A woman has taken to social media to lament bitterly after making what she thought was a sound financial decision that turned around to affect her negatively.
She claimed to have transferred all of her money and real estate to her brother, but the latter’s wife just filed for divorce and is seeking half of his properties.
The woman said in a letter to Ssalongo Ssali, a financial expert in Uganda, that she had been saving and buying properties without telling her husband.
She did that in case her husband tries to divorce her, unfortunately, her brothers’ wife who is aware that she fixed her assets in his name still wants half of the properties in the divorce settlement.
The distraught woman has asked for advise on what to do now that her sister-in-law with to kids wants to claim her properties through the divorce.

“I am a married woman and a mother of 3 kids. My husband is financially well off. I am working at my professional job and he left me with full authority and freedom to manage my finances as i wish.
I have saved and by God’s grace, i have secretly accumulated a number of property including rentals, various plots of land, taxis for business etc. To be honest, i registered most of my property into my brother’s names with fear that in case my husband divorces me, i have all my property and i move on.
Unfortunately my brother’s wife of 2 kids has recently filed for divorce and wants more than half of his property and fortune. To make matters worse, she is aware of all property registered in her husband’s names including my investments! And she’s very serious with divorce and property sharing!
I really regret why i did this! How can i save my investments? Advise me.”
A pastor has accused a member of his church of engaging in oral sex in front of his entire congregation.
Evangelist Ebuka Obi called out a male church member to the front of the church for prayer.
However, before praying for the man, he accused him of performing oral sex and warned him to stop.
“Stop putting your mouth in a woman’s private part,” Emeka Obi said.
The member did not deny the accusation and only smiled.

Retired Nigerian footballer and Super Eagles legend, Jay-Jay Okocha, has said he would have cost €150m in today’s transfer market.
Okocha, who played for various clubs during his career including Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers, and Fenerbahce, was known for his skillful dribbling, excellent technique, and ability to score spectacular goals.
He was also a key player for the Nigerian national team, helping them win the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and 2013.
In an interview with Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the 49-year-old football star said he would have been sold for €150m if he was playing in the current transfer market. He stated this while speaking on the high fees clubs now pay to buy players.
“Maybe 1 billion should have been paid for me,” he said.

A 38-year-old Nigerian man, Dr. Barde Luka Yelwa, and his wife Godiya have passed away two days apart.
Dr. Barde, a lecturer in the Biology Department at Umar Suleiman College of Education Gashua, Yobe State, died on Thursday, April 20, 2023, after suffering a heart attack in the hospital where he was taking care of his sick wife.
Two days after his death, on Saturday, April 22, his wife also passed away. The couple left behind two children, a 5-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old boy.
They will be laid to rest on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Dagare Village, 10 km along Bauchi-Jos Road.
Meanwhile, friends, family members, and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the couple.

In other news, a Kaduna-based woman, Karima Nuhu, has sued her husband, Musa Falalu, for allegedly failing to take her to Saudi Arabia.
The 45-year-old sued her husband at a Shari’a Court sitting in Rigasa, Kaduna, on Tuesday, April 18.
Karima Nuhu told the court that she had been married to Falalu for four years, during which he provided her with food for only two months.
“He told me that he lost his job as a driver but had secured another one in Saudi Arabia, urging me to be patient while promising to take me along. So far, I have been the one feeding myself. I even borrowed money including my savings for him so that he would be able to pay for the trip, but after getting what he wanted, he divorced me,” she said.
When asked if she had any witnesses to present in court, she replied that she had none except God, who would judge them on the last day.
The defendant, however, denied the allegations as he revealed that he had divorced the complainant.
The presiding judge, Malam Anass Khalifa, who confirmed the divorce between the couple, said the court would only listen to the complainant’s claims if she had witnesses.
Kenyan police have exhumed 47 bodies from their graves in Malindi, a coastal town in the southeastern part of the country.
The deceased, who are said to be members of the Good News International Church, were reportedly instructed by their pastor, Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, to starve themselves to death in order to “meet Jesus”.

According to the Kenya Broadcasting Station (KBC), 58 graves have been identified so far, and dead children were also exhumed.
BBC also reports that 15 members of the church were rescued alive from shallow graves in the Shakahola forest.
Pastor Nthenge was arrested on April 15 after authorities uncovered four corpses believed to have died of starvation.
This prompted more research, which resulted in the discovery of more graves and corpses. Meanwhile, the clergyman, also known as the ‘cult leader,’ has denied committing any crime.
A police source who spoke to AFP news agency said,
“In one grave, investigators found the bodies of three children with their father on one side and their mother on the other side. Another grave contained the bodies of a woman and a girl, both facing each other. All appeared to have died in recent weeks.
“Police have identified at least 58 suspected graves on the grounds of the Good News International Church, raising fears that the death toll will rise significantly. One Kenyan media outlet reported that more than 100 people may have been buried in the graves.
“We have not even scratched the surface which gives a clear indication that we are likely to get more bodies by the end of this exercise.”

The young man, identified as Chinedu Ihekwoaba, admitted on Twitter that being with his ex-girlfriend made him feel less of a man because she was too independent.

Popular Nollywood star, Jim Iyke, recently hit back at an Instagram follower who tried to troll him over a photo he shared on his Instagram page.
The actor had posted new photos of himself wearing a green shirt, white top, and white sandals, with the caption “Vibes.”
However, in the comment section, the follower took a swipe at Jim Iyke’s feet, advising him to keep them hidden from public view. According to the IG user, the actor’s feet are not worth being showed off online.

As expected, Jim Iyke, known not to tolerate any form of disrespect, fired back at the troll. He told her to remove herself from the public space, as her face was not worth seeing.

