The remains of a retired captain of the Nigerian Army, Friday William, found dangling on a mango tree outside his apartment in Calabar, have been taken to his hometown in Mkpat Enin, Akwa Ibom State.
The father of eight, according to a neighbour, Abasi Imoh, allegedly tied a rope on the mango tree outside his apartment at 34, Edim Otop Street in the night while his family was asleep and hung himself for a reason yet to be ascertained.
“We woke up in the morning to behold the body dangling on the mango tree outside the compound and we do not know what was responsible for his action”. Abasi stated.
The neighbour said before hanging himself, the retired captain reportedly sent a text message to his son, who lives in Port Harcourt at about 10pm, to condole with him over his death and advised him to be strong to take care of his siblings.
“He sent the text to his first son at about 10 pm to condole with him over his own death, but the son did not see the message until he got a call the next morning that his father had committed suicide and I feel he had tied the rope ready for the act before he sent the text”.
Abasi said the man had about three cars and got a lot of money from his retirement benefits two years ago and was living well which is the reason many people are surprised with his action.
‘He was not poor because he had three cars and had built a house in his village and was generally doing well that is why we were surprised with his action”.
A pastor’s wife of 12 years has done the unbelievable by dumping her husband to venture into prostitution.
According to H-Metro, Sandra Deshe, 33, is staying with two other women in Ruwa, Zimbabwe where, according to her landlord, different men visit them in their lodgings for s*x.
It was gathered that the woman had terminated her marriage with the pastor husband by returning their wedding ring, wedding certificate and packed her belongings along with her four kids accusing him of abusing one of her children she had before she got married to him.
It was gathered that before the shocking incident, Sandra was an ardent follower of the conventional church and a good christian. She has now left the husband identified as Sanyahumba who is a bible vendor and street preacher.
However, Sandra has denied venturing into prostitution saying she is selling ladies lingerie and cups to earn a living following her separation with Sanyahumba; she described him as cruel.
“I told my husband that I was no longer interested in living with him as my husband because he is so cruel.,whenever he came from selling bibles he would be a threat to kids that they faked retiring to bed in fear,” said Sandra.
“Ndakaona kuti handingagare nemurume akadaro even church elders and relatives failed to solve the matters and I was left with no option other than removing my wedding ring and waving goodbye to him.
“I hired a vehicle to ferry my few belongings after informing him of my intention to leave him and took my children and left his house in Windsor Park.
“As for prostitution allegations these are my sisters Mai Natasha and Sabina; we live together and we are not prostitutes as alleged.
“I am earning a living from selling panties and my clients are not found in public bars.I will not look at any other man and should I feel any need for one,I would rather return to Sanyahumba.
“I am still going to church,” said Sandra.
However, Sandra’s new landlord revealed that Mai Natasha, Sabina and Sandra became his tenants a month ago and they openly told him that they are not married.
“Sandra and her friends are all my tenants and they stay together after they openly told me that they are not married,” said the landlord.
“Various men come here to visit them and I do not know if they are the fathers of the children being nursed by Sandra and Mai Natasha; Sabina does not have children.
Narrating his part of the story, Sandra’s husband said: “My wife divorced me and my worry is about my children after I heard that she has joined ladies of the night and I do not blame her much because our church elders ended up bedding her after she took our differences to their attention.
“I lost my temper one day and I exchanged the Bible I sell with fists and the matter ended at Ruwa police station.
“I love my wife and my children ,she accused me of ill-treating mwana wake wandakamuroora ainaye, ndaingomutumawo semwana wandakarera since we got married when the baby was two months old,” Sanyahumba said.

Ice Prince, has announced that he is no longer signed as an artiste of popular music label, Chocolate City.
Ice Prince made the revelation on May 19, 2016, when he was on interview on Cool FM, stating that he has been out of contract with the label for the past three years according to reports.

Following the reports of a Chibok girl rescued from the wearisome Sambisa forest and meeting with the President yesterday, a new photo has emerged online of another girl who was kidnapped by the treacherous Boko Haram insurgents, being rescued.
The news of the girl’s rescue was announced by the army last night.
Army spokesman Col. Usman Sani Kukasheka said her name is Sarah Luka, who is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka, one of the parents of the missing girls.
Col. Kukasheka said last night that the girl is number 157 on the list of the 219 Chibok girls in captivity.
A statement signed by Col. Kukasheka said:
“At about 11.00am yesterday, Thursday, 19th May 2016, troops of 231 Battalion, 331 Artillery Regiment (AR), Detachment of Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) 2, Explosive Ordinance (EOD) Team and Civilian Vigilante group of Buratai, conducted clearance operations at Shettima Aboh, Hong and Biladdili general area in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.During the operations, the troops killed 35 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered several arms and ammunitions and other items. In addition, they rescued 97 women and children held captives by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“We are glad to state that among those rescued is a girl believed to be one of the Chibok Government Secondary School girls that were abducted on 14th April 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“Her name is Miss Serah Luka, who is number 157 on the list of the abducted school girls. She is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka.
“During debriefing the girl revealed that she was a JSS1 student of the school at the time they were abducted.
“She further added that she hails from Madagali, Adamawa State. She averred that she reported at the school barely two months and one week before her unfortunate abduction along with other girls over two years ago.
“She added that there other three girls who fled from Shettima Aboh when the troops invaded the area earlier today which led to their rescue.
“She is presently receiving medical attention at the medical facility of Abogo Largema Cantonment, Biu, Borno State.”

