A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an eligible voter has taken to social media to express his outrage after being assaulted by thugs while attempting to vote in Lagos state.

He claimed that goons stormed his voting station in Oba’s compound, Ijegun, Alimosho, and chased away all non-Yoruba voters.

He revealed that despite showing them his APC membership certificate, they still pounced on him.

He stated that he held his ground and attempted to fight them alone while others fled, but they injured him.

The APC member posted a picture of his severely injured head and stated that police officers were observing him while he was being beaten.

He added that after the aggressive altercation, he was still able to vote.

He wrote;

“Yoruba men came to the PU at oba’s compound, Ijegun, Alimosho and chased all non Yorubas away. My APC membership card couldn’t save me. They messed up my head and leg. Men of NPF were watching the fight.
All my cards are always in my wallet. All the half-men scrammed. I stood my ground, fought, got injured, but still voted!”

A Yoruba deity known as ‘Ara Orun’ (People of Heaven) has been captured casting his vote at a polling unit in Lagos state while donned in his complete costume.

The masquerade was instructed on how to thumbprint on the voting paper at a polling station.

According to old beliefs, Ara Orun, came straight from Heaven and were designated as lesser African gods and goddesses with superpowers.

Popular Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, recently came under fire on social media for what seemed to be a harmless joke.

The thespian had taken to his Instagram page on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections, to share an hilarious video of a man displaying his flexibility, and in his caption, he made reference to colleague Chioma Akpotha’s ordeal during the presidential election in February.

You will recall that Chioma Akpotha, during the presidential election on February 25, 2023, cried out online after she and other voters got attacked by thugs at their polling unit. ICYMI.

Sharing the funny video, Alexx stated that that’s how he’s preparing to defend Jandor/Funke Akindele’s votes in Lagos on Saturday. He then tagged Chioma in the post and made fun of her reaction to the attack on her polling unit during the presidential election.

Popular Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, has narrated how she was allegedly attacked by thugs at her polling unit during the governorship and state house of assembly elections in Lagos.

Taking to her Instagram story to share her ordeal on Saturday, March 18, the thespian who confirmed she had done accreditation and was waiting to vote said she had to run for her life when some armed men attacked her polling unit.

She said the guys who had knives, bottles, and guns with them came after her with the intent to injure her when they saw her with her phone trying to capture the attack on camera.

She said that, fortunately, she managed to get into her car and drive off, but they damaged it.

Chioma Akpotha, who had a similar experience during the presidential election, noted that the violence today is way worse than what she experienced on the day of the presidential election.

She shared a video of scores of voters standing outside the polling unit, afraid to go in after thugs intimidated them.

In one of the videos, she’s seen reporting the incident to some officers in a police truck before driving home and stating that she won’t put her life at further risk.

Shola Ogudu, the first babymama of Nigerian superstar singer, Wizkid, took to their son, Boluwatife, shopping for his excellent academic performance.

Taking to her Instagram page, the proud mother of one revealed that she decided to reward her 12-year-old son with a shopping spree because he passed his exams with flying colours.

According to her, the reward would motivate him to keep up the good work in school, and even perform better in subsequent exams.

She posted a video of Boluwatife shopping for brand new sneakers at a fashion store, and he genuinely looked happy to be getting new items.

She described the experience as a ‘retail therapy’.

Big Brother Naija star, Hazel Onou, better known as White Money has threatened to sue one of the reality TV show’s sponsors for breach of contract.

The Enugu-born businessman who won the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition has threatened to challenge Revolution Plus Properties for failing to deliver the 2-bedroom apartment to which he is due.

White Money revealed this on social media in response to a fan who requested him to make sure the footage of his home presentation was shared online.

He revealed that very soon the organizers and the real estate company would be slammed with a lawsuit.

White Money was meant to receive a traditional two-bedroom apartment equipped with the finest home equipment, courtesy of Revolution Plus and Scanfrost.