Nigerian clergyman and actor, Mike Bamiloye, has averred that many women are not ready for marriage despite nearing the age of thirty.
Taking to his Instagram page on Monday, April 24, the cleric said many women are more focused on preparing for their wedding than learning how to make their marriages work.
He said some women can’t cook a decent meal and are used to eating fast food and junks, while others can’t pray fervently and have shallow knowledge of the word of God.
He decried their level of unpreparedness for marriage and said their eyes would open to the reality of marriage after their wedding.

Akindele, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was the first female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

Popular Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, was forced to defend himself against an anti-fan who wanted to attack him on stage.
The scary incident took place at his much-anticipated ‘Timeless’ concert at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos on Sunday, April 23.
In a video that has gone viral online, Davido can be seen performing his hit song ‘Fia’ when the man climbed the stage and lunged at him from behind.
Fortunately, Davido was quick to react as he turned around and almost punched the anti-fan before security intervened and took him away.
The video has caused a huge stir on social media, with many praising Davido for his quick thinking and ability to defend himself.

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido and his close friend, celebrity barman Cubana ChiefPriest, have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Davido and Cubana ChiefPriest have been friends for several years, with the latter being a staunch supporter of the former’s music career. Cubana ChiefPriest, who is the owner of a popular nightclub, has often been seen with Davido at events and parties, and has also been known to promote the musician’s music on his social media pages.

In other news, Nigerian musician, Skales has described how his senior colleague in the Nigerian music industry, Timaya broke down in tears when he learned of his difficulties and homelessness.
Speaking in interview with Chude Jideonwo, Skales reported that he was left without a home after quitting his old record label E.M.E. because the company had kicked him out of his rented home.
As his only possession at the moment, along with his studio, clothing, and shoes, he was forced to sleep in his Ford Explorer SUV.
Skales remained working with Timaya, who was oblivious of his predicament since he had done a good job of concealing it. Timaya was moved to tears and felt bad for not knowing Skales was homeless despite spending so much time with him and only learning about his situation afterwards.
He further said that Timaya had kindheartedly given him the use of his vacant penthouse.
In his words;
“Yes I was homeless. I wasn’t making money, as at that time, I wasn’t making money, it was only Banky and Wiz. I mean I was making money but it was not plenty. And I was also a young chap still trying to figure out life.
So I’m like, I don’t have guidance, I’m just in these streets by myself, really. Even though, as much as I hate to blame whatever mistakes on that, but really I didn’t have no guidance, I didn’t have much money, the house I was staying, they rented it, so when the deal was off, I had to leave.
You know, so I didn’t know what to do, I hit the streets and I’m not much of a going to be begging anybody for anything. Just still believed okay I have to keep going, I had just this Ford Explorer, my studio is my baby so I had my clothes, my shoes in the boot. I mean I didn’t have much because everything I had in the house was theirs. I could just drive to anybody’s house that’s my friend, anytime we finish work, I’ll always make sure I leave late.
“So after I finish doing work, which was mostly with Timaya, I’ll just go to my car and pass out, the next morning, I’ll probably pull up in the house like ‘Yo I want to use your bathroom, I only have my toothpaste and my brush then I’ll just go brush my teeth real quick. I was good vibes so everybody wanted me around you know. But only myself and one of my friends knew what I was going through but a lot of people didn’t know.
“So one day, Timaya found out and he actually cried, he felt so bad because I was always with them, I was always chilling, and he didn’t know what was going on. So when he found out, he was like, there’s this penthouse that he doesn’t use for anything, he now told me to move in there.”

The cleric, Rev. Jacob Kabra of the Christian Reformed Church Nigeria CRC-N RCC in Takum, Taraba State, and his wife Mary Jacob Kabra, have been married for over three decades and had been trying to conceive.
According to family and church members who shared the good news on Facebook on Sunday, April 23, 2023, the couple got married on April 9, 1988, at CRC-N Lufu in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
They finally welcomed their first child on March 31, 2023 after 35 years of marriage.
“THANKSGIVING AND NAMING CEREMONY. The Rev. Dr. Jacob M. I Kabra Chairman CRC-N RCC Takum who got married on the 9th April, 1988 at CRC-N Lufu of Takum LGA, Taraba State, welcomed their first fruit on 31st March, 2023,” he wrote.

Nigerian veteran actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu has condemned the entry of many people with inadequate training into the film business.
He lamented the invasion of amateur actors and directors who are now playing the principal roles in Nollywood.
According to Udokwu, the sector ought to be at a higher level than it now is, and the prevalence of unethical behavior is the single factor keeping growth from accelerating.
He shared this while chatting with writer Azuh Arinze during an Instagram Live session.
The movie star said;
“Nollywood ought to be greater than what it is at the moment. Unfortunately, the true potential of the industry is not being realised. A lot of unprofessional activities are going on.
Many half-baked practitioners have invaded the industry. The real professionals should step forward and take back Nollywood.”
When discussing the pinnacle of his career, Udokwu listed among other achievements having the honor of anchoring Gulder Ultimate Search.
He said;
“Being in ‘Checkmate’ (a TV series in the nineties) was a game changer for me. Also, being in ‘Living in Bondage’ (one of the first Nigerian home videos) paved the way for some other roles.
Anchoring Gulder Ultimate Search (a TV reality show) in 2007 was another game changer for me. It was also challenging, because I was not the first person that anchored it.
I started anchoring the show in season four in 2007. But, I eventually became the longest-running anchor person for the show. I hosted it for five consecutive years. Basically, not one particular role changed my career; each role added to the things I was doing.”
A 300- level Microbiology student of the Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos, Moses Simon Gajok, has passed away after falling from a construction site structure.
According to the information obtained, the 28-year-old student was a carpenter by trade up to his passing, according to information obtained.
