Daily Trust reports that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the operations of Bristow Helicopters’ Sikorsky S-76X++ type, following the crash landing incident in Lagos on Wednesday.
Although there were no casualties involved, the NCAA states that due to the frequent incident of crashes involving the aircraft type, the operations of the series will be halted in order for a full scale audit to be carried out particularly on the Sikorsky S- 76C++ type.
The Director General of NCAA, Capt. Mukhtar Usman, who made the announcement at a press conference today, also stated that the suspension was standard procedure to confirm the adequacy and propriety of the operating aircraft type.
“This is not new in the industry, it is one of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) all over the world”, he said.
The first Bristow crash with the same type of Helicopter, which killed six of the 12 passengers on board including the pilot and co-pilot, was recorded in August 2015.
The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has said that the the anti corruption war waged by President Muhammadu Buhari is yielding success which has led to the delisting of the country from the list of corrupt countries as compiled by Transparency International (TI).
In a press statement signed by the group’s national coordinator, Muhammad Labbo and the secretary, Cassidy Madueke, yesterday in Abuja, the group said that the campaign is gradually changing the image of the country to one where corrupt acts are no longer welcomed.
The group added that in the latest ranking of corrupt countries in the world over by TI, the name of Nigeria is conspicuously missing.
According to the BMSG, the anti-corruption war of the president, despite the cynicism of partakers in the ruinous looting of the country, is having the desired impact, nationally and internationally and has unmasked the true colour of many prominent persons and wealthy individuals in Nigeria.
So, Earlier on a Lagos Disc Jockey by the name – Infamous DJ-K accused Nigerian-American rapper Wale of rudely confronting him at the popular club Nitro in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the DJ, Wale was upset that his songs were not being played to the end.
An altercation allegedly broke out between the two, and Wale is said to have punched the DJ and smashed his laptop.
Now, the DJ chose to vent on Twitter in a series of tweets that are now gaining attention.
Wale, who reportedly left Nigeria today, is yet to speak on this allegation. Instead, he tweeted, “Still here ignoring negative energy.”
Following the downward slide of oil price in the International market, international oil firm, Royal Dutch Shell says it is cutting down on 10,000 jobs.
Chief Executive of the company, Ben van Beurden, said this in a webcast on its 2015 fourth quarter and full year results early today February 4th..
“We are making substantial changes in the company, as we refocus Shell, and respond to lower oil prices. As we have previously indicated, this will include a reduction of some 10,000 staff and direct contractor positions in 2015-16 across both companies.” he said

In 2010 9ice released a song that made a lot of people wrongfully drag me into a terrible situation. People who miscontrued the song and it created a rumour .
A terrible false rumour that was fueled by journalists and bloggers who were only after hits on their sites.
Bloggers and journalists who did not care to investigate and confirm a rumour, but chose to print and post it anyways not caring who got hurt in the process.
I remember pleading my innocence and that of Toni Paynes but social media people being who and how they are,chose not to listen.
I remember calling 9ice on the phone CIA style to talk to him about it and he was clearly heard admitting the song was not about myself or Toni Payne, but social media people being who and how they are, chose not to listen.
I remember asking 9ice to publicly clear the air on the terrible rumour,but was shocked when my friend said he would not because he was busy and didn’t have time for such. Again nobody wondered why.
Fast forward 2016. six years later and I was surprised when i heard that 9ice has finally come out to say i never slept with his wife and the song was not about me and even apologised on top.That he has finally come out to say the truth about the issue that cast a negative shadow over my head and that of his ex wife for six years.

Yesterday, we reported the story of a man beaten up by young cadets of the Nigerian Army because he allegedly complimented a female officer.
Now the Nigerian Defence Academy have reacted to the story. According to the academy, their investigations shows that the incident happened in Lagos in 2014 while the cadets were on break.
They intend to pursue their investigations to the fullest as they will not tolerate such behaviours.

The multiple award-winning actor and filmmaker was born Desmond Olusola Elliot on February 4, 1974 into a polygamous home of two wives and 11 children.

Well, the rapper scheduled a recent interview/photoshoot with DuJour magazine at his home, and when reporters from the mag got to his house, they claim they saw Tyga kicking out a Kylie-look-alike from his house.

Yesterday, photos of a young Ghanaian diagnosed with terminal cancer surfaced on Facebook.
The boy had asked to see the insides of an aeroplane for the first time, and the hospital staff teamed up with Delta airline at the Kotoka Airport in Accra to grant the young child his dying wish.
Ghana Celebrites reports that his parents couldn’t afford the medical treatment the child needed and left him at home until his condition deteriorated.