Man arrested for selling his 9-month-old son to three buyers

A 30-year-old man, Daniel Chigozie, has been detained by Amotekun Corps agents for reportedly selling his nine-month-old son to three buyers.

Commandant of the Corps in Ogun State, David Akinremi, said the agency got information that the father had serially sold his son, Daniel Chinonye Darlington.

He claimed Chigozie sold the child to three separate buyers in the Lagos areas of Sango, Meiran, and Apapa.

From August 2022 and February 2023, the suspect, a resident of Abela in Sango Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, received N150,000, N400,000, and N700,000 from anonymous clients.

According to Akinremi, the corps’ probe showed that the man, who is suspected of working with a criminal gang, developed a method for retrieving the son from each of the buyers after each sale until he sold him to the final buyer, one Dr. Nosa in Apapa.

Chigozie confessed to committing the offense in his confessional statement.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has identified him for a follow-up inquiry to retrieve the kid and prosecute him.

Nigerian chef and YouTuber, Yemisi Sophie Odusanya, popularly known as Sisi Yemmie, has revealed that she and her husband were not allowed to vote in the governorship election in Lagos state.

She took to Twitter to raise alarm after she was turned away by alleged thugs who claimed that they look like Igbos.

She posted a video of her confronting the thugs after she was accused of being from the Eastern part of Nigeria, but they insisted that she is Igbo.

One of the thugs was heard telling her that even if she was born in Lagos, she is not an indigene of the state and would not be allowed to vote.

Sisi Yemmie further disclosed that the thugs asked for the political party she was planning to vote for and when she refused to give a direct response, she was denied entry into the polling unit.

She tweeted,

And yes, they asked if I was going to vote APC, I said allow me enter first. Then they locked the gate . So many of them.

A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to share his terrible experience at his polling unit in Ojodu Berger, Lagos State, during the governorship election today, March 18

He revealed that thugs stormed the polling unit and started threatening voters to go home if they are not planning to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He alleged that they called him an “Omo Igbo” and attacked him, his brother, and an elderly woman, whom they presumably mistook for an Igbo woman.

He said they resisted the thugs as much as they could and sustained injuries in the process. According to him, he eventually had to leave the polling unit for his safety.

Sharing photos of his injuries, he wrote, “INEC is useless. Everything I did, i did for my conscience.”

In other news, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 53-year-old woman who was reportedly found with laminated electoral materials.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this after the woman was caught on camera making copies on Friday, March 17, 2023.

According to the PPRO, the culprit was apprehended on Thursday around 4 p.m. at Candos Road, Baruwa in the Iyana-Ipaja neighborhood of Lagos.

He claims that the culprit was detained while making prints inside a business center.

He said;

“She was arrested with 550 different INEC materials. The laptop she used in printing the materials has been recovered and she couldn’t give a good account of how she came in possession of the materials. The case has been transferred to State CID Yaba for further investigation.”

Nollywood actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi, has for the umpteenth time spoken on his rift with his colleague, Mo Bimpe.

Recall that in June 2022, the duo made headlines after it was alleged that they fell out because Yomi Fabiyi requested for sex in exchange for role from Mo Bimpe.

Billionaire businesswoman and clergywoman, Apostle Folorunsho Alakija, has recounted how she was marginalized for being a girl child.

The philanthropist, who is involved in fashion, oil, real estate and printing industries, in an Instagram post, revealed that she wanted to study law but her father rejected the idea and advised her to become a secretary instead.

According to her, her father had the financial capacity to fund her studies but turned her down because investing in her education, to him, would have been a waste of resources as she would change her name after marriage.

Alakija wrote on March 17;

“Growing up as a girl, I dreamt of becoming a lawyer, but my father had other plans for me. He insisted that I become a secretary instead, despite having the means to support my aspirations. His reasoning was that I would eventually get married and change my last name, making any investment in my career a waste of resources.”

Sadly, my experience is not unique. Women around the world continue to face obstacles and discrimination, depriving them of the opportunity to fulfill their potential. But this must change.

