A South African man, identified as Marvin Lambert, has allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Zanele Pretty Hlatshwayo, to death for ending their relationship.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

According to the deceased’s sister, Zanele had recently ended the relationship with the suspect, Marvin Lambert, but he did not accept it.

Marvin reportedly killed Zanele in front of their one-year-old son and then attempted to commit suicide.

The suspect is allegedly in a hospital under police surveillance after the suicide attempt.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s sister, Precious Thokozile Hlatshwayo, and friends and other family members have taken to Facebook to demand justice.

In other news, a staff nurse at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura specialist hospital in Gusau, Zamfara State, slumped and died while discharging her duties at the hospital.

The deceased nurse, identified as Asma’u Lawali Bungudu, was said to be in good health when she arrived at the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Asmau was at her job station (the NHIS Clinic) and had checked the blood pressure of about 30 patients before complaining about a heart problem to a doctor, according to the hospital’s public relations officer, Auwal Usman, who confirmed the incident to the Nigerian Tribune.

According to him, after she immediately slumped after the complaint and doctors rushed to save her but died instantly.

“The medical Doctors attempted to save her life but they couldn’t as she died instantly,” Usman said.

The PRO added that Management team of the Hospital led by the Medical Director Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa have handed over the corpse to the relatives of the deceased Nurse.

A family member of the late Asma’u confirmed that Asmau left home hale and hearty on Wednesday morning to go to the hospital where she works as a nurse.

The ‘billionaire baby’ singer took to his Instagram page to announce the sad news of his mother’s passing on Thursday, March 16.

The musician, who is heartbroken by her death, revealed that she died on Thursday and described it as the darkest day of his life.

He posted a black photo and wrote, “Today the Darkest day of my life…March 16. I lost my ancestor ! Love you till I go six feet mum. RIP”

The chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, MC Oluomo, has sparked outrage online after a video of him issuing a stern warning to residents ahead of this Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections surfaced online.

In the vira video, MC Oluomo, who is a known supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is seen giving his people instructions on their mode of operation on Saturday.

He insisted that only Yorubas would vote first and went on to threaten those planning to vote for a different party other than the ruling party to, for their own good, stay at home on election day.

“Iya Chukwudi, if you know you no wan vote for us, siddon for your house o.” he said in part.

He also told those listening that if they notice they are losing, they know what to do.

This comes after Nollywood actor and politician, Olumide Oworu, revealed that he and his team members were attacked while campaigning in Surulere.

The actor, a Labour Party candidate who is contesting against his senior colleague in the entertainment industry and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Desmond Elliot, in the Lagos state house of assembly, Surulere constituency 1 election, said the attack occurred on Tuesday, March 14.

Nollywood actor, Seun Jimoh has urged women to never confess their infidelity to their partners.

Seun Jimoh, who gave this counsel in a post on his Instagram page, said women need not open up to their husbands if they cheat.

He said that, unlike women, men find it difficult to forgive a cheating spouse.

He warned that if they went on to confess and the man claimed to have forgiven the woman, he’d always hold it against her and punish her in the future.

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has given politicians counsel ahead of this Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly election.

Speaking on Thursday, March 16, at Sampou community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State shortly after paying a condolence visit to Governor Douye Diri who lost his father, Pa Abraham Diri, Jonathan admonished politicians against do-or-die politics, saying those who aspire to rule should not force themselves on the people.

He also questioned why those who want to be leaders feel the need to impose their will on the populace.

Jonathan said;

“Leadership is not by force. It is about serving the people. So, if you want to lead the people, you cannot kill them before you lead them.

In other news, Lagos State Governor, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, has directed the State Ministry of Education to look into the case of a student who was allegedly sent home from school because her bag had a sticker of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The student called Barinada Marvellous was told to leave school in an alleged exeat letter that was supposedly signed by the school’s principal after she was caught “campaigning for Peter Obi against the wish of Lagosians”.

According to the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, the Lagos State Governor has authorized the removal of the principal, who will be asked to clarify the event.

“The Lagos State Government, the Ministry of Education, and all its agencies will never instruct any school principal, personnel or teacher to act in such a manner. The matter would be dealt with within the scope of our strict regulations as the reason for sending home the student is unacceptable – if true,” she said.

An immigration consultant has recounted how his smartwatch that couldn’t be repaired in Toronto, Canada, was fixed in Computer Village, Lagos, Nigeria.

Tunde Fash, who lives in Canada, disclosed that his smartwatch was written off by the Apple office in Toronto, and they were also unable to replace it because the warranty period had expired.

According to him, he reached out to a technician in Computer Village, Lagos, for repair and shockingly, the device started working again.

Bamboozled by the prowess of the technician, Tunde averred that Nigerians are very talented.

A Nigerian man, identified as Okunola Adebola Orogun, has recounted how he found love on the streets of microblogging platform Twitter.

Orogun, in a post shared on Twitter, disclosed that he slid into the lady’s DM with ‘kfb’, an internet acronym for ‘Kindly Follow Back’ in 2021.

Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Clinics, a Lagos-based medical facility, has finally broken its silence following the death of one of its clients.

News of the death of a 20-year-old lady, identified as Destiny Jojo, who had visited the facility for a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, made the rounds on Wednesday, March 15.

Friends who took to social media to mourn her tragic demise reported that she died after being unable to breathe properly, shortly after the surgery.

Social media users accused the hospital of negligence and called on the government and the appropriate authorities to shut down the hospital permanently to prevent further deaths.

