Popular media personality and actress, Stephanie Coker, has called for the presidential and NASS elections in Ogun State to be cancelled.

Stephanie, in a post shared on Instagram, said she casted her vote in Abeokuta, Ogun state, and the election was neither free nor fair.

She accused APC of “hijacking” the election process, and posted screenshots of an allegedly falsified result to back her claim.

Stephanie Coker calls

According to her, the ruling party, APC, conspired with the electoral body, INEC, to manipulate the results in Ogun state.

The 34-year-old thespian wrote,

“The presidential and NASS elections in OGUN state should be cancelled!

I voted in OGUN state and I can categorically state that this election was neither free nor fair.

APC hijacked the process as is evident in these results I have posted here.

How can accredited voters be 69 and APC receive 136 votes. This is just one of many inaccurate results from Abeokuta.

Bvas was not working at multiple polling units and people were told they would be accredited after voting.

This led to over voting in a number of polling units.

APC have colluded with INEC to manipulate Ogun state results.

INEC need to explain why after 48 hours uploading of results has not been completed.”

“I’VE ALWAYS SPOKEN UP ABOUT THE WRONGS IN THIS COUNTRY. IT’S QUITE UNFORTUNATE THAT I MISSED ELECTIONS THIS YEAR.
HOWEVER, MY INTERNATIONAL SHOWS ARE PLANNED ONE YEAR BEFORE, SO AS TO SECURE THE DATE AND VENUE. TO HAVE CHANGED MY DATES ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE WOULD’VE BEEN A LOGISTICAL HAZARD TO NOT JUST MYSELF, BUT THE WHOLE CREW.
THE ELECTIONS HAVE NOT ALWAYS BEEN IN FEBRUARY, BUT MY SHOW ALWAYS WAS, AS A VALENTINE SPECIAL.
THAT BEING SAID, I AM PROUD OF EVERY NIGERIAN YOUTH FOR TAKING A STAND.
THANK YOU TO MY TRUE FANS THAT UNDERSTOOD AND STILL CAME OUT FOR ME.
THANK YOU FRANKFURT FOR ANOTHER SOLD OUT SHOW.

Burna Boy reacts

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has reacted to the heavy backlash he received for keeping mute about the just-concluded election in the country.

Since the 2023 general election on Saturday, the singer has been repeatedly called out for failing to speak up and sensitize his followers about the election, despite his influence and huge following.

Some berated him for making music about corruption, activism, and the plight of the average Nigerian, but failing to utilize his platform when it was needed the most.

Burna Boy reacts

According to some critics, they were not expecting him to declare support for any candidate, but to encourage his followers to vote in the election.

In reaction to the backlash, the self-styled ‘African Giant’, in a post shared on his Instastory, said he refused to support any candidate because he does not want to be held accountable if the candidate fails in office.

He also urged people to stop looking up to him as a role model, while noting that he hopes the best candidate wins.

The Grammy-award winner wrote,

“I dunno why it’s such a big deal to some Nigerians that I’ve not been vocal about the elections.
Personally I don’t have a candidate that I believe in.
I’ve never supported any political party or candidate in my life because I don’t want to make you vote and then blame me when the person fucks up as usual.
That being said, I hope all votes count and the best man wins.”

Ugandan socialite reacts

A Ugandan socialite, Sarajoy Bakanansa, has reacted after a popular clergyman, Aloysuis Bugingo, and his wife, Susan Makula, showed off their luxurious new mansion.

The founder of the House of Prayers Ministries International in Kampala, started the building project some years back; in the heat of his divorce from his first wife, Teddy Naluswa, whom he was married to for 21 years.

 Ugandan socialite reacts

Following the completion of the mansion, many accused Bugingo of diverting funds he raised from his church members to build his country home.

Taking to Facebook to react to a video of the palatial mansion, Sarajoy, on Sunday, February 26, said she is thankful to God for giving her the wisdom to give her tithe to needy persons, instead of a pastor.

According to her, she can never use her hard-earned money to enrich pastors living luxurious lifestyles and driving flashy cars.

She wrote,

“Today is a Sunday and I know many Ugandans go and worship, some are thanking God, others are praying for miracles.

“When I saw this mansion and also looked at the place where the worshippers pray from. I thanked God for giving me the wisdom to give my tithe to my mother and those in need. At least I get genuine prayers and God has multipled me beyond my imagination.

“Yes, the Bible says take your tithe to the house of God. My mum is my prayer warrior so definitely her praying room is the house of God. Where do you pay your tithe? I refused to enrich any pastor who will never genuinely intercede for me before God but resort to living a lavish lifestyle and with a fleet of cars.”