There were reports recently that the Real Madrid star had been banned by his club’s president Florentino Perez from making constant trips to Morocco to see kick boxer friend, Badr Hari.

US President Barack Obama visited a Maryland mosque on Wednesday to deliver a simple message at a complex time.
“We are one American family,” President Obama told the gathered crowd at the Islamic Society of Baltimore. “We will rise and fall together.”
Obama sought to reassure Muslim Americans that the country considers their community essential to the makeup of society, condemn the claim that all Muslims are terrorists, call on the Muslim community to also condemn terrorism, affirm religious freedom, and explain to the whole of America what Islam is and isn’t.
And with the rise of ISIS and in the wake of the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, the president had a lot of ground to cover in the 45 minutes he had to speak.
“We have to reaffirm that most fundamental of truths—we are all God’s children, all born equal with inherent dignity,” Obama said.
He started by telling the story of Islam in the U.S. from a historical perspective, bringing the audience back to the nation’s founding. “Islam,” Obama said, “has always been a part of America.” Muslim slaves ripped from Africa and brought to the U.S., Obama said, did not leave their religion at the shore.
He added that religious liberty guaranteed in the Constitution didn’t come with an asterisk, quoting Thomas Jefferson’s declaration that “the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan [or Muslim]” were all to be protected.
Looking out across the room, he marked the contributions of Muslims within American society. He asked the service-members in the audience to stand and thanked them for their service. He cheered Ibtihaj Muhammad, the champion fencer who will become the first U.S. athlete to compete while wearing a hijab during the 2016 Summer Olympics.
“Muslim Americans are some of the most resilient and patriotic Americans you’ll ever meet, he said.
And through the personal letters he gets from Muslims of all ages across the country, he noted the fear many feel just being themselves.
President Obama spoke of a mother whose “heart cries every night” thinking about how her child could face taunts and bullying at school.
He mentioned a 13-year-old girl from Ohio who simply wrote, “I’m scared.” Before the speech, the president got a sense of how Muslims are feeling first hand.
He sat down with about a dozen people from across the country for open dialogue about the state of their community.
Obama slammed “inexcusable” anti-Muslim rhetoric. “An attack on one faith is an attack on all our faiths,” he said. “We can’t be bystanders to bigotry. Together, we have to show that America truly protects all faiths.”
The president’s historic first visit to a mosque while in office had been long awaited by many, but for some—like Sabah Muktar, the young woman who introduced the President on Wednesday, it came just in time.
“This visit by our president is an affirmation to all Muslims we are just as American as any other,” she said.

Yesterday, TVHost, Krystn Enem of Africa Magic Urban called out reggae-dancehall singer – Burna Boy on Twitter for standing her up thrice and making her look like a fool after he previously agreed to do an interview for her show, but he later failed to show up.
According to the TV Host, her team reached out to Burna Boy’s manager who happens to be his mother and after days of deliberation and even cancellation, they agreed to hold an interview yesterday, but then again the singer stood her up three times, ruined her other plans for the day and when asked why he failed to show up, Burna Boy’s mother said he was not ready (at 6:30pm) and hadn’t taken his day’s bath.
Upset by the fact that she had waited from noon until evening for him, the angry TV host took to Twitter to explain all that happened and cursed out at him.

New Not To Self: Never Compliment a Female Officer.
Here’s a video which shows a group of young cadets torturing a young boy over claims that he said a female officer was beautiful.
From the video, young officers are seen hitting the boy who was made to kneel, a female officer slapped him countless times, and later, stomped on him.
That was not enough. The boy was dragged and undressed as the punishment continued.
The video is shocking to watch, but the names and location of the inhumane treatment were withheld by the media house.
Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, has said he has been receiving death threats following controversial tweet stating that Ghanaian presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, would loose the elections.
The actor turned politician had stirred some controversy and animosity after he tweeted that he did not see Addo winning the 2016 elections, pointing out that he had nothing against him.
The 32-year-old actor who had endorsed the present President, John Dramani Mahama, for second term, had received serious criticism after previously shaming his administration for incompetence.

“I keep on receiving threatening messages from anonymous persons. They are threatening my life…so many things for making a statement. But I give everything to God. They are issuing the threats on social media, anonymous phone calls and things. ” he stated
Dumelo went on to add that he feels safe at the moment and is yet to report the issue to the police.
”I think it has not gotten to the point of reporting to the security yet. I am a very security conscious person. Wherever I go I just have this security thing around me. I just don’t stay at a particular place at a time”
He added that he is very security conscious and believes he is good on his own for the time being.