However, reacting in a statement shared on its Instagram page on Thursday morning, cleared some misinformation and wrong assumptions making the rounds about the clients death.

It stated that a CT Pulmonary Angiogram was conducted on the deceased when she arrived at the intensive care unit ICU “and the result showed there was no pulmonary embolism.”

The hospital further debunked claim that the lady died in their facility, disclosing that she passed away at the ICU specialist hospital she was referred to.

The statement read,

“Good day everyone. On the March 14, 2023, we made a press release regarding the current issue making rounds on social media. We, once again, deeply commiserate with the family of the deceased. It has become necessary to clear the air on some misinformation and wrong assumptions. We are aware that it is reasonable to speculate that fat embolism was the most likely cause of her sudden onset of breathlessness.

However, we wish to state the following:
“A CT Pulmonary Angiogram (CPA) was conducted the same day the client arrived at the ICU and the result showed there was NO PULMONARY EMBOLISM. BY the way, a CPA is the gold standard for diagnosing PULMONARY EMBOLISM (whether for fat, blood clot or air embolism).

Nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen has tackled popular influencer and content creator, Caramel Plug, for shaming women who cook for men during talking stage.

This comes after Caramel took to Snapchat to share her sentiment about women who go out of their way to please men before they officially start dating.

Caramel, who was reacting to a lady who disclosed that she once prepared pounded yam and soup for a man she was talking to, said it reeks of desperation.

According to her, she can never do chores for a man she is not yet dating, and doesn’t understand women who do such.

“BBLs can be dangerous” – Aproko Doctor advises women as lady dies after plastic surgery in Lagos

Popular Nigerian doctor and influencer, Dr. Chinonso Egemba, better known as Aproko Doctor, has advised women considering cosmetic surgery to ensure their surgeons are fully qualified.

Aproko Doctor gave this advice via his Twitter handle following the death of a 20-year-old lady, Destiny Jojo, after a butt lift procedure in Lagos.

Recall that Destiny Jojo passed away after a perceived botched Brazilian buttlift procedure.

The 20-year-old is said to have developed complications with breathing after the surgery and was rushed to a specialist hospital, where she passed on.

Reacting to the news, Aproko Doctor advised ladies seeking to undergo cosmetic surgery to make sure their surgeons are fully qualified.

“If you want to have cosmetic surgery, make sure your surgeon is fully qualified. Yes, every surgical procedure comes with risks, esp BBLs. A lady just died here in Lagos following one of these surgeries. May she RIP BBLs can be dangerous and carry a huge risk, so be aware.” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, a lady has claimed that the hospital where a 20-year-old lady died after undergoing cosmetic surgery was running a discounted promo.

The lady, in an online video, alleged that the hospital was offering discounts for the liposuction procedure.

She criticized the hospital for undervaluing the surgical procedure despite being aware of the risks involved. According to her, she doesn’t understand why a surgical procedure will be discounted when it is not a commodity.

Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky has recounted his near-death experience after undergoing cosmetic surgery two years ago.

The male Barbie who, in 2021, claimed to have traveled to the Dominican Republic for butt enlargement surgery for the first time opened up that he almost died during the procedure.

Bobrisky made this revelation while reacting to the news of the death of a young lady, Destiny Jojo, who underwent a similar surgery in Lagos.

It was earlier reported that Destiny Jojo passed away after the Brazilian butt lift procedure went wrong.

It was gathered that after the surgery, she was supposed to be discharged on the fourth day but developed some complications with her breathing. She was then rushed to a specialist hospital, where she passed away. Read here.

Reacting, Bobrisky via his Snapchat handle shared how he almost lost his life two years ago while undergoing liposuction surgery.

“Now I’m scared of going for my second liposuction procedure after seeing that pretty girl who died during her own section. Omo is not easy o i won’t lie. Two years ago i almost died too. I was in massive pain. I’m lazy sha i can’t stand pain. D way dis girls do yansh like pure water like it’s not painful. Haaaaa d pain na die”, he wrote.

Actor Olumide Oworu reveals he and his team were attacked while campaigning in Surulere

Nollywood actor and politician, Olumide Oworu, has revealed that he and his team members were attacked while campaigning in Surulere.

The actor, a Labour Party candidate who is contesting against his senior colleague in the entertainment industry and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Desmond Elliot, in the Lagos state house of assembly, Surulere constituency 1 election, said the attack occurred on Tuesday, March 14.

He said one of his team members was injured in the attack. He however reiterated that the attack would not deter them from continuing their campaign.

“My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was. The case has been reported at the Iponri police station.

I am not deterred by the incident. Instead I am more committed to seeing this through. We will pass through the wards in constituency 1 (Akinhanmi/Cole, Adeniran/Ogunsanya, Iponri Housing Estate/Eric Moore, Igbaja/Stadium, Shitta/Ogunlana Drive, Yaba/Ojuelegba). See you outside!”

A Nigerian man said to be in his sixties has tied the knot with a young girl in Kano State.

A video from the simple wedding ceremony recently found its way to the internet and sparked outrage from Nigerians on social media.

Speaking on his choice to marry the young girl, the man described her as his choice and said they are in love with each other.

“She’s my choice, we love each other”, he said.

However, there are conflicting reports about the girl’s age. While some claim she’s an 11-year-old minor, others claim she’s 21.

Recall that the deceased, identified as Destiny Jojo, passed away after the procedure went wrong. She reportedly went to an aesthetic hospital in Lagos for the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.
