with me, don’t fool around with me, don’t threaten me that you’re gonna get back at me. You can’t get back at me unless you want to do rituals. If you threaten my life I have people waiting for you. Toyin, whoever you are wherever you are I will find out about you fast. This is Ibadan. Toyin Kosoko, this is my message for you, bring it on.”
My stern warning to Tosin Kosoko on THREATS to get back at me for calling Jide Kosoko a Black Widower who should be investigated for Nollywood style ritualism. I will mercilessly drag you down on social media.
BRING IT ON!!
The school identified as The St. John’s Basic School, in Accra New Town has been closed down following an attack on female teachers in the school by youth in the area.
Adom Online reports that the attack follows a decision by one of the teachers to ‘discipline’ one of the pupils for misbehaving.
One of thugs is alleged to be a boyfriend of the class five (5) pupil who was punished by her teacher for misbehaving. He had reportedly organised other youths to carry out the attack.
The hoodlums beat and chased out teachers who were mostly females. The thugs also made away with personal belongings of the teachers.
Students run helter-skelter for their lives as the heavily built men went berserk, beating up anyone within reach.
The Assemblyman for the area, Alexander K Mensah-Twumasi indicated that this was not the first time the student in question had shown disrespect to her teachers.
He said the matter has been reported to the police who have begun investigations into the incident.
“There have been reports that, that particular girl has been misbehaving in the school and anytime she is disciplined, she causes chaos in the school. We have reported the case to the police and I can assure you that we will try hard and bring the perpetrators to book” he said.
How beautiful those NYSC ladies look when they don their khaki shorts and leather boots, white tee, crown with their infamous NYSC caps… same applies for the guys how they look dapper too in their NYSC uniform.
But who says the NYSC uniform is just for the grown up guys and girls, who says younger kids can’t rock the uniform and look all cute and adorale yeah?
You can’t argue that this series of young kids wearing the NYSC uniform looks as adorable as can possibly be!

The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, gave an option of fine in the sum of N8, 000 and ordered that the convict should be given six strokes of cane.

Ebong said that the telephones were recovered from Okeke during police investigations. He said the offence contravened Sections 97, 348 and 288 of the Penal Code. Okeke pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.
Residents of Oke Ota community in the Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Thursday blocked the Ibeshe Road to protest against the rape and killing of a Ghanaian resident, Grace Obinna, by a man identified simply as Badoo.
PUNCH Metro gathered that apart from 27-year-old Obinna, Badoo had raped two other women in the area, cutting them with knives afterwards.
It was learnt that Badoo, who sneaked into women’s apartments only at night, had also struck in Ilemeren, Abule, Oluwoye, Ibeshe Titun, and other communities around Oke Ota.
It was gathered that the attack on Obinna, a mother of one, which occurred around 1am on Sunday, was Badoo’s latest, which had forced other women to relocate to houses outside the community.
It was gathered that on Sunday, Badoo broke the window into Obinna’s apartment and went into the room of the victim while her husband was away.
The assailant was said to have raped Obinna and hit her head with weapons.
It was learnt that when neighbours and local vigilance group members, who heard the victim’s cries, got to the room, the man had fled, while Obinna and her baby were in a pool of blood.
The publication gathered that the Ghanaian was rushed to two hospitals, but was rejected. She was confirmed dead at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
It was learnt that the matter was reported at the Ipakodo Police Division and the residents added that the suspect had threatened to wreak more havoc in the community.
The panic as it was gathered, prompted the Thursday’s protest, as residents blocked the Ibeshe Road and demanded that security agencies mobilise to the area to arrest the suspect.
When the publication arrived at the scene, the residents, including about 200 women, were seen holding leaves and singing solidarity songs.
The Chairman of the landlords’ association, Pastor Abayomi Adelakun, told PUNCH Metro that the man attempted to rape an 86-year-old woman in the community a week before the Ghanaian fell victim.
He said:
“Two weeks ago, he came to Oke Ota and attacked an 86-year-old grandma. He attempted to rape her, but when she resisted, he injured her in the nose. The woman was rushed to a hospital. She survived the attack.
“On Sunday, around 1am, I was called by a security man that Badoo had raped and brutalised Grace (Obinna), who was a teacher with a nine-month-old baby. When we got to the scene, I could not recognise the lady again. All her teeth had been removed; she was in a pool of blood. She was rejected at two hospitals, but confirmed dead at LASUTH.
“Badoo forces himself into women’s rooms, rapes and brutalises them if they resist. He was doing that in neighbouring communities and has now come to Oke Ota.”.
A resident, who gave her name only as Adenike, said Badoo usually sneaked into women’s apartments naked.
She said:
“We do not know the power this man is using. He does not steal; he only sneaks into women’s rooms and rapes them. After the act, he uses a handkerchief to rub the victim’s private parts. Women, who have seen him at night, said he also rubbed oil on his body and walked naked so that no one could easily hold him. All of us can no longer sleep in our houses.”
The Baale of Oke Ota community, Chief Awoyemi Tijani, told PUNCH Metro that his wife also could not sleep at home because of the attacks.
He said:
, “Nobody has seen him in the daytime. I don’t know what he looks like. We call on the government to guarantee our security and safety. Since the day we heard about this, my wife no longer sleeps at home. I am wondering if Badoo is a spirit.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
She said:
“The command learnt about the protest, although the incident of rape and murder was never reported at the division. All necessary mercenaries have been set in motion to arrest the culprit and to forestall a recurrence.”