MY VERSION OF THE STORY

I have read all the tirades and accusations levelled against me by Mandy Isaac on Social Media and for posterity and records purposes, I need to state my side of the story. Yes, it is true that we are friends but we stopped dating in June 2015. However, we started again in December 2015.
Our last date was on Wednesday, May 16th, 2016 in my residence and in spite of Mandy telling me that she had stopped drinking, she requested for alcohol which I did not oblige her.
However, I later found out that she had drank 2 cans of Vodka (picture below). I went out to withdraw some money and she stepped out too, after having taking possession of my phone.
When I returned, she got back and accused me of talking to ladies and insisted she had to leave that night. I pleaded with her but she said she would leave and I gave her N2,000 as Transport fare.
In her semi-nude state, she flared up, demanded for N50,000 and called me unprintable names. Later, she went berserk and started destroying things in my house (See pictures below) before she started rolling herself on the floor.
I got a call the same night from a female police officer at ketu Police Station (I was NEVER ARRESTED) who asked that I report at the station that night or the following morning.
I could not go to the police station that night because it was already late (some minutes past 11:00pm) but I made sure that I got to the station as early as possible (8:00am). To my surprise she never showed up even after my call at the station.
It is unfortunate that this happened to me but I am not only a responsible man but I also work in a responsible organisation that values and cherishes its publics.
This is a deliberate attempt to frame me and I call on investigative Journalists to go deeper than the story and either vilify me or corroborate my claims.

Members of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP), have intimated that they are mobilizing their members all over the country to embark on what they call the mother of all protests » to register their anger over the high cost of living in the country occasioned by the increase in the pump price of petrol.
The body in a statement signed by its new leader, Tamar Tion who took over after the demise of former President, Jessica Elvis , and Secretary, Sandra Efosa, their decision to embark on the strike, stems from the fact that their business » has been dwindling as their customers do not have have the money to patronize them and as such, they have been suffering untold hardship.
Part of the communique released by the body after its national executive meeting reads:
“The members of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP), has concluded plans to embark on a mother of all protest to show our anger on the current economic hardship the citizens of Nigeria are passing through.
The hardship has affected every facet of the society including our business as our customer base has diminished and the few men that seek our services do not have the money to pay, even after many of our members have reduced their prices drastically.
Some of our members charge as low as N500 and yet, the customers complain because they do not have the money. We supported President Muhammadu Buhari when he was campaigning, believing he was going to bring about the desired change.
But now things have gone from bad to worse. We are bread winners in our families and some of us have lots of responsibilities. Since this government came into power, things have sky rocketed. And to add to our woes, they have increased the fuel price, making the ordinary Nigerians the worse off.
We are mobilizing our members all over the country to embark on the protest on a date to be announced soon. We will occupy the National Assembly, the various state secretariats and picket the PHCN, NNPC and other parastatals. We are Nigerians and we pay taxes, so we also feel the pains.”
Cinematographer and TV host, Kemi Adetiba has revealed she’s not intimidated by her male counterparts. And has never bedded any man to get ahead in her career.
Speaking in a recent chat, she said:
“If I’m being intimidated by my male counterpart, then I will not be where I am today. I did not pay or sleep with anyone to get to where I am today. One of those deep things my mum taught me from the very beginning was that, when you work, you have to work harder than the next person. That way, you can be rest assured you will make it.”
She also noted some of the challenges she faced in her line of business and conquered.

The name Abubakar Attahiru, has been trending on Facebook after a final post he made two days ago shortly before his death, went viral.

The man identified as Leroy Hobson and his two sons; 3yrs and 5yrs were involved in a ghastly auto accident that claimed their lives along Highway 18 in Rankin County, Mississipi, USA.
Hobson was driving a Ford Windstar when he lost control and crossed over into the other lane and was struck by a Lexus GS 300.
His wife, Kenisha Hobson was lucky to survive the accident with injuries, but Hobson and his two sons sadly perished.
Leroy Hobson and his two sons were buried in the same coffin on the 9th May 2016.