‘It is high time that society recognizes the immense value and contributions that women bring. A Nigerian Christian mother has reprimanded her daughter for posting an inappropriate picture on Instagram.

The young woman’s mother apparently found her Instagram page and observed a photo of her wearing a sheer dress that revealed her underwear.

She questioned her on WhatsApp with a voice message, requesting that she delete the picture because she is a Christian and should be portraying Christ in everything she does.

According to the mum, she should be a glowing representation of Christ on Instagram just as Joseph had gone to Egypt and represented God.

After hearing her mother’s sermon about the dress, the woman reluctantly consented to remove it.

Family finally buries pastor 2 years after waiting for him to resurrect

The founder of The Miracle Centre in Johannesburg’s north, Siva Moodley, has been buried 579 days after passing away.

The 53-year-old South African pastor passed away on August 15, 2021, after becoming sick, but his corpse was kept at the mortuary until 2023.

He frequently addressed his conviction that “no Christian should die from sickness” in his sermons.

Moodley’s family, however, had stored his corpse at a mortuary in Johannesburg after he passed away in the hopes that he would come back to life.

According to IOL, his family and church members used to go to the burial home to hope for his resurrection, but after two years of fruitless waiting, they gave up.

Martin du Toit, the manager of the funeral house at the moment, asked the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court for approval to bury or cremate Moodley.

However, the court had not assigned a date for the case to be heard.

It was learned that while his remains stayed conserved, services at the church have been going on as usual and are performed by his wife, Jessie, son, David, and daughter Kathryn Jade.

Although the services are always broadcast online, the church was charged with failure to update the membership on his whereabouts and failing to publicly mourn his passing on social media.

Moodley’s social media profiles stayed active, especially his Facebook and Twitter ones, where he regularly uploads and tweets messages that appear to be from him.

Staff from the Miracle Centre refused to comment when local media approached them, citing a policy that forbade them from doing so.

Lady goes into labor while queuing for cash at bank in Port Harcourt (Video)

A pregnant woman went into labor while waiting in line to get cash in front of a bank in Port Harcourt.

When the expectant mother’s water burst, everyone waiting in line to take funds from their bank was confused.

People were confused as they saw them frantically sprinting from place to place, attempting to help the woman get into a vehicle so she could go to the hospital to give birth.

According to a witness, the heavily pregnant woman started having labor contractions after she was forced to stand for hours in the hot heat to withdraw her money.

She was fortunately able to be carried into a cab that was heading to a local hospital by kind passerby.

A Nigerian lady identified as Juls has taken to social media to share a strange reaction to an incident of fraud her family experienced.

The young lady claimed that her family had brought a potential husband to her that she did not like and that they wanted to compel her to wed him in an arranged marriage.

She did not reveal the amount, but there was an unanticipated turn in the events when the guy conned her parents out of money for their business.

She urged everyone to join her in expressing gratitude for what transpired, saying that it was almost like a gift in disguise.

She tweeted;

“Help me praise the lord, the guy my dads people brought for me to marry by force has scammed them of business money. What God cannot do doesn’t exist fr.”

Recall that Tolanibaj who recently launched her disc jockey career shared that she gets turned off by men dancing in the club.

She tweeted;

“I get turned off when a guy dances in the club. Like sit down and pretend to be a big boy.”

Popular Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has disclosed that he decided to forgo his admission to the University of Lagos due to the 8 months strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).

In an interview with Kiss FM radio, he disclosed this, stating that he had moved on and told his mother of his decision.

Recall that in January 2022, Rema took to the microblogging platform, twitter to announce that he gained admission into UNILAG.

He tweeted;

“What if I told y’all I got an admission into Unilag? Lol Mom said I still need to get a degree sigh, oh well see you guys in class!”

Speaking on why he never resumed classes at the higher institution, Rema said he wanted to do part time schooling and music but the strike ruined his plans.

He continued by saying that, despite her early opposition, his mother now supports his choice to concentrate on music.

Gospel singer, Takalani Chairo has shared a true story of how a mother brought her dead daughter back to life at a hospital.

The singer, in a post shared via her Instagram page, said she was compelled to go to the hospital after her son complained of a heartache.

That night, a woman brought her dead daughter to the hospital and started screaming in pains. Doctors also confirmed her death after examining the girl.

Instead of accepting the report, Chairo said the mother started praying fervently and loudly, and she also joined her in praying for the girl. After praying for over 90 minutes, the girl jerked back to life, to the amazement of everyone at the hospital.

Sharing a photo with her son, Takalani wrote,

“This was taken today at 04:00am. This guy was struggling to sleep and said his heart was hurting he wants a dr. I try to avoid the hospital thing because well I know my son. But ok I end up going there, even though I wanted to turn back because he then slept while we were on our way. But I ended up at casualty.

What was to happen in the next 2hours no one ever prepared me.

2 hours later a woman comes in screaming frantically, like that cry that cuts deep, with a dead daughter (7/8 years old) . My heart instantly broke into pieces, thinking about the pain this woman is probably in.

The Drs come out and confirm to the mother that her daughter is indeed DEAD She let out another deafening scream. But a few seconds later she broke into serious loud prayer, everyone in that casualty could hear.

“Lord remember me!, Lord remember me! It’s me your servant, I have served you faithfully Lord, you are not a man that you can lie“

At that point I ask myself, why am I just seating here in tears, I join the prayer! She starts praying in tongues, I join her !

1.5 hours later the Drs come back, she sees them and asks “Is she alive“ ? , the answer Yesss we are finding her a bed in ICU.

Shooo, She let’s put another scream thanking God and shouting Jesus You are faithful ! .. She didn’t go and check, she spent another 1 hour still praying and thanking God

I recommend Jesus. In fact I highly recommend Jesus .

For the mere fact that I witnessed a miracle – the dead coming back to life? , if my own two eyes. The power of prayer !

I know there’s a 1% chance that woman will see this , but yooooo she changed my life – I’ll never forget this day!”

A Zimbabwean lady, Sahib, has shared the lengths some women go to prevent their partners from cheating on them.

Sahib alleged in a tweet that to ensure it’s only them their men are having intimate relations with, some women steal a single thread from their men’s underwear and tie it around a piece of paper with their names on it.

She said that with this, the man doesn’t get an erection with other women.

“They should also stop this thing of stealing a single thread from men’s underwear and tying it around a piece of paper with their names on it so that he doesn’t get an erection elsewhere. It’s bad,” she wrote on Twitter on Thursday, March 17.

In other news, a South African man, identified as Marvin Lambert, has allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Zanele Pretty Hlatshwayo, to death for ending their relationship.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

According to the deceased’s sister, Zanele had recently ended the relationship with the suspect, Marvin Lambert, but he did not accept it.

Marvin reportedly killed Zanele in front of their one-year-old son and then attempted to commit suicide.

The suspect is allegedly in a hospital under police surveillance after the suicide attempt.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s sister, Precious Thokozile Hlatshwayo, and friends and other family members have taken to Facebook to demand justice.

A young Nigerian lady has been left heartbroken after her boyfriend ended their relationship of four years in a deceitful way.

The lady, who took to a dating platform to share her devastating experience, said her boyfriend lied about his sexuality to break up with her after impregnating another woman.

According to the lady, her boyfriend claimed he was attracted to men in the fourth year of their relationship and introduced her to his male lover.

She then moved out of their shared apartment to start a new life following her partner’s revelation.

However, she was taken aback when she paid him a visit a month later and found a lady whom he had earlier claimed was his colleague cooking in his house.

When she confronted the lady, she laughed about the gay claim and revealed that she was pregnant for her boyfriend.

The singer’s mother, Folakemi Kosoko, turned 60 on Thursday, March 16, and he celebrated her in grand style. He threw a lavish birthday party for her where he presented her with the keys and documents to the new house.
